    Chicken Shawarma Over Rice
    Joe R.

I am in Round Rock for work and I happened to stumble across Aladdin Halal Grill after the original place I had in mind was closed, and man am I glad I did! I got a chicken shawarma over rice platter, which was absolutely incredible! The portion sizes were enough for me to make two meals out of, as it came with heaps of chicken, rice, a Mediterranean salad, and a pita. My picture is AFTER I finished my first half of the meal! The service was also incredibly fast and the front desk staff member was extremely friendly. The restaurant was clean, with a good handful of other patrons dining in. I will certainly be back any time I'm in the area!

We ordered takeout from Aladdin Halal Grill and tried two dishes--overall a decent and budget-friendly experience with a few bright spots. What we ordered: Beef Shawarma Arabi This was my first time trying the "Arabi" style, which is kind of like a chicken or beef wrap that's sliced into a few pieces--great for sharing. The beef shawarma inside was super flavorful and well-spiced, but the thin pita wrap got soggy from the juices, which took away from the texture by the time it arrived. Kafta Kabab Plate (with extra lamb kabab) Both the kafta and lamb were pretty average--heavily spiced, though that may be because it wasn't hot anymore by the time we got it. The flavor profile leaned strong on the spices, which might work for some, but wasn't really my favorite. Hummus (served with both dishes) Smooth and lighter than most hummus I've had, but still very solid. The real standout, though, was their sauce--whatever garlic/tomato/hot sauces they include really elevated the meal. Sides: Salad The salad had some bitter cucumber slices that threw me off. Not sure if that's just the produce or a prep issue. Service: fast for delivery and food was well packaged. Would I return? Maybe--especially for the beef shawarma, but next time I'd skip the Arabi wrap and just get the regular version. That said, the pricing here is very reasonable, especially for the portion size. And if you're ordering for a group, that Arabi style wrap is a good one to split. I probably wouldn't go for the kababs again, but I'd definitely come back to explore more of their shawarma options.

Small place in a shopping strip seems family owned and operated. Prices were actually really very reasonable like a shawarma ranging from $8-11 not bad. We had an Adana, arabi and and a plate with beef and lamb. The beef was ok, not great not bad I felt like it was missing something and the pita was a little thick for me ( I got use to the lavashbread at my regular places) the lamb though that was delicious. I think if we go back to Austin I will definitely get the ground lamb kabob. They were extremely nice. I think the 3 star is more because I ordered something that wasn't really my thing. But I will definitely go back for the lamb

Glanced at reviews, and no one mentioned how dirty it was. I like kebab shop and dimassi's for that reason, it is clean in there. I would say it was filthy. Cleanless is a priority to me, so I will skip this place in future. Food was not as good as I would expect. My beef shawarma wrap worth exact $8 not more. Plain pita, pinch of tomatoes and lettuce, some beef, partially hard and chewy, overly salty tahini sauce and not spicy, even I asked to make it spicy. Kids mea $5 is perfect size and value, does not come with any drink. Would I recommend, no. I know better places for a reasonable price to get Mediterranean food. As someone mentioned here, this place offer reasonably priced options, but the quality is not as good. Two men were working at the grill, they did not wear aprons, neither hairnets or hats. Once one of them touched his beard with his hand in a glove and kept cooking. Not the best practice.

We ordered through Uber Eats. One kafta kabob plate, one lamb kabob plate, a side of eggplant dip, a side of meat rolls, and 2 orders each of baklava and nut rolls. Both the kafta and lamb kabobs were a good size and the rice was flavorful. It also came with 2 large thin pitas per dish. The kabobs tasted the same to me and were fine. If you prefer lean, you'll like them. The portion of the eggplant dip was very small. With delivery you never know if someone touched it or that's how it came from the restaurant. For a strip center in Round Rock it was fine.

    Chicken tawook

Loved the chicken tawook! Very nice flavors from the spices, tender juicy chicken, and delicious hummus, rice, pita. Very good price for the combo, will definitely be coming back for lunch often!

