We absolutely love to eat khachapuria. When we saw it on the menu we knew we needed to try it out! It did not disappoint!

Khinkali are nothing short of a revelation. These giant Georgian dumplings are perfectly designed finger food, a complete meal in every compact package. Unlike other dumplings, you're meant to grab the top knot like a handle and take a bite out of the juicy parcel full of mushrooms, in this case, steaming and sprinkled with a liberal amount of black pepper. I've long dreamed of trying them and finally had the opportunity here It's a bucket list-type of must eat dish. Before I hear cries of "Cedar Park is too far!", no, it's not. It's much closer than Georgia (the country, not the state, to be clear) got vegan mushroom khinkali and ABSOLUTELY worth the trip from anywhere in Texas. read more

I had been wanting to try this Georgian restaurant in Cedar Park for a while, and I finally made it in for an early dinner with my boyfriend. Georgian cuisine isn't something you see everywhere in the Austin area, so I was really excited to explore the menu and try something different. I was tempted by the Georgian cheese-and-egg flatbread, but since I wasn't extremely hungry, I chose the village platter instead. It was a very vegetarian-friendly option with a variety of pickled vegetables, lobio, which is a red bean Georgian stew, and authentic Georgian cornbread. The platter really did feel like something meant for sharing, which makes sense given the name, but I enjoyed trying a little bit of everything. My boyfriend ordered a chicken dumpling stew and really enjoyed it, and we also shared the mushroom khinkali, which are Georgian dumplings. I appreciated that they had a mushroom version in addition to the meat options. Our waitress showed us the proper way to eat them: hold the top "stem," flip the dumpling upside down, and eat the filled portion first. Traditionally, you don't eat the stem, but I did anyway, especially when combined with the stew, because it was doughy and delicious. The dessert menu also had several interesting options, including one I had previously tried while traveling in Belgrade, Serbia. I was too full to order dessert this time, but it definitely gives me a reason to come back and try more. Overall, I'm so glad places like this exist in the Austin area. It's easy to find the usual bar food, American food, Tex-Mex food, or Italian food, but restaurants dedicated to a specific regional cuisine make dining out feel exciting and more worldly. This was a memorable meal, and I'd definitely return to try more of the menu. read more

This was my first time trying Georgian cuisine and what an interesting experience it was! I've driven by Sami Sumeli many times and always been curious. Finally made it and brought the whole family along. We ordered a few items to share: 1. Khachapuri - the star of the show. My kids adored this "fondue in a bread boat". Cheese mixed with egg yolk and delicious homemade baked bread to dip with. This was a huge hit! 2. Mushroom Khinkali Dumplings - very flavorful soupy dumplings stuffed with sautéed mushrooms. Everyone loved these. I wish they served more than just 3 per order. Portion size could've been a little more generous. 3. Beet Salad - super flavorful and very good! 4. Chicken Kebab - this was sadly a disappointment. Very dry and lacked flavor. The rice it was served with was tasty though. Enjoyed glasses of Georgian wine with our meal, which were crisp and refreshing. They also offer wine flights. Worth a visit! read more

Great experience! We loved everything we got! You must order the Life (sea buckthorn) tea! We wished there had been more pita slices with the phali appetizer though, it wasn't enough to eat the spreads with. The mushroom khinkali was so savory and flavorful. We followed the waitress's instructions to not eat the "neck", which traditionally is just the "handle" to eat them by, but we sure wanted to! We think there were several vegetarian options but the menu is not marked for Vegetarian or Vegan options, that would be nice though! The village platter was a great way to try lots of different picked things too! The mini honey cake was the perfect end to the meal. We'll definitely be back for happy hour to try the bread boats! The drinks looked amazing and they had a gorgeous bar area. The inside I felt really nice! read more

