It's a true neighborhood pharmacy and they do delivery and they quick to answer the phone and if they have the machine on because they're already on the phone with someone there quick to respond to you. Also, Keith, the owner/pharmacist will order things that you use every day products and match the price you could get them somewhere else. The best on the upper west. Hands down the most caring, hard-working, compassionate group I have ever dealt with. Kind, compassionate, small caring, crew. no big pharma B.S here. They also carry a wide array of braces and basic self-care stuff, some are nontoxic, and organic, but not enough. They are a huge help always, to me and my husband, and have shown humane touches all along the way. Run like hell from Broadway family pharmacy; the good guys left and now-a bunch of snotty, nasty people run the show. i left them after 10 years. read more

If you're looking for personalized and bespoke service then this place is for you. They are closed on Sundays and are open until 3 in Saturdays so if you're looking for 24/7 this place is not for you. They offer free delivery and the pharmacist and their staff are wonderful. read more

The kind of warn, friendly small-town pharmacy you rarely find even in warm, friendly small towns nowadays. Don't let the size fool you - all the essentials are there. Whatever isn't you can probably find at the big, stadium-lit mega chain across the street. I won't subtract for hours that can conflict with those advertised here on Yelp because their hours were clearly posted outside and, like many smaller operations, closing hours can vary between seasons; also, regardless of what you hear or want to believe, as of this post (October, 2022) the pandemic is still very much a factor. In general, if you're heading anywhere in NYC that advertises regular hours, assume they may have recently changed - it's always a good idea to call ahead. read more

I started going to here about a year ago. It is the most wonderful place. First of all it's like an old fashioned pharmacy, with invidualized help. They know you. Many many times I have a $5.00 copay, and they take my insurance. Plus Keith, the head pharmacist is great with homeopathy, as well. I love supporting this small business. Freedom! Freedom from Duane Reade! Actual great service and good prices at a knowledgeable pharmacy! Seriously, we love this place. They are friendly, courteous, well stocked, reasonably priced; they are what drug stores used to be before chains took over and lowered the bar. I can't remember the last time I had a pleasant experience with a pharmacist at a chain store -- Duane Reade, I'm looking at you. The pharmacist here is great, she remembered me from when I was in previously, and went above and beyond to help me get my prescriptions filled. I'd been putting off switching from Duane Reade because of the hassle of doing so; turns out, staying there was more of a hassle, and I'll be using this pharmacy from now on! A++ pharmacy. Tired of the less than pleasant staffers at big chain drugstores, I popped into 79th street pharmacy a few months ago. Not only was I greeted by pleasant individuals, my prescription was over $30 cheaper here (compared to both CVS & Duane Reade prices)! Even though I've since moved further uptown (and there are dozens of pharmacies closer to my new apartment), I'll only be using 79th street pharmacy from here on out. read more

I don't recall loving a pharmacy quite as much. Such a relief to never have to step foot into a CVS or Duane Reade again. For a small place, the selection is more than sufficient. You just won't find make-up, candy and all the non-pharmaceutical nonsense at CVS or DR. Please support them during this time...I'd be shattered if they shuttered... read more

I had just gotten home from a scary few days in the hospital. I was sent home with a prescription for a new drug that after calling the local big pharmacys we discovered was hard to find . My brother called Keith at the 79th st pharmacy and he couldn't of been nicer and so incredibly helpful. He immediately offered to order the drug and personally drop it off at my apartment first thing in the am. I loved this small town attention. I was able to rest and recovery with no worries. I don't have health insurance currently and needed an antibiotic. This pharmacy was about 25% of the price Duane Reade had quoted me. I kid you not: $11 vs $41. And as others have indicated, the service is warm and attentive. Pharmacist could not have been nicer. read more

Simply put: great service, excellent prices and actual accountability. Prescriptions cheaper on copays than major chains, which should not be possible. This leads to major ethical questions about those chains, but I won't get into that here... Last point - this pharmacy has a mobile app for refilling scripts that they a) actually maintain and b) works quickly and seamlessly. This is a huge point of differentiation relative to other stores in and of itself. Highly recommend. read more

I can't say enough great things about this pharmacy. This is the type of pharmacy where you are actually dealing with people that care. You will never have a bad experience. I didn't properly appreciate how nice the people at the local pharmacy were when I was growing up as a kid. I just thought that's the way the world was. Then the chains came to dominate. The last couple of places I lived, I didn't have a choice. Now, I appreciate pleasant, helpful pharmacists. It's a small shop, but it's the people who work there that make it great. read more

Once here, we took our scripts to a large, chain pharmacy with long lines, long waits, mistakes and unhelpful pharmacists.
