First time having a hot pot. It was really cool the way it's brought out and is lit to keep it hot. This place is kinda small and super busy but the wait at lunch time was actually very quick . I really enjoyed this place service was great, food was quick , staff was all super nice have great service . Would defiantly come back here I also loved the milk tea ! read more

This has become our favorite spot. There are 2 locations we have tried, 1 in Garden Grove and 1 in Cerritos. This is the best of the two. Different chefs make it their own way. The broth here is just tasty and good, we choose #4 Beef and it is enough for both my daughter, age 11 and I to share as we are small eaters. We ordered to go the Milk Curry #6 which definitely taste like curry. The service here hired sweet and kind employees who check in on you. However, this place on weekdays gets busy by noontime. And weekends, it is already busy by 11:30am. Therefore, it's always a wait. To us though, it is worth it. To go orders take 15 minutes, if you don't care to wait and want to just eat at home. Make sure you take your free tea. Lunch special here is worth it and the only time we ever go. We live in HB but dislike the taste of Boiling Point near us and the service is just horrible. We have to give a shout out to our waitress today, she was so pleasant, "on top of it", made us feel so relaxed, welcomed and truly served us! Look for "Mika" because she is an added gem to the foods you eat to make your dining experience enjoyable. We would go back just to say, "Hi Mika" because she was awesome. As someone who has worked food service for 5+ years: hosting, serving, even managerial, I don't care if I'm the one receiving poor hospitality.. im understanding about it, but really? My mom? I'm more of a shabu girly since I like to control how long my proteins are cooked, so I normally go to Boiling Point to grab my usual Hokkaido Milk Tea half sweet with boba. But if ever I do eat with some friends, I go for the beef pot or share the miso pot with my husband (but with beef instead of pork). I also like to order my pots with quail eggs and more glass noodles on the side. Service is always usually fast and efficient. I've never had any issues. I've gotten served by Joseph a few times, and he's always been personable and friendly. I never had to ask for a water or broth refill since he was always on top of it. The ambiance is pretty loud and busy. There's always a wait here, so be sure to join the waitlist. read more

Visited with a group of friends. One of us had been before. She showed us the ropes of ordering. Other diners, mostly 20somethings, and excellent waite staff also added guidance to our first Hot Pot experience. Food was warm & comforting. Restaurant was clean and efficient. By 12noon on a week day a queue of people had formed outside waiting to be seated. A popular place. Funny: they only serve iced green or black tea. A friend who wanted hot tea had to settle for a cup of hot water. Will definitely visit again with friends and family. read more

Wish I could give more stars cause the food is good, but the service is terrible. My husband raised his hand to try to get a server's attention, they gave him eye contact and walked away. Service here has never been good in my experience and it just gets worse every time. read more

The food is always good, though I wish they would bring back the Japanese miso. My biggest complaint is that they often run out of soups. I've came here 4 times in the past 6 months and half of those visits they didn't have the soups I wanted. We decided to dine somewhere else instead. Service can be hit or miss. Sometimes they are really attentive; and at other times it can take a while to flag them down. read more

I've been coming here consistently since high school, so around 4-5 years now, and I've always enjoyed my experience. I love their special dipping sauces so much! It really elevates the hotpot when you dip the veggies and noodles in the sauce. I haven't had hot pot dipping sauce better than the one at Boiling Point. It's the perfect combo of sweet garlic and savory spicy. The soup broth is always so flavorful and perfectly spicy. You get a free side of rice or noodles. I usually get the lamb very spicy or mushroom veggie pot and they literally NEVER disappoint. I finish my pot down to every last drop of soup... I love all the different options of pre-made pots you can get, so you never get bored of coming here often. I love the fresh seafood and wide variety of veggies they add into their pots. I introduced this place to my family and they always crave it too. I will say their hot pot to-go is not as good.. so I wouldn't recommend that. I love coming for lunch because you get a free green tea or black tea and it actually tastes so good! They always give out yummy jelly treats/ chia seed dessert shots at the end. read more

Food is great but get a one star for service. Not giving one star for one time, everytime i come here the service is HORRIBLE. Tell me why theres 5 clean tables but they make us wait 30mins. After they sit us, we say we are ready to order and the server says one min and leaves. Goes to 2 other tables that comes in after us and takes their order. I have to kinda yell "excuse me we are ready". After many trips here and seeing how bad the service is, got fed up and gave a one star. read more

