No one could figure out why the copies of my car key wouldn't work, then I took it here to copy and the owner made it work! He admitted it was a very unusual key/issue but custom filed it down to where it worked!! So happy I thought I was going to have to go straight to the dealership if I couldn't find anyone to make it work ALSO way cheaper than the other places I went to, so you're getting a better price for better service Great place to copy keys and friendly guy read more

Got a USPS postal key copied. It did not work using the automatic machine at Safeway but it works with these guys. Thank you. read more

Alki W Seattle Key & Lock - Note new operating hours. And new phone number. - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Used to use them regularly, until they changed ownership at some point last year. The new management is the worst in the business, they either have no clue about the business or are just nasty and rude. I had to argue with the young guy on how a key is cut. Are you freaking kidding me? read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - Also known as Locksmith Services Inc. Very deceptive business practices. No prices shown on their website and services are labeled "variable prices" based on repair. The "technician" showed up for less than 5 minutes, said I can't repair the lock and then left. I was unknowingly charged $108 for less than 5 minutes. read more

After work, I discovered that I was locked out of my home. I requested their services to gain access the following morning. I received a text message that they would contact me in the morning with an exact time. No communication in the morning or after I re-texted about their arrival time. I called a different locksmith who arrived 30 minutes later thankfully but by this time it was 1pm. I emailed the following day to inquire about service and still no reply. Look elsewhere for your needs. read more

This company website no longer mentions West Seattle on their website. From their website AI asks for me to automatically schedule a time. AI bot shows many times available but since I submitted text request with auto bot no reply, human or otherwise to question I asked Friday. I gave a WS address which AI would no is near the Admiral location actual human locksmith used to work. I wrote the AI bot asking if an actual direct employee of the company works in West Seattle. No reply yet Sunday night to Friday mid-day question. It is written on website their schedule is very busy near Christmas time. Understandable. I just wanted to know if a human is involved in text request. Don't know where their phone # rings. #artificialintelligence #aibot I could not wait longer so someone else will do it. read more

10/10 i would definitely recommend using this business. They are friendly trustworthy and get the job done. Willing to go the extra mile and serviced my business well after hours into the late evening. Great service. read more

I have been to this place of business in the past with great service, unfortunately, I fell victim to the bait and switch. I walked in with my lock which did not have a key to it. That key was lost. I brought a key from my front door and asked if it could be rekeyed for this specific key and what would be the price? I was quoted $30 plus 4.99 for each key and it would be done that afternoon. This was on a Tuesday morning. They didn't call. I went back on Wednesday and it still wasn't done and they would call in the afternoon. On Thursday morning my friend said he would go check on it. Before he got there, she called and said it would be $60.00. There was an extra $15 feet to pick the lock so the work could be competed. I told her that is not the quote I received two days prior. My friend paid the fee. If I would have known it was going to cost this much, I would have bought a new lock. BEWARE!!! read more

In the past Alki W Seattle Key and Lock has been my choice of locksmiths...however my last experience has changed all that. I ordered two key blanks that were not in stock and was told they should be arriving in a couple of days...It's been over a month and they are not here. One employee stated that any ordered keys are just ordered by type and not by the name of the customer....another employee stated that they do keep the customers info and would call when the keys came in. One employee told me they don't do car key fob programming the other employee stated that yes they do and that they are the one who does the programming. The employee looked at my fob and said no problem and that they would put me on the schedule and call me when to have it done....no calls in over 2 weeks now. So I'll be looking for a new locksmith where the right hand knows what the left hand is doing. read more

On the day our house was listed, after we had moved out of town and left things to the realtor, the lock on the front door broke. It's an antique lock that came with the house and I was worried we would have to replace the entire door since the lock is so old (and I know from a previous experience that these antique locks can have specific parts that make repairs difficult). A neighbor of ours did us a solid and took the lock/pieces up to W Seattle Key & Lock to see what they could do. Less than an hour later the lock on the door was fixed and tours were able to commence that weekend as planned. Thank you so much for the excellent service and for meeting our needs in a very condensed timeframe. read more

Top notch! I had my front door lock and deadbolt replaced during a remodel about two years ago and lost all of my keys. Well, my short term roommate did but who is counting. So, I asked for a rekey of both of them and $200 later, I had 4 keys! It's great and such a weight off my shoulders. The staff were very friendly and kind. I would highly recommend. read more

Fast and accurate - what more could you want? They were also able to laser our car key; we had lost our spare and were afraid we wouldn't be able to dupe it. Very friendly. I would go back. read more

Had a couple keys made and an electronic lock reprogrammed. Service was friendly and quick. Prices reasonable. Super tiny store!

Fantastic speedy service!!! Daniel was able to repair our door lock in less than 10 minutes and the price could not be beat. I highly recommend using their service for all your locksmith needs! read more

Really appreciate Stan's professionalism and expertise. A deadbolt failed and his first available appointment for a house call was a week out. The woman who took my call tried to walk me through the process of removing the cylinder so I could bring it in and have it repaired that day. I wasn't successful but it wasn't for lack of trying on her part. I made the appointment for the house call. Stan arrived on time and quickly determined that the cylinder needed to be replaced, showing me what had broken. He told me the reason was that the door jam and deadbolt didn't line up perfectly, putting stress on the now-broken part. He didn't have the specific cylinder in stock so ordered it. Before he left for his next appointment, he checked all of my locks to see if they lined up properly. Most of them did not. He corrected them and charged only $22 more for this, even though it took extra time. A few days later they let me know that the replacement cylinder was in and we set up the appointment. Every aspect of his service was perfect. They will be the first place I'll call for key and lock services. It's a relief and GREAT to find a truly reputable locksmith here in West Seattle. read more

