I have been coming to Leyla's cafe every week this school year. I have never been disappointed with any meal I have gotten there, even during lent when I was restricted to vegan options. The customer service is always amazing across all the employees, but especially the nice older guy. I have ordered their lamb gyros, which are always on point with huge servings. One of the few meals I actually like uncooked tomatoes in. The tzatziki sauce is so perky, it compliments the seasoning of the extremely flavorful and tender lamb perfectly. The Gyro Plate was one of the first "bigger" meals that I got. It tasted heavenly and was worth the extra price from the gyro wrap. It was my first experience with their hummus, which is some of the best I've ever had. I brought some home to my family because they sell tubs of hummus to go (for a similar price to what you could get at HEB, actually, and much better) and they ate it all within minutes. This has been a regular thing too. During lent I would order a lentil soup, pita, and falafel side that totaled at just under $6. This is an incredible price for how good it is. The falafels are genuinely the best falafels I have ever tried, crispy (but not hard) on the outside, and fluffy (not soggy) on the inside. Flavor was amazing. Just last week I ordered a lamb kebab plate. Folks, be prepared if you order this. This meal is HUGE. The lamb was heavenly, and I was really happy that they grilled the kebabs with some onions and peppers, really added flavor. The kebabs are made to order, so they're always fresh. Its worth the wait fellas. Come back and give this one a try if you're not rushed. Can I also mention they gave me a free soda on this one? What a nice restaurant! They're always quick except for kebabs (but give 'em the grace because its fresh cooking). 10/10 restaurant, give it a shot! read more

I really liked their gyro wrap. The meat was tender and seasoned well and not dry! The pita was crispy and warm. I ordered the combo so it came with fries but they were alright. They could be crispier. I also got to try their baklava which was really good, I had to go up a second time to order more! The workers were really nice and the food came out fast. I really wanted to love Leyla's knowing it was a friend's favorite, but it was just ok. Ordered a chicken shawarma pita for pickup, everything ready on time with no wait. I first tried this place in 2023 and it was really tasty. Since then I have had it 10+ times. The only items I usually get are the chicken and gyro plate, the gyro plate, or the gyro. In addition to those I have had their fries, onion rings, and fried pickles. I will say I really do enjoy their rice, their jalapeño sauce, and their gyro wraps. I do feel like something is missing from their wraps however and I wish it had one more thing. I also don't prefer their fries. Other than that my only complaints are: inconsistent portion sizes, varying taste of the hummus, hard bits in the gyro meat (sometimes ), and occasionally they don't have certain things that are on the menu available. The pitas that come on the side of their plates is a lot thinner than what I prefer but they are large and still tasty. There are great flavors in the meat. The cucumbers are refreshing. And I do like their hummus a lot (when it's tasting right). They are also sully pretty quick about getting my order to me as well. I do feel like the mediterranean scene in the Austin area has fell off so it's not something I get as much anymore, but when I am craving it I think Leyla's is a good fix. read more

Solid Mediterranean food at Leyla's! We opted for delivery from Leyla's after a long day working around the house. Good choice. The food was pre-ordered earlier in the day and arrived on time! We tried three different plates, beef kabob, ground lamb and a chicken/gyro meat combo. All the meats were good, the beef gyro was our favorite of the group. The sides were hummus, tabbouleh, eggplant and house salad. The house salad was unimpressive, but the other three sides were deelish! We'd avoid the house salad next time around. Leyla's is a nice find for a quick Mediterranean craving fix in Cedar Park. The staff is very friendly, and they offer a couple decent vegetarian and vegan options. One thing I found interesting was that I was able to try fried okra instead of falafel as a side for my vegetarian plate. I love fried okra, but often only associate it with Southern food restaurants like Luby's. My boyfriend got a shawarma wrap but found the wrap to be too oily for his taste. He did get through half before calling it quits. As for my plate, I gobbled up the hummus and okra, and even used some tahini to dip the fried okra into. There was a LOT of food however, so I couldn't get through the rice or my side pita (I did eat the side pita the next day though)! I wouldn't say this is my favorite or the best Mediterranean restaurant in the Austin area, but if you are starving and craving some okra and hummus, this is a good spot to head to. read more

