My family and I went to Dos Olivos Market for dinner. My husband made a reservation but we really didn't need it. We walked in, told the person at the front our name and were seated quickly. The restaurant is nice. It includes a little market in one section with various food items that you can purchase. There is also a seating area with couches near the market section. The restaurant has different sized tables for seating. Not long after being seated we were greeted by a waiter that did an excellent job taking care of us the entire time we were there. He took our drink order, gave us menus and some time to decide what we wanted. After a few minutes he brought us our waters and took our order. We ordered several items. El Olivo which is a garlic bread. It was okay. The bread was good. It was nice and warm and the garlic flavor was all on top. Whipped Feta which comes with grilled Naan and cucumber slices. The Naan was okay. It was a little cold and needed to be warmed up a little more for my liking but my kids ate it up. The cucumbers were fresh and crisp and the whipped feta was pretty good. It had a slight lemon flavor but not enough to where you could taste the lemon with every bite. Pork belly chicharron which had pork with avacado covered in a sauce. It came with tortilla chips. The tortilla chips were thick and crispy. Perfect for scooping up some of the pork belly. The pork belly was delicious. The sauce that covered it added flavor and the avacado was fresh. The Lamb chops came with Lamb, carrots and a puree. The lamb itself was excellent. It was cooked perfectly and was tender with each bite. The carrots were slightly sweet and the puree was soft. It was a good mix of different textures with each bite. The Truffle mac and cheese was a macaroni and cheese with chives and truffle flavor. This was very tasty. The macaroni was tender, the chives were spread out and added that slight onion flavor. The cheese was very flavorful. One of my kids ate almost all of this. Barbacoa Doughnuts which are mini doughnuts filled with barbacoa topped with a salsa. I don't really like barbacoa but I tried them and was pleasantly surprised. These were delicious. It was basically a soft and warm mini doughnut filled with flavorful barbacoa. The sauce on it added a slight spicy flavor. Patatas Bravas are potatoes with salsa and a garlic aioli sauce. These were very tasty. That salsa and aioli sauce are what gave this dish all of its yummy flavor. The potatoes had a crispy exterior with a soft interior. All of the ingredients mixed together made a very good side dish. One of my sons ordered the Dos Olivos Burger with Tater Tots. He said that the burger was okay. I tried it and I agreed. The tater tots were good. He ate those up with some ketchup. My other son ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwiches with everything on the side. He substituted a salad instead of the fries. He ate the salad up. He also ate the Fried chicken from the sandwich. He said it was good. He is not a fan of sesame seed bread so he opted not to eat the bun. I tried the red cabbage apple slaw that it comes with and it was okay. Lastly I ordered the Beet Salad which comes with beets, pears, and candied pecans. I don't usually eat beets but I wanted to try it. It was very good. The beet chunks were large and soft but not overly soft. The pears and the candied pecans added a crispier texture and the mixture of all of the ingredients along with the sauce that was on it made this a super sweet beet salad. Almost like a dessert. It was delicious. Overall the restaurant is a cool spot to visit. The market is a neat addition that adds to the ambiance of the restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was delicious.
This is a great little market, restaurant, and wine bar, located in the Buda Mill & Grain complex. The vibe is upscale yet comfortable, relaxing, and welcoming. The decor is a well put-together blend of farmhouse, industrial, and shabby chic. The market carries everything from olive oils to sauces, dips, jams, and more. I stopped in for a snack and had the whipped ricotta with grilled naan, and it was supremely delightful. Light and airy ricotta with the perfect seasoning and grilled properly naan. It really hit the spot. They have offerings from wine to cocktails, coffee, frozen drinks, mocktails, etc. I opted for the blueberry pomegranate frozen margarita (ten ounce) and it was so fragrant and flavorful. Paired great with my snack. My dog had the scrambled eggs and he gave them two paws up! FYI-frozen drinks come in ten and sixteen ounce options.