I was craving kebabs and was in the Cedar Park area. I saw this restaurant pop up on Google and I've never had Georgian food before so I wanted to try it out. Super cute decor and the staff were friendly. We ordered khachapuris and Lula Kebab Lamb. The khachapuris was yummy and should definitely be eaten when warm. It does kinda make a mess when you pull the bread apart to dip it into the cheese sauce. I enjoyed it a lot though. We got lamb kebabs and the lamb was really good. The rice was a little dry, but I liked it. The sour cabbage was okay, it had an odd aftertaste. The desserts looked really good and I definitely wanna try them another time. read more

Stopped by for early dinner on a Wednesday night because we wanted to try something new! It's to the left of the steam train station when facing the entrance of it. Our waiter was very kind and patient to explain the menu since we never had Georgian food before. Unfortunately, all the beers we tried to order were out of stock and he was nice enough to comp it for my S/O. I opted for the pomegranate 75 and enjoyed it! Our appetizer was the beef khinkali and adjarian khachapuri. The khinkali is a dumpling that has a thicker dough wrapping compared to the Asian counterpart, especially at the top. I think I would give the beef/pork one a try before I say it's not for me. The adjarian khachapuri does come with a raw egg but the freshly hot bread and cheese will cook it and melt the butter. It's so creamy! The bread had a crispy outside and soft inside. They complimented each other well. The chakhohbili was simple but good. It was like a chicken and tomato soup. For some, it may be too plain but I felt like it's a good no frills dish. The shkmeruli was a little bland for us. It felt like the creamy version of the chakhohbili but somehow less flavor? Just wasn't for us :) I didn't want to order kebabs/skewers since I could get that anywhere but I'm interested in coming back to try their version! read more

Service: Our server was wonderful! He checked on us frequently and made some really great recommendations! Food: This was my first time trying Georgian food and I was immediately impressed! The dishes here are so intricate and rich. Everything we tried was great. Main courses- recommended: 1) CHAKHOHBILI- tender chicken in a lovely tomato sauce 2) ADJARIAN KHACHAPURI- warm cheesy bread on a boat of creamy egg yolk and butter 3) PORK/BEEF KHINKALI - yummy pork and beef dumplings Ambiance: The restaurant was very clean and had a traditional modern twist. Came over here for boyfriend's sister's birthday. Our server was super nice and also helped us to pull it as a surprise (she didn't know her brother and I were coming lol). We got everything family style and enjoyed every single dish. I've been here before (three times, but did not review before) and have to note that the pork shashlik was a lot better this time than in the past! It was nice and juicy! I DO recommend to try the wine tasting option on the menu, Georgian wines are the best and deserve all the love :) read more

Great new place! We took our friends for a birthday dinner, and we ordered the chef's at-table special, even though it was just the four of us and it typically serves six. You can always recognize a solid ethnic restaurant when people from that culture come in, talk with the waitstaff in their native languages, and eat the food the way it's intended to be eaten. (If you order the dumplings, watch other patrons first!) The Khachapuri is a must, and I do recommend you pair your meal with Georgian wines. Order things to share. Ask your waiter lots of questions about what the dishes are and how to eat them. On your way out, ask if you can try on the white papakha hat. It's the kind of restaurant that makes you go home and look up the country to learn something about it. And it's quite a place. read more

I was literally across the parking lot when I saw the Sami Sumeli Restaurant. It has been on my dining bucket list for a while. I thought I would try something small like an appetizer to get my feet wet. I was a little hungry, but not completely ravenous. So I zeroed in on sour cabbage...I know it does not sound appetizing on the surface. However, it is a dish where red beets are boiled with cabbage. Of course, the cabbage is turned red in the process. The cabbage is actually not sour but has a hint of a pickled taste. The flavors were bold and powerful! This family owned business features Georgian European cuisine. Did you know that Georgia is not only a state but a country as well? Although I have visited 90+ countries, I had not heard of Georgia, the country. Perhaps I took a small respite from the world of the knowledgeable. In case you are like me, the country of Georgia is located at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia. It is often considered part of Europe culturally and politically, however, geographically it straddles both continents. Georgia features Mediterranean, Middle East, and Eastern Europe cuisines. Anya, my server, was helpful at recommending a popular and unique appetizer. She was very soft spoken and kind. I was one of two customers in the restaurant. Super chill vibe...look forward to returning... read more

