Broadway Chemists is the absolute best. They are prompt, kind, always answer the phone and are quick to fill prescriptions. More often than not, by the time I leave the doctors office, George or Lucas will call me to tell me that the prescription is ready and it will be delivered by the time I return home. They are HONEST and will let you know if it would be better for you to fill your prescription somewhere else if it is less expensive for you. They will do the legwork to find coupons to get better pricing on prescriptions that may not be covered by your insurance. I am so happy to be able to support a neighborhood business that does a phenomenal job. read more

I finally got fed up with waiting in long lines at Duane Read to fill an occasional needed script and having to deal with the very unfriendly staff there. Switched over to broadway Chemists at the suggestion of my doctor and they are wonderful. Very pleasant and helpful and they deliver at no extra cost. So no more lines and hassle. read more

Throwback to an era of service that rarely exists in this digital age. Not only are the proprietors well informed, pleasant and polite they are extremely responsive with a level personal attention that far exceeds their competitors. While it is almost against my interest to say this, they are extremely well stocked / able to acquire hard to find scrips. I even choose to travel here from the east side (although they do offer delivery). I never thought I would review a pharmacy but they deserve high praise for their store and customer service. read more

When my former pharmacy stopped accepting my Medicare prescription plan I searched my Upper West Side neighborhood for a new one. Believe me, I visited half a dozen. Broadway Chemists was my choice and it's been a happy one. It's a small but very neat independent shop (that would fit into the checkout area of the Horrible Nearby CVS). The Greek brothers who own it, George and Lucas, provide incredible service. They recognize your name when you phone for a prescription, deliver quickly (and free!) if you can't come into the shop, and are unfailingly polite and pleasant. The shop is, for the most part, a professional pharmacy (no salads, no candy, no Halloween costumes), but there's a well-curated selection of non-prescription items. I've always been able to find the toothpaste, shampoo and Band-Aids I need at Broadway, and therefore have never needed to step foot into HNCVS. Long may they prosper! read more

Broadway Chemists is a family operated store. Everyone who works there is extremely friendly and helpful. Service is impeccable. They are a small pharmacy, so if you have a large quantity request, you should make sure to ask in advance (they always have enough for first few days but may need a day to get a month's worth). So, if you are going out of town and need a rarely prescribed medication, I would suggest leaving a day or two for them to fill it before you leave. Broadway Chemists has a nice variety of drug store products including the newest season of nail polish, high end bath products, hair accessories, reading glasses, and an assortment of OTC aids. They do deliveries as well. I would highly recommend using them. read more

Hands down the best family run, independent pharmacy on the UWS. I make a special trip there even though I do not live in the neighborhood, because they always remember my name, go out of their way to deal with any issues I've had with prescriptions being renewed, and are extremely courteous. This place is fantastic. The staff is super friendly, they remember me every time I go in, plus they make getting my prescriptions filled super easy. Last time I needed a prescription filled, my doctor called the prescription in and an hour later the prescription was delivered to my apartment which is a good 25 blocks from Broadway Chemists. They saved my credit card info on file (with my permission) so now I just call in or go down there, hand them my prescription or ask for a refill, and BAM they deliver it in less than 24 hours if they don't have it in store. If they do have it in store, it takes about 5 minutes for them to fill the prescription. Even though this place is far from where I live, I will definitely keep going back for the great service. I so rarely write reviews but these guys deserve it. I have always used CVS/Duane Reade for my prescriptions but no more. They make it so easy and convenient hand delivering my prescriptions to my apartment (that is not that close!) sometimes within the same day. Kudos to them for managing to stand apart from all the pharmacies that don't make you feel well taken care of. read more

Have started using them pretty much all the time since just recently discovering them not far from home. Nice people. Christine the pharmacist seems to be there every day. I'd say it's a smallish store, but they have everything we've needed for my parents. I'll never go to Duane Reade again! I went here for the first time today on the recommendation of my daughter's pediatrician who practices down the street. I needed three prescriptions filled. Two they had in stock and filled those quickly, but the third they said they couldn't get in until later that afternoon. So they delivered it to me this evening, free of charge!! Amazing. I could not rate this pharmacy any higher. The best compliment I could provide would be to give them rave reviews on their own merits: their service, consistent retention of information and desire to go above-and-beyond. All true. But when you think about the alternatives (the CVS down the street, for example) where one feels like they are stuck in an infinite loop in an Ayn Rand novel -- you simply cannot go anywhere else.
