The location on Guad was my go to in college, and I was craving this week!! Unfortunately it's a more basic/boring flavor with less meat and spices BUT the white and red sauces remain top tier. I was able to drown my combo over rice with both and still enjoy my meal. The hummus was a little off, but I'm picky with my hummus. Overall, I'll get it for the nostalgia but I'm not going to be quick to recommend. read more

Halal Bros - Mediterranean Near Me - Austin, Texas

Hear me out here. So about a year ago or two the wrap was about double the size. I think it may have always been expensive (you pay about $16 with tax) But the red sauce is to die for. Mic that in the right ratio with the white sauce (which is dairy free for those wondering) - and you get taken up to heaven. For $16 that's a deal. It's worth atleast trying. You'll love it. You won't love the price but your miser attitude will abate after the first bite I promise. It's not even real shawarma but trust me you'll love it. If you ask for sauce to go check thrice. 3 4 stars because the other location is better and next to an ice cream shop read more

Currently 12:40pm; I ordered at 11:55am. Still haven't gotten my food. Not the only time this has happened and there are like 5 people here that have waited as long as I have. Makes this actually not worth getting. Go literally anywhere else, but especially go anywhere else if you don't have more than a 2 hour lunch (I assume that's the amount of time the establishment thinks you have to eat). read more

I asked for extra everything and took the liberty to dress it myself (I'm a cook I know what's good). They gave me extra greens and sauce on the side as I requested. Honestly huge amount of food and very fucking good in fact get it over fries extra sauce extra greens and leave a fuckin tip cause you prolly couldn't cook this shit and they provide $1.25 lemonade dawg. I spent $30 on two monster to go orders. Did that shit with a smile. I got left overs and I'm already tired. read more

I was introduced to this place by a friend and I'm so glad he did! The food is always hot and made fresh. I have now been to 2 locations, Braker ln, Austin,Tx and Round Rock,Tx. Both places are good! Service at both locations was great too. I've only placed to go orders but both restaurants appear to be very clean and spacious. Round Rock seems newer but both are nice. read more

The food is tasty, and you can smell the freshness as you walk in. They make everything made to order so be prepared to wait 10-15 minutes. We took it to go and it was just as tasty at home. The service wasn't as great as it has been, but not enough to deter coming back. read more

Unfortunately, this was not a good experience. Usually I'm a chill guy, but this time, no more Mr. Nice guy. First things first, the flavors were very not popping! Secondly, I paid $14 for a gyro that was so small that it was $2 per bite. YOWZERS! This was the opposite of bang for your buck! Buck for your bang? Bang for your buck? Heh, more like DANG for your YUCK! I am NEVER coming back to.... WAIT! That's the OLD me. The NEW me takes this experience and THANKS the hardworking employees who worked hard to prepare the food, before proceeding to raise this review by one star for the excellent service. This place is a nice establishment, but I will NEVER be coming back (because I don't live near here. That's the only reason I'm not coming back) Bro is NOT Rex splode read more

This is a great and proven restaurant to go to for Halal food. I usually get the combination plate over rice. The combination plate consists of gyro and chicken meat over rice served with a side salad (lettuce and tomato) along with white sauce and hot sauce. This entree is very good because the chicken is well seasoned as is the gyro meat. The rice has a nice flavor and the white sauce is a must for this type of meal! Service has always been satisfying here. You can't go wrong getting food from here. They've been consistently good the numerous times I've been here. read more

Halal Bros is a good place to grab a quick bite. We've frequented Halal several times over the past few years. We've noticed dishes like chicken or lamb over rice is more and more rice and less protein. Also the proteins are dry and appear old. read more

DOORDASH order - I got the combination plate which comes with lamb, chopped beef, grilled chicken thighs and a salad over basmati rice with white sauce. Filling and delicious. This place is basically keeping me alive right now. I order way too often because the food is so good and the portions are huge so it feeds me twice. They've waited after closing for me to pick up food and even remade my order once when I totally forgot to grab it. Just insanely nice people every time I go in. Also the boss is really nice and ridiculously handsome so that doesn't hurt. So glad this place is next to my apartment because I'm obsessed. read more

This is the kinda food quality where you'd be like this is a good cheap eat where you spend like $20/25 for two and feel good about it. That is not the case here. Food was wayyy over priced. $15 for a wrap with no side that is not super big or anything. Flavors were fine and would be good if it was cheap but for this price I expect something exceptional and it wasn't that. Fries were $5 and a decent size but straight out of the Sysco bag. $40 for two people for lunch was way too much for the portions and taste here. read more

Halal Bros - Two of these wraps and one order of fries seen here with no drinks was $40. Wayyyy too expensive. - Mediterranean Near Me - Austin, Texas

I really enjoyed the halal bros off of Guadalupe. I tried their wrap at this location and it was no where close as good. They give you way too much meat and the wrap was falling apart as well suggesting that it was tightened up very well. The sauce was on the side even tho I asked them to put it in the wrap. They also didnt let me put fries in my wrap which I wanted. Overall the wrap wasn't bad enough to warrant a 1/5 rating, but considering this was one of the worst wraps I've had in Austin if not the worst I've decided to give it the worst possible rating :/. Probably wait a year or so before I go back to halal bros off Guadalupe again. read more