In the style of Anthony Bourdain because....it was THAT good: I went to a Georgian restaurant because I like wine and make poor decisions around bread. This is how these things start. First comes the wine flight -- amber, gold, pale straw colors catching the light like old varnish. Georgian wine doesn't taste "new world." It doesn't even really taste old world. It tastes ancient. Mineral-heavy, floral in places, a little funky, unapologetically alive. Like somebody buried grapes in the earth a few thousand years ago and decided modernity was optional. Then the khachapuri lands. Not a plate. An event. A blistered, burnished canoe of bread carrying molten cheese, butter, and an egg yolk so offensively golden it looks fictional. Somewhere, a cardiologist wakes suddenly in the night sensing a disturbance in the force. You tear into it anyway. Because human beings were not put on this earth to refuse hot bread filled with cheese. The crust crackles. The center stretches and folds into itself. Butter disappears into the molten lake like it was never there to begin with. It is rich in the way only peasant food perfected over centuries can be rich -- not delicate, not curated, not interested in your wellness journey. Then come the khinkali. These beautiful dumb little meat purses filled with beef, pork, pepper, and scalding broth. There's etiquette involved. You're supposed to hold the top knot, bite carefully, sip the soup first. And for one brief moment everyone at the table becomes united by the exact same thought: "Oh, this is going to end badly." It's glorious. Broth runs down wrists. Black pepper hits the back of your throat. Wine keeps appearing. The room gets louder. Warmer. Looser. Nobody's pretending to be restrained anymore. And that's what I love about Georgian food. It feels completely uninterested in optimization. No tiny portions. No architectural foam. No chef explaining deconstructed emotions harvested from a local hillside. Just centuries of survival distilled into bread, meat, cheese, wine, and hospitality aggressive enough to qualify as a controlled substance. You leave full in a way that feels almost philosophical. Like maybe civilization peaked when somebody looked at bread and thought: "What if we filled it with molten cheese and handed everyone wine until they started hugging?" read more

Came here for dinner on a Wednesday evening. We had no wait time and found the service to be friendly, though a bit on the slower side. I overall had a very good experience and appreciated the diversity of options compared to other Georgian restaurants I've been to. We started with the phali mix, which was a variety of herby walnut spreads. They said they are traditionally eaten plain, but they added pita due to popular demand. I tried them both ways and don't have a particular lean one direction or another. The beat spread was my least favorite of the 3, but i really liked the spinach and cabbage ones We both had khinkali for our main course. I had the pork and beef ones. While they were good, I thought this was the weakest part of our meal. The broth was flavorful, but fairly light in volume creating a very doughy experience compared to other dumplings I've had. While the dumplings were on the large side, 3 for $14 felt quite pricey. For dessert we shared the karmeli cake which was really tasty! I thought all the flavors worked together really nicely, the caramel and honey were the strongest but the white chocolate complimented it well. Another item where I feel the size was pretty small given the price Overall we had a good experience, I do think the food is a bit overpriced given the portions you're getting. I also found the service to be pretty slow given the number of people they had working and how few tables were occupied. Would recommend giving them a try and I'd definitely consider coming back in the future read more