I want to take a moment and offer accolades to Stan and Alki West Seattle Key & Lock. What a fantastic company! I am a Real Estate Broker and find myself or my clients in need of key assistance quite a bit. On a personal note, Stan just fixed my office door that hadn't been opened in over 30 years. He had the stubborn, antique interior of the lock re-built and got it working like butter. On a professional note, Stan is fast to respond to my clients needs, always happy, funny and his customer service is unparalleled. I highly recommend this company for all of your locksmith needs and standby their service. An excellent team of professionals with top notch customer service which is a rare find these days. read more

Ben was terrific! Honest as they come....helped to explain how I could replace my own deadbolt that was...well, dead! This is to a guy who is challenged when it comes to changing a light bulb!! I did it myself, instead of having him come out, but he was more than willing to do that as well....he told me what his rate was (and at 15 minute billing!!) which I thought was very reasonable. I bought a new deadbolt from him, he set it up for my old key(s) so I didn't have to get new keys made either! Trust him! read more

Just hired these guys to replace the locks on our triplex. They were prompt and called me back to schedule our appointment. The install tech Stan was great and they were in and out. Great local business! I received a fair price, no overcharges, and friendly call to confirm everything before showing up on time. It's the second time I used Alki Key & Lock and trusted them alone in the house to get the work done and they did great again. They replaced the very old front door lock on our house in West Seattle, and they were a pleasure to work with. They were flexible about the choice of a new lock and latch handle, and they did a great job with the installation. read more

The technician, Eric, came within 20 minutes to my location in West Seattle and was friendly. When he got upstairs, he informed me that he couldn't do the easy picking the lock because he had his equipment stolen out of his car. So he had to do the more invasive $60 additional fix of drilling in the lock. Why I had to pay the additional $60 for this procedure because he got his stuff stolen out of his car, I have no idea. He had to go back repeatedly to his car to get more drills and didn't seem like he knew what he was doing. I wouldn't recommend Alki W Seattle Key & Lock to a friend. read more

Scheduled them to come change the locks at a new house and install one keyless lock on one of the 3 doors. Showed up with no equipment, after I went into the store the day before and picked out all the hardware. He Had to go back to the store, and then forgot the keys. Eventually sent him home without doing any of the work because I needed to go back to work. Got a call a week later from the store asking if I wanted to reschedule. I had already found someone else to do the work for cheaper. No apology for their mess up. Poor customer service and on the expensive side. Would not recommend. read more

I've used these folks for at least 8 years maybe longer. Services include keys, lock outs, installs, emergency lockouts. They have always been professional, helpful, kind, overall wonderful. Had to cancel a rekey last week and they were kind enough to not charge me for the cancelation. Saved me a ton. I appreciate them and feel safe knowing they have my back if my Company ever needs them. Grateful! read more

A neighbor who was out of the state and in the process of putting her house on the market called in a panic on a Friday afternoon because her old front door lockset broke when the realtor tried to open it the day before her first open house. I called up and got Ben, he was out of the shop but heard her story and agreed to meet me back at the shop an hour later. I took him the lockset and he was able to repin and add new springs which I was able to reinstall from there. From the time I received the panicked call to the time it was fixed and installed was less than two hours and for a very reasonable price. Your mileage may vary in that kind of responsiveness as I was blown away by that turnaround, but I was super impressed with Ben's willingness to help and the effortless work he did to get the lock up and working again. Give 'em a call! read more

Better than the best customer service ever! The owner performed the impossible on a lock that was unfixable according to the manufacturer. What a day...the front door would not lock. I needed it to be fixed the same day. The manufacturer said that the lock could not be repaired, and the replacement would be over $700 and would take weeks to arrive. A spring had broken inside the mechanism. I removed the whole thing, handles and all and took them to our experts at Alki W Seattle Key & Lock. The owner Stan was there. He pulled out a bag with handles, lock and all. It was for the wrong side, and the lock said "Not Reversible" on it. Stan, undaunted, made it work. You should have seen all the parts and springs in there. Stan personally helped me carry all the handles and old parts to my car a block away! I would drive 50 miles to Stan and his staff before going elsewhere. By the way, call them for advice on what locks [not] to buy. read more

My experience with Stan was just excellent! I called about one week prior to leaving on a 2 week trip out of the country - needing to have a sticky lock on our front door evaluated prior to leaving the house to our house sitter. Stan was able to come by within a few days and provided the most comprehensive evaluation of the situation that I could imagine! And, now the lock works great! A true professional and old school in the best way! Thanks, Stan! Great to see that there are still people around who take such pride and have so much passion for their work!! read more

This is the best locksmith shop in town! They do such a great quality job with a smile on their face. Everyone I've encountered is so sweet and helpful. They've made keys for my business for the past 6 years. The owner also came to my salon and installed a slow shutting mechanism so the place stays quiet and relaxing. I just love how friendly they are and truly want to give great service. I wouldn't go anywhere else! Thanks guys! read more

Re-keyed our house after move in. Stan was great! He took the time to walk through and not only address all of the lock issues in the house, but also pointed out safety concerns inside and out that I may not have otherwise seen or thought of. Long term WS resident, seemed to know everyone. Car locks are one thing, but to invite someone into your home to make keys is another. You must really trust them to be a reliable company. Stan was professional, thoughtful and on time. I will use them again for any needs and highly recommend them to anyone. read more
