    Chicken Tikka Masala Platter :)
    Sheila L.

This place is always so good! The people are very nice... this time I tried the Chicken Tikka Masala Platter. Is yummy... and spicy!! Love it!! A good portion for rice and Chicken Tikka Masala. They are a great little place to go to if you want good food and a bargain. If you want BOGO check them out on the UberEats app!!

I have been wanting to try Halal Hub for a while and I love the fusion of Indian food too! I tried the combination chicken and gyro plate and it was so delicious! Lots of meat, the white sauce is to die for (I wish I had like two more sauce containers of it), the rice is so moist, and the portions are pretty big! Definitely want to try the tikka masala plate next time!

Came in on a Sunday afternoon and the place was empty. Ordered the chicken shawarma plate and the combination plate. Wow the food had so much flavor and large portions. This is more of a take out spot but there is plenty of sitting inside.

One of my favorite little gems in ATX! As someone who goes to Austin for a lot events, like concerts and plays, this is one place we came to as they were open late at night. Little did I know that one night of trying to find something quick and easy, would easily turn into one of my favorite places to eat in Austin! Their food is just as fantastic as their customer service! They are patient and helpful, when it comes to ordering, not the mention they seem to have deals on their food as the last time we went there was a discount on the order due to paying with cash which was neat! The last two times we went this year they gave us sodas with our meals, complementary! It's so nice to see such a selfless place in the community that has such 5 star quality food. Speaking of the food, fantastic! I've only had their combination plate over rice, and gyro plate over rice, as as someone who wants to try everything on their menu, it's so hard when you try a dish that's too good to not continue to get each time you go haha! Their falafel is the perfect amount of spiced, and their naan bread is to die for ! The plates are hefty, and when I go with someone we usually order our own but now wonder if we should just get one due to how plenty and hefty the order is! They pack it in with the yummiest rice, along with such fresh salad. And their white and red sauce? Let's just say it's so good I've tried to look up how to make their version because I crave it when I'm home! All in all if you're looking for a place with nice atmosphere and delicious late night, or even day time food, this is the place !

I ordered 20 pieces of falafel on a bed of lettuce and the man tried to charge me and also tried to give me something I did not want and then I went on a price of charge more than I wanted to pay for and I had to tell him to take some of it off because that's not what I asked for and that's the second time they tried to do that to me. Try to convince me I need to buy more than I really wanted. They do have a lot of walk-ins all the time because they're open till 12 AM which is the next morning but still at this point it was a mop going through the floors and all the tables were empty except one other table was sitting in man , lots of walk-ins at late night. They do a lot of deliveries for Uber eats so it's a lot of pick ups from other people. so the order was ready within 5 to 10 minutes and I picked it up and he yelled at me saying excuse me across the room. so let's see how the food is today. Hopefully there is no brown lettuce and it's not for the fourth time the lettuce that is soft and not fresh this time the man did not give me any sauces that is white or red last time which been the third time they gave me red sauce and the white sauce. So this time, the man after arguing with me, did not even offer me sauce, and I still have brown lettuce and I have two containers of falafel's like this.

Atmosphere laid back. Friendly staff. Lots of customers. First time eating here. Definitely recommend. Will be back if I'm in the area again. Ordered the Chicken Shawarma with Naan. So delicious! I can make 2 meals out of this. The red sauce is so spicy. Delicious flavors. Too much for a little white girl! Customers were in and out. Deliveries, take out, dine in. Pretty busy but my food was ready quickly.

Incredible out of the world chicken over rice. My hubs and I landed in Austin airport at late night and were super hungry. We doordashed from here. Fantastic meats, flavorful basmati rice which kinda had indian pulav taste to it, fresh lettuce, spicy red and refreshing white sauce came nicely packed to us. We devoured it in no time and kept craving for more. Do not miss this. Must try if you are a fan of OG Halal guy's inspired chicken over rice bowls. Would say this is even better. ;) Read from reviews its a food truck, cannot comment on ambiance or service since we got this meal delivered.

