We were greeted and seated within a few minutes of walking in. There is indoor seating at tables or a bar set-up down the stairs or you can sit in a covered patio (they do have a small AC unit). Monday had a short rush around 1030am. Since we were seated at the table closest to the front door, in between the stairs, it was bothersome to have parties waiting to be seated right next to our table. Especially, when kids kept running up and down the stairs. They would also get in the way of the servers bringing food from the kitchen. Just seemed like an accident waiting to happen. What about the food?: Variety of options for either breakfast or lunch. I went with the crab cakes eggs benedict. Yes, my go-to. And my partner had the country benedict. You definitely get a lot for what you pay for. We both would have liked more sauce. Personally, I like my hollandiase with more tang. Ultimately, it was a satisfying meal but not necessarily something I craved to get again. But if i were to go back, I'd go with an omelet and something from the griddle. The service was attentive. We were given our drink orders right away and checked on multiple times. There was a busboy who was really attentive to fulfilling drink orders and cleaning tables once they became vacant. Amazing work ethic! Note: when you pay, you go up to the stand at the entrance to do so. Small parking lot shared with other shops, but there is some street parking. Although, we didnt go on a weekend so I imagine it's tough to find a spot during peak hours. Edited to add photos
Visited this breakfast shack while in Redlands with my best friend. We were asked to wait outside, which felt a bit odd since there wasn't anyone waiting just inside the door. The woman running the counter wasn't particularly warm or friendly--very efficient, but not inviting. The food was mediocre at best, though our server was really nice and attentive. The ambiance leans country chic, but if you're looking for something more upscale or welcoming, this probably isn't it.
Guys! It's breakfast time! I found this breakfast place while I was going home. So I took my kids here. A nice setting, and pretty easy to find it. Sat down and looked at the menu, and I was surprised to see that there is a loco moco! It's a Hawaiian style breakfast consist of two eggs, hamburger patty and rice with gravy. So we ordered that along with steak and eggs, chicken waffles plus pumpkin pancakes. The food was fulfilling and yummy. The waitresses were very nice and the service was very efficient. I didn't need to wait long. I appreciate that very much. When in Redlands area, come and visit! You won't be disappointed . Thanks breakfast shack
Nice, mom and pop joint. Their service is friendly and it hits home here. I would come again to get regular breakfast. Waffles were delish as probably would they the loco moco again. I think the loco moco has good flavor and the beef was cooked good. The only negative thing I would say is the rice tasted like rice pilaf with veggies. If it was just white rice, then I would order it again. - I didn't ask them if that was an option, maybe it is.
Updated review: Getting served by Maddie and Teresa again. This place is clean and is now officially my go to spot in Redlands for a country breakfast. Pancakes are huge. Good coffee served here, and I haven't had a bad choice on the menu. Span and eggs was an easy choice for me.
Delicious local spot here located in Redlands California, rather if you're craving lunch or breakfast, they have a wide selection. Staff is very friendly, service is prompt. The vibe is very cozy as if you're eating at your own place and it's very clean. I like how the menu is very broad rather you want to indulge or eat clean.
Excellent food & service. They accommodated our party of 9 immediately. Teresa did an AMAZING job taking care of us! For a large party, our food came quickly! 2 levels to this building and parking faces a door that doesn't open and you need To go up and around the corner to get in. Country music playing. Sign at the register has a chicken saying "I poop breakfast ". They give you 1 napkin. Waitress Lea was great - she loved the food and the area and had a warm smile. I got the crab cake Benedict. It was ok - I didn't love the sauce - it was slightly sweet. I will try the other Benedict's in my next visit. The made their own potato salad and coleslaw. They brew their own tea. The ranch is homemade.
It was the afternoon and we were craving breakfast, but our go-to spot, Carolyn Café, had already closed their waitlist. A good friend recommended Breakfast Shack, and after seeing their loco moco on Yelp, we were sold! We arrived about an hour before closing, hungry but with enough time to relax and decide. We were seated right away, and I ordered an orange juice--something I rarely do. To my surprise, it was delicious and super refreshing. For meals, our family ordered the Whole Farm, Breakfast Burrito, Loco Moco, and Croissant Sandwich. We were starving, but the portions were generous, and everything tasted great. The standout favorites were definitely the pancake and the loco moco. We'll definitely be back, though probably order a little less next time since we had so much leftover. For four people, the bill came out to about $20-$25 per person, which feels pretty reasonable these days. Service was solid, too--they kept our drinks refilled on what was a very hot day, and we appreciated it!
This place was really good my friend and I stopped by for a quick breakfast before driving back to San Diego. Typical breakfast spot ambiance not too quiet not too loud. Service was prompt, it was busy what looks to be lots of regulars that the waiters know which is always a good sign. And the food came out quick and was really good and they brought us all our requests for extra butter, etc no problem! Although it's mentioned parking can be tricky there was plenty of street parking when we went.
Eggs Benedict my favorite always comfort meal Server was pleasant and prompt Ambiance is just right for the mood Wife wasn't very hungry so I asked for an extra plate to share my meal. I must be behind the times because I was surprised that I was going to have to pay an extra $2.00 then I even more surprised to get a discount on my entire order. Left there content and totally satisfied
Food and prices were good! Will definitely be coming back. The restaurant is so cute and clean.
Me and brother visited for the 1st time. We were warmly greeted and sat promptly. Love how this place looks inside with many different seating options. Chris Stapleton playing in the background a plus. I ordered the corned beef hash with country potatoes and scrambled eggs. Also ordered the cinnamon roll bread pudding. Corned beef hash is not canned which is a plus. It wasn't the best hash I've had but way better than the canned. Eggs were scrambled nicely and loved country potatoes. The star of the show is the bread pudding not too sweet and does remind you of a cinnamon roll. A must get. My brother ordered chicken fried steak and he loved it. Definitely a place to try.