I came here with the intent of trying all the restaurants in downtown Buda. I was disappointed with my third trip to Taste so I wasn't hopeful but this place surprised me. We ordered truffle Mac and cheese, steak and fries, barbacoa donuts, beet salad, and chicken karaaage. I liked everything except the chicken karaage had a sauce and wasn't what I was expecting. The barbacoa donuts was probably my favorite because it was so unique and good. The beet salad was also fantastic. The service was great. I also loved the venue. I would definitely come back here. Also love that I'm 10 mins away.
We just went in to try the feta app omg what an amazing dish. They even had live violinist playing . Was a very nice atmosphere and calming . Enjoyed the feta with the pita bread.next time will try the food which also looks great .
Little slice of heaven in Buda, Texas!! Jacob, our waiter and Emma who helped were amazing. He recommended the Iberico Bolognese and it did not disappoint!! I paired it with the Llano Estacado Sweet blush and it was perfect! We celebrated our 3rd Wedding Anniversary this evening and it was absolutely wonderful! The space itself is small, intimate and quite enjoyable. Don't sleep on this and owners - please don't ever take the Bolognese off the menu!!!!! Will always come back to this wonderful gem!
This is a great hidden gem with a wide selection of wines and beers. Although, for this time around I ordered the margarita flight. They food is great. And the staff is there to help with ordering. The restaurant vibe is a mix of Mexican, mediterranean, American, and seafood, all mixed in.
Such a charming spot! I came here with my best friend for some wine and to try the olive oil cake--it did not disappoint. The cake was incredibly moist, lightly sweet, and had a lovely hint of citrus and vanilla. It practically melted in our mouths. I'm definitely coming back to explore more of the menu!
First visit to Buda was cute, with Dos Olivos bringing the ambiance. Great location neighboring some other venues with indoor/outdoor dining and a parking lot to accommodate dine-in or carry-out service from the market. An impressive selection of bubbly beverages with and without ABV. Sampled a lot of food, and while the menu is appetizing and everything looked pretty, it was mostly just good. Generally under-seasoned or a little off in some way, but trying hard. The whipped feta is fresh and topped with a very nice olive oil, but would be more impressive with house-made naan or focaccia. Garlic shrimp were generously sized and cooked perfectly, but lacking salt. Open to sharing more critical feedback directly on several dishes not worth mentioning. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful, definitely the highlight of our visit. Live music on Saturdays, and while the acoustic soloist was great, you maybe could hear him from Austin (and this is more of a date spot). Killed the otherwise good vibes. Looking forward to exploring more of Buda, but I'm not sure I'd revisit this one without some major tweaks.
4 years after my first visit, this place is still cranking out get food. While they have some staples that are constant, they have a continually rotating menu. Love that they also carry some gourmet items that HEB normally would carry, at least not a regular HEB. Recently I found that they have serrano ham that you are able to buy. This is the same serrano ham they use on their pan tomate dish. That dish is stupid and has been my go to every time I've been there. Love the variety of beverages they have: wine on tap, by the bottle, beer and non-alcoholic drinks. The space is just fantastic for an intimate get together while enjoying some pretty great eats.
Dos Olivos is one of those spots worth the drive from Austin to Buda. I appreciate their slightly changing menu with several consistent favorites that have remained on the menu each time I've visited. I can't eat here without ordering the barbacoa doughnuts - tender barbacoa with slightly spicy blue corn jalapeño doughnuts. The mushroom and truffle croquetas were very soft with a strong mushroom flavor. The grilled chicken thighs were delightfully crispy with tart green apple slices. The only item we didn't love was the broccolini, which came out cold and was a little too garlicky for our taste. The employees at Dos Olivos were all warm and welcoming, and the market itself is also cute, with some nice local food and kitchen products.
Two unforgettable things here are the Mac and cheese and the churros with chocolate dip. It's a restaurant that serves fusion of American/Spanish dishes. There's a store on the side with speciality items such as salsa dips, artisanal snacks, olive oil, and chips that are not usually found at regular grocery stores. Been here twice and each time always left satisfied with overall service and food.
Dos Olivos is most definitely my favorite mind of restaurant. Upscale, industrial interior, great fresh c food, and they even have a little section where you can buy some local foods. This place is also great for big groups.