Authentic Georgian fare. Excellent service, tasteful, relaxed atmosphere, cocktails that were so good I may just go back for another, house infused vodkas, full mocktail menu, and plenty of dishes to explore that I've never tasted before! Our server was helpful in explaining the proper way to eat our entrees, so we'd look like pros. All the food is prepared per order, was very fresh, seems authentic to me and although there isn't much over the top garnishing or frilly presentation, I was satisfied and pleasantly full from my meal. Plenty of parking, natural light and comfy booth or table seating. ADA parking out front and adaptable seating accommodations. . I randomly found this spot in Cedar Park, it's a Georgian and European food And one thing I really appreciated they actually have a separate halal menu, so it just makes everything easier if that matters to you. First thing we tried Khachapuri. It's this warm, cheesy bread with a soft egg in the center you mix it all together and scoop it up. Then came the beef khinkali these juicy dumplings filled with broth. For drinks, we tried the green mocktail and tarragon lemonade both refreshing and actually unique, not your usual sweet drinks.overall we had good experience read more

Besides seeing pictures and videos of khachapuris online, I don't think I've ever had Georgian food so I was so excited to try Sami Sumeli out. And I'm so glad to have had it! Literally everything we had was so good. Of course we had to try the khachapuri, and it was probably my favorite thing we had. It's bread, cheese, egg, and butter, of course it's gonna be delicious! But the bread was so warm and crusty (in the good bread way) and doughy and perfectly soaked up the cheese and butter. And the butter itself was so rich. The herring with potatoes is also something I've been craving. The salted fish goes so well with the crunch and acidity of the raw onion. The potatoes were whatever though, I feel like I barely noticed it was there. The eggplant rolls were also so good and garlicky. Each roll had a bit too much cream cheese for my taste, but still delicious regardless. The kharcho soup was probably my least favorite thing we ordered. But even then, it was still pretty good! It was also super garlicky though, like to the point that it gave it some spice. But the broth was thinner than I expected, and less flavorful than I expected. The mini honey cake was really good, but smaller than I expected. But I guess it is called mini for a reason. The honey flavor is really deep and nice though, and the cream is really light. The workers were super friendly and checked up on us a lot, maybe perhaps even too much. But they made sure our waters were never empty! I think I would have preferred if they just left a pitcher on our table instead though. Or got bigger cups because it did feel like they came around a lot. read more

THE BIG: Located in Cedar Park, this Georgian restaurant satisfies all the flavors of the Caucasus. Beautiful interior with Georgian landscape reels on the TV. Plenty of parking in lot. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I came here on a Saturday around noon with a friend and we were seated immediately. The lunch rush didn't catch us yet. For food, we ordered the khachapuri (egg in cheese butter bread), chakhobili (tomato chicken stew) , khinkali (gigantic soup dumplings), honey cake (layered honey cake) and karmeli cake (caramel honey cake). The khachapuri is VERY rich with the cheese, two slabs of butter and the egg on top. It was very good. My favorite was the khinkali. Something about soup dumplings that always gets me and these were gigantic. The desserts were alright, small and very sweet. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall, we spent around $86 for the meal and the experience itself warrants a revisit to try the other items on the menu. read more

My perfect introduction to Georgian food, which is now easily my favorite type, the Khinkali is amazing, the herring is perfect (it has a perfect sauce) and the Khachapuri (cheese boat) is an amazing comfort food and is quite filling, while the main one on the menu is good to share I recommend the one on the kids menu for a single portion, even then it's still plenty. The way we do it when we come is we share a ton of things such as the herring the khinkali and the borsh. The service is also nice. read more

