Been a happy customer for quite some time, but I am learning ordering delivery has become a bit hit or miss with them when selecting options and add ons, not sure they are reading the orders thoroughly. If you want add ons, it is probably best to go in to the store in person to verify. If you want fries, they don't stand up to delivery, even with priority service, the way they are packaged they end up steamed and soggy. The Chicken shawarma wrap was very good, even if the wrap a little soggy. The chicken shawarma over rice was very good, but missing some ingredients. I ordered chicken and gyro over rice to go. I've always known that Halal Bros usually can feed me for two meals, but I was still always happily surprised when I got my dish. The bowl was packed to the rim with meat. Both the chicken and gyro were flavorful and paired so well with the light and fluffy rice. I particularly like that both the cucumber and tomatoes were diced and not just sliced; they made it so much easier to mix with the meat and rice so I get a bit of everything in each bite. Staff were disengaged and a simple fast food order- No substitutions no special order took 35 minutes before being served. At 30 minutes I demanded a refund intent to walk out. The cashier was unable or unwilling to comply. I know that staffing troubles or off nights happen, but tonight was poorly managed on every front. This place used to be our go to, but not after today... I asked for lamb shawarma, and the girl at register said she didn't have today. So I asked for lamb kebab, and she asks the guy in the back and he said no. Then I asked for beef shawarma and she asks the back again, and they didn't have... She should have known what is available or not and clearly communicate up front instead of me keep asking and they just say no. It was super frustrating! I just went across the street to Falafel Burger & Shawarma and got a beef shawarma there instead which was big AND delicious! Seriously get your management together Halal Bros! I won't be coming back here at least for awhile as there are many other restaurants. Food is always great here. They are very quick on making your food as well. Remember to get extra white sauce and red sauce if you taking it Togo. Got the chicken over rice and combo over rice. Usually these will last me 2 meals which is great. Tons of rice and decent amount of chicken. The extra sauce is need if you are save for another day which will make it a little moist again. I order at this place WAY too many times through UberEats but never in person. When I was having my car checked at Qualtech the other day, I pulled up Yelp to see what's nearby and thought hey, Halal Bros is so close and it would be so nice to actually see the location, environment and people who work there. And yes indeed, not only are items priced cheaper compared to UberEats, I saved an additional $10 on tips and delivery fees. It also smelled so good when I walked in and I wanted to order everything. And I almost forgot, on UberEats I could only order the over rice options but my husband is on Keto diet which could mean more work for us to pick out the protein for him. However if you order in store (the friendly staff told me), you could just do protein over salad and boom, that's my husband's perfect meal. We have had no bad experiences either online or in person here. I was impressed by how tidy the place was. Halal Bros was probably the first "halal cart" style food I had ever had. I tried it many years ago after the opened their first Brick and Mortar location on UT campus. I instantly fell in love with it and it became one of my favorite restaurants. It's really good food and always a place I like to take friends who have never had this type of food to. I always get the combo over rice, which is a massive plate of rice covered in chicken and gyro as well as white and red sauce. The portion size is very generous and can definitely be made into two meals. The only reason this is not five stars is that it can sometimes be a little inconsistent, especially the chicken. Over time the quality has gone down a little bit and other restaurants similar to this in the austin area have caught up. It's still the og "halal cart" style food in Austin but it's not the undisputed best anymore. Tips: - Make sure to ask for extra sauce on the side (no extra charge), especially if you plan on having leftovers. If you heat it up the sauce dries up so it's always good to have extra on the side. - You can ask for no salad and they'll replace it with more rice and meat for no extra charge. It's a lot more value and makes the meal more filling but less balanced. - Combo over rice in my opinion is the best item especially since you get two different meats. My go to place if I want a quick lunch or dinner. They give a massive portion that can easily be split into two smaller meals. Service is super fast and they don't ever seem super busy either which helps make it in and out. My normal order is the gyro over rice. Spiced meat, plenty of orange rice and as much white sauce as you want. A little salad comes with it to make you feel a little healthier. Can't beat that. Kept what came with it, with white and red sauce. He loves spicy, and he said the red sauce was REALLY spicy. I like the Lamb and chicken breasts, so I had the combo over rice. I knew I did not want the spicy, so asked for no red sauce on mine and no onions on my salad. I ordered extra white sauce (I highly recomend that). But, boy, were we surprised on HOW MUCH comes in one container! It made enought for TWO meals! There was a lot of salad (which had small pickles on top, was not expecting that), and a lot of yellow rice. I just finished the second half today. We love halal bros and typically go to the Braker Lane location and tried this one today. We kept finding these seed seasonings in our rice and it made it super hard to eat. So next time will stick to chicken kebab. rice was good, nicely flavored, portions were good both chicken and rice. I've