Pretty mediocre hot pot spot BUT the lunch prices are pretty good! Came here on a Monday for lunch and waited about 50 minutes to get called (pretty normal for Boiling Point). I got the beef hot pot (medium spicy). Comes with beef, cabbage/corn, glass noodles, and rice on the side. Tastes pretty average. It also comes with your choice of iced black tea or iced green tea. The glass noodles melt incredibly quickly. Also watched the bowl burn at the table across from me oop. Service is slow (though it seems the workers are working hard!- they may just be understaffed). The lunch price is about $14. Pretty good. read more

I wish I could give zero stars because there are SOOOO many tables open, SEVEN workers and 23 people waiting outside. Despite that, the workers leave open tables because they don't want to become busy. We waited two hours. When they told us we were next, it took 32 minutes to get us set up on ONE table. Even as the next party. Very disappointed as I love boiling point but will not be coming back to this location. read more

My friends and I love Boiling Point! We used to come like 1-2x a month back in high school and I would get the same beef broth over and over again. This recent time that I went, I tried their milk curry broth and I don't think I will ever go back to the beef again because the curry broth was sooooooo flavorful and delicious, I'm glad I decided to try something new. My mouth is watering thinking about it. Also, I've been coming to this location for years and the service has always been great, but I think with covid it has slowly gotten worse. It's very inconsistent. The staff themselves are very nice and friendly, it's just the establishment that seems to run a little inefficiently when it comes to seating customers, but nothing that's super alarming. I still come every once in a while and I definitely recommend this place for a quick hotpot fix. read more

Overall: Haven't been here in years. Probably won't come back anytime soon. Decent hotpot. If you're willing to wait over an hour for it then go for it. Food: Food was decent. Surprisingly the miso soup was really flavorful and not as grainy as I imagined. The beef soup was good too. Tons of cabbage in both soups though. Service: 4/5 for the service. Servers here are nice and friendly. One server let us keep our noodles when we changed our mind and wanted rice instead. They took a while to get our check though. Ambience: A little dark inside and for some reason the place was freezing. I'm not sure if they intended to do that so you can enjoy your soup more? Wait time is really long. I had to update my review. Service is better these days and food is still good! One dude I particularly appreciated for non-overbearing but attentive service and should've got his name. Food isn't for everyone but if hot pot is your jam-this is a solid, consistent choice. So, expect to wait on busier days because it's a fun spot, but a weekday lunch- you should be good to go read more

Boiling Point is amazing! I love soup, stew, hot pot, shabu shabu etc., and I love BP's variety of choices. I got the curry flavor and it was so rich and creamy! There are so many different components to this dish and it will definitely leave you full. Sometimes there is a wait time that takes awhile, but there is plenty of seating inside! read more

I got the Taiwanese spicy pot. Keep in mind that this pot is bigger than the other ones, most likely because it has a ton of toppings. The only spice level you can get is flaming spicy which was very spicy for me, but it was still enjoyable to eat. I think the boiling soup made it feel extra spicy and my lips were burning after I ate! The broth also reminded me of the spicy Mongolian hot pot broth, specifically Happy Lamb's spicy broth. Service was ok. We asked for extra time to decide our order which we thought was like 5 minutes but ended up much longer so we had to flag someone down. We also had a hard time getting the bill because it took forever to ask for it and to get the receipt. They did frequently check to see if we needed more broth though. They were nice but slow in some areas. *extra note: My sister wanted to order Thai tomato and asked if the broth was tomato broth because she doesn't like it. The server said that it was beef broth and there were tomato toppings, so she just asked to remove those. Someone else came to our table later to explain that Thai tomato in fact had tomato broth and she had to order a different pot. It was no big deal, but it would be nice if they put what kind of broth is used in each pot on the menu to avoid miscommunication. read more

