It's my first time having Georgian food so I didn't really know what to expect but the boat looked pretty cool so of course we had to try that! We got the beef, chicken, and also meat pie. There were also samples of the ideal cake and this was so good!! I want to get the full slice next time I come. The bread boat is like a better version of a pizza. The sauce and cheese are not mixed in yet and apparently you're supposed to mix them yourself and then dip the bread inside but I already devoured it all by the time I read the instructions LOL. It was still really good even without mixing. I'm normally not a fan of bread by itself but you can tell the sourdough is made fresh and you can see the staff rolling the dough. If I only had the meat pie, this would be 4 stars. The meat pie, while it is a big portion, it didn't have any sauce and tasted very salty. Bread boat is definitely the star! Love it. I was surprised that the restaurant is pretty small but it's nice for intimate gatherings.

Cute little cornershop with an indoor and outdoor section. It is counter service. We came right at 11am. The food came out really quickly. The staff dont speak much English but they were very nice and it added to the authenticity. We loved the kachapuri. And I ordered one to go for my husband. Our least favourite was the meat pie. I did not like the flavour of meat at all. I will be back and order the cheese pie next time. The cake and soda were good too

Cute place with an outdoor patio. The owner was very friendly, and explained the Georgian wine making process to us. We had the Pkhali platter which included a refreshing change of pace in flavors and textures. The Chicken Bread Boat included cheeses, butter, and egg and nicely seasoned chicken in a pizza-like dough. It was very satisfying!

Bread Boat was delicious! I went on a Sunday morning and it wasn't that busy. You order at the counter and self seat. Everything was quick and easy! Both the beef and chicken boat were very tasty. They are pretty large in size - one boat is good for two people!

This place is worth the spike in blood sugar, baby! Everything was delicious. Tried a meat pie (I do wish they offered smaller ones since it's a big boy, meant to be shared), a "bread boat" (khachapuri), and beef stew. Even the side bread that came with the beef stew was excellent. Flavorful meats and decadent breads, what more do you need?!

For lunch at bread boat in Austin! This is a unique dish of Gregorian cuisine, very hard to find here in Texas. The moment I walked into the establishment, I was hit with a wave of spices, if smelled so good but also so strong. They have an outdoor patio area with some fans. I tried the savory beef boat and the bacon bean boat, I also got an order of their house spicy Gregorian sauce on the side. The beef one was my favorite. The slow braised and tomatoes mixed with the egg was so flavorful and you basically just tear off pieces of the bread to dip in the middle. The egg has cheese and sticks of butter in it and is so good. The bacon bean boat has baked beans and bacon, topped with more bacon. I loved the bacon, the beans make it a very very heavy dish. The spicy sauce is a must have, it's a little tangy and the acidity adds to the complex flavor profile of every bite

This place was absolutely delicious. I got to try several of their bread boats including the classic, the chicken, the beef, and the bacon & cheese, and every single one was amazing. The bread was fresh, the fillings were rich, and the flavors were incredibly satisfying. We also tried their dessert, which was just as amazing.

I've had this place on my list to visit for months now after seeing it on instagram. I finally made it for lunch today and IT IS AMAZING. They have lunch portions of the bread boats which was the perfect size. I got the chicken and traditional and will definitely order that again in the future. It is baked fresh to order so be aware that it can take 15 or so minutes (probably longer during peak hours). It's worth it. The boat comes out steaming hot. I'm looking forward to coming back in the winter when it's cold.

Great place great food! The place is really nice with seating inside and outside. You can tell that the food is fresh and everything we had, had amazing flavor. You order at a kiosk and when your food is ready they bring it. We waited maybe 15 minutes for the food. We tried the classic boat, smoky bean boat and a garlic chicken which I could smell the garlic and seasoning from next to me. All were amazing. Would recommend and come back for sure.

