Juan Don Juan- El Taco Grande
    Dora S.

Post easter brunch!! Got my meal within 5 minutes of ordering and man are their serving sizes something to remember. Staff is energetic and nice. Only critique is their salsa is way too spicy that its not enjoyable and i eat spicy food! This was too spicy where it was painful to eat!

Austin breakfast stop you gotta try.

Juan in a Million is the kind of Austin spot that makes you understand why everyone loves Austin. I got the Don Juan and I don't remember the last time I had a breakfast combo that felt that perfect. It's hearty, and hits every single breakfast craving at once. I didn't even get a picture because it was too good to pause. The service was absolutely incredible, especially considering they were packed. I will be back the very first morning the day I come back to Austin! If you're in Austin and like breakfast go get the Don Juan!

I can't believe I've lived in Austin for years and had never been here! It's as good as they say. Classic Tex Mex menu, huge portion sizes, and 100% delicious. There might be a small wait at busy times, but they are super efficient at getting people in and out. It's an East Austin classic for a reason!

Solid breakfast tacos. The barbacoa taco was very good. Moist and flavorful. The chorizo, egg and cheese taco was excellent. Service was fast and friendly.

This is probably the most popular Mexican restaurant in Austin. There usually a waiting line especially on the weekend. Burrito are huge and good value. Breakfast is pretty good, it is hearty, fresh tortilla goes well with the meal. It would be better if they have chilaquiles. For a popular Mexican restaurant, it is strange that they don't offer it.

Overall, Juan In A Million is a decent option for breakfast, brunch, or lunch when you're craving Mexican food. It isn't going to blow you away but you can order the Don Juan El Taco Grande with some extra tortillas and have a super affordable meal! FAST FACTS: * Parking: there's some parking around the building and a lot next door * Online ordering: available on their website * Delivery: available on their website * Daily specials Monday through Friday * Family owned for over 45 years... great option for supporting local restaurants PRICING - The total was $53.25 after tax ($4.05) but before tip for: - Coffee: $3.25 (ordered 2 but only charged for 1) - Don Juan El Taco Grande: $8.75 - 4 extra tortillas: $1.00 ($0.25 each) - Huevos A La Mexicana Plate: $13.95 - Con Queso Breakfast Plate: $14.75 - Chile Con Queso (8 oz): $7.50 - Complimentary chips and salsa SERVICE - Fantastic! We arrived around 11:30 am on a Saturday and were seated after about a 5 minute wait. Several servers took care of us by refilling our waters and coffees but Felix was our main server... he took our order shortly after getting seated and our food came out quickly. DON JUAN EL TACO GRANDE (8/10) - Best deal on the menu! Order some extra tortillas because it's a MASSIVE portion. It's a little dry but you can add the complimentary salsa on top. This will always be my go-to because it's super filling for the price! HUEVOS A LA MEXICANA PLATE (7/10) - The eggs come scrambled with jalapeños, tomatoes, and onions but definitely needed some seasoning. The diced potatoes needed salt as well and are more "wet" than crispy. You can choose corn or flour tortillas for the side (I was given 3 corn tortillas instead of 2). CON QUESO BREAKFAST PLATE (8/10) - Super saucy and delicious! Again, the diced potatoes needed salt and weren't crispy but the queso was the perfect consistency and the carne guisada was incredibly tender. You can choose corn or flour tortillas for the side but I recommend ordering extra to soak up the extra queso. CHILE CON QUESO (6/10) - The taste and consistency is great but $7.50 for a small cup seems pricey considering the Don Juan El Taco Grande is only $8.75. I wouldn't order this again. The tortillas are nothing special which is a little disappointing but you get decent portions of food and great service. I'd recommend Juan In a Million to anyone in the area but wouldn't tell people to go out of their way to try it.

I don't give out 5 stars often, but this place was amazing! We walked in and were seated immediately. The lines did get long later in the morning on Saturday closer to 9:30 AM. There's parking in the back that's free until 3 PM. My husband got the grande taco and the migas taco and I got the huevos rancheros with one egg. You have to ask for the green salsa to come with the chips, but both the red and green salsa served table top were a little spicy. The migas tacos had good melted cheese, and their grande taco was enough to make almost 5 breakfast tacos. I loved the ranchero sauce on the huevos rancheros. I would definitely order it again. Service was amazing. Our coffee and water was refilled consistently. They have it down that you can get in and out pretty quickly. They do not sit you until your whole party is there, but there is a lot of seating inside the small building. We are from out of town, but will definitely come back here again if we are ever in Austin

5 stars mostly based off of value, 4 stars for actual food. Came in to Juan In a Million for brunch and our party of 7 were able to split 4 plates. Granted, we weren't super hungry, but the value here is unparalleled! I've only ever gotten the Don Juan here, but this time we ordered a couple other plates. Of everything we ordered, I liked the Chorizo Con Huevo the most. I felt like it was flavorful and was a nice mixup from my usual. We were promptly seated outside and I appreciate that their patio is shaded and have fans blasting. Towards the end of the meal I started to get warm, naturally due to the heat, but they do a good job of keeping it as cool as possible. Service was decent, and food came out fast. Pay at the counter after your meal! Parking lot in the back is a bit small, but there's some free parking.

Always great food and great service. We showed up at 9:30 for a group of 3 and were seated within 20 min or so. Don't let the line fool you! Menudo was delicious and flavorful, the Don Juan taco was huge and definitely enough for two. Do yourself a favor and grab a lemonade as well. Soo fresh!

