Our book club has a couple drinks many early Friday evenings at a local pub and we decided to try the Brass Monkey last week. Nice lively but comfortable atmosphere where we could hear other. I liked the interesting selection of standard and unusual beers and we decided to also order some food and were very pleased with the high quality. My Cubano sandwich was delicious, the best Cubano I've ever had, and it was accompanied by delicious sweet potato fries. The waitress was excellent- while we were prepared to split up a single complicated bill, she offered to provide separate bills to the singles and couples! Something waitstaff generally hate to do and rarely actually offer. Highly recommended!! read more

A small group of us went out for a celebratory drink and landed on the Brass Monkey since it was so close. It just do happen to be wing night and wings were .35 cents each! It was quite busy. They seem to have a different theme or deal each night of the week. Wine it down a Wednesday with half priced wine seems like a good day to go if you ask me. We have been here twice now. This place is stellar! Creative cocktail menu, GREAT beer selection (tap & bottle) and an amazing take on typical bar food. Go for the pulled pork anything. Great twist on the standard Cuban sandwich. Terrific wings and specials. Our server Gretchen was top notch! We had gone for lunch the first time and she was our server. She treated us like old friends from the moment we were seated. Screw this place. The service is non existent and the food is terrible. Waitress took forever to take our order (had to come back multiple times to retake our order). Food was terrible. Bad enough having to muscle through a lack luster meal but then took 50 minutes after we finished to get the check. Had to chase the waitress down to pay also. Clean, has great parking, friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere. They have. Great variety of beers on tap. The bar is long with cool decorations as well as huge big screen TVs for sports. In addition, there's an outside patio and events room for bookings of bigger parties. I always pass Brass Monkey on the way to my boyfriend's house and it seems to always be full. Nice bar to get late drinks and apps, much nicer and better atmosphere than the typical Applebee's or other chains. I've always had a pleasant experience with the wait staff here and my service has always been excellent. I would recommend the nachos (they are HUGE so share!) and the flavored margaritas. Been wanting to give this place a try. Food looked delicious and reviews were great. We went for lunch on a weekday. We have been looking on yelp for pictures of the food so we can get an idea of what to order. Thank god for the reviews because they didn't have much on the menu, but as soon as I asked her for a specific dish that was posted on yelp, the waiter knew exactly what it was. We ordered the Cuban sandwich, the surf and turf, buffalo wings and garlic parmesan wings. The Cuban was on point! Delicious and very flavorful. The surf and turf is a lobster mac and cheese with steak bites. Tastes just like it looked in the picture. Amazinggg! They were not cheap with the lobster either. Although it was a bite pricey at $25. But it was a good portion. As for the wings I liked them both but the garlic parmesan wings needed a little more flavor. Overall, great experience. read more

Met up for lunch with a friend who had come back from college. The Brass Monkey is your typical bar. Music is blasting so loud you have to shout to be heard. They have a very large selection of beers and their mixed drinks are made very well. I had the chicken sandwich which was cooked perfectly. The beer battered chicken was crispy, although the fries that came with the dish were a little cold. My friend got the garlic parm wings and seemed to enjoy them. Service was ok. My second time here and I must say I'm disappointed. I came for lunch so it was about 1:30/2p on a Saturday, the waitress told us to seat ourselves. She then took 10 mins to come over and take our drink order, another 10 minutes to bring back our drinks and then 10 mins to take our order. That in itself was a half hour wait. The food came out relatively quick, the food was delicious. I've had their wings, shrimp po' boy, and today I had the Cam Daddy burger (mardigras special) & my spouse had the brass burger. The food here is phenomenal- they advertised crawfish for lunch on their IG unfortunately it was not ready and would not be ready until dinner. This disappointed me because they promoted this special for lunch but aside from this the service was terrible. It started getting busier and there were only two waitresses for a bar full of seated guests and about 10 tables that needed to be waited on. Decent place with decent food and a decent beer selection. Decent. First time we went we split the fried pickles. While the remoulade for dipping had some spice and taste to it...the breading for the pickles themselves was way too oversalted. To the point I only had a couple, and I love me some fried pickles. Second time I got the buffalo chicken sandwich. The meat was good, it was cooked well, but I've had better buffalo sauces before, and it was annoying that I had to ask for some blue cheese dressing to put on, as it only came with a small amount of blue cheese crumble on top. My wife got a burger which was a bit underdone, and the egg on top had already split so she was served a plate with a runny egg yolk base...but overall she said it tasted good. On a positive note, they have a pretty decent beer selection, both bottle and draft, so if you want more variety than Just Cheer down the street this is your place. My family and I love Brass Monkey! They have a great $0.35 wing special every Thursday, and my family members and I are faithful attendees. The food is always fresh, plentiful, and reasonably priced. Our only gripe is with the new waitresses. When we first started coming, we consistently had two: Gretchen and Stephanie. Those two ladies are phenomenal! They were so friendly and attentive with their serving that even though they tend bar most of the time now, my family and I always go over to see how they're doing and catch up with them a little. The newer waitresses bring you food, but that's about it. Some of them don't smile, and we've even had a waitress who never told us her name. We'll continue to return because of the great food and prices, but we would love for the waitresses to check up on us more often when we're there, and to be a little more friendly! read more