Breadboat Austin delivers on the magic of Georgian khachapuri, and for cheese-and-egg lovers, it's every bit worth the wait. After years of daydreaming about this legendary "bread canoe", three of my favorite foods all melded together, I finally set out to try it. The journey was more epic than expected: three separate DoorDash mishaps and four long days of anticipation, each delivery drama building suspense rather than frustration. When the warm, golden loaf finally arrived, the first swirl of molten cheese and runny yolk in pillowy dough felt like a victory lap. The classic Adjaruli khachapuri at Breadboat is everything you'd hope, gooey, savory, and deeply comforting. Even compared to Austin's other cheesy carb offerings, the unique funk of Georgian cheese and the ritual of tearing and dipping truly set it apart. All this, after my mini saga, made the first bite an absolute triumph: Breadboat isn't just hype. For those who crave cheese, egg, and bread, it's a must-try - just maybe pick it up in person.

I was excited to see another Georgian restaurant pop up in Austin area and had to try it. As their name suggests, they have bread boats or adjaruli khachapuri, but with meat and other toppings which I haven't seen elsewhere. We tried the herbed chicken and savory beef bread boats, the special beets dish, and a megruli cheese pie. I highly recommend the beef bread boat and the cheese pie, which was simple but amazing cheesy bread. The others were good but the chicken tasted like Mexican chicken so it wasn't as special for me and the beets come with a sour plum sauce which I love but the beets themselves were ok and a bit pricy. They have a kiosk to order from and the kitchen is open so the staff if right there to help you with the menu and you can see them making the boats. The space is nice and there's a side patio area that looks nice too.

Absolutely love this place! I got the savory beef boat and the megruli (cheese pie). The bread boat is fabulous. The bread is light and fluffy with a nice crust. The beef stew and cheese mixture is delicious, and I loved the spices in it. I recommend getting the house sauce with the cheese pie to add a little kick. The service can be a bit slow, but that is because they are making your food on the spot. The dishes came out hot and steaming. They've got a few places to sit inside and outside. I can't recommend this place enough.

Delicious food! First time trying Georgian cuisine and will definitely be back. Bread boats are large portions and enough to split for 2.

Fantastic breakfast and an even better server!…read more We had an absolutely great experience at Phoebe's Diner Downtown. Our server, Halley, deserves HUGE praise. She was friendly, attentive, welcoming, and made the whole experience that much better. Everyone we encountered was genuinely friendly and happy to be there. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. I had the Badass Bacon & Eggs ($14.99) and it was outstanding. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the hash brown casserole was fantastic -- but the bacon was over the top! Thick, flavorful, and seriously some of the best bacon I've had at a diner. You have to try it! We also had the Migas ($15.99) -- fluffy eggs with onion, tomato, Hatch chiles, Hatch chile hollandaise, cotija, crispy masa cakes and red potatoes. Tons of flavor and another winner. And don't skip the coffee! Phoebe's serves locally roasted Texas Coffee Traders coffee, and it was excellent. Everything about our visit was great -- the food, the coffee, the atmosphere, and especially the friendly service. Halley was fantastic! If you're in downtown Austin looking for a great breakfast, put Phoebe's Diner on your list. You won't be disappointed.

Servers & service were good. Workers were friendly. Nice, clean diner vibe…read more It's located across the street from a courthouse downtown so there's a lot of reserved street parking & not as much immediate parking in front but you can get lucky & find street parking around the corner. There's a sign by the front door that gives you parking options. I was really torn with what choices to make... Pancake vs French toast: Pancakes were a little mushy/gummy for my taste. They are light but less sweet than many other pancakes. I'm typically pretty light on the syrup but I added more syrup for the sweetness. They are good, just less sweet. Next time I'd try the French toast which is made with thick brioche bread. Bacon vs sausage: Bacon is thick, not greasy you bite it like a piece of chewy pork, it's good; the smoked sausage is great! It's a little spicy, full of flavor. Eggs with onion added were quite flavorful. It was a good breakfast diner experience.