This place messed up my order so bad. Ordered 2 beef pots, 1 mild, 1 medium, both with rice. Got my bag and came to my car. One of the pot started leaking in the bag, which I think was because they didn't close the lid completely. Came home, opened the bag and inspected both pots. My rices were missing. Zero rice. Both pots were missing vermicelli. Now I'm left with half empty pot, no rice and no vermicelli. We were nearby so just ordered but I'm regretting my decision. My friends and I went post-Christmas so the wait was longer than usual and it was really cold outside. Nothing stands out, but overall I'm satisfied with the taste + quantity of the food. My friend and I got a hot pot each and another got tea. It's a good amount of food and it takes a while to eat cause it's super hot, but it's nice cause you can chill out and catch up with your friends. My friend's tea arrived lukewarm, so that was a little disappointing. Service was good! Someone was always by to either refill our waters or add more soup to our hot pots. Would eat again as a comfort food, can go because it's down the street type of situation. read more

When you think a quick call for a TOGO PHONE order turned into 20 plus calls and a drive to order Togo! What's the point of call for pick up when you TURN your ringer off? This wasn't the first time this happened to us. My boyfriend and I called so many times to order pick up only for it to keep ringing! I'm sure someone there turned it off. I know for a fact you can see the phone screen light up as well! What an upsetting event! My boyfriend had to drive over there to order Togo and wait rather than ordering for Togo to get there pick up and leave. He informed the worker about their phone as well and a worker asked another person if they turned the ringer off. Which she said no. Its BOILING POINT! It's a busy place! When does your phone not ring? Yeah.... When YOU GUYS turn it OFF!!! Nothing was offered for the inconvenience and their mistake! What a shame! read more

I love BP! I usually frequent the Gardena location but they are still going through renovations so here I am. The only diff is the restaurant size (this is slightly bigger) but the wait is still long. We arrived before they open and there were several groups waiting outside! Don't forget to sign in to get your ticket or a text. Luckily we made it in the first wave otherwise it would've been over an hour wait. #4 Beef Hot Pot is my go to! Iced green or black tea is included with the lunch price. Lunch is a better value because dinner prices are higher but the pot is the same and it doesn't include a drink! The spicy fermented tofu is a great starter. They don't mess with the spice here because it was spicier than usual. Eek! Tip: download their app to rack up points for discounts! Service was great and there were plenty of parking (if you arrive early)... shared lot with multiple businesses. read more

Amazing food with tons of flavors that will awaken all of your known and unknown culinarily tastes. The place is a bit small and very popular, so be ready to wait a bit. Don't get me wrong, the food is definitely worth the wait. Make sure to get your number as soon as you arrive. The machine is on the left side of the entrance. So far I have had their Thai Flavored and Four Beef dishes. I only do the medium spicy level and I was able to handle it. I wouldn't recommend the high spicy level unless you can handle it. The servers are very prompt and friendly. They walk around refilling your water and broth if you wish. This place has definitely become one of my favorite restaurants in the Los Angels County area. read more

I love Boiling Point but today's experience was just not it. Decided to give this location a try again and it was a huge disappointed. First off, the wait is extremely long compared to other locations. We got seated after an hour of waiting. I understand they were understaffed, but they forgot one of our orders so it took even longer. After some time, they finally brought it out. After paying for the bill with a gift card, we realized they had charged us for an extra hotpot. They were unable to refund us on the gift card. We were told we can come back next time to "redeem our free hotpot." However, not sure how reliable this is without a gift certificate. Overall, it was a bad experience. They didn't do anything to compensate for their mistaken and now we have to return to this location for the remaining balance of our gift card :') read more

This day was our first date night without out kids. We usually come to this location a lot and I have never felt uncomfortable being here. When we arrived we saw a lot of couples waiting outside and usually we have time to have a look at shops around this boiling point, we decided to wait while we walked around. We received a text at 8:15pm saying our table was ready & immediately after that 8:16pm we recieved a text asking if we would still like out table. Which seemed odd from other experiences we've had. We walked back from Daiso and checked in as soon as we recieved the text but when we arrived the staff said they needed to go ask something. Which was fine. She told us that next time we would have to resign in on the tablet and that for this time they would sit us and showed us the table where to sit. What made me feel very uncomfortable was that after that this staff went around with other staff telling them about her calling us 4-5 times. I'm guessing venting about us coming minutes after. I have never felt uncomfortable being in a restaurant. I felt that whenever I ordered something more they would all turn to look at our table. I will think twice about coming here again. I've been here several times and have never felt this uncomfortable. I didn't get to fully pick everything I usually do because I felt like anything I'd add would be for the staff to stare at us. Loyal customer since the first store opened in Monterey Park. But the service in this Artesia location is questionable. Got here around 11:05, more than 80% of tables are still available. Servers from other locations will ask you just go get any table. Instead, server here just ask you to wait outside. I didn't get seated after 20 minutes. I have nothing against any of servers here, their altitude is fine. It's just that I find this seating procedure very awkward and not customer friendly. And in business sense, this is not an efficient business practice. read more

