Don't say you weren't warned. Scroll down and look at the other reviews. In some cases, you can expect an increase of 75-100%.Yes, after your 4th month. They have onsite parking, which is great. The manager told me that if I was ever in the area that I could park there and run my errands. Great perk, right? Not so much when you get back to your car and they called and had it towed. $135 to get it back. The tow company confirmed that it was indeed an employee of Extra Space Storage who called and had the car towed. Thanks! There are a lot of other storage options in the area. Do yourself a favor and explore them and rent any of them.

This place is a circus…read more I waited in a dirty, empty reception area for 20 minutes before "Store Manager" Selam Giday walked through the front door carrying a plate of take out food, wearing yoga pants, no uniform or name tag, and angrily began to 'assist' me from behind the desk. Perhaps I interrupted her break? She seemed really irritated by the one question I asked in response to her asking me if I had any questions, rolling her eyes and mumbling under her breath openly throughout our entire interaction. In the middle of the process of me renting a storage space, she literally ran out of the store to yell at someone that she thought was about to park nearby. I thought about ducking out right then but honestly I was afraid she'd chase me down yelling too. Predictably, when the charges hit my card 2 days later it was a different price than I was quoted by Selam. I returned to the store with my contract and the paperwork printed and signed in that very location showing the discrepancy, only to be told by a large bearded kid behind the desk that he "was only a part-time employee" and that he "couldn't help me." Wild!

Free use of the truck is likely not a genuine offer. I went there on three different occasions in the last couple of weeks, as a new customer seeking to use their van for 90 minutes to move two large items, and each time visited on a weekday when I knew the trucks were unlikely to be in use. Each and every time the front desk put me off for a different reason--i.e., you have your driver license but you don't have the $100 "cash deposit" that's required, or you don't have the "account number" that was issued via email (despite my having government issued ID plus the key to the unit and their having computers at the desk), or it's "too late in the day" at 3 pm to use a van for 90 minutes. I went there again today, very hopeful that I had met every hurdle, and this time they told me there was a charge of $39.95 to use the van for the brief period I needed, plus gas (and whatever incidentals they may impose on top of that). The reason given this time was that 4 days had elapsed beyond my initial 30-day move-in period. I pointed out that I had visited on three different occasions in my initial move-in period, and noted that the deadline and all of these other hurdles to use of the van should have been disclosed upfront, as the deadline hadn't been disclosed earlier and seemed like a trap for the unwary. The man at the Shirlington desk blamed his colleague for being "new" and not knowing to tell me all the van requirements up front. He rarely looked me in the eye from his seated position at the desk, and, knowing that he almost certainly was the one who had trained his "new" colleague, I advised him that I'd rent a van from U-haul instead. He protested that Cubesmart offered a better deal on truck rentals. Floored by this response (after viewing the enormous ads posted everywhere around the facdility that promise use of a free truck), I told him that I'd be moving all of my items out of the Shirlington unit at the end of the month. Unfazed, he advised me that I'd better have moved everything out by my announced move-out date. Shirlington customer service reps need much better training, or CubeSmart needs to change its corporate policies.

It had been a very long time since I last moved and the last company was all booked up on the date…read moreI was looking for assistance. So after receiving a few quotes from a handful of businesses, I went with Potomac Moving due to the speed of their response, clarity in communication, pricing and overall warmth and professionalism. In our first phone call to walk though my needs, they were very assuring and accommodating, which is a such a relief in the midst of stress and coordination that comes with planning for a move. They were also always very responsive in the few times that I reached out between the time I paid the deposit and the actual move. A night or two before, I sent at email regarding wardrobe boxes, since I was debating whether or not I should buy and have a few delivered to me. The owner responded quickly, assuring me that wardrobe boxes were tried, true and if I wanted to buy any directly from them that I could. That ended up being a great call, because they were able to properly enforce the boxes so that even the boxes filled with my heaviest coats remained in tact. On the day of the move, the movers were communicative regarding their arrival time. They were also very nice and hard working. I had a few large furniture items that needed to be disassembled and they ended up being quite beasts to tackle. But they worked diligently to break them down. Once it came time to move things to my new place, that was a breeze. One gesture that I thought was just so classy, was the owner called in the middle of the move to check-in on how things were going - I really appreciated that. Overall, would definitely recommend PMC - they're easy to work with, fair and transparent about pricing and you're sure to be met with professionalism!

I usually refrain from writing negative comments unless it's really bad, but I think certain…read moreelements are worth highlighting . Draw your own conclusion. 1. First, with a positive, the follow up and customer service is great. It has to be, due to the following comments listed. 2. Moved a 1 bedroom apt( bedframe , mattress, dresser , 2 TVs , and a sofa), and it took 5 hours , with a locked elevator , in the same building, separated by 2 floors.Everything additional was boxed or bagged. No loose items. 3. They attempted to change the charges the day of the move , even though we had confirmed less than 24 hours prior. Claimed the 3rd person Was due to their double booking, snow , etc . And the additional man would speed up the process . Did i mention this simple 1 bedroom move took 5 hours for an in building, one bedroom transfer? Does that seem expedited ? Everything was a group effort, and teaching moment. this slowed the move down. For example, it Took 20 minutes of discussion to figure out how to disassemble a bed frame efficiently . Constantly going back and forth to the moving truck on the clock ( for what idk ) . If not watched , disappearing for 15-20 minutes at a time . 4. I was advised that I could leave my dresser items in the drawers, and they could move them efficiently. I now have to find someone to take my dresser apart, due to items some how making their way to inside unreachable areas insiders dresser. 5. I have to find someone to reassemble my sofa. They didn't put it back together. 6. You're charged 30 minutes to and from . So, you owe an hour before they start . They didn't have to leave the property, but charged me fuel . How do you charge someone fuel, and time for arrival, and departure ? Seems like the rate is only labor . You're also charged for any items used to rap to transport furniture . The intimation that they try to give you when you book is that is inclusionary. 7. With a discount, A DISCOUNT, this move cost me $1,000. Between the random 3rd man up charge , wrapping items for the large furniture , fuel charge , insurance that they make you cover that they don't disclose until the last minute that is almost $200 additional ... 8. Moved my items into the hallway, and left them there unattended while moving. 9. Even if you pay by phone, they want you to write your credit card information on a random piece of paper. It's a hard NO, for me. Yes, I signed, and let them go about their business. It's exhausting to keep debating obvious discrepancies, and hidden fees during a move which is a top 3 stressor in general. Just .... Don't . Use someone else .

All My Sons Moving - Virginia North…read more This moving company needs to be investigated for fraud or deceptive business practices. I booked my move a week in advance and paid a $100 deposit after being told it would guarantee my moving date and secure my spot. Then, only 3 days before my scheduled move, the manager -- I believe his name was David -- called to tell me they were fully booked for the entire week and that my move would either need to be rescheduled or canceled altogether. I made it very clear from the beginning that my apartment lease ends on the 31st and that I needed to move before then. Had this company been honest about the fact that paying a deposit did not actually guarantee service, I would have hired another moving company much earlier. Now I'm left scrambling at the last minute, despite having everything planned out. I also have to report to work in another state on the 1st, so this has created a major inconvenience and unnecessary stress. To make matters worse, speaking with them on the phone was a complete disaster. The communication was unprofessional, disorganized, and unacceptable. They agreed to refund the $100 deposit, but that does not make up for the inconvenience, stress, and potential consequences this situation may cause me. If I receive penalties from my landlord for a late move-out or face any employment-related consequences because of this company's failure to honor their commitment, I will absolutely be exploring all possible legal and consumer protection options.
