These folks are great! We have an ancient Johnson-Pacific wall safe that had been slightly damaged last time it was moved. The dial sleeve had come slightly loose, and even though the safe still opened it was becoming less reliable over time. It finally got to the point where it was taking four or five tries to open it. I was afraid it would eventually quit opening altogether. Having read the rave reviews of Accurate Safe & Lock on Yelp I called them and spoke with Yvonne, who took the time to understand the issue in detail and explained what would likely be involved in fixing it. She set up an appointment for someone to come out and take a look. The guy arrived precisely at the appointed time, which in and of itself surprised me given the dicey experiences I'd had with locksmiths in the past. In about half an hour he had fixed the problem for a very reasonable price. We are extremely happy with Accurate Safe & Lock and would not hesitate to recommend them! read more

I lost both my electric bike keys (which were tied together because I'm an idiot) and no bike shop would help me unlock my bike or replace the ignition. I spent 3 weeks hopelessly searching for keys and ordering replacement parts only to find that you can't replace parts while everything is locked to your bike. I even bought a lock picking kit. Everywhere I went they said "we can't fix this". Fast forward 20 minutes in this shop- the lovely couple worked their magic instead of turning me away. This was such probably such a hassle- I'm an idiot with a bike in a lock shop...but they picked the lock and replaced both locks and even the ignition of a bike that no one knew how to do. The man even adjusted my bike seat for me! They charged me an insanely fair price (I tried to tip them and they declined). Its like this place is the perfect storm- an amazing mechanic and a locksmith who can most likely pick and install anything. read more

Everyone I dealt with here was friendly and professional. I needed a key duplicate for my Thule box on the car. I went to several other key places that said they either couldn't' make it or would have to order a key blank from the manufacture that would take a week or two and cost $$. The staff here knew just what was needed, duplicated the key in a few minutes, and had me out the door for a normal key cutting cost. The key works better than the original that came with the Thule box. I hope I never get locked out, but if I do, I'm calling these guys and definitely going to see them for future keys. Purchased new house on Queen Anne, and previous owner had misfortune of having their car broken into day of their move out. Keys were stolen, along with registration with old address, meaning I had to rekey all the locks that day. Read the reviews and agree they are worth the trip. The first time: I brought a 35 year old boat key that I'd taken to other places that did not have a blank. Searched through hundreds of blanks, unable to find one, they found the closest match and heavily modified it to be able to work. Quite an ordeal. Unbelievably, for the amount of time and effort it took to make 5 keys..... The low cost and value to me was a gift from heaven. My only other option was to change the ignition switch on the boat... Very expensive. Second time: my house lock had stopped working and I could not remove key. She instantly determined the problem, repaired a factory defect, and now it works better than it ever has. I picked up the key to my bedroom door and fortunately, after looking a bit more thoroughly in the back stock room, the man that helped me before found an already carved key to my bedroom door! Great service. I came in here to have several sets of keys made, they were able to do it on-the-spot in less than 5 minutes. They charge about $2.50 per key, and a credit card fee if your total is less than $10 bucks. Luckily there's a Bank of America ATM and BECU ATM about a block away (and free Customer parking there at BoA if you're struggling to find street parking). The only downside is that they're closed on weekends, making errand-running a bit difficult. read more

In 2016 we had Bulger Safe and Lock come in and install an expensive lock on our turn of the century house ($1600!). The installer clearly didn't know what he was doing. The back door is fine, but over two years, the front door completely disintegrated, so much so the front door would no longer latch. Dean from Accurate Safe and Lock came and fixed the problem in a matter of minutes and was super inexpensive to boot! Thanks to Accurate we are able to close our front door and KEEP IT CLOSED now! Amazing customer service, a fair price & a friendly/knowledgeable staff. What more could you ask for?! I had a tenant lose their keys. They were leaving town & were concerned about the security of their apartment. Easy enough to fix. Just re-key the locks right? Here's the reason for the five stars. We had to have the locks taken care of by 9:30 am today. Well I'm an idiot. I thought they opened at 7am. So I arrive at their location at 7:30 only to discover they don't open until 8:30. I see someone inside & figure what the heck, it doesn't hurt to ask, so I knock. Yvonne opens up the door. She is super friendly, listens to my sad story and is more than willing to help. I leave my locks and phone number and she calls me back in less than an hour to let me know the locks are finished! So basically if I could have gotten my happy a** back there in 10 minutes I could have picked up my re-keyed locks BEFORE they opened? To top it off the price was very reasonable. I had three locks re-keyed to match so the tenant only needs one key for all of them and had it matched to our master plus three copies of the new key all for under $70 when I would have gladly paid $100. They met me at my apartment so quickly that I barely made it down to meet them in time, and he got my door open in a snap - and without having to use a drill (that's a first)! This company has serious communication issues. I oversee the maintenance at a condo complex in Renton and our management company submitted a work request for them to come out and address a couple of lock issues. They were instructed to call me and schedule a time to come out. Rather than do that, one of the technicians, Steve, just showed up on a Friday and called to tell me he was at the complex. I was at work since I had no idea that he was coming. I called him back and told him that I was at work and we needed to schedule a specific time so that I could be there. He asked when I would be available and we agreed on Tuesday, June 7th at 2:30 pm. He said he would take care of the scheduling. I called Steve yesterday at around 1 to confirm the appointment, and got his voicemail. I left a message and he called me back, told me he was off work that day and asked if I had scheduled it through the office. I had not, because he told me he would take care of it. I then called the office and a woman named Yvonne (I think) answered. She told me she didn't have us on the schedule, that they were in Queen Anne and booked and couldn't possibly send anyone out. I told her that this was the 2nd time that they had miscommunicated within their company and it wasn't acceptable. She hung up on me. I called back and spoke with a male (don't remember his name), explained the situation to him. While he seemed sympathetic he still didn't offer a solution other than scheduling another appointment. After having two mix-ups and no offers of apology at all, I declined and found another locksmith to come out and do the work. They came within 2 hours and got the jobs done. read more

I've used yelp many times, love it and have been meaning to join for some time but apathy prevented me from taking up the pen until today...yesterday afternoon I took a deadbolt in to be re-keyed and have 6 keys made, the cost...$51. I live close by and make an effort to always patronize small businesses rather than a big box or chain, they're better for the economy, better employers and better for neighborhoods...however, when they blatantly and grossly over-charge, it's hard not to go running to a national chain...this makes me very sad as I've done business at the store many time and felt they were reputable but I definitely will not be going back and urge others not to as well. I am partly to blame as I didn't inquire about the price before I had the work done. When the locksmith told me the price I was surprised and wondered If I should have just gotten a new lock and had some keys made...she said she didn't know what the price was of a double keyed deadbolt and I forked over my card...later in the afternoon I was at the big orange national retailer getting a can of paint mixed and looked in the hardware aisle and saw the deadbolt in question for $16.58...with the additional keys,tax I would have spent maybe $22...so basically I spent $30 I really didn't need to...okay, buyer beware...but also, this was not good customer relations on their part...this is their industry, they know the price of basic goods...be upfront with the customer and say "hey, I can do this...our shop rate it's going to be $50 bucks but for about half ( a significant amount ) you have another option"...I would have appreciated the HONESTY, gone to the big orange box but definitely also gone back to the neighborhood locksmith and told friends...now, as a lifelong resident of the neighborhood, I will be telling another story. Very sad...so beware and be careful...thanks and I wish my first review had been motivated by a happy experience. read more
