I have to thank InKind for helping me discover this place! They always give me free credits and one day I had $25 credit and when I looked at what nearby restaurants I could use it at, Kesos Tacos (right up Springdale from me) was on the list. I would compare their themed tacos to Torchy's a little, but I think Kesos is healthier cause they have beans and more veggies like spinach in their breakfast tacos. I love the Rise & Shine which is packed with chorizo, bacon, pork carnitas, eggs, jalapeño, refried beans, and queso!!! Also if you're craving a margarita, they have To-Go margaritas that are on sale Mon to Fri 3p-6p for only $3!!
Found this place by luck trying to kill a little time. The price and the amount of eggs in the tacos were amazingly great!!! I have to remember this place when I am in the area!!! Highly recommend this restaurant!! Service was great as well!!

We came by around 6 on a Saturday and the place was surprisingly dead. I'm guessing they cater to the late night crowd but I wasn't complaining about an easy parking spot. We came in time for happy hour so we started with a couple margs and queso. The margs were great, the queso was a little more watery than I tend to like. We ordered two fajita tacos and two carnitas. All were solid. Tortillas were nothing special but the meat was good. My favorite part of the meal was the salsa bar though. Each was unique and filled with flavor.
Quick service and food was good... The woman at the counter was kind and was quick to service. Us also brought our food out in a timely manner.
My husband and I stopped by here for some tacos as a break from our bike ride. We parked, walked in and saw the menus posted. The restaurant is clean and bright with seating inside and outside. When it was our turn to order a friendly woman greeted us with a smile and took our order. She also repeated it back to us to make sure it was correct. We got a number and then sat outside. We waited outside for our chips and salsa and our tacos. A friendly person brought us our food. The chips and salsa were good. The salsa was very tasty and the tortilla chips were crispy. For my meal I ordered the Migas Breakfast Taco which comes with scrambled eggs, pico de gallo, tortilla chips, and queso on a flour tortilla. I opted to not have pico on mine. The taco was good. The eggs were decent. The tortilla chips were not crispy but they were cooked with the eggs so I expected that. The queso was good and lightly spread out on the taco which I appreciated. I also ordered the potato and egg taco which had potato, scrambled eggs and queso on a flour tortilla. This taco was also good. This combination of ingredients filled me up. On both of my tacos I added some avacado salsa that I got from the salsa bar. It was good and added a little more flavor to both of my tacos. My husband ordered the Longhorn taco which comes with scrambled eggs, potato, fajita beef, and queso on a flour tortilla. He said it was good. He also ordered the Fire Chick taco which is fried chicken that's red on the exterior, lettuce, pico de gallo, cilantro ranch, and queso on a flour tortilla. He opted for no pico de gallo and no queso. He really liked this taco. Overall it was great service with friendly people working there. It's a nice, clean restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and good food. My husband and I will probably return in the future.
My taco was huge!! I ordered the Puerta Rojo and was content off just 1! It was super moist, and the toppings mixed together well. I'd see if I could get guacamole ( mashed avocado) next time vs. slices, but that's a personal preference. Don't come thinking you're going to pay 'street taco' prices, because you're not... think more fancy, like Velvet Taco or something like that. Even with that, they have several options, and food comes quickly. I liked it...try it out.

Doris always helps us out and is so welcoming to us, she really makes our time here so wonderful! The vibe here is so great and I wish more people tried this place. Food rec: get the barbacoa and queso flight !!

Every time we come in, Doris is always so sweet to us and consistently provides the best service! Their restaurant is so cute and a great place to hang out! One of my favorite spots near campus for sure! Make sure to try the breakfast tacos!!
Cute little taco spot that serves all day breakfast tacos and daily drink specials. The portions were very generous and tasted fresh. They offer indoor and outdoor patio seating. The service was quick and friendly! Great variety of taco selections as well.

I came in fully craving a burger--but not one from a place with a million locations across Texas. On our walk, we spotted this slightly faded sign for Kesos Tacos, and something about it just felt right... so we followed the instinct. First impression? I noticed the $1 mimosas with brunch (say less). My husband, meanwhile, immediately clocked the prices and raised an eyebrow. I had to remind him: this is Texas--tacos are not small here. So... who won? We both did. We ordered the Don Keso, which quickly came out with an absolute mountain of chips (no skimping here). The queso paired perfectly with their salsas--especially because the salsas are light on salt, letting all the flavors shine without overpowering the richness. The tacos came out shortly after and completely proved my point--massive, loaded, and worth every penny. My husband went from skeptical to fully locked in, happily feasting on his plate--and he loved the Fire Chick taco. The standout for me was the puerco rojo taco--juicy, flavorful, and just messy enough to remind you it's the real deal. The habanero salsa had a great kick without being overwhelming. By the end of the meal, my husband literally thanked me for not dragging us to some overpriced "fancy" spot. This place delivers big flavor, big portions, and a laid-back vibe that just works. Bottom line: Skip the chains. Trust the faded sign. read more

