Found this place by luck trying to kill a little time. The price and the amount of eggs in the tacos were amazingly great!!! I have to remember this place when I am in the area!!! Highly recommend this restaurant!! Service was great as well!!

I have to thank InKind for helping me discover this place! They always give me free credits and one day I had $25 credit and when I looked at what nearby restaurants I could use it at, Kesos Tacos (right up Springdale from me) was on the list. I would compare their themed tacos to Torchy's a little, but I think Kesos is healthier cause they have beans and more veggies like spinach in their breakfast tacos. I love the Rise & Shine which is packed with chorizo, bacon, pork carnitas, eggs, jalapeño, refried beans, and queso!!! Also if you're craving a margarita, they have To-Go margaritas that are on sale Mon to Fri 3p-6p for only $3!!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]We came by around 6 on a Saturday and the place was surprisingly dead.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm guessing they cater to the late night crowd but I wasn't complaining about an easy parking spot. We came in time for happy hour so we started with a couple margs and queso. The margs were great, the queso was a little more watery than I tend to like. We ordered two fajita tacos and two carnitas. All were solid. Tortillas were nothing special but the meat was good. My favorite part of the meal was the salsa bar though. Each was unique and filled with flavor.

Quick service and food was good... The woman at the counter was kind and was quick to service. Us also brought our food out in a timely manner.

My husband and I stopped by here for some tacos as a break from our bike ride. We parked, walked in and saw the menus posted. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is clean and bright with seating inside and outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When it was our turn to order a friendly woman greeted us with a smile and took our order. She also repeated it back to us to make sure it was correct. We got a number and then sat outside. We waited outside for our chips and salsa and our tacos. A friendly person brought us our food. The chips and salsa were good. The salsa was very tasty and the tortilla chips were crispy. For my meal I ordered the Migas Breakfast Taco which comes with scrambled eggs, pico de gallo, tortilla chips, and queso on a flour tortilla. I opted to not have pico on mine. The taco was good. The eggs were decent. The tortilla chips were not crispy but they were cooked with the eggs so I expected that. The queso was good and lightly spread out on the taco which I appreciated. I also ordered the potato and egg taco which had potato, scrambled eggs and queso on a flour tortilla. This taco was also good. This combination of ingredients filled me up. On both of my tacos I added some avacado salsa that I got from the salsa bar. It was good and added a little more flavor to both of my tacos. My husband ordered the Longhorn taco which comes with scrambled eggs, potato, fajita beef, and queso on a flour tortilla. He said it was good. He also ordered the Fire Chick taco which is fried chicken that's red on the exterior, lettuce, pico de gallo, cilantro ranch, and queso on a flour tortilla. He opted for no pico de gallo and no queso. He really liked this taco. Overall it was great service with friendly people working there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a nice, clean restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and good food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My husband and I will probably return in the future.

    MIMOSAS

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!! Came for the 1$ mimosas and they are so good. The tacos are also amazing I got the rise and shine - top tier. The workers are literally the sweetest ever and [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love sitting on the patio outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Def reccomend

Stopped in here on a whim on the way home after vacation. So glad we did!! We ordered four tacos and some chips and queso. Food was fantastic!! The salsa tastes super fresh. The staff was incredibly patient and helpful with these two newbies. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super cute spot too with lots of outdoor and indoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Puerta Rojo (I think). Super most Carnitas with wonderful toppings.
    Ebone' W.

My taco was huge!! I ordered the Puerta Rojo and was content off just 1! It was super moist, and the toppings mixed together well. I'd see if I could get guacamole ( mashed avocado) next time vs. slices, but that's a personal preference. Don't come thinking you're going to pay 'street taco' prices, because you're not... think more fancy, like Velvet Taco or something like that. Even with that, they have several options, and food comes quickly. I liked it...try it out.

I come here at least once a week with my friend and I've tried almost everything on the menu and it's always incredible. Doris always helps us out and is so welcoming to us, she really makes our time here so wonderful! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe here is so great and I wish more people tried this place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food rec: get the barbacoa and queso flight !!

Barbacoa Tacos, Potato & Egg (V), Queso & Chips

My friend and I come here every week to hang out and get some tacos!! The food is so good and the queso is always amazing!! Every time we come in, Doris is always so sweet to us and consistently provides the best service! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Their restaurant is so cute and a great place to hang out![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One of my favorite spots near campus for sure! Make sure to try the breakfast tacos!!

Cute little taco spot that serves all day breakfast tacos and daily drink specials. The portions were very generous and tasted fresh. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They offer indoor and outdoor patio seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was quick and friendly! Great variety of taco selections as well.

I ordered an al pastor, lengua, and asada taco, and honestly, they were all so good. The asada was my favorite, but the other two were right behind it. The meat was flavorful, and the salsas had some heat to them, which I appreciated!!! My boyfriend ordered the chicken burrito, and it was just okay. The chicken was shredded and could've used a little more seasoning for my taste. I'm also not a huge fan of lettuce in a burrito, so that may have played a part in it not being my favorite. That being said, I'm definitely coming back because those tacos were SO good. Next time, I want to give the burrito another shot and order it my way. Sixth Street's neon and noise are basically next door, the Capitol sits up the hill, and the whole area is packed with people, bars, and that classic Austin mix of polished downtown hustle and late-night chaos. Velvet Taco is pure counter-service: you walk right up, order at the register, and then grab a seat. There's plenty of seating, so even with a couple of kids in tow it was no problem finding a spot. The place leans hard into what can only be called white-people tacos--soft, sad flour tortillas that taste like they came straight out of a grocery-store package, loaded with every wild creation the kitchen can invent. Global mashups, brunch hybrids, burger impostors, the works. No one is pretending these are the real deal. I went for the chicken-and-waffles taco, which was actually built on a thin, real waffle instead of a tortilla. Surprisingly good--crispy, a little sweet, chicken holding its own. The burger taco tasted exactly like a cheeseburger that had wandered into a tortilla and decided to stay. We also tried the shrimp taco (fine), one daughter got the kids' chicken taco (perfectly kid-level), and the other ordered the chicken tikka (spicy, saucy, and very much in the "why is this on a tortilla?" category). Everything was okay. Comparable to Torchy's in that same creative-American-taco lane. If you're looking for a true Mexican taco, stay far away. But if you just want to play around with some decent flavors on a cheap flour store-bought tortilla while sitting in the middle of downtown Austin, this is your spot. Not my favorite. Glad I tried it. Won't be back.

I ordered 4 tacos: the migas, migas poblano, shrimp macha (!!), and the Dona Reyna tacos. All of these specific tacos were priced between $6 and $6.75 per taco, not bad in Austin, and not bad considering the quality of said tacos. As you can see from my order, I opted on the more "novel" choices and they did not disappoint; that said, I do HIGHLY recommend the two variations of the migas taco and the shrimp macha taco. Oh, the shrimp macha was so FIRE, the flavors were bold and smoky with a kiss of heat. The migas tacos were FULLY LOADED, and the scramble with the tortilla chips were flavorul. The steak taco had too much fat in it. If I was strictly bashing this review on the food. I'd give it a three. It's not worth the price. Now, the service seemed to be decent until I didn't put a tip on my takeout order. Things seemed to go south. When my name was called, I grabbed the small paper bag and paused. No guacamole.