Always good stuff! Great location, it does need some parking help though. Here's a Quick lesson of something I didn't know in relation to ordering. Chicken Shawarma = breast. Chicken kabob = cut in chunks just 'Chicken' = thighs. I like the chicken option. Nice and juicy. The food is good, hot and well seasoned. The guys behind the counter are always shuffling and super busy, but really nice and helpful when ordering. Music playing in background let's you know your food is being made with love! Absolutely love the bathroom setup. More restaurants need to take note of the double option and stop playing! read more

Sounded great and looks great but wasn't it. We came on a Saturday afternoon. We're the first of a huge lunch rush so I was excited about my meal! The entree combo was $17 and big enough to share between 2 people. The fountain drinks had a strange taste and they only had regular mrs Vickie's chips left. The lamb meat tasted like hamburger. The flavors really weren't there. I liked that the extra sauce was accessible so I didn't have to bother anyone but you definitely need the sauce to make the meal enjoyable. I wish it were better... maybe if I'm around here again, the next visit might be better read more

served fresh and fast. portions are equal to the price. food tastes as good as any chicken and rice spot I've had. We almost always order the combo over rice with loaded fries. everything is cooked to order and comes out fast and hot. restaurant is clean for the volume of service. you'll see a dirty table or two but the staff are pretty good at cleaning it up. I wish the prices were a dollar or two lower but with inflation and rising costs, I can't complain. I fondly reminiscence of those $5 food carts in NYC but this is just as good. I love halal bros! Overall, if you're looking for good portions, tasty food, and quick service halal bros should be on your short list. read more

I came to Austin for a conference and I was craving some Halal food. Halal Bros has a convenient location and is open until pretty late at night so you can satisfy your food cravings. Upon entering Halal Bros I was greeted by the friendly cashier and given some recommendations on what items to order since it was my first time visiting. I ended up getting the combination plate which includes gyro and chicken along with a huge portion of rice, lettuce, tomatoes, and white sauce. If you're feeling bold, ask for the red hot sauce on the side because it will cause mouth fires. The gyro and chicken were tender, fresh, and well-seasoned. The rice and veggies completed the proteins well and make sure to ask for extra white sauce since it adds some extra savoriness to the plate. The portions here are huge so you'll have enough for a quick lunch the next day as well. There is a bit of a wait if you order in person, I waited about 15 minutes so if you're in a rush make sure to order online ahead of time. Overall, for Austin prices, Halal Bros is a good value because of the generous portions of meat, rice, and veggies that they provide. The next time I'm in Austin, I'll be sure to stop by Halal Bros again! read more

Hey y'all, today I tried Halal Bros for the first time and I was surprise the line was short because the food was terrific. The staff was very helpful in giving us suggestions. Stopped by while in town from Houston. I usually get a chicken at the halal place I do so figured why not try theirs today. The portion was huge. Loved the little salad as a portion. The lettuce was very fresh. It was worth the wait. They were a bit under staffed like many places. However they were all hustling. The flavor was definitely there on the chicken along with the sauces. There was a perfect amount of hot sauce on the plate. Judging by all the Togo orders and busy inside I would recommend it for other items too. read more

Great portion size. I love the chicken is not chewy, which is most of the case when it comes to kebabs. They definitely need more white sauce bottles. It's hard to find lbs when you need one. We went during lunch hour so there was a wait getting the orders. But sadly even though we had a order number it seemed like everybody order was coming out depending on what they were preparing rather in the order of order placed. We ordered a take away from here. ** vegetarian food review ** Falafel over rice -- it is a huge plate. I think more than sufficient for 1 person. It had 7 falafels, which usually isn't the case for such plates. However, it had less veggies, so kinda same. The falafels were soft and crispy, perfect in taste! I loved them! Rice was well cooked too and tasted good. The hummus tasted weird, but went well with the falafel. Falafel wrap -- this also tasted quite similar to the rice plate, but the wrap was very small. Falafel wraps are typically bigger, but this one was tiny. read more

YUMMMMY!!!! So glad I was referred to this gem of a place. The portions are well worth the price and. I got the combo platter (half chicken and half gyro) with hot sauce on the side. Beware: the hot sauce is a bit spicy so if you don't like heat, get it on the side. I COULD share 1 rice entree between two people if you don't eat a lot. Service was great and fast. I love Halal food, and Halal Bros has to be my favorite in Austin. I love their salad that they give because it only has lettuce and tomatoes (I'm pretty picky on vegetables), and their white sauce, rice, and gyro is amazing. I've had Halal Bros since I was a freshman, but it's still my go-to whenever I am craving halal. Their parking is really annoying so be sure to watch out for the curb when you're trying to park outside, but they are on a lot of food delivery apps so you can avoid going in person.