Every time I go here or order from Uber Eats, I can't help but to think of the Statue of Liberty opening ceremony from Miss Congeniality. The Don Juan breakfast taco with an extra order of Salsa is my go to. This time I also threw in a horchata! Didn't disappoint!

    Limairy C.

My husband & I stopped by because we were craving some Mexican food & had heard pretty good things about this place. My husband got the meat plate, it wasn't so good... kinda chewy. My chorizo plate was good! I enjoyed it truly, along with flour tortillas. Our server (don't recall his name) was very friendly & made our experience great! Keep it up with the friendly servers!

breakfast Don Juan- El Taco Grande and Quesadillas
    Stephanie A.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! favorite authentic joint on the east side with MASSIVE portions. I highly recommend the massive breakfast taco which can feed you for breakfast lunch and maybe dinner and the quesadilla with chicken!!! the service is also fast, you sit down order and within minutes your food is out pipping hot! you show up and put your name on the list, if you're late on a weekend expect a longer wait (20 mins) but nothing ever crazy!

Small size menudo. Asked for onion and cilantro on side.
    Andrea H.

Delicious menudo that wasn't too salty or oily which I loved. Great flavor but light enough where I didn't feel lethargic afterwards. Comes with either flour or corn tortillas. I tried both and they were both good but the flour was pillowy and chewy delicious. Service was quick and excellent. Showed up at 10am on a Saturday and there was a line but moved relatively quickly.

What kind of cheese do y'all use?

    Do they have parking?

Yes, and you can also park in the lot next door

    Do they serve corn tortillas?

Hi Cristal, yes they do serve corn tortillas! They'll ask for your preference between corn and flour when taking your order :).

    Do they have music?

I don't remember music being played but I could be wrong. I wasn't paying attention

Do they use soy in their food? Friend has an allergy but we'd really like to eat here

I don't believe so. All natural ingredients. But you can mention it and they will definitely accommodate your needs.

Can they accommodate large groups? Edit: group size 19...

Define "large"? But I'd think they could just fine - they have their main room then two addon spaces attached that could host a lot. I'd call and ask for reserving the spaces.

Are the totillas hand made at the location?

No, they are not hand made. There are a few restaurants that make their tortillas on-site (manually or mechanically assisted), however. For instance, Chuy's and Serranos for a family dine-in joints and Taco Cabana as a fast-casual joint to name a… Read more

Will they play the game with sound? I heard they don't have audio

No. It's not a sports bar. TV is always on mute.

    Is the restaurant Dog friendly?

Don't think so, since you had to go thru the inside of the restaurant to get to the patio. Tight space that may not be ideal for dawgs.

Do they take to go orders?

    Yes!

What time should I get there on a Sunday morning? Monday morning?

I think the earlier the better especially on Sunday. The line does move fast but the wait is outside I cant imagine you would ever have to wait more than 30 minutes at peak… Read more

Unfortunately, the kitchen just wasn't on their game this day. We went for brunch and it is a lovely restaurant with some amazing looking pastries. My ratings of the food we got are below. Overall, everything was just okay and not something I would order again. Our order: Salami and cheese - 1/10, not even edible with how much olive oil they dumped on it. Hard cheese and meat. None of us touched it. Frites - 9/10, hard to go wrong here. Nice and crispy French cruller - 7/10, I think this is just personal presence here I wished it was warmed up. Flavor was good but it was a little dry. Burger - 5/10, the flavor is there and definitely has potential but it was so bloody and rare which is not what we asked for. My friend has a gluten allergy and she asked for the burger lettuce wrapped and it just came on top of a huge chunk of iceberg so wouldn't recommend that if you want it lettuce wrapped. Chicken sandwich - 8/10, this was good with a nice crispy chicken. It could have used something sweet to balance the spice though it was a little one dimensional.

We were both starving and this place is open 24/7. I drove by it for 20 years on the way to Avenue Barber Shop. I wanted shredded beef tacos but couldn't get them without cilantro so I chose shredded beef enchiladas (with an $8!) side of chips and salsa. My wife ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and home fries. She requested soft eggs, as she always does because too many places overcook them. The chips and salsa arrived. I was immediately disappointed. The menu said "we make our own chips." They were thick and yellow and appeared to be run-of-the-mill, out-of-a-bag chips. I prefer the thin white ones. I took one bite of salsa, and that was one bite too many. Cumin. I pushed it all aside. Cumin doesn't belong in salsa. (Sorry. I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley.) My enchiladas came with black beans, and there was cumin in them. Cumin is overused and abused in most restaurants. I couldn't eat them. The rice was good but the chipotle sauce on the enchiladas was not. I scraped most of the sauce off and ate one enchilada, mainly because I just needed something in my stomach. We were still 45 miles from home. I pushed my plate away. I also ordered coffee. One sip of that was all I could stand. Too weak for me. It gets worse, much worse. My wife's eggs were barely cooked. She asked the waiter for some cooked eggs. He took her plate and returned about four minutes later. The eggs were still not cooked. She tried another bite but couldn't eat them. Her bacon was tough as a boot and not chewable. The home fries were average, but by the time her plate arrived at our table for the second time, they were cold. I pulled my card out waiting for our excellent server to return. He asked how everything was (he had to notice two plates still covered with food) and we politely told him. I ate one enchilada and some rice. My wife had two bites of egg and two bites of potato. He apologized and handed me the check. $65. Nothing comped and nothing adjusted. A manager should've been summoned. How does a place like this have any customers? It was our first and last visit.