Aladdin Halal Grill is one of our favorite mediterranean choices that we have in rotation. One of the nice things about this place is their late hours for those late night munchies! Service can be just a tad slow, but everything is made fresh and yummy! My go-tos are the chicken over hummus plate, the tabouleh (you can add meat to it too for a bit extra!), and the falafel. Their hummus is pretty good and nutty. My roombae likes their lamb and often gets the lamb over rice platter. Everything is decently priced and portioned. Definitely check this place out if you're craving mediterranean and on the north side of town!

The fried eggplant and grilled chicken came out fresh and steaming hot. the chicken tawook was juicy. the eggplant dip has chunks of eggplant in it which I liked, and the meal also came with 2 pieces of pita bread.

Generous servings made fresh to order. Price is very competitive considering that more than likely you will not be able to finish your meal and can make it a 2nd meal for later. Pita bread was not really warm even when wrapped it foil, tasted more like a tortilla, but the salad, cucumbers and tomatoes, was delicious. That was my favorite part of my meal along with the gyro.

However, I'll think about coming here again because I didn't feel a good vibe with the service. We had to go look for someone to show us the table even though the place was empty for early lunch. Then, to get drinks or even the order was a problem. It took so much longer than usual. Our waitress was rude, and seemed bothered that we showed up. Then someone else came as the waitress and she was preoccupied with other tables and barely checked on us. A regular lunch which would've been one hour became almost two because of the lack of service. My friend had to stand and look for someone to give us a box to take out the good we couldn't eat because it was getting late and also to get the check because No one came in to check on us at all. It was almost like pulling teeth to get a regular service let alone good service. Again, the food was really good, and that alone was the only positive.

If ambiance is your religion, there are prettier temples in Austin. This review is not about vibes. This review is about food, price, quality, and the people who feed you like they mean it. Greek food is deceptively simple. It's not complicated cuisine--it's honest cuisine. And that's exactly why it's hard to get right. When Greek food misses, it really misses. When it hits, it reminds you why humans invented olive oil and fire. Tino's hits. The Greek salad alone is worth defending in court. Crisp, bright, properly acidic, unapologetically salty--this is not a sad bowl of lettuce pretending to be Mediterranean. The gyro is what a gyro should be: well-seasoned meat, not greasy, not dry, tucked into a warm pita that understands its role in the universe. The baba ghanouj is smoky and balanced, the spanakopita flaky and comforting, the falafel crisp on the outside and tender where it matters. Everything tastes like it was made by someone who actually cares whether you enjoy your lunch. Now yes--before anyone sharpens their Yelp knives--Tino's doesn't really do shawarma. That's fine. Not everyone needs to be everything. A restaurant that knows what it does well and does it consistently earns respect. This omission does not knock them out of five-star territory. It proves restraint. Here's where Tino's quietly destroys the competition: value. A gyro plate--meat, pita, three sides, plus a salad--will run you about thirteen bucks. Thirteen. In Austin. With enough food to make you question whether dinner is even necessary. This is a full day's nourishment, spiritually and calorically. And you should tip. Not because you're supposed to, but because the people there are genuinely kind, helpful, and unpretentious. They answer questions. They don't rush you. They seem happy you're there. That matters. Tino's isn't fancy. It's better than fancy. It's reliable, generous, honest food made by good people at a fair price. That's five stars every time.

That's why I'm so sad that the food was so underwhelming. I got a burrito and their fries. I immediately regretted the fries and wish I could have my $5 back. They are pale, limp, and taste like boiled potatoes. Had to include a photo to try and communicate how much french fry flavor was not on these fries. And the best word to describe the burrito is... chaotic? Which is kind of the vibe they're going for with their branding and can totally work. But I mean chaotic in like a choking hazard way haha. I added oven roasted cherry tomatoes and kalamata olives to my burrito. They were both just thrown in WHOLE! I laughed out loud when I discovered two big honkin' tomatoes (barely cooked) just chilling in the burrito. There's no way for the flavors to mingle and get to know each other when it's just a bunch of large chunks of food. I think this would have been an awesome burrito if the tomatoes and olives were chopped and could play together. All in all, the meat and sauces are great. Skip the fries for sure. I want this place to work so bad I will most likely go back and try a bowl. The burrito just didn't work. Sad ZIKI!
