Turkey raclette sandwich, Leaves & Stems cocktail
    Ashlyn B.

I am THRILLED to have another high quality restaurant and cocktail bar in Buda! The cocktails were created by a Michelin starred bartender and are truly the best in the area. The menu is diverse and unique, with tons of options for everyone. I went in for lunch on a Saturday and got the Leaves & Stems to drink, and the turkey raclette sandwich. My cocktail was extremely well balanced and beautifully presented. The sandwich was amazing - the house made bread really stood out. I can't wait to come back for dinner and try some of their plates. Buda desperately needed a place like this, and I hope to see it busier and busier the longer they're in business!

Delicious food and great service. Love that Buda has a new spot for cocktails, wine and tasty bites. The homemade pasta is so comforting and loved that our waitress offered tips on add-ons to make it a little more hearty. The pizza for me was the best and can't wait to try others, but we opted for the oyster mushroom pie with added sausage. So delicious. Paired well with their French Pinot Noir. Will definitely be back.

We came early on a Sunday and got a table right away, great atmosphere and friendly staff! The sandwich was good and the salted vanilla soft serve ice cream was to die for!!!

The cocktails totally blew me away! The leaves & stem and second side martini were both in my top 5 cocktails I've had all year! The bread, crudo and sandwiches we got were also very tasty. Love seeing more unique and delicious dining options coming to Buda! We are adding Astra to our monthly rotation and love the patio out front! Can't wait to get the pizza soon

Love the new tenant of this space in Buda Main. Small, intimate with a unique hole in the wall feel but better! Great spot to grab a drink or small bites! They really focus on the craft of the dishes. Sammies are great and so is the pizza. Great options for vegetarians as well. Limited parking in the back but plenty on the main street side.

The food here was really good! Waitress was nice and it was very clean and aesthetically pleasing inside. However, it was frustrating that they were out of both pepperoni and waffle cones. I had to get a different sandwich because they were out of pepperoni for the one I originally wanted. The Italian Olive was still delicious, and the homemade sourdough was great.

I have yet to eat there but I requested gluten-free menus so I wanted to post it on here for other people that might need it.

Delicious food and drinks! Came here around 4 on a Tuesday and looked like they were just starting up so service was a little slow and there was only one other table of people there. Outside is a cute patio and inside is upscale. Sat outside at the bar and tried some drinks and the redfish crudo. Highly recommend the crudo and the leaves and stems cocktail - both incredible and would come back just for those. The Paloma and margarita were also good, refreshing and not too sweet. Wanted to walk around main st for a little since I had never been and this was a good jumping off point. We ended up coming back to Astra for dinner after a little stroll and some shopping. The second time was probably about 2 hours later and we sat inside at the bar and the restaurant was packed and bustling now. By the time we left there were many people waiting for tables at the entrance. For dinner we got the vegetarian sandwich add turkey, the pepperoni fennel pizza and the broccoli. I also tried the second side martini and it was great but I enjoyed the leaves and stems and Paloma better. The vegetarian sandwich was somewhat of a let down. The bread was super hard to bite through making it hard to eat. The veggies in the sandwich were pickled onions, arugula, and something else pickled similar to the onions, so not heavy on the vegetables. Glad I added the turkey. The pizza was good. Did not enjoy their ranch though. The broccoli was also really good but priced a little steep for how much you get at $14. Overall, really liked the inventiveness of the drinks here and the food was good for the most part. Definitely want to come back and try other things on the menu!

Great ambiance. We didn't have a reservation so we sat at the bar. We were there early and Happy Hour is from 3-5 daily. Everything was good. They were out of the Denver steak which was surprising since it was 4pm on a Saturday.

We love a restaurant with intentionality! Delicious, thoughtful, ingredients that made up every dish and was SO tasty. I love that this place is smaller, it makes things feel intimate and intentional- just like the food! Servers were so kind, we cannot wait to go back!

    NOT!

Tried again, also on a Wednesday to find the place closed up at 4:30pm, despite signs out front and back saying "Happy Hour Daily 3-5". I really want to help local business but, heck, try being open or change the signs. Main Street Pizza hit the spot.

Food was fantastic! The outdoor area is super cute. We had the cornbread which was delicious, the butter that came with it was the best part. The turkey raclette sandwich & the oyster mushroom pizza were great.

Absolutely LOVE Astra, me and my Husband have come here a lot since they opened. He always gets the steak which is perfectly cooked and i always get the Mortadella and Pistachio Butter Sandwich with the Butternut dish. The Sandwich is sweet and savory and perfect on the sourdough bread that they make in-house. Their coffee is also outstanding and all the syrups are made in house which is wonderful. Highly recommend and as someone who has lived in Buda her whole life this is a place Buda very much needed

Below par for the Chicken fried steak w potatoes, green beans (flavorless) and I don't know but I expected the Ceviche salmon to be..more. Not entirely a bad experience. I'd be willing to try other items on their menu next time round.

Bright and sunny, wide open with lots of natural light, tasteful hanging planters, and minimalist decor, there's nowhere to hide. It's a place to see and be seen, but not nearly as pretentious as that sounds. They just care about the details and it shows, including the attentive service and well balanced drinks. Though I feel like I should crawl back into the dark, dank dive bars that I know best, it's a gorgeous breath of fresh air for those good hair days. Generous parking lot, easy off the highway, good evening hours. The only thing I'll knock it for is being so far south! This entire place feels like a cash grab following the mezcal trend. It's positioned as being a tequila/mezcal spot but their drinks are more basic than cocktails I can order at the airport. When I asked questions about the mezcal they use and offer the bartenders replies were always dealt with either annoyance and limited info or just an "I don't know." Plus it's $$$ you tip on top of the tip they already add but say nothing about? The basic cocktails that are known as Mexican street vendor drinks (not supposed to be $$$) can cost you over $20 alone! Then to be shady about tipping ... cash grab without a good experience. The there's the atmosphere... very limited parking shared with MANY other more busy bars, super loud inside because of no soft surfaces, and the worst part of all... the bench seats are built just tall enough that unless you're super tall, you'll have to sit at the edge of the bench and actively practice good posture. This more than the other things makes me want to leave immediately. You designed a bar to be pretty but in no way functional to its use. It's been a while since my last visit and honestly I chalked all this up to Austin's trend chasing entrepreneurs typical disconnected launch until I had AMAZING cocktails at another new spot that truly impressed with their same priced cocktails that were far far more intricate and creative PLUS they didn't try to con me out of more tip AND their space was warm, and inviting with truly exceptional customer service. That experience reminded me that inflation isn't the only thing making life more expensive ... it's also businesses delivering far less value than promised and demanding we are supremely grateful for their limited effort. If you don't want to leave the neighborhood but you still want a somewhat decent margarita .... it ain't here. Pay half the price at Bodhi's in the same parking lot.

The name of the restaurant should have been self explanatory: Ocean Blue OYSTER bar, but it was anything but. I didn't know how to navigate the menu-- there's Thai food, but also cajun food?? I opted for a little bit of everything: a pound of garlic butter crawfish, papaya salad, and their crawfish étouffée. But... even with a full spread of dishes, not a single thing was good. I love a good leftover, but it wasn't even worth salvaging. WHY: The crawfish had zero flavor. Making crawfish is an art, and the artist here is clearly a novice--you can tell it was rushed. The papaya salad should have been light and refreshing, but boy, the fish sauce overwhelmed every bite. Lastly the étouffée... was far from an actual etoufee. The roux was off, the texture was more like gumbo SOUP, and I barely found any crawfish in it.
