Milano Cafe is such a charming place. The owner greeted us and told us to "sit anywhere" so we chose a different room from our previous visits. We enjoy the artwork as we enjoy a glass of wine. I ordered the drunken linguini and found it full of flavor. My husband had eggplant parmisan, his favorite, and said it was delicious. Tried this place again after a few years. First time was not good, but I wanted to try it again. Went in about 11:15. An older gentleman (assuming the owner) was sitting outside and followed me in. Reeked of cigarette smoke. He told me i could sit anywhere, so I did. The chair cover was covered in crumbs from the previous evening. I received a menu and another table of four sat down shortly after. My water arrived and I waited to order. Having a lunch menu, I assumed (my bad) there would be some sort of a combo or something. Nope. I ordered the $16 prosciutto panini. $5 extra for a side salad which I didn't want to commit to. After about 15-20 min the entree arrived. I was expecting this to be a wonderful sandwich full of meat and veggies. It had maybe two pieces of meat and about 6 slices of roasted red peppers. Pesto didn't taste like anything. Bread was so bad. For an Italian restaurant, you'd think it would be awesome. I was so disappointed. A family came inside to eat, which was family or friends of the owners. I was never waited on again. Water empty, no question of the food was good or not. No check either. I finally got up and went to the bar to pay. The original man had his shoe off and on the counter that he was messing with. I asked to pay and he rang it up. Never asked how things were or if he could get me anything else. So disappointed. I don't know why we can't have a good Italian place around here. Times are tough, but you'd think they would put more effort into it. read more

Second time enjoying the food here. The owners are the sweetest and very accommodating. After dinner we have enjoyed dessert and coffee. Its so relaxing here, that both times we have stayed past closing! The food is delicious and reasonably priced. It is my go to for a quite italian dinner wether alone or with good company. read more

Better half isn't a fan of Milano Cafe but she's out of town and this place is 2 minutes from the house. And how bad can you screw up spaghetti and meatballs? The food was horrible ! There is no manager and a 17year old is running it . The chef does not speak English and I ordered chicken piccata gave them all my allergies which included fresh lime, and orange and the waiter came back and said the chef said it had lime in it and I said since when it's lemon chicken, so they made my food without any lemon it tasted like it had no taste. It had a brown gravy. I took him three tries to get my salad right because I ordered a side Greek salad no tomatoes as I'm highly allergic to them and they brought me a house salad with no tomatoes then they re-ordered it and they said sorry it got made with tomatoes so the third time they were able to bring it but all their salad dressings have soybean oil in them. They were able to accommodate my dairy allergy and I was able to eat garlic bread and chicken parmigiana minutes the parmigiana. Everything was beyond fantastic and the sauce superb. The gentleman, owner, opened the door for us to come in and welcome us with a big smile. what enjoyed the beautiful pictures of Italy on the walls. Our server was not just a pretty face but she paid attention to us, refilled our teas and waters when they got below half a glass, and checked with us multiple times to see if we needed anything. Our food came so quickly, it was piping hot. The pasta was perfectly al dents. The shrimp popped when I bet into them, meaning they were cooked to perfection, not overcooked and tough. we will definitely be going back. read more

I had a good meal, but my colleagues meals were only ok. For basic dishes, like bruschetta or eggplant parmesan, you should be nailing it if your more elevated plates like the tortellini piemontosa are absolutely exquisite. I never expected to enjoy berries in a pasta dish, but they gave wonderful contrast. My partner enjoyed the drunken linguini, but the bruschetta appetizer was way too salty (I think it was the cheese, but still too salty for mozzarella). The garlic bread was ok, but it looked like something that could easily be made at home - just toasted parmigiano on bread, not really garlicky at all. Partner sampled some of the eggplant parmigiana and the chicken piccata, and was not impressed. Not horrible, but expectations were higher given the quality of mine and his dish. The interior was nice though. The seats were very cushiony and our server was very polite. Just a bit of a bummer on the food. read more

When I've previously dined in the restaurant, I thoroughly enjoyed their Eggplant Parmagiana entree, so I had great hopes for the sub. Unfortunately, the bread had that tough microwave-y texture so I assume they zapped it before they sent it out. Saying this place has poor service is an understatement. I walked in to an older gentleman (maybe the owner) who didn't bother to greet me or smile once for that matter. This gentleman had zero bedside manner and never bothered to check in on me once to see if my food came out alright or to get me a refill on my drink. The lunch "special" was $18 for a small bowl of pasta and what appeared to be a roll put through a panini press. Appetizers on the lunch menu were also priced close to $20. I'm also willing to wager that my "carbonara" didn't have the traditional egg and the sauce was mainly made of heavy cream. Not bad perse, but to call it carbonara is a bit deceptive. Sure, the pasta was al dente, and the sauce cream sauce was... well creamy, but those were its only redeeming qualities and, thus, why I give them a 2-star review. It's also important to note that I sat for more than 10 minutes without a drink and just waiting for my check. The gentleman, who I should also mention was the only staff member at the time, kept coming in and out and transporting supplies next-door, and that was his primary focus. Oddly enough, we remember him doing the same thing the first time we tried this place. The locale also requires you make an awkward u-turn onto southwest parkway, so save yourself the $25+ per person and try another pasta place in town. read more

We decided to try Milano's again, this time I went to lunch with my son. It was great!!! We both tried something different and we shared and both meals were delicious! I will go back again with my husband next time. I love Italian food and we've been trying to find a great spot to eat. Service was excellent. I love the quaint atmosphere also. We sat in the back room this time, very cool! Last time at dinner there was only one waitress and they got busy so I think that may have been part of the problem. read more

Small portions of pasta are given. The Alfredo sauce is good but nothing to really write home about. Ordered shrimp fettuccine but got chicken. The chicken was flavorless with a dry chicken texture like they either over cooked it or cut it right away and let all the juices drain. They gave you a piece of toast that was pressed in a panini press; it literally tasted like a sub sandwich's bread which makes me think that maybe the sandwiches might be alright here but the pasta was just entirely lack-luster. The restaurant itself kind of has a cool vibe with all its art and the hodge podge of chairs going on that make it seem kind of high end.