Came here on a Tuesday morning and it was bustling ! Cute little shack with a lower and an elevated dining room depending on which doors u come in. We waited about 10 minutes for a table for two. The service was really good all the woman working here were so so sweet to my boyfriend and i! I got the chicken and waffles while my boyfriend got the country fried steak. He loveddd it. You can tell his food was so fresh. My chicken and waffles looked a little sad compared to his. Though the chicken was good it seemed like frozen store brand tenders and they were really small :( But my waffle was super fresh and yummy. read more

Stopped by here with two friends in the middle of a bike ride. Well I'm not sure if you can call it a bike ride, we rode two miles hungover and wanted a break. This place had kinda outside seating where we could stash our bikes which was perfect. Our smart friend got the avocado toast, one friend got the breakfast burrito, and I got the country fried steak. These portions were enormous and everything was pretty good. I worked up more of a sweat eating than I did biking. Too full to bike home but luckily it was all downhill in the bike path. Great place to have breakfast. My husband and I had reservations to eat at Serrano Buffet at Yaamava Casino. Over 100 people in line....no thank you! So hubby searched for a place to eat and he found this place. As soon as you enter, it feels homey and food smells delicious. My hubby ordered the State St Omelet, which had bacon, sausage, mushrooms, spinach, onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, diced Ortega chiles and cheddar cheese. He got the hashbrowns and wheat toast with it. It was delicious! I was unsure of what to get and asked about their Loco Moco. Server said it was good and that Hawaaian natives enjoyed the dish so I went for it. Delicious!!!! It is fried rice topped with certified Angus Patty, and 2 eggs covered with gravy. You can make it a Big Kahuna and they add Spam. I got the eggs medium over. Cannot tell you how much I enjoyed eating this dish. Staff is super nice and very attentive. We do not live close, but we will definitely be back to try out more of their dishes! read more

This is only my second time here....this time my pancake was dry... glad I only ordered one .....my friend ordered ham & eggs with biscuit & gravy... she hardly tasted the biscuit & gravy because she said the biscuit was hard.... It's too bad... the waitresses are super friendly.....But our food was not great....it was after the breakfast rush.... not sure why.....11:30 am... Parking is really tough too.... Parking on the street or behind the building.... read more

Charming breakfast spot, tucked right in the middle of Redlands. Super comfortable, and welcoming . The hostess was sweet, and funny and the service was great. The food was pretty good, they had a wide variety. We went with biscuits and gravy breakfast and Cajun chicken an waffles. The waffles were buttery and cooked to perfection, chicken season well and not over cooked. The biscuits were a little on the more dense side but the gravy was to die for, topped off with a great cup of coffee who could ask for more! read more

My husband and I decided to have breakfast and lunch here today. I ordered the TBA, Turkey,bacon, Avocado with Swiss lettuce and tomato on a croissant. It was very good. Side choices were fries, coleslaw, sweet potatoes. My husband ordered the Eggs Benedict and hash brown crispy. He got three eggs where usually you get two eggs at other places. I liked this dish, came with plenty of sauce which some places don't add much sauce. The hash browns looked pretty well done. I've had them here, they were under cooked. It's got a nice looking interior, clean and welcoming. The service could improve. There was only a few people in the restaurant and our waitress talked to another table of people for 15 min while we waited to get our check. read more
One of the best breakfast places around! Located on W State St, between N Center St and Eureka St. There's very limited parking spots in front of the main entrance but street parking before and after Breakfast Shack. On the weekends this places gets pretty busy, so expect a bit of a wait for a table if you're not there early in the morning. They do have a good amount of seating, the place just gets busy. There's an upper area (main entrance) with four seater tables, along with an enclosed section that overlooks State Street. They also have seating in the lower section, with bar type seating. They offer a wide selection of food choices from omelettes, pancakes, benedicts, sandwiches, burgers, and a kids menu. My go-to though, is the Hatch chile omelette ! Although the breakfast burritos are really good to. Lastly, if you hit the restroom before you head out, you'll feel comfortable knowing it's kept clean. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. The food was mediocre, and the service was rude and inattentive -- I asked for napkins and was completely ignored. But the worst part? On my way out, I saw a massive roach crawling on the wall. Absolutely disgusting. I don't even want to imagine the conditions in their kitchen if that's what's crawling in the dining area. This place is filthy, careless, and completely unacceptable. Save yourself the time, money, and stomachache. read more