We really enjoyed our brunch at Dos Olivos. It wasn't busy, maybe a couple tables, which worked in our favor because we made a reservation for a large party of 9. Service was attentive and we were seated quickly. For apps we ordered the barbacoa donuts and the whipped feta, which was enjoyed by all. For entrees we got a little bit of everything. My dish was the breakfast plate with pork belly, eggs, and tots with a pomegranate salsa that was very good. Wouldn't hesitate to go back and try their dinner! read more

The minute I walked in, I liked this place. The developer in old Buda (don't dare pronounce it like the spiritual leader) has made something obsolete into a really neat venue. The restaurant is also a source of upscale vinegars, olive oils, and preserves. When I saw "Barbacoa Donuts" on the menu I went blind to anything else. If you like barbacoa, this is a must. It's slightly sweet, but the tiny donuts are made from whole wheat or some other dark flour. Congratulations to the chef for this adaptation of a classic Mexican dish! And I should mention that the waitstaff is a cut above. For an appetizer we had the whipped feta, which turned me from a feta hater to a lover. My wife had a fried salmon sandwich. She said it was meh, but I enjoyed finishing it. read more

Dos Olivos in Buda, Texas has all the right intentions. It's a small-town specialty store, that's stocked with wine, beers & gourmet food all in one. Needless to say, I was excited to try it. But after my first dining experience, I left feeling pretty underwhelmed. Looking at the seasonal menu, they try to zhush up traditional items (ie: truffle Mac & Cheese, Caesar Street Corn, Barbacoa Donuts). I ordered the most basic items: Kofta Tacos (tacos with lamb meatballs served with tzatziki sauce) and a Caesar salad. As soon as I took a bite of the taco, the meatballs fell immediately out. Though tasty, it was more appropriate for a snack, and wasn't very filling or well exexcuted. For the Caesar salad, they didn't list an option to add protein on the menu, but I asked for chicken anyway. I wouldn't recommend it. They used pieces of teriyaki-styled chicken thighs that were way too salty and clashed with the rest of the salad. I ended up leaving the chicken behind. I was excited about this spot and may give it another shot. But currently, it's missing the mark. read more
Food - 4.5 stars. Love the barbacoa donuts, pan con tomate and the chicken Karaage! I have had entrees as well but these are my go to! Wine selection could be better in my humble opinion. Service - 4 stars. Good but not consistent but has gotten way better over time Ambiance- 4 stars. Cute place and enjoy the little market selection of local products! read more

This is a Buda gem! One Saturday, some friends came to visit me at the new place and we planned to explore downtown Buda. We walked on Main Street and stopped at every bar we could find but we knew we were going to eat here. I love the market/restaurant vibe... super chill yet classy. Staff were friendly and very personable. And the food.... Oh man, the food was amazing!! So amazing I went again just 4 days later when my sister and her husband came to visit from Chicago. Every single plate had so much flavor, so hearty, and unique! I recommend this place 1000%! read more

What a wonderful treat this place is!! We stopped for the oh so amazing and always impressive Assemblage Art gallery in the same complex (GO THERE STAT), and wandered over here for a quick bite and cold drink. This little place was incredible. We ordered the roasted butternut squash and chicken "pinchitos" - so so DELICIOUS! I seriously would drive all the way to Buda just for this place! Amazingly different and wonderful food. The atmosphere offers a relaxing hip vibe and fun place to chill. read more

Hi Jennifer! We're so glad you enjoyed everything and hope to see you…
We ate here for an early dinner earlier today & loved it! The restaurant was very clean & very well organized, with a solid atmosphere. Our servers (there were several working the bar) did a great job as well. As for the food, the chicken appetizer was solid. The salmon was also 5/5. We also got the strip steak, which unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of. They accidentally cooked it medium well instead of medium rare like we ordered it, but Eric (guy working the bar) caught the mistake, and ended up giving us both a medium well & medium rare steak at the price of just one steak. Just overall excellent customer service on their part. We will definitely be back at some point to try their burger as well. read more

Based upon food this place is definitely 5 stars! The staffing is where it suffered on my visit. They had one poor girl trying to ring people up, take orders, deliver food to the tables, and act as bartender. She deserves a round of applause for her hard work but management really need to staff up. We ordered the squid ink carbonara and the chicken sandwich with olive bread. The bread was out immediately. My beer and wine took some time. We also did not have water delivered for quite a while. Our meals came out at different times. This was inconvenient as I waited for both to come out. My squid ink carbonara was outstanding as was the chicken sandwich. This place is small so I understand they do not want to over staff but with a few more employees it would by a 5 plus star place. I would recommend them and will be back read more

We did a day trip to Buda and Kyle today. I found @losolivosmarket_buda when searching for a restaurant with outdoor seating. It turns out that midday the sun is beating down there so we ended up @natesbuda patio. We ordered Barbacoa Doughnuts (the best dish), Foie Gras Tartine, Squid Ink Carbonara, Grilled Chicken Thigh and Seared Butternut Squash. The food was unique and pretty good. We ordered drinks from @natesbuda. I had the Queen of Hearts, my husband had the draft Eastcider and my Dad had Lemonade. The patio was perfectly shaded under the trees and there were fans and misters. After lunch, we shopped @losolivosmarket_buda for jams and sauces. read more