Staff flow issue. Got here during the day and there were about 8-10 tables empty and a couple more that haven't been cleaned up/have been sitting waiting to be cleaned. It's been 30 mins and it took me going inside and complaining to get seated immediately. Service is slow as well, often having to sit for a period of time before a server comes. just want to Thank Jared and John and the rest of the staff for their awesome customer service on Tuesday May 2. They were quick to have us seated even thou the restaurant was packed on a Tuesday. This location is very popular so have some fucking patience. These guys work their ass off. Not everything is fast food and is instant dopamine like Instagram. Jared was super kind and spot on to take our order. Jared was able to get drinks, vermicelli all in one go. Jared actually remembered my girl and I from a previous visit. John was able to help us with our drinks too. He was always ready to work and very proactive in getting things done. They are super hard working so give them raises! DO YOU HEAR THAT MANAGMENT? Came for lunch, 2:00ish, inside had plenty of tables, dirty and not ready to be turned over. However there was a wait of 3 parties. Maybe they are understaffed, maybe they are over whelmed. But its not the middle of a rush for sure. Waited for a couple minutes inside and was told to sign in, after explaining I had already done so. Was told to wait outside. I respectfully said ok. The wait time on a Wednesday at 7:30 was surprisingly quick! We got seated immediately and already knew our orders. The food spice was really good, I got mild and it was perfect for the taste. FYI this location violated health code regulations: "Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), service dogs are allowed in restaurants, but they must remain on the floor, not on seats or tables. Health codes prohibit animals on furniture to prevent contamination." This whole environment of the restaurant and its unsanitary health violations makes me question how clean this restaurant is. Because if it's stuffy and terrible ventilation along with no air conditioning in the dining area how bad is it in the kitchen??? Food made with some sweat. Yum.

The noodles and the chunjang should be ready to go. Flavor was great. Portion was great. Kim Chi and Danmuji were ok. This is a no frills, down to business restaurant. I have been a long-time customer of Boiling Point, and my recent visit to the Artesia location on October 27 at noon highlighted several issues. 1. Workflow Issues: We arrived at 12:25 PM and waited about 45 minutes for a notification that our table was ready. When we checked with the host, there was no one at the entrance. I approached two employees with tablets, but they avoided interaction. After finally speaking to the cashier (E1), I was told to wait outside, despite five empty tables that hadn't been cleaned. We waited over 20 more minutes until another employee (E2) asked for our number, only to direct us outside again. I witnessed the same experience happen to two other customers. 2. Customer Service Issues: After our lengthy wait, my 73-year-old mother, who had a total knee replacement, needed to sit. She took a seat by one of the empty tables, but E2 insisted she move outside. I explained her situation, but E1 insisted she had to wait outside. I ultimately had to move a chair outside for her. 3. Customer Experience Issues: a. We received our hot pots but lacked essential items like chopsticks, spoons, and rice. We had to repeatedly ask for a plastic fork for a child and for missing side orders and drinks. b. Staff members appeared low on energy and were often unresponsive to customers. Johnson was a notable exception, as he was friendly and eager to help. c. When we requested our check and a takeout container, we only received the check. When I asked again, E1 simply pointed to the container, expecting me to retrieve it myself. While the food was as good as ever, the overall experience was disappointing. Suggestions for Management: 1. Reevaluate workflow to enhance table turnover, particularly in areas within your control. 2. Ensure that hot pots come with standard accompaniments like rice and utensils ready, which will improve efficiency and reduce customer requests. read more