For the adventurous foodies, go visit this place! We went to Sami Sumeli this afternoon for lunch and it was incredible. I've never tried Georgian food before (as in the country of Georgia, not the US state) and everything we had was great. They have a current weekday 2-course lunch special, which I thought was a pretty good deal for trying different items on their main menu. Austin is no longer a Georgian culinary desert (that's the Republic of Georgia, bordering Russia, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Armenia) thanks to this restaurant in Cedar Park, officially open since early May. Georgia is a former Soviet republic, but is culturally and linguistically quite distinct. The restaurant is spacious and visually appealing, with an open, modern feel, attractive murals on the walls and two large TV screens showing the home country's natural beauty. We had to try the Adjarian khachapuri, Georgia's national dish, which is local cheese, butter, milk and a runny egg in a toasted, crusty boat-shaped bread bowl; perfect for sharing (be sure to mix up the ingredients well). Mushroom khinkhali was another delight, three oversized dumplings containing shrooms and broth (ask the server to demonstrate the proper eating technique if you're not familiar with it). The chicken shashlik platter, several large pieces of roasted chicken on a skewer, came with rice, Georgian sauerkraut, roasted veggies and tangy onion slices, with a medium spicy tomato-based sauce on the side that reminded me of Serbian ajvar. The shashlik was perfectly spiced and plentiful. Our server was friendly and very helpful in explaining the dishes to us non-Georgians. We went on a Sunday evening in June that happened to be the birthday of an important partner in the restaurant, and were entertained by a singer of Georgian and American tunes throughout. We like the idea of supporting a unique local business that's authentic and believes in quality. Highly recommended. read more

Throughout history Georgia has been a territory of interest to many foreign countries, mostly due to its strategic location between the Black Sea, the Caucasus mountains and the Caspian Sea. Also, part of the Silk Road, it was invaded by Greeks, Mongols, Persians, Romans and Arabs, all bringing their influences to the Georgian table and creating a unique and exciting cuisine unlike any other. Therefore, it's so interesting to have a Georgian eatery in this area. For those of you have never had this type of food, Western Georgian food is said to have been influenced by Turkish cuisine while Iranian influences are more prevalent in the East. In the West, Georgian-style cornbread (mchadi) and poultry like chicken and turkey are favored while meat dishes made with pork, beef, or mutton are more prominent in the east. What I got Shashlik is a Georgian Kebab that is a traditional dish that's rich in flavor due to its unique combination of spices. The dish features juicy meat pieces marinated in a blend of yogurt, red wine vinegar, garlic, paprika, and cumin before being grilled to tenderness. Unfortunately, the Shashlik (chicken) that was served here was dried out and lacked flavor. The accompanying pickled red cabbage (Russian style) was spot on, yet the rice for the dish was a bit hard (over done). The service here was nice but the food was a bit of a miss for me. I know that new establishments sometimes need to find their sea legs a before they get it together. Perhaps, that is the case here. Yelp Fam, stop in and give this place a try and let me know your thoughts. read more

My family and I came here on a Saturday evening on May 31st and we were pretty excited to try Georgian food since we have never had it before. For the appetizer we had the Phali Mix which was a trio of vegetable spreads. The red spread was beetroot, the green spread was spinach, and the brown one was cabbage. My personal favorite was the beetroot as it had a nice garlic flavor with a hint of sweetness and a slight earthy aftertaste. The other two also had a nice garlic flavor, with the cabbage phali having a horseradish flavor and the spinach a slightly grassy flavor. However, they were all a little lacking in salt. For the main entree, I had the Chakhobili, which was a stew of tomatoes, onion, garlic, and white chicken; for the side, I opted for buckwheat. The Chakhobili was alright, the broth was tomato-based and was a little rich from the oil the added to it, but the chicken was a little dry and the dish lacked salt as well. The buckwheat was cooked nicely but the tomato broth was unable to balance the earthiness from the buckwheat due to either a lack of salt from the broth or note enough tomatoes for added sweetness. For dessert, we had the eclairs which had a wonderful rich cream filling and both the chocolate and raspberry glaze were great additions to the dish. However, the choux pastry was pretty dry, which made it difficult to truly enjoy the dish overall. In terms of service and atmosphere, our waitress was very nice and attentive to our needs and requests. Furthermore, the restaurant was clean and had a wonderful modern aesthetic. My family and I will probably come back again to try other dishes as we might have came on an off-day for the staff. read more