I recently found this place to be my on the go food. Tucked all the way in the far corner in the shopping center, the food here is really good. I have only got chicken over rice here and it is full of flavor and amazingly the prices are super low for the food they serving. Employee's are super nice and helpful. Always offering their masala chai when I pick up my food. Please is clean dining area has lots of seating options. They are super quick and I am in and out within minutes of ordering my food. Great place to get quick bite

A very interesting chain that serves Mediterranean and Indian food which I didn't realize until I stepped inside. I went for Mediterranean since it was what I was craving based on 'Halal' I was assuming it would be similar to Halal Bros. I went for the lamb shawarma wrap and it was fairly priced, overall the wrap was good, could of used a bit more meat and less dressing. It was overly dressed and was messy to eat. I think next time I will try a rice plate instead.

This was my first time trying out this place and I really enjoyed it! The inside was nothing special, definitely a take out kind of place, but I love that they stay open late. I will definitely be coming here instead of McDonald's when I need a late night bite. I got the butter chicken which came with some naan and the chicken was great. The naan wasn't anything to ride home about but it was also good.

Made a return visit yesterday and it was still as good as the first time. I got a #1-Chicken Over Rice with the sauces (red & white) on the side and I also requested to add some red onion to my side salad. The white sauce is my favorite. If you get the sauce on the side I recommend asking for a minimum of 2 cups for your plate as there's very little sauce in the cup. Just my thoughts lol. Definitely give them a try!

The worst gyro in Austin. Save your money.

Updating my review after giving Aba a second chance about nine months later…read more I'm honestly really glad I came back. This time we went in knowing exactly what we liked from our first visit and focused on sharing appetizers, which ended up being the move. We ordered several dishes for the table and left completely full and happy. The whipped feta is still a must-order and every bit as good as I remembered. The Greek village salad was fresh and delicious, and the hummus was also great. The biggest surprise for me was the falafel. As an Arab, I'm usually pretty skeptical when restaurants outside of Middle Eastern spots serve falafel because it rarely lives up to expectations. Aba absolutely nailed it. It was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and one of my favorite dishes of the meal. We sat outside this time, which made for a really nice atmosphere. The service was also a huge improvement from my first experience. Even though the restaurant was busy, our waitress was incredibly kind, attentive, and made us feel well taken care of throughout the meal. I'm happy to say my opinion has completely changed since my first visit. Giving Aba another chance was definitely worth it, and it has officially earned a spot on my Austin rotation whenever I'm in town.

4/5 Stars Overall,…read morewe had a great experience at Aba. The atmosphere is beautiful and makes for a great night out. The beef tenderloin kebab and steak frites were both excellent, and the whipped feta was easily our favorite dish--definitely a must-order. My only complaint is that some of the portions felt small for the price. The Greek Village Salad wasn't worth it in my opinion; for about $20, it was mostly large chunks of tomatoes, cucumber, onion, and feta. Parking on South Congress can also be a bit of a hassle. Overall, the food and ambiance were great. I'd come back, but I wouldn't be rushing to do so.

However, I'll think about coming here again because I didn't feel a good vibe with the service. We had to go look for someone to show us the table even though the place was empty for early lunch. Then, to get drinks or even the order was a problem. It took so much longer than usual. Our waitress was rude, and seemed bothered that we showed up. Then someone else came as the waitress and she was preoccupied with other tables and barely checked on us. A regular lunch which would've been one hour became almost two because of the lack of service. My friend had to stand and look for someone to give us a box to take out the good we couldn't eat because it was getting late and also to get the check because No one came in to check on us at all. It was almost like pulling teeth to get a regular service let alone good service. Again, the food was really good, and that alone was the only positive.

I've only ever ordered takeout at the counter so I can't speak to the dine-in experience, but the service is smooth and efficient. Dessert is ready in about 5 minutes and food orders during busy dinner hours have taken around 20 minutes, which honestly wasn't bad at all given how packed they get. Everything is always packaged nicely and securely, and the food is consistently delicious. They also carry other sweets worth trying like honey cakes and pistachio baklava. On the savory side, some dishes I've really enjoyed are the Mezze Platter, Beef and Lamb Doner, and Ribeye Steak Shish Kebab. It's not super loud but the front can get a bit overstimulating when it's busy, so if you're not a fan of crowds I'd recommend coming outside of peak hours. This most recent time, I didn't realize until I was home that they forgot to pack one of the baklava cheesecakes I'd ordered. Governor's Mixed Kebap Plate ($26.95): The plate came with chicken, köfte meatballs, ground lamb kebap (adana), ezme, pickled red cabbage, onion, rice, and a sauce. I chose the crazy grain rice which is a mix of black rice and lentils, and the spicy harissa sauce. The ezme, pickled red cabbage, and adana were my favorites. The chicken was good too and the köfte meatballs were my least favorite of the bunch. The pita bread was also fire and super fresh, honestly one of the best I've had when it's heated up and warm. The box was completely packed and was easily enough for 2 meals or to share between 2 people. Zucchini Yogurt with Fresh Dill and Walnuts ($3.25): Not a fan. It had a sour aftertaste with a citrusy zing that made me think this went bad. Chicken Lemon Orzo Soup ($6.99): Came with chickpeas, shredded chicken, and orzo. It was really yummy, especially paired with some sourdough bread I had on hand.