They said "FU*K YOU" to us.... I called in at around 10:20 p.m. and ask them when they were calling last calls. They told me that the last call was at 11 and closes at 11 p.m. So we drove there and got ther around 10:50p.m. They were really nice to us at first and got our orders real fast. But when we got the food the two non spicy ones were really plain and the spicy ones were too spicy and way over sauced. So we took out the chilli oil that was floating, about 1 cm thick on our pot ,and ate as much as we could. We tipped them 10 dollars for 71 dollar check for 4 people. Our two friends left few minutes early to get boba time and me and my other friend finished it few more minutes after the other two left. While me and my friend was leaving, I heard this one guy open the door and yell out "FU*K YOU". We weren't so sure if they said that to us and we told our other two friend who went to bobatime. After we got the boba, we went to one of my friend's car which was parked right next to boiling point. And one of my friend heard this one guy with curly blond hair whisper/ talk " fu*k all you guys and your ugly as car" thinking my friend didn't hear him. My friend turned around and saw him run back to the cashier place. We got super pissed off knowing that we did nothing wrong. Did we not tip them enough or something??? This location gave me the worst experience of my life!! From the second we sat down after waiting for about 20 mins was a living nightmare. it was late & we were hungry.. 1)our waiter some dude whose name starts with a D... didn't even come to us.. I had to call him over.. on top of that he didn't write anything down.. I knew he'd mess it up because of the extra toppings we all asked for. Then to top it off, when I asked what he recommended for the toppings I wanted he was stuck.. so I just chose anything! Our food took FOREVER.. I had to ask twice if it was almost done.. when it finally came.. BOOM I knew he got it wrong! He brought me out something very spicy & not what I ordered... the lady took it back as my friends started to eat their food... just as my friends were finished with their food they bring mine out along with my drink that I ordered.. no one brought us napkins which I had to waive them down for .. & a spoon... it was just a very unpleasant experience.. especially for the fact that I was sitting right in front of the cashier & still had to get up to pay my bill.. and they had to adjust my bill THREE TIMES because they over charged me for things I never ordered! read more

UNACCEPTABLE - Major Privacy Violation Only putting 5 stars to grab your attention I had a deeply upsetting experience at Boiling Point. The restroom lock was broken, and there was no sign or notice indicating the issue. This led to a very uncomfortable and distressing situation, especially considering it's a single restroom where privacy should be even more prioritized. The lack of attention to this problem caused significant anxiety, and I was disappointed by how my concern was initially handled. The lack of security--no camera near the entrance to protect customers--is unacceptable and only adds to my concern. I was shown the camera recording, but it didn't fully put my mind at ease--I could barely see anything in the footage, leaving me uncertain if they could have taken any photos or capture any media during the incident. While the issue with the lock was addressed, it's vital for businesses to ensure their customers privacy and safety at all times. Restroom locks should always be functional and any problems should be clearly communicated. Pre-COVID Review: I've never had hotpot in my life, so this was a great first place to try it! The location is surrounded by a bunch of other asian stores and snack places that makes it easy accessible to grab some dessert, boba, or groceries after if you are trying to knock two birds and one stone! The overall place itself was very customer-friendly. When having my order taken, the guy was very polite, detailed, and even when he missed a small part, he was quick to catch on before we even did. It is a nice place to eat with all of your friends on a long day and is super filling! The miso one is the for sure way to go. They give you a side of rice or noodles and if you like to drink your broth with your soup (they do refills on broth) then you'll never feel hungry or dissatisfied leaving this place! This place is easily five stars. I come here way more often than I'd like to admit, and it never disappoints. My go-to is the #7 mushroom veggie with tofu skin. It's flavorful, comforting, and consistently delicious. I always pair it with white rice and green tea. My partner orders the #4 beef with an extra side of beef and quail eggs, plus unsweetened iced tea. The white rice comes included, which is a nice touch. The sauces are incredible. I use all three every single time because they truly elevate the meal. And I have to say, I noticed they recently replaced the sauce containers and they look brand new. I've been coming to this location for years and it sucks to say that service has really gone downhill in the last few months.. I'm not sure if it's different management, or different staff as I had asked a server what happened and why everything is so different and she stated to me that a bunch of servers were fired for some reason or the better end of workers quit. The staff just doesn't seem as aware or knowledgeable about the restaurant or how to be a server in general. In addition to that, the food just doesn't hit the same anymore since the ambiance is just way way different. I wish they could bring