My wife and I Stumbled upon this amazing restaurant this morning. We were welcomed with warm smiles. Thresa was our waitress. She was absolutely amazing. So was the whole restaurant staff. This place gives me the vibes of how restaurants use to be. Some of the BEST chicken fried chicken breakfast I have had in a LONG time! The eggs were cooked just the way I like. Hot and buttery! Crispy hash browns and great hot coffee. Anytime we are in Redlands this place will be our first stop for top quality breakfast. read more

Great customer service and food option! It was my first time trying this so apparent local-favorite breakfast venue. My husband tried loco moco with spam suggested by by standing local customer and I tried waffle. They give a generous portion and the food was yummy. I also ordered mimosa and they actually use fresh orange as I could spot pulps. I will definitely come back again. read more

I have found myself returning to this breakfast joint when I'm in the hood seeing my peeps. This place gets busy on weekends so note there is some waiting to be had. Although the lot is tiny there is Ample street parking so don't fret. The menu is pretty extensive and has options for everyone. I stuck with the vege omelette and their strong coffee but my peeps liked the corn beef hash & crab cake Benedict. The ladies working there are quick & friendly and they get the job done right so tip well read more

Stopped by here for brunch. It was the first breakfast spot we saw on Yelp that was near us, and we made a great choice! The wait was probably like 15 minutes for 2 people since a lot of people were there to eat as well. I ordered a Bloody Mary and the Ultimate grilled cheese with potato salad. The grilled cheese was outstanding! I was unfortunately only able to eat half of it, the Bloody Mary filled me up! The Bloody Mary was really good. The potato salad was decent, but the grilled cheese is what stole the show for me! This place wasn't too expensive either. Average and below average prices. A breakfast shack indeed, but a very cute one. On a Sunday, there was only a 20-minute wait to be seated, which was great. It was a little closer to 30 minutes because we requested a table when the counter became available, which still isn't bad. I ordered "The Whole Farm," which is exactly how it sounds, a little bit of everything. I. This case it was a lot of everything. I loved the eggs. The sausage was good, but the bacon was my favorite part. The pancakes were tasty, the perfect amount of sweet and buttery. My only complaint with the food/beverages would be the coffee. It was not great and tasted pretty watered down. I ended up using more creamer to get rid of the watery taste, which didn't really help. The service was great. They checked in on us pretty often, and the food came out in a timely manner. Getting our check did take a little long, but they were pretty busy. Overall, it was a good experience, and I would recommend trying this place out. read more

Okay, I'm really sad to say but what the heck happened? We raved about this place to some friends of ours and brought them here for lunch today and wow, I was so embarrassed for making such a hype about how good this was. I didn't take pictures and hope that this is a one time thing, but I ordered the chili omelette with hashbrowns and coffee. My coffee cup was dirty and I never got refills. My food was lukewarm and the chili was burnt, it looked like how food does when it's been sitting in the bottom of the pan for a few hours and it starts to get crispy and dry around the edges, my hashbrowns were that same, warm, not hot, and burnt. I couldn't even eat it...I didn't want to make a big deal infront of our friends so I didn't complain but their food looked just as bad, it's so different from how it used to be...I will give them another try because the waitresses are all pretty nice, it's also a hometown cafe and I love to support local but it's got to be better than this! I regret not taking pictures, they certainly speak for themselves but from my previous reviews, you can see I'm not much on giving poor reviews anywhere unless it's really worthy... read more

Food was eh ok home potatoes were dry pancakes were also very dry service was ok ambiance was good As I sat inside 25 minutes waiting to be seated ,I saw a lot from the host /waitress passing up people and sitting others Maybe people she knew it was clear that was so rude Then when I left I tipped the man that was busting tables picking up Plates nonstop $5 I walked up to him handed it to him And I tipped $5 on my bill that was $40 Well a waitress saw me she then went to accuse him of taking money from table ! I was in disbelief I immediately cleared that out had to make it clear I gave him $5 dollars I thought he's Busting his butt and gave you $5 also that was awful ungodly. First and last here read more
