Dirt mud cement #2 Gyro Over Rice

I had a very concerning food safety experience here. My order had a gray/brown muddy, cement-like substance stuck to the lettuce and mixed into the food. I took clear photos because it looked like a foreign particle or possible contamination. I brought it back and spoke with the person at the counter, who said he was the manager. Instead of checking the food, investigating what it was, or showing real concern, he told me it was probably from the grocery supplier and that all he could do was give me a refund or replace the food. I asked if I could speak with someone else or get any kind of follow-up on what actually happened, but he said there was nobody else to talk to and that was the only solution. The tone felt dismissive and rude, and there was no apology or reassurance that the issue would be looked into properly. I did receive a refund, but the way the situation was handled was not acceptable for something that looked like a possible food safety issue. I'm seriously considering filing a food safety complaint because customers should not have to push this hard just to have a contamination concern taken seriously.

This place is always so good! The people are very nice... this time I tried the Chicken Tikka Masala Platter. Is yummy... and spicy!! Love it!! A good portion for rice and Chicken Tikka Masala. They are a great little place to go to if you want good food and a bargain. If you want BOGO check them out on the UberEats app!!

I have been wanting to try Halal Hub for a while and I love the fusion of Indian food too! I tried the combination chicken and gyro plate and it was so delicious! Lots of meat, the white sauce is to die for (I wish I had like two more sauce containers of it), the rice is so moist, and the portions are pretty big! Definitely want to try the tikka masala plate next time!

Came in on a Sunday afternoon and the place was empty. Ordered the chicken shawarma plate and the combination plate. Wow the food had so much flavor and large portions. This is more of a take out spot but there is plenty of sitting inside.

One of my favorite little gems in ATX! As someone who goes to Austin for a lot events, like concerts and plays, this is one place we came to as they were open late at night. Little did I know that one night of trying to find something quick and easy, would easily turn into one of my favorite places to eat in Austin! Their food is just as fantastic as their customer service! They are patient and helpful, when it comes to ordering, not the mention they seem to have deals on their food as the last time we went there was a discount on the order due to paying with cash which was neat! The last two times we went this year they gave us sodas with our meals, complementary! It's so nice to see such a selfless place in the community that has such 5 star quality food. Speaking of the food, fantastic! I've only had their combination plate over rice, and gyro plate over rice, as as someone who wants to try everything on their menu, it's so hard when you try a dish that's too good to not continue to get each time you go haha! Their falafel is the perfect amount of spiced, and their naan bread is to die for ! The plates are hefty, and when I go with someone we usually order our own but now wonder if we should just get one due to how plenty and hefty the order is! They pack it in with the yummiest rice, along with such fresh salad. And their white and red sauce? Let's just say it's so good I've tried to look up how to make their version because I crave it when I'm home! All in all if you're looking for a place with nice atmosphere and delicious late night, or even day time food, this is the place !

Incredible out of the world chicken over rice. My hubs and I landed in Austin airport at late night and were super hungry. We doordashed from here. Fantastic meats, flavorful basmati rice which kinda had indian pulav taste to it, fresh lettuce, spicy red and refreshing white sauce came nicely packed to us. We devoured it in no time and kept craving for more. Do not miss this. Must try if you are a fan of OG Halal guy's inspired chicken over rice bowls. Would say this is even better. ;) Read from reviews its a food truck, cannot comment on ambiance or service since we got this meal delivered.

Atmosphere laid back. Friendly staff. Lots of customers. First time eating here. Definitely recommend. Will be back if I'm in the area again. Ordered the Chicken Shawarma with Naan. So delicious! I can make 2 meals out of this. The red sauce is so spicy. Delicious flavors. Too much for a little white girl! Customers were in and out. Deliveries, take out, dine in. Pretty busy but my food was ready quickly.

I recently found this place to be my on the go food. Tucked all the way in the far corner in the shopping center, the food here is really good. I have only got chicken over rice here and it is full of flavor and amazingly the prices are super low for the food they serving. Employee's are super nice and helpful. Always offering their masala chai when I pick up my food. Please is clean dining area has lots of seating options. They are super quick and I am in and out within minutes of ordering my food. Great place to get quick bite

A very interesting chain that serves Mediterranean and Indian food which I didn't realize until I stepped inside. I went for Mediterranean since it was what I was craving based on 'Halal' I was assuming it would be similar to Halal Bros. I went for the lamb shawarma wrap and it was fairly priced, overall the wrap was good, could of used a bit more meat and less dressing. It was overly dressed and was messy to eat. I think next time I will try a rice plate instead.

This was my first time trying out this place and I really enjoyed it! The inside was nothing special, definitely a take out kind of place, but I love that they stay open late. I will definitely be coming here instead of McDonald's when I need a late night bite. I got the butter chicken which came with some naan and the chicken was great. The naan wasn't anything to ride home about but it was also good.

