The falafel was fried well, crispy and airy. ...and then I went back for dinner the same day. Oh boy. The beef wrap was so flavorful! The beef was spiced so well. I can't even describe it properly. It was just... beefy deliciousness. Mixed with the white sauce and I was in heaven. My son had the beef plate and like any teen he has a big appetite... but just barely finished his plate. Never ever again. I was frustrated with the appearance of my food covered in sauce and it did have a good flavor however I don't enjoy sauce drowning my food. That was my experience with this double meat, Gyro, rice and vegetable bowl. I don't think that it was double meat like it should've been, and it looked nothing like the picture. That really disturbs me when they present one thing, but give you something totally different and when the food was hand, deliberate to me, the bag was all tied up as a go, as if they did not want me to look at it. When I'm hungry after Brushy Creeking, and I don't feel like Suprabhating, and I'm craving some kabobs, falafel, garlic sauce, hummus, and a tightly wrapped piece of pita bread in aluminum foil, I usually come here, to Lazeez, because I can order a plate of their Chicken Shish Tawook and wait about 20 minutes before it's ready. If I don't feel like waiting 20 minutes, I'd order something else, like a wrap. If I do feel like waiting 20 minutes, I time them, and their are pretty accurate with their time estimates. Meanwhile, I can nab some cold water from their soda fountain and bask in the kitchen noises that echo around the restaurant. If need be, I can venture into their clean bathroom and wash my hands prior to eating. Once the food comes, I can chow down on each piece of chicken, perhaps adding a bit of dip from the garlic sauce, inhaling the savory rice with tomatoes, and perhaps carefully unwrap the warm roll of pita bread from its aluminum foil enclosure. The hummus will eventually be scraped down, and the salad will be consumed whether tabbouleh or cucumber tomato salad had accompanied the meal. If falafel had been ordered, I'd take a piece of it and a bite to enjoy the nice crisp exterior with soft crumbly interior prior to adding a minor coat of tahini. All 6 would be consumed; then feeling contently full, I'd bring the red tray towards the front of the store to the discard the inedible remnants into the waste bin before exiting and continuing on my merry way. read more

This place is really close to my work and a good halfway point between Round Rock and Cedar Park, so stopped by to grab with a friend. It's a quaint, small shop at the end of a strip mall, so wasn't super busy on a Friday afternoon, but food came out hot and quick. Portions will definitely keep you full. I opted for a beef kofta wrap and it was good, albeit fairly fatty. You get a grilled kofta, a super thin pita, some veg and some sauce, but it's fairly drenched and the fatty beef is flavorful and got some char, but it's heavier than what one might expect a wrap to be - that said, they have a lot of wrap options if you want something else leaner. My friend got the combo plate and it was definitely enough food for 2. Food also comes out fairly quick. All in all, solid place for a quick lunch. read more

I have had two super unproductive work day's. I work from home and my company is based in another state. They are putting down or pulling up fiber in our neighborhood and somehow have disconnected our WiFi. So I can only make phone calls. News flash: a lot of what we do is tied to the internet. So I have been looking for places with WiFi and running errands. Sigh... I tried Lazeez Mediterranean restaurant for the first time for lunch. It is nestled in a strip mall on W Parmer Lane. The restaurant manager recommended chicken schwarma, which was delicious. I learned today that Lazeez means delicious. The schwarma was on this yellow fragrant rice bed served with a Mediterranean chopped salad and hummus. I was not a fan of the chopped salad as it had bell peppers...one of my least favorite vegetables. The hummus tasted very authentic and I ate every Marcel. There was also a yogurt sauce for the entree and pita bread. There were only two of us in the restaurant but a steady flow of walk-in and drive through customers. Overall good meal... read more

We stopped by this fairly new restaurant to try out their Mediterranean food and overall had a pretty pleasant experience. We didn't eat at the location since seating was limited and not the best ambience for a nice meal. Ordered the Chicken and Gyro plate with a side of falafel and onion rings. Starting with the appetizers, the falafel was pretty good and not overcooked her dry like some places do and came six to an order. The onion rings were a choice that I was initially hesitant on, but the cashier was insistent that they make them well. I really did enjoy how crisp the batter was, and the batter-to-onion ratio was on point and very flavorful. Going to the main meal, the chicken and gyro plate was very flavorful, rice cooked perfectly and fluffy, and the side salad and hummus fresh. I think they provided a good amount of meat, however, the plate itself wasn't as filling as other places such as Halal Bros that give you enough food to make at least two meals from the portion size. Service took longer than expected on a Saturday evening (almost 20 minutes) for this type of food, but helped me feel like the meal would be fresh. In summary, I definitely think this is a solid choice for a Mediterranean food spot in the north Austin area! read more

Finally, an easy Mediterranean option in the same vicinity as my gym. What hooked me was their kefta kebab, spiced to perfection, tender, and juicy. Most places dry this out along with the chicken. A new counter service Arabic place off Parmer, Lazeez is a welcome addition to the area. It's no frills ambience wise but the food is great. We got the chicken shawarma plate which came with fries and garlic sauce and it was great. Unlike some other Arabic restaurants the garlic sauce is super smooth and not too strong. We also got the chicken+lamb bbq plate- It took a while but it's due to them grilling everything to order. Wish there was a bit more meat but it tasted great as well. The rice was delicious and spiced with care. Good hummus as well! For takeout or dine in this is going to be a solid addition to the area. Probably the first Arabic restaurant in the Parmer corridor. We ordered a second time, a to go order, and the order was good and correct. We ordered takeout again (making a third time total) and the order was completely messed up, the zucchini was soggy and old. If the third time had been the first time, we would have never returned. After many months I decided to give it a try since I was really looking forward to try the beef shawarma plate and babaganoush. So far the babaganoush was good, pita bread ok, hummus too acidic (probably wasn't mixed well), rice ok, the shawarma beef was a bit burnt and the salad was probably a day old. this chain just opened. tried out a couple platters and a wrap and everything tasted fresh. the beef and lamb was tender and for the first time a place that didn't over fry the falafel! the best thing is they have a drive-through which is so convenient for pick-up. the baba ghanouj is an eggplant (flavored) dip (vs overwhelming eggplant only pâte) but it tasted good nonetheless. hummus was good too. the pita seemed commercially procured (not house made). their ordering system still has a lot of glitches hopefully they work on fixing that. my only wish is they would give us more side sauces. rn it's a solid 4/5 place and we'll be back. read more

Was super excited to see this opening as we love halal and would love to not have to drive as far to some of the others. We did take out, ordering the chicken shawarma, beef shawarma and the kofta. We received a chicken shawarma, and two of something else that we couldn't identify. It wasn't beef shawarma or the kofta. Both were basically just a thin patty of WAY overcooked ground beef with a touch of spices. Definitely not what we ordered, and it was quite bad. Dry to the point of being almost inedible. Little flavor. $30 for those two dishes which had about a 1/4 lb of ground beef each plus some rice, the cucumber salad and a spoonful of hummus. What a joke.
