Chicken Malai Kebab
Rishi P.

Not much of a wait for a Saturday, several to go orders. I started with samosas chicken and they were delicious, I inhaled them and were very tasty. I added pepper chicken which was very tender. Service was sort of hit or miss even with it being a slow night. I had to wait for water to be filled. The place was going through renovations as some of the floors had dents from where old items were. At least I hope that's what it was. Chicken kebab was not what I was expecting. I expected it to be soft and tender and it was very thick and tough to bite into but it was cooked well. I'd prefer to go for the appetizers if I go back next time.

Every vegetarian choice on the lunch buffet (including the fried rice on the carnivore side).

Very prompt seating, separate steam tables for vegetarian vs. meat selections at the buffet lunch, water glasses kept full, wide variety of choices. Gorgeous hot, fresh naan arrived as soon as we got back to the table (with very full plates). The ice cream fromshop next door has moved into the Spice space.

Chicken Korma

Not only do they open late, their food is delicious! I highly recommend the chicken korma. It was perfect in every way with the creaminess and flavoring. I also tried the chole bhatura. It was good but not my favorite place to get it here. I normally get vegetarian samosa but decided to try chicken samosa. Personally, I like the vegetarian samosa more. Their garlic naan was good too. They also have Indian flavoring for their icecream. My one complaint is that for two scoops and one cone, it was $8. It's a bit expensive, but was yummy.

This restaurant is goofy. When you sign into uber eats, you would see Spice fine restaurant and Ags spice fine restaurant. I ordered through spice fine restaurant and went to pick up the order. They said that restaurant belongs to the previous owner. My money is gone. I logged a request for refund with uber eats. I've not received it yet. They are stealing money. Stealing money in disguise of serving food is a sin. Hopefully they would get punished for all of their sins. I wrote the same review for Ag's Spice fine restaurant, as they're operating with two names. https://www.yelp.com/biz/ags-spice-indian-cuisine-austin You can find the screenshots below. :

This is officially my new favorite Indian spot in Austin! I got spice level 4 and it was perfect! I'm gonna regret it later but it's soooo worth the pain lol I can't wait to order the fish! I was wanting to try the buffet but work won't let me be great.

The food at spice Indian is cuisine is very flavorful and delicious! All of the ingredients pair perfectly together with all the dishes I tried. I got an order of the fish tiki masala, lamb korma, and an order of the veggie samosas. I thought the veggie samosas packed quite a punch with them on the spice level. One thing this restaurant does need to work on is their ambience and appearance. This seems to be more of a take out spot. I went on a Friday night and I was the only one dining in. The tables, chairs, and flooring were all a little dated. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. If you are looking for delicious Indian food to this is definitely your spot!

These people should not be allowed to run a restaurant business . I would pursue legal action against them if I had the time and resources to do so. I am still considering all my options. I am a vegetarian by dietary preference. The vegetarian dish I ordered came with chicken in it. During my last visit, the plate had worms in it (in hindsight, I should not have given them another chance by visiting again). I hope some authorities carry out an inspection and teach them a lesson. AVOID THIS PLACE !

Have done buffet and ordered takeout over the last few months. Buffet was really good! More variety than I expected. Lots of vegetarian options and decent meat options. Buffet Biryani was the low point of this meal which is a shame as I love Biryani. the overuse of seasoning made this dish inedible. But I've had Biryani from here before and it wasn't bad so it must just have been that day. Takeout has been good - came fast and they give decent portions. Butter chicken is delicious and so is Chicken Chettinad for something slightly different. Overall, a good option for decent Indian food in this area.

This is braver, edgier, and spicier than other Indian buffets in Austin. Bites of goat meat must be sucked off of the bone, and taste better for it. Other meats are often bone-in as well. Naan is brought fresh to your table. There is a large vegetarian section. I quite like this place!

