This place is sooooo good. It is the best Georgian food I have had. I was especially impressed with the khachapuri (perfect chewy dough) and kinkali (so juicy). The beef stew and chicken and potatoes had good flavors. I wish the eggplant rolls were a bit more seasoned but truly such a good place. I crave the food all the time!

My first exposure to Georgian food and it was a delightful experience!! So many new foods to try. We tried the eggplant rolls which were a great first bite. It's served cold and the eggplant is rolled up around a delicious walnut filling. We got the Khinkali, so interesting how it's exactly like the Chinese xiaolongbao just a lot bigger. I tried the mushroom one which was really salty but delicious. My favorite thing we got was the Khachapuri - it's basically a giant pastry with cheese and butter. What's not to love. The bread was soft and light paired with the cheese and butter was delicious. I tried the chicken Mtsvadi which is BBQ. It was a decent amount of food. The chicken was tender. The grilled vegetables were really salty but well seasoned. I tried the pomegranate sauce which was quite tangy. Overall, thought the meal was absolutely delicious!! Just a bit salty.

Discovered another Georgian restaurant in Austin so I had to try it. The ambience is nice and really transports you out of Texas. We started off with the elargi balls which were kind of like arancini but more gritty and came with a delicious walnut sauce. Next came the Ostri beef stew and the khachapuri. The stew was very tasty with a tanginess to it and the khachapuri was the biggest one I've had across roughly 6 Georgian restaurants I've been to in NY and here. Finally, the khinkali dumplings came. They were deliciously seasoned and the dough was supple. I just wish they came out a little earlier in our meal because it was more light in flavor. The service was decent, though I felt they could've been friendlier to new customers as they seemed to be very warm with familiar faces. I'll be coming back!

This is genuinely a nice place to visit if you want to try Georgian cuisine. The interior is beautiful, with a pleasant ethnic style, and the atmosphere feels warm and inviting. The service was good overall, although there was a small mix-up with our order at the beginning. The staff were friendly and attentive. Almost everything we tried was very tasty fresh, well-prepared food that we enjoyed and finished with pleasure. Unfortunately, the one exception was the khachapuri. We didn't like it at all: neither the dough nor the cheese. The cheese tasted very cheap, and the dough was dry and not flavorful. I've had khachapuri in other places before, and it was noticeably better there. Aside from that, all the other dishes we tried were delicious, so the food experience overall was positive. The check is above average, and if you come as a group, they automatically add a service charge to the bill, which is something to keep in mind. Overall, it's a good place to visit at least once to get familiar with Georgian cuisine.

Great food, good service, would come again to eat. This was the first time eating Georgian food. Everything was new but the flavors were rich, fresh, and cozy. We have a tomato beef like soup, creamy chicken soup, mushroom dumplings, cheese bread, and a Georgian soda. My favor was the cheese bread and the creamy soup. There was also a market next store that sold a lot of goods. We liked the soda so much we went next stor to try other flavors. Would 100% come eat here again.

Today we visited Nikala for the first time, and it instantly took first place in my personal ranking of local restaurants. The moment I walked in and saw the tablecloths on the tables, I already felt my first wave of delight. Then came the warm welcome, the way we were seated, and the thoughtful introduction to the menu -- and my admiration kept growing. But when the khinkali arrived... that was it. Straight to the heart. It felt like Georgia. The khachapuri, , rolls, bread -- everything was absolutely delicious, beautifully made, and tasted so clean and authentic. And the service was truly exceptional. You can immediately feel that the people who work there genuinely love this place -- not a trace of anything fake. One young man spoke to us about the wine with such knowledge, care, and respect. A young woman told us about the food, the ingredients, the ovens, the paintings, the meaning behind the restaurant's name, and so much more. It was all done with such warmth and sincerity. At the same time, the service was incredibly delicate and natural. We were never interrupted unnecessarily, plates disappeared almost invisibly, and it felt like they noticed even a glance when it was time to refresh our drinks. Everything in this place feels so organic, thoughtful, and full of heart that from the very first visit, it became my favorite restaurant in the area. I will absolutely be back -- and I will be bringing friends.

I came to Nikala with my family for Sunday lunch after hearing about it from the city of Round Rock's Instagram page. I've always been curious about Eastern European cuisine so we went to try it for the first time, and it was great! Out of the items we ordered, I recommend the khachapuri (adjaruli with cheese) and the mtsvadi tsibili (beef & pork Georgian shish-kbab). Nikala is also a child-friendly restaurant as we had no problem bringing our baby with a stroller. One of the waitresses even offered to open the door for us and did so. The bathrooms were also very clean, and even had a changing station and bidets. Will recommend this restaurant to my friends and family!

Are you kidding me!? This place not only fed me and fed me well, but I feel like the owner adopted me. I'm Georgian now. The food was incredible and I can't wait to go back and try more things! I'm so lucky that this place is right in my neighborhood!!

It's my first time having Georgian food so I didn't really know what to expect but the boat looked…read morepretty cool so of course we had to try that! We got the beef, chicken, and also meat pie. There were also samples of the ideal cake and this was so good!! I want to get the full slice next time I come. The bread boat is like a better version of a pizza. The sauce and cheese are not mixed in yet and apparently you're supposed to mix them yourself and then dip the bread inside but I already devoured it all by the time I read the instructions LOL. It was still really good even without mixing. I'm normally not a fan of bread by itself but you can tell the sourdough is made fresh and you can see the staff rolling the dough. If I only had the meat pie, this would be 4 stars. The meat pie, while it is a big portion, it didn't have any sauce and tasted very salty. Bread boat is definitely the star! Love it. I was surprised that the restaurant is pretty small but it's nice for intimate gatherings.

There's more to khachapuri than just butter, eggs, and cheese. I know, I know, to most people,…read morethose are the best parts. In the skillful hands of the bakers here, the edible vessel truly shines. Blistered, chewy, and flavorful enough to eat by the loaf, it's no wonder its their namesake. The veggie version turns the classic Georgian staple into a showcase for seasonal vegetables, where the bread is not merely a container but an essential part of the experience. Falling somewhere between eggless shakshuka, ratatouille, and pizza soup in a bread bowl, it's a saucy masterpiece that's even better when shared. Just tear off a chunk of the crust, dunk it in the middle, and repeat. It's a bummer that there's a $3 vegan tax to REMOVE the cheese... That's my one big complaint. Otherwise, service is fast and friendly, despite having to order on a tablet and busing your own dishes. There's a dedicated lot in front which makes it easier to pop in any day of the week. It's very kid-friendly, too! I saw lots of families both inside and on the patio. You're never too young to appreciate Georgian food.