This is my second time trying this place. They have döner on the spit behind the counter, but they didn't cut the meat off the döner for my order. They put chunks of chicken reheated in the kitchen. Not tasty. The tzatziki tasted like ordinary mayonnaise. I won't be try this place again. read more

It was only my second time here, and it was the first time I ate inside. I ordered the chicken and gyro plate. It was ready for pick up in about 5 minutes. I enjoyed the different flavors. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. The meat was soft and blended well. The staff was nice and observant. They offered assistance when I looked lost trying to find the napkins. There were only a couple of people eating inside, but several customers stopped in to pick up their orders. When the customers inside left the staff cleaned the tables. The seating was functional, and they were playing Mediterranean music, I'm guessing. It was nice and soothing. There is plenty of parking that is shared with a few other businesses. If you like Mediterranean Food or just want to try some, then stop by Layla's. You might be pleasantly surprised. read more

The staff here is fabulous! I received a very warm welcome when I came in.  And when they found out it was my forest time, they seemed to go the extra mile to help me make a great choice and choose my baklava. My Greek salad with chicken was crazy good! It was covered with so much chicken that I was actually full before I got to the salad! And the baklava! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Went in tonight at 8:20, and ordered a grilled chicken kebab, and the manager/owner said they couldn't make it because they close at 9:00 and the chicken would take 25 minutes to cook. Um, excuse me??? 25 minutes to grill some cubed pieces of chicken?! Absolutely ridiculous! Even if it did take 25 minutes, which I seriously doubt, you still would have enough time to cook it. He just didn't want to. They had my daughter's order out in a manner of minutes. And I only ordered food for her, I didn't order anything. They just wanted to use up their old food that they had already had cooked, and they didn't want to cook fresh food! This restaurant is an absolute joke and has no clue how to treat their customers! Delighted with my experience from this Mediterranean cafe. I ordered the food for delivery and the service was great. The food was well packaged so it kept it temperature. It arrived fairly quickly after ordering. The menu options offer your traditional Mediterranean options. I went for the gyro plate and it was a delicious choice. The portions are great this dish will definitely fill you! The pita bread was unique and a little thinner than your traditional pita. I myself prefer the traditional thick pita bread so that part left a little something to be desired. Overall I would order from here again and recommend to anyone. read more

This is one of the absolute worst meals I've eaten in my life, the chicken shawarma made me feel like I was digging for scraps in a dumpster in Austin. I've eaten a lot of questionable restaurants, but this takes the cake. Everything I ordered was absolutely atrocious. I would have been better off gambling the money, and eating some grass/dirt, really whatever else I could find. I highly advise anyone to go literally anywhere else. read more

