Has a memory like you wouldn't believe regarding locations of moving from and to .. assembling difficult entertainment centers etc.! He really managed the crew and identified early that we needed additional help and another truck. He was able to get his brother to help and acquire another large truck so that we were able to stay on schedule. The entire move was incredible. The movers wrapped everything incredibly well including many large paintings etc. they didn't damage the house we left or the house we moved to or even 1 piece of our furniture! It was very hard to believe actually with the volume and size/weight of many of the items. They were prompt with both moves and showed up at 8am both mornings even after getting to sleep at 3am the night in between moves. Can't thank them enough! Extremely impressed and highly recommend!! We had a dedicated elevator, yet workers often brought items down only one or two at a time. I also saw team members on their phones or standing around in rooms and hallways instead of actively moving things. These delays added up quickly. The crew also misplaced parts of our bed frame, and the pieces had to be found before it could be reassembled. That alone added nearly an hour to the move. Because the move took much longer than expected, the final cost was significantly higher than the estimate we received. We were also charged based on an arrival time that was recorded as ten minutes earlier than when the crew actually arrived. The team was courteous, but given the inefficiency, added time, and higher final price, we would not use Bookstore Movers again. This is unfortunate, because we had been happy with them in previous moves.

So after receiving a few quotes from a handful of businesses, I went with Potomac Moving due to the speed of their response, clarity in communication, pricing and overall warmth and professionalism. In our first phone call to walk though my needs, they were very assuring and accommodating, which is a such a relief in the midst of stress and coordination that comes with planning for a move. They were also always very responsive in the few times that I reached out between the time I paid the deposit and the actual move. A night or two before, I sent at email regarding wardrobe boxes, since I was debating whether or not I should buy and have a few delivered to me. The owner responded quickly, assuring me that wardrobe boxes were tried, true and if I wanted to buy any directly from them that I could. That ended up being a great call, because they were able to properly enforce the boxes so that even the boxes filled with my heaviest coats remained in tact. On the day of the move, the movers were communicative regarding their arrival time. They were also very nice and hard working. I had a few large furniture items that needed to be disassembled and they ended up being quite beasts to tackle. But they worked diligently to break them down. Once it came time to move things to my new place, that was a breeze. One gesture that I thought was just so classy, was the owner called in the middle of the move to check-in on how things were going - I really appreciated that. Overall, would definitely recommend PMC - they're easy to work with, fair and transparent about pricing and you're sure to be met with professionalism!

Somehow, my friends, who are not professional movers, didn't need to do this. But the professional movers did? And didn't put it back? - were not former Marines or US military. And this one might be the biggest deal to me. Don't advertise that you nearly exclusively hire former military and veterans, then send me an entire team of none. As the daughter of a Marine, I I consider this to be on the level of stolen valor; you're exploiting the veteran status when all you did was hire people off the street. - the management and customer service team won't return my emails or phone calls. Today I'll be calling the Spotsylvania County Better Business Bureau as well as the Fairfax County Better Business Bureau to figure out log a complaint. If you can't complete the business transaction, you shouldn't be allowed to do business.

They snapped a piano leg on the first move and ruined a 2nd on the subsequent move. The piano's finish is also ruined in five or six additional places, requiring a total refinishing. They also broke a mirror and one of two adjustable dumbbells. If you hire them, get the full-on insurance for total replacement value. You are going to need it.