It's one of those places that's reliable and feels pretty consistent, knowing you're going to leave happy and full after eating here. The two times we've been there, theres always plenty of seating and are able to walk right in. It's a walk in and seat yourself experience and then you pay upon leaving. The staff keeps the dining area and buffet line consistently stocked and clean. They even provide hand sanitizer and gloves for you. Even when foot traffic picked up while we were there, the food was replenished quickly and didn't look picked over. Now let's talk food...Everything tastes fresh, well-seasoned, and like it was made with care instead of just being "buffet food" an under seasoned. The variety is also amazing, and it's easy to build a plate for pretty much any type of diet whether you're keto, high protein, balanced, veggie-forward, vegan, etc... Some of our favorite dishes we keep coming back for: Shredded beef (SO good), Baked fish (tender and not fishy), Garlic baked chicken (wonderful crispy skin), Fried chicken, Baked kafta, Kafta kebab, Gyro meat, Roasted cauliflower, Eggplant, Greek salad, Fatoush, Kale Caesar salad, Zaatar pizza, Cheese pizza (pro tip: top it with shredded beef- a life changing buffet hack), Rice with lentils, Rice with mixed veggies. For the quality, variety and amount of food you get, this is easily one of the best deals in the city! It's rare to find a buffet that's both affordable and consistently this good! If I had one small wish, it would be for desserts to match how strong the rest of the food is. They're not bad, just a little more "fine" compared to how amazing everything else is. I've seen another Dimassi's (I think in Cali) that had a frozen yogurt machine and I'd LOVE to see that here because it would be the perfect finish! Make a cup and then crumble up some baklava on it! Overall we've LOVED it here and we'll absolutely keep coming back! Great food, clean, consistent, and worth it every time!

Between me, my husband, and my mom, we have a lot of overlap in what we like to eat, but we also have some pretty distinct preferences, and Demassi's is one of those places where that works. My husband really loves Middle Eastern / Mediterranean food. I generally do not. I tend to find the meats too dry, I don't particularly like the spice profile, and I also find a lot of dishes in that category to be overly sour. It's hard to explain, but there's often a sharp, tangy acidity that I don't enjoy. For whatever reason, I don't have that issue at Demassi's at all. Here my husband can get his fix of dry, spiced meats, while I'm happy eating from the huge selection of rice dishes, cooked veggies, and soups. As far as protein goes, I actually really like the fish here, so I almost never eat the meat and still leave satisfied. It usually feels like a healthy pescatarian day for me, which I like. Then there's my mom, who just loves the abundance and variety of a buffet. She's happiest when she can sample a little bit of everything, build plates with lots of small bites, and then go back for more. Demassi's is perfect for that. On top of all of this, it's very reasonably priced, especially for lunch or on weeknights. It's always clean, the staff is consistently courteous, and they are really on top of bussing tables, which matters a lot to me at a buffet. Dirty dishes piling up are never an issue here. Overall, it's a solid, reliable spot for us and a place we're always happy to suggest when we're trying to please multiple people with different tastes.

This is a must get especially if you love warm and creamy stuff. The outside is nicely fried and if you never had it, it's similar to Japanese takoyaki. Although I love it a lot, the portion was just right for sharing because it really fills you up. We also got the potatoes (nice, but nothing that blew my mind) and chicken empanadas that I thought had a strange, sour taste. I wouldn't get that again. I highly recommend getting different tapas instead of the main courses so you can try different things. We were completely satisfied with the meal after getting these but still made room for the orange almond cake!! This was extraordinarily good!! Not too sweet and the cake has a nice moist texture-not dry. It took a while for food to arrive so service was a bit slow. You can also sit outside if you want but we sat indoors since it was chilly.