Ever since seeing a video of Georgian food on YouTube I've been wanting to try their food, and hearing that a restaurant was opening in Cedar Park was a pleasant surprise. Went with my wife and it's nestled in a corner of the strip mall close to Wild West and the Austin Steam Train. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and cozy, with warm lighting and murals. We got the Khali (very vibrant vegetarian spreads made with cabbage, beets and greens) as an appetizer and it was refreshing. Afterwards we got Khinkali (soup dumplings) with pork and beef- Which were juicy and flavorful, followed by the absolute highlight: Khachipuri. A giant baked bread boat filled with cheese, butter and topped with an egg yolk. It was MASSIVE! Enough for 2 and it was incredibly good. It was happiness in a dish and I'll be back just for that. Service was really good. Not sure if it was the owner but they were super attentive and friendly, explaining how to eat the dishes. Friendly and helpful staff helped me navigate my first experience with Georgian food. It was a nicer but still casual dining space with a few tables already seated and eating when I arrived. I was one of the many people who were drawn by their cheesy egg bread that was plastered all over social media, and I'm happy to report that it was worth the visit! The cheese within the bread boat was described to me as a Georgian version of mozzarella. The egg yolk and slab of butter beautifully infused into the cheese, and I loved that the best utensil to consume this was with the vessel itself - the bread. I expected the bread to be like a pizza crust, but it was something of its own narrative. Lovely chew and texture - this was demolished quickly! I did try their beef stew, which is advertised to have an honorable amount of seasonings within it, but it felt a little underwhelming for what I expected. The beef was tender and simple in flavor, and the broth was light. It didn't satisfy the "soup thirst". We also tried their cream cheese stuffed eggplant, which may just not be for me, but the proportions were too cream cheese heavy for my liking. Overall, would visit again to expand my experience with Georgian food and for the quality interactions I had while there. read more

I spent a few weeks in Austin and just happened to come across this amazing Georgian restaurant. Every dish is rich and flavorful with an authentic flavor. I was so excited to see we now have a Georgian restaurant in town and finally got to try it. Walking in, the ambience was nice but casual. We ordered a few things but the eggplant rolls which was a starter really wowed us. The kharcho was hearty and worth the price and the khachapuri of course was good, though the cheese was thicker than I've had before so you couldn't really dip the bread. We still had appetite so we added a Skhmeruli which was okay but not as flavorful and a bit pricy for what it was - chicken cooked in a cream sauce. The servers were friendly and Europeans. We definitely want to come back and try other menu items, but will definitely get the eggplant rolls and khachapuri again! read more

I was excited to see a new Georgian restaurant near Austin with a chef from Tbilisi. And I love a family style meal. The restaurant has a modern, clean and minimal aesthetic that subtly highlights its origins. I crave badrijani, but I'm honestly too lazy to make it myself sometimes. So I went specifically for the eggplant rolls. Theirs are hardy! They use cream cheese and a lot of it. The taste was nice, but it was not as garlicky or light as I like. But it was nice. Khachapuri was decadent, creamy, and just right! Shkemeruli was creamy garlic stew that will heal you from the inside. I look forward to trying it again this fall. We also tried the chicken shashlik, all the khinkali, the phali mix, red caviar, and the karmeli cake. It was all wonderful. We also enjoyed flights of wine, and several of the mixed cocktails. They have house infused vodkas to set their drinks apart. Take friends and family. Prepare to stay a while as you enjoy everything on the menu. And definitely get a flight of wine! read more

Sami Sumeli is an absolute treasure--the first Georgian restaurant in town, and it's already setting the bar incredibly high. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a colorful, warm ambiance that immediately makes you feel at home. It's cozy and inviting, with a relaxed, quiet vibe (for now!), but something tells me that won't last long once word gets out. The food? Out of this world. Every dish my husband I tried was a flavor-packed journey to Georgia. The Adjarian Khachapuri--a boat-shaped bread filled with gooey cheese and topped with a perfectly runny egg--was the stuff of dreams: rich, comforting, and downright addictive. The Chakhohbili (a traditional stewed chicken dish) was another standout--aromatic, tender, and soul-warming in all the right ways. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and filled with the kind of heart you can't fake. Sami Sumeli isn't just serving food--it's sharing culture and tradition, one delicious bite at a time. Service was great, food was very good. Amazing experience. Definitely going again to try something different.