had Halal Guys in Houston before and they don't even compare to Halal Bros. I was accidentally over-charged for my food one time and I was debating on letting it slide or asking for pita bread for it. Very quiet at 2:30 when we arrived for lunch. I had never been but was with my grand daughter who frequented their Guadalupe location while attending UT. She got Falafel over jasmine rice. So the negative was 2 things-first we never got the chips and second it was a bit of a challenge communicating with the employee at the register. The menu is above the counter where we ordered. There is no explanation of the dishes. We were given cups for our fountain beverages. The options were quite nice Main Root Soda in a variety of flavors-diet Mexican Coke-and some other options. We sat down at a two-top after getting our plastic ware and napkins. Our meals were delivered all wrapped up to go but that wasn't our plan so we unwrapped and started in. Both of our meals were delicious and the portions abundant! There are 2 sauces available in the cooler-a while sauce and a bright red/orange hot sauce. The meats or falafel on rice comes in quite a large bowl with rice on the bottom and quite a bit of whatever protein you've chosen along with a side salad that's toward the left side of the bowl, but can be mixed in it was all quite refreshing.!!! I enjoy heat, but this was too hot for me as I didn't know that the rice was also spicy. Slowest service with mediocre food. For self service restaurant, our food was ready after 30-40 min. Combo over rice was extremely overrated. Chicken was pretty much tasteless. It tasted like it was boiled and sautéed which was bland. We also had to-go order which wasn't ready for another 40 ish minutes. When we went to check on the order they had it ready for several minutes but never called us. Dolmas and Falafels were good. Of all, the most annoying part was they were drilling the wall in the kitchen which was very ignorant of workers since they should have done that when there were no customers. Middle Eastern food has been my weakness lately. Made the short drive over to Halal Bros for lunch. It is in the HEB strip mall on 620 and Anderson Mill. Tucked between Torchy's and Daily Juice. Out front is a long communal table for nice weather eating. Once inside head to your right to get to the ordering counter. Above is a handwritten menu in chalk (Hard to Read) with prices. A quick summary would be you can get a plate with rice and protein, salad with protein, or a wrap with protein. Proteins are chicken, beef, lamb, or Falafel. I requested the Kofta wrap, side of falafel and dolmas. It was about $14.00 It took a while to get my order. They were frying up the Kofta and falafels. I knew my food would be fresh. They bundled up my food really well. The wrap was made with the thinner pita which I like. The kofta meat was well seasoned. Plenty of vegetables were included. This satisfied my craving. The falafels were OMG good. The four came with a white and hot red sauce. The hot sauce is definitely HOT!!!!! Finally the dolmas, you get four and they were good. I have a feeling I'll be taking this drive more often. read more

I've tried a Halal Guys in Houston and was not impressed, although similar in name they should not be confused for them whatsoever! I have tried it a few times and have found that their gyro wraps are average but if you get their meat over rice with an extra pita wrap it is a much better experience. I've had Halal Bros before but wanted to give this location a shot. Let me tell you, they did not disappoint! Got the chicken shawarma plate with a side of pita bread and hummus. First of all, wow! The proportions are incredible for what you pay. I ordered via delivery and unfortunately the beautiful layering of white and hot red sauce didn't make it but that's okay, I was going to mix them together anyways. One could argue the rice makes up the bulk of the meal but there is also so much chicken on the plate! I was amazed at how much food I got and could easily make 2 meals out of it all if I restrain myself (I'm trying as I type this). The pita bread came neatly wrapped and was still very warm upon opening. It looks and tastes fresh along with the beautiful hummus. The hummus had a zing to it between its spices and lemon notes. I liked how thick the hummus was too rather than super creamy. The chicken shawarma was tender and full of flavor along with the rice. The white and red hot sauces both mixed together to take the dish over the top. So much good stuff packed in to a bowl! There is a salad packed on to one side of the dish which would be my only point of feedback: I wish the salad came separately just so it didn't get hot from the rice and chicken. All good as I devoured it along with the hummus. I have been coming to Halal Bros for years. I have been ordering the same meal the entire time and have loved it each time. However, the experience to my latest ordered has negated those positive experiences over the years. We ordered the food as normal, picked it up, and took it home. We began to eat and my partner found a larger fingernail in her food. She was of course disgusted by the find and could not continue. She then went to the Resturant to inform them of this very disturbing find. The reaction and choice was to deny the find, make claims that everyone wears gloves (when no one was wearing them at the time or the time we picked up food) and to state GrubHub would need to deal with it as the order came online. As a long time customer this showed the character of the owner (who was called and dismissed the issue) and the culture of the workforce. I was extremely disappointed and shocked by this reaction, the denial and will choose to never come back to any location for Halal Bros. Mistakes happen and people are not perfect but to choose to make the customer the villain for the Resturant mistakes and choices and not take ownership shows that this is not the type of business we can support going forward. read more