Miguel is so awesome came for the one dollar mimosas. I can't believe there aren't more people that come here please recommend bring all of your friends. The tacos are literally so good. The drinks are so good. I love this place and I love Miguel. read more

Located off the MLK highway, this cute little taco joint is nice. Ordered fried avocado, fire chick, chicken fajita, pollo flaco tacos as well as frozen lime margarita, queso and chips, and many salsas. Our favorite salsas were the red and habanero. There are/may be even better taco/marg places out there, but found this one to be good for a quick bite and to get your taco fix. I can't remember which of the tacos we liked best. The queso and chips was okay, but the queso is more on the milky side than flavor side. Staff/service was good and quick, you can also fill up your own sauces which is nice. Restaurant has a lot of seating with painted walls and animations. Recommend going to try all the flavor profiles of sauces. read more

Wanted a taco place serving both lunch and breakfast all day. Found this place, nice interior and friendly staff. There is online ordering from your table, so it's super easy to customize your tacos. Took about 5 minutes for them to be delivered to us. Overall the tacos were good, nothing spectacular but worth the stop for the price. read more
Food was super fresh and tasted great! The server and cashier was super nice and even fixed a mistake in the order really quick. The restaurant itself is really clean and seems like a nice place to get food during the work week. We stopped in before the Jonas brothers concert and it was enjoyable and held us over through the night! read more
The food was ok. I had baja shrimp taco and chips and queso. The service was good and fast. I would go back if I happened to be in the area and wanted a taco but I would drive all the way downtown to get it. Again, the food wasn't bad. It just wasn't anything great. read more

This place was very clean and the service was great. I ordered nachos and my husband ordered two tacos. Everything was fresh and delicious. The margarita lacked alcohol and I'm a lightweight. The nachos could have used more meat. My husband had more meat on his $4 tacos. Overall, this was a great experience. read more

Solid tacos done right. Nothing super fancy here just good ingredients, tasty salsas, and great tortillas. The Barbacoa taco was very good but the star of the show was the Mr. Toro. Excellent cuts of sirloin and the pico and black beans mixture was a nice combination. Service was prompt and friendly. read more

Hi Johnathan CEO! And general manager Juan D!I just wanted to share with you my negative experience today. I order a barbacoa taco and it had a bad taste so I asked Juan D the manager if I could return it for another taco. He said straight out said no and I asked again I'm sorry but it taste bad but I did enjoy my Mr.Toro taco. His response was straight out no! I wont and why should I? He then replied tell me why and what was wrong with the taco so I repeated my self a third time. It has a bad taste and the meat is mushy. Needless to say he did refund my money either for the taco. I had just mentioned to all my coworkers here at work how great kesos tacos were when I use to buy them when I lived south Austin. When I got back to work I shared my experience and they responded that they will not be going there. Thanks for listening! read more
Man that was fire. We ordered 4 tacos and ended up getting 1 more even though we're already full. My personal rankings: 1- Puerco Rojo 2- Rise N Shine 3- Classico 4- John Special 5- Chicken Fajitas I wish we tried more but we're only here for a short amount of time and have a limited stomach space! The tacos are pretty large, two is a solid meal ready. The inside is charming with the Austin mural. The cashiers are very friendly and welcoming. The food is authentic as it gets and the breakfast taco which I guess is popular in Austin was really good. read more

Amazing spot! The place is beautifully decorated, with lots of light streaming in and a gorgeous mural. Dropped by here for lunch on a Wednesday and it had a lot of people, but not too busy that we couldn't find a seat. They're not playing with their hot sauce bar, they were so so spicy but amazing! I got the shrimp taco while my friends got the chicken and veggie. All of us really enjoyed them and the portions were quite big for a taco. The grande nachos were a hit too and they tasted so so fresh. Not that greasy mess with soggy chips. They gave us a generous serving of guac which was super fresh and flavorful and the chips tasted like they were made in house. All in all it was a great experience. read more
I would compare the quality of Kesos to Torchy's. The tacos are good, although there are many better options in Austin. I've tried the migas, baja shrimp, classico, puerco rojo, and islander tacos. The baja shrimp and puerco rojo were my favourites. The shrimp in the islander has a strange taste, so I would definitely recommend the baja shrimp over it. There is a parking lot, and it's never busy when I go there. read more