Garlic naan, goat tikka masala (front), and fish vindaloo (back)

On a rainy day, Spice Fine stands tall and proud in the HEB strip mall. The restaurant is welcoming and the staff are all friendly and efficient. Only thing was that the space between tables down the middle of the room is a bit tight. If you're sitting with your back to another table, you better hope no one is sitting right behind you, or else your chairs will be battling for real estate. We ordered the garlic naan, goat tikka masala, and the fish vindaloo. You can walk into 5 Indian restaurants and get naan cooked 6 different ways. The naan here is thin and nicely crispy. The garlic is cooked just right, where it's near the point of burning, but the flavor is good and strong. The goat is bone-in and the meat is wonderfully tender with a nice amount of fat. Quantity is pretty good as well. The tikka masala is delicious and at a spice level of 3, is the perfect amount for me where it makes me sweat a bit. But of course, YMMV. I only had a few bites of the fish vindaloo, but the fish was tender and breaks apart easily. Definitely a place I would frequent whenever the Indian food cravings kick in.

Meet a few friends and we tried various dishes. The restaurant was clean and quaint inside with several tables and booths. There was one person working the dining area and they got busy by the time we left. When they were walking out with the sizzling skillet I was thinking who ordered this?! And it was me. lol the Brussels sprouts had a great flavor and I enjoyed this as well as the momos. Overall I enjoyed the food and would recommend if you're in the area. The menu is quite extensive so be prepared to make some tuff choices. We also went with the momo (Nepali Dumplings. We went with the Kothey momos which you can choose from veg or chicken ($9) and they come with 5 served with a dipping sauce. These were another hit! The sauce was served room temp and not spicy at all. Very well balanced. For my main I went with the lamb biriyani! And great selection! The rice could have been a bit more seasoned but overall 9/10. My friend got the salmon and it looked amazing! This place is really cute and spacious! Plenty of seating, quick and friendly service and lots of parking since it's in a shopping center!

I asked for my order to be not spicy because I have a toddler to feed as well and unfortunately it was still moderately spicy, so my toddler wasnt able to eat the main dishes :/ The chicken tikka masala was okay, pretty tomato forward and felt a lil bland. The chicken was tender though. Same with the saag paneer. they did give me a good portion for both entrees but it was also not as flavorful as some others ive had. dont think I would come back. Would probably try a different spot next time. In the past I have had Northern Indian food that is creamier and the flavor profiles are pretty different. This spot isnt bad though. Samosas were average nothing crazy, the potato filling was bland and outer shell could have been crispier. They also did not give any chutney for the samosas which was a bit disappointing as well.

There was one other patron in the restaurant, yet service was extremely slow and abysmal. We had to wait a full 20 minutes after asking for the check, and our server was distracted and uninterested the whole time. Food was also a let down. The mangalore chicken curry had a layer of oil floating on top. Dumping oil in the food just kills the flavor. Served with a tiny portion of rice, not nearly enough for two people to share. Before going, we browsed the online menu, and what immediately caught my attention was the focus on the west coast of India, especially Goa, Mangalore, and Kerala. It was refreshing to see something beyond the usual North Indian or standard South Indian fare that most restaurants tend to offer. We were tempted to order widely, but in the end we chose two starters and one entrée. The mushroom and paneer starters were both excellent, yet very different from each other. The paneer was smooth and rich, almost comforting in its finish, while the mushroom dish had a gentle tang that brightened every bite. The contrast worked beautifully. For the entrée, we chose the Bunt Kori Gassi, a Mangalorean chicken dish. The flavors were delicate and well balanced, with spices that enhanced rather than overwhelmed. We paired it with Malabar parottas and aappams, which were perfect for soaking up the gravy. Even the complimentary rice stood out. It was not the usual basmati, but a more local variety, a small detail that showed the thoughtfulness behind the meal. The sol kadhi, made with kokum, brought back memories of home. It had that familiar cooling tang that is hard to replicate. We finished with mango kulfi, which was subtle, not overly sweet, and a gentle way to end the meal. The chef came out to greet us personally, which made the experience even more meaningful. He explained that they use mostly organic ingredients and avoid artificial colors. We shared our appreciation for both the food and the service and left hoping they continue to maintain these standards. The menu is already being expanded, including a section for more traditional Indian restaurant offerings. We are looking forward to returning and exploring more of what they have to offer.