A very special lunch. I love Mediterranean food. I decided to treat myself considering I have to tolerate 2 medical appointments this week. My doctor says it comes with aging, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Anyway, I've been wanting to try Leila's Mediterranean café for a while now. This week was the week. I arrived around 2 PM and there were several people dining scattered about the dining room, which is quite large and very casual. There is a TV (which was off.) There was music playing, which was reflective of the culture and I enjoyed it immensely. You go to the counter to order, of which I was not sure since it was my first time there . It's toward the back of the property when you get there you'll see quite a large menu above you on the wall above the food prep area and I was hungry, so I really didn't study at all that well but I will on my next trip. I ordered a.Gyro Plate. I also ordered a soda. I'll speak to the soda. Unfortunately I chose Fanta orange and I guess the flavor must have been outdoor very low because of I could taste was fizz. I did not bother to tell them or I'm sure they would have refreshed the fountain drinks. My Gyro meat was chopped and very easy to eat. It was very tasty, spiced lightly. The meat was on a bed of jasmine rice, which was perfectly cooked. There was a side of tzatziki sauce-which went well with the salad in the meat. In the last compartment, there was a chopped salad with tomato, lettuce, onion, Greek olives, &cucumber. They placed a large Naan and some red and white, checked serving paper, and that completed the meal. It was more than adequate for one and could have easily been shared by two people. I'd like to try some other things here and I did see several people ordering the chicken so I may try that next time. My mom kept raving about this place and how good it was so she brought me for lunch. I had really high hopes but was disappointed, we did come around 3 and the place was completely empty so maybe that contributed to the food not being all that great. The chicken was super dry and their pita was dry and tough. My mom agreed, but said her previous experiences were not like this. However, their Shawarma sauce was amazing and I drenched my food in it and ate it. I gave this place three stars because maybe if I came at a busier time I'd have a better chance of the chicken not being dry. It's been a couple years since we last ate at Leyla's. Those first few times we went (right after they opened), we thought the food was incredible. Today was a different story, however. The service was just as fast as it was years ago, but the food was just...off. We got fried mushrooms and fried pickles, because we had them the first few times we went here. Both were essentially 85% breading, 10% seasoning and 5% pickle or mushroom. Plus, the pickles were wayyyyy spicy, so my wife couldn't eat them. Main courses weren't any better. Both the gyro plate and the falafel wrap were bland as bland gets. A couple of years ago, they were full of flavor. I don't know what changed in the kitchen, but today it just wasn't up to par. My wife was craving Mediterranean food and we hadn't really found one we could call our "go-to" spot. She saw the reviews for Leyla's and we decided we need to investigate. Leyla's is truly a hidden gem in Cedar Park. The meal are made fresh to order by native cooks. Chicken and beef are spinning on the grills when you walk in. I had the "Special Wrap of the Day", with a free side and drink. I opted for the "Gyro wrap", comes with fries and drink for $7.77. My wife had the "Chicken Kabob plate". Food came fresh, hot and delicious. The Gyro came with a very tasty sauce, lettuce and chunks or tomato. Fries lightly kisses with seasoning salt. The Chicken Kabob plate came with some chunks of nicely seasoned chicken, rice , salad and pita. She did mention she thought the Pita may have been a bit old or stale. Very good! We stopped in Layla's Meditaranian Grill at the sight of our daughter. The food was fantastic and the staff was excellent. Loved the quaint feel to this special place. This will be a regular stop for us. Prices were super reasonable I got the chicken Shawarma and the chicken Shawarma plate to take home. Ordered extra pita bread and veggies to go. Garlic sauce was really good on it. My husband got the falafel with tabbouleh plate. SO GOOD. read more

We tried this for the first time tonight. The place's decor is spartan but the restaurant itself quite spacious. You order and pay, they make the food, you grab it and eat. The menu far from extensive. In the kitchen, four or five very polite young fellas were working hard, picking up the phone and cooking for what seemed like a lot of to-go orders. I ordered the kafta plate. The portion was big, mostly rice. There were two burger-shaped kafta patties. It was alright. The sides were hummus which was ok and a simple salad. Where they really screwed up was the pita, which is key: I got slightly stale, cold, hard Phoenicia pita (I saw the bag over the counter) that anyone who's lived in Austin for a while is familiar with. Honestly, it sucked. Leyla's gotta up their game, because the competition is tough: Levant, Peace Bakery, Dimassis, Almarah all bake great pita in-house; Usta brings it to you STRAIGHT from the oven I'm not even joking; TLV flies it from freaking NY; Tabarek hidden gem has this awesome Iraqi bread... and here it's stale Phoenicia pita. Unforgivable. I'm unlikely to return even though they're the closest to me. read more

Been awaiting the opening of this place since they put up their sign! For the longest time I've been craving good arabic food in our corner of the woods. Typically I'd have to head to downtown to get my fix. Laylas seems to be a family run affair, which is nice to see as it usually means good made from scratch food. Happy to report the food is super good! Despite some day 1 service hiccups, the food we got was fantastic. We tried the chicken shawarma, shish tawook (grilled chicken) plate and a bunch of appetizers. Having lived in the middle east I can say the food was as close to the real thing I've had in years. Little things like the spiced rice, the fresh kibbeh, the tabbouleh and homemade pickles really drove home that they're putting a lot of love into the food from the get go. Highly recommended!