I have been coming here for several years now. It's gone through some management and name changes but the core of everything is still wonderful. The service is excellent and they have recently restructured the menu. They did leave one of my favorites which is the barbacoa donuts and I'm very grateful for that. The salsa on that dish is delicious. The newest item that I'm obsessed with is the whipped feta. I could have that just with a glass of wine and be a happy camper. The key here is serving it with warm pita. It's a small detail but it makes a big difference, which they do. They also changed from counter service to table service if that is something that interests you. It doesn't matter to me either way because I always had a great experience with both. Lots of natural light. Really great ambiance and a very robust wine selection as well as beer and wine fights. This is a must-see if you're in town and want something a little bit different on main Street. read more

While in Buda to check out some golf carts, my wife and I tried this place out after she read about them online. We initially wanted to check out the Wimberley location but since we were in Buda, we decided to swing by this location for lunch. Set in a quaint country farm location with similar looking buildings and shops/businesses built around a majestic live oak tree, we loved the ambience...although the nearby train tracks can be quite noisy from the outside (insulation inside was adequate so it didn't seem noisy). When we perused the menu, we noticed they only had 3 choices for personal-sized entrees while their family style offerings didn't come with sides. My wife ordered the Short Rib/Brisket Burger which came with fries and I had the Ink Squid Carbonara with Pork Belly. My wife liked her burger...commenting they were tender and juicy like how I make my burgers at home. Although she didn't like how messy it got. My pasta dish was good. I liked the salty pork belly cubes but wished there were more pieces. I also dig the grated cured egg yolk. I typically make my carbonara with pancetta or bacon with eggs and cheese so I can appreciate their take on a classic dish. All in all, a pretty good lunch with good ambience. Service was friendly and attentive. Wish they had more options for the personal-sized dishes though. Lunch for 2 came out to just under $40 with tip. read more
This place really has great quality food. You can tell the chef knows his flavors and his techniques. I was impressed by the chicken karaagge with sweet chili and aioli which was simply awesome. Then I was stunned that simple mushroom sides could be so delicious and my squid ink carbonara pasta with pork belly and peas was perfect. Finally, my wife ordered a smoked camp fire dessert which was astonishingly good we didn't try the alcohol but the French press coffee was high quality with a delicate smooth flavor. It is such a pleasure to find a great establishment like that in Buda read more
There is something special about enjoying a meal in an establishment that focuses on selling wine and food products. Picture yourself being not being surrounded by the hustle and bustle of a busy restaurant but quiet bottles of wine enticing you to pick it up and inspect the label. Or being able to leave your phone on a table without fear of it being taken and browsing numerous other products ranging from assorted nuts, sauces to tasty cookies and the sort. Los Olivos Market is a cozy and warm place to enjoy your time slowly with great beer or better wines. Driving up, it's almost nostalgic as it's on "main street" with is less than a quarter mile and on railroad tracks. Walking under a huge oak tree that shades a deck area which leads into this gem of a find. You can see a lot of food products through the window which builds the anticipation before you even enter. Once you enter the nostrils filled with wonderful aromas such as wine and food and the rest of the senses are overloaded as well. First grab yourself a menu and laminate over the many options that are all tasty. Order at the counter than grab one of the intimate seats and wait for your order. It was 1pm and very hot outside so I was opting for a lighter fair. The charcuterie & cheese plate was phenomenal. Perfectly cured hard and soft salamis, three awesome cheeses, an awesome chili sauce, almonds, sweet peppers, etc. I had to restrain myself as my date was running late, however it was darn good and fresh. She ordered the Truffle Mac & Cheese which was cooked to perfection but very light on truffles, in that I think they just used oil, not fresh fungus! I ordered the chicken karaage and man was it good. Fried to perfection and not overdone with a sweet chili sauce great locally made pickles and "a funky aioli" which was slightly bland so the funky was on a low setting. I rather enjoyed the music as it plays a little of everything to set a most enjoyable mood at a moderate volume. The servers are really nice and well versed in their product. This was a simple delight to find scratches many of the itches I have. Wonderful wine, great food, not a lot of people, and a quaint setting provides an unparalleled dining experience. I challenge you to come in and not fall in love. read more