Sami Sumeli is in the old Double Dave's spot in Cedar Park. We went on a Saturday afternoon. It is tastefully decorated and has comfortable and modern seating and is very clean. The service was excellent; attentive and friendly and willingly gave recommendations. For lunch prices were a bit high, but good portion sizes made up for it. The dishes we ordered both needed seasoning. This could just be an American thing vs European. They were good, but not great. The bread with cheese and egg is what we will return for, and we also heard they have a great happy hour. read more

I attended a EuroCircle gathering to watch EuroVision this past weekend. The place is really cute and near a country western dance hall called Wild West. It was very crowded so it took a long time to get our drinks and food. One of the servers wasn't yet 18 so he couldn't pour/bring us alcohol. Then they ran out of alcohol to make cocktails. We only ordered the dumplings for food which were good. I enjoyed my Pink Sky cocktail which tasted kind of like a pisco sour. We would have ordered more food but it was taking them a long time to get to our table and help all the others there. They are a new restaurant and it was a very busy day for them. They were all very nice and apologetic for the service waits. I think if I am able to go back when they weren't so busy, the wait times would be much shorter! read more

Wow -- where has this place been all my life? Sami Sumeri completely blew us away. The flavors are unbelievable, the wine list is fantastic, and the best part -- it's totally kid-friendly. If you've never had Georgian or Eastern European food before, this is the perfect introduction. The absolute must-have is the Adjarian Khachapuri: a savory, cheese-filled bread shaped like a boat, topped with a creamy egg yolk and butter. It's rich, comforting, and insanely good. The kids and I were literally battling over the last bites. The staff is incredibly friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming, and everything we tried tasted fresh and authentic. 4.5 stars! My husband and I regularly consumed khachapuri at least once a month prior to moving to the area, and was immediately thrilled to find out that, not only was a Georgian restaurant opening nearby, they would also serve khachapuri. We walked into the restaurant with no reservations and were immediately seated. Ambiance: The place was modern yet cozy, with a lovely albeit unusual combination of interior colors that I found interesting but comfortable. Service: The service was nice & amicable, albeit we were forgotten for a bit, which makes sense because they were busy. Food: We ordered potatoes & herring, mushroom khinkali, eggplant roll, khachapuri, a couple of Georgian wines, Prague cake, espresso & green tea. * Potatoes & herring - This dish was easily our favorite! The combination of flavors reminded me of a snack I ate a lot in my childhood. The waitress commented that it's not often that Americans order this dish, which, I like to think, speaks to our adventurous palates. * Eggplant rolls - This was good and well-cooked. However, I wish the toppings were also incorporated in the cream cheese filling. It has an overwhelmingly cream cheese taste & loses a lot of its more subtle flavors in the process. * Mushroom khinkali - I thoroughly enjoy great takes in mushroom and this was a thoughtfully prepared piece of mushroom dish. The dumpling dough was almost well-cooked (could do with a half a minute more) but was overall pleasant to eat. * Khachapuri - This was certainly higher quality khachapuri than we've ever had before. The cheese & runny yolk were well-balanced & played perfectly together in terms of both texture & flavor. The bread was so fresh & fantastically done. I'm literally salivating at the thought of the khachapuri. * Prague cake - The base cake was a tad but dry but was alleviated by the chocolate sauce & a generous heap of frosting as a topping and in between layers. * Espresso - Good but nothing to write home about. Perfect to consume with cake. Final Thoughts: Suffice to say, this place has been added to our rotation of restaurants and I'm already raring to go back. read more