Made a return visit yesterday and it was still as good as the first time. I got a #1-Chicken Over Rice with the sauces (red & white) on the side and I also requested to add some red onion to my side salad. The white sauce is my favorite. If you get the sauce on the side I recommend asking for a minimum of 2 cups for your plate as there's very little sauce in the cup. Just my thoughts lol. Definitely give them a try!

A bun.

We were sat outside in this beautiful oasis. I didn't even remember I was in Austin, I thought I was in Greece throughout my meal. There were so many different types of seating, an outdoor bar and the whole outdoor area was covered in plant and trees and lights! The outside set up was jaw dropping beautiful. I couldn't believe we didn't get too hot and how beautiful everything outside was. This is a Mediterranean place, so the menu was very heavy on that. I love this kind of food, so I found plenty of option that I would like. To start, as a table, we split the hummus, feta dip and roasted pork belly bites. The whipped feta dip was the best that I have ever had. It came with plenty of pita bread, cucumbers and carrots. It wasn't enough for all of us to eat how much we wanted lol, but we all did try some of it. All of the appetizers were very fresh and light tasting. They came out in a decent amount of time too. For my entree, I got the grilled chicken kabob. After all of the appetizers I had, I wasn't even hungry for dinner, but I did manage to eat some of it. It was a pretty simple but delicious tasting kabob. It was one skewer with half a plate of basmati rice. Idk if it would have filled me up if I didn't have some appetizers, but it certainly was delicious. The service was spot on. The waitress took her time other us and kept checking in to see if we needed anything. Whenever I am back in town, this will be my first stop!!

Short rib shakshuka (2/5) Everything is so fresh and it was so hard getting a reservation and now I know why. I would order everything again except the shakshuka. The shakshuka lacked flavor, which was odd since everything else was super flavorful. The short rib was a little tough and the poached egg still had runny whites we subbed out the potatoes in the shawarma skirt steak for brussel sprouts, which was totally worth it. I would love to come back for dinner and try their fish. Service was 5/5. Our waitress was super friendly and checked up on us. The food runners were very prompt. All the starters and mezze came out pretty fast so we always had food. I love how they give unlimited pita and their pita is so good! Having been to Ema, we wanted to try Aba which has been in Austin longer. It was harder to get a reservation at Aba. The parking situation is a bummer at Aba though, which is why I gave it 4/5. The parking garage next door is $35. I think you can get $3 off from Aba. We parked somewhere else, which was also a bit pricey and a hassle. You're lucky if you can find street parking. Being a native Austinite, I both love and dislike how Austin has exploded. I wish the parking garage would work something out with Aba. Perla's, before it burned down, validated parking for 2hrs down the street. Too bad you can't get that here. Final verdict is that it's worth the hassle to park to eat here but I probably won't come as often because parking is a friction point. Aba is not hurting for my business though as it was already very busy when we arrived.

Combining that with the Egyptian spices makes for such a unique, delicious experience. I don't really see an argument against having them in the S tier of Austin bbq I've been pleasantly surprised at how short the lines generally are when I come. Even on weekends around lunchtime I don't think I've had more than a 20 minute wait. The lamb chops do tend to run out fairly quickly and I have had a few visits where some other items are out. If you're dead set on those coming closer to late morning is probably the move. The space is fantastic, given the volume of people visiting here doesn't go up dramatically. Theres plenty of tables, the brewery has solid beer options, and it's one of the few brewery type spaces in Austin that will consistently have games on. If they ever get the level of attention their quality deserves, this goes out the window. The line area does not have room for a franklins/interstellar type line. My guess is they'll eventually go the brick and mortar route. Overall I can't recommend this spot enough!

I was prepared to splurge, since it was my birthday, and I picked a Michelin rec. But I was immediately struck by how reasonably priced everything was. We went all in. The food was fantastic. I really don't know what else to say. It absolutely deserves its incredible reputation, and it honestly might be the best bang for your buck in TX BBQ. The atmosphere is really cool too. They're stationed outside of Oddwood brewing and shares seating. The outdoor and indoor seating are both very nice. Oddwood also has some great retro arcade games. It makes for a great afternoon or evening out.

Austin Restaurant Week takes place from August 28th through September 13th. First stop...Rollin Smoke BBQ, located in the Chalmers building, which filled with a crowd of people. I ordered a pull pork sandwich, mac-n-cheese and banana pudding. The pulled pork sandwich was huge, which I shared with the hubs. Quite honestly, I was full after eating 1/4 of the sandwich, which had cabbage, pickles and of course the pork (not the typical stringy pork but chunks of pork bursting with smokey flavor). The mac-n-cheese was substantial with cheese filled shell pasta with a hint of a smokey flavor. So yummy...Well, I might have eaten "all" the banana pudding. I am definitely returning to check out the Half Chicken Plate with 2 small sides that I eyeballed.