Went here for one of the paint and wine nights, but decided to come early and check the place out before hand for some apps and a couple drinks. My friend tried the Thai chicken wraps, I had the mozzarella balls, and my other friend had the mini pork sliders, we all kind of shared off each other. We also ordered a couple signature drinks I had some kind of punch all I know it was blue and way too sweet it took me forever to drink it, would have sent it back but the service was really slow. The mozzarella bites were flavorless it had just Panko on the outside that really needed to be seasoned and the marinara sauce was bland. The pulled pork sliders had minimal filling and the lettuce wraps came with only two. Maybe it was an off night because it was a paint night? Best thing here? The nachos. Both buffalo and BBQ chicken are great choices! That really should be everything I need to say. I work nearby so it's a nice convenient place to eat for lunch. I usually get "to go" but always manage to find myself ordering at the restaurant instead of calling in. Lunch time is a busy time so it's probably a good idea to call beforehand. Yikes, I'll start off by saying that we went on a game night so it was very busy, so this restaurant may just have better service when it's a little bit quieter. Every one that we spoke to was incredibly nice, the restaurant was just as we expected inside, our first drinks were great, we both got cocktails from the special list which included a fruit punch and a sangria. Our nachos were a gift from the gods, they were so delicious, but for some reason everything we were served after that seemed like it came from a different restaurant. A medium rare burger came medium well with burnt edges, otherwise it was fine, I didn't taste it; the sweet potato fries were crispy and hot and so yummy. I ordered a veggie pizza and couldn't even finish one slice. Pizza was underdone and the feta honestly did not smell fresh. I will say that we were too timid to complain and rock the boat since it was busy, so that's on us; we didn't give them a chance to fix that. Lastly we both ordered margaritas and we both took a sip and separately made VERY sour faces...it was mostly mixer and lime and little tequila, this we asked to be fixed and our server was very sweet and understanding and took them back to probably just have tequila added. We left it at that and just paid and left, when a $78 bill came I winced. Probably won't return for full meals, it's just not worth the pricing for that level of quality; apps and vetted cocktails and beers going forward, probably. I'm rather disappointed about my experience here at Brass Monkey. The service was ok but the food was cold. Why was the food cold? I really don't understand. I would prefer for the food to be destroyed by a heat lamp than be cold. Everything about the restaurant seems like it should be fun and delicious. The beer list is decent and they do $3 drafts some nights. I enjoyed the beers I had the the $2 tacos tasted like $2 tacos. Not enough for me to come back. It's a great effort, great appearance, but disappointing food wise. Which is the best part of going out. read more

On our way from Warwick to East Bay via scenic route and decided to give this place a try - used to be Cactus Grille. Nothing fancy but food was very good and prices were right. My sister's bf comes here regularly, as this is the home bar for the New England Revolution. I LOVE PHO more than any food out there, and when I heard Brass Monkey RI once had a Pho pizza special, we had to come. Although the pizza was not a special or on the menu when we came, the owner went out of his way to make it special for us around 10pm....and he didn't have hoisin sauce, aka he made HOMEMADE HOISIN. Grade A service at its finest. The Pho Pizza is incredible - I live in NYC and that was the best pizza I've ever had. He then came out with Pho wings after he brought the pizza out.....WHOA. He used the remaining homemade hoisin for the wings...unreal. 10000% a top notch quality service "bar" aka PHONOMENAL restaurant. We went in for lunch so it was kind of slow at the time but they had sings up with different them nights like Wing night and stuff. Well, I just don't know...yet. I guess I'll come back and try again. I could have picked an "off" time of day (3pm on a Sunday). My wife's hamburger was quite dry and a bit over-cooked. (she had requested medium rare and got medium to 'well' if anything). Other than that it was fine, though. I ordered the calamari, which had a lot RIGHT going on: the flavors were spot on; sweet & hot peppers, tasty balsamic reduction, and my favorite- both rings & 'tentacles'-yum! But...the calamaris were all way over-cooked. To the point of being tough and chewy! All i could think was, man, if this was cooked right it would be delicious. Someone had a fantastic recipe...then they either overcooked, or REcooked the squid. I was going to mention it my server. He seemed like a good bloke, but i just knew that all that day's squid were precooked. And sadly, for that dish, it was what it was, ya know? Beer menu was "so-so". Prices were decent. Came here after riding the bike trail for the Pats game on a Sunday in September. I would have never found the place if it wasn't for yelp because it's not downtown and a little out of the way but I'm glad we did. The place had a great feel with lots of football fans. The service is a little slow but the atmosphere and food made up for it. We had fried pickles that were really good and some sandwiches that were good with some nice bread. Good beer selection. The food here was amazing Just remember one thing they have special everyday. Also if you want beer or wine, they have tons of options to choice from The restaurant is very small but it is cozy. When we got there, we had to wait a little bit while their cleared off our table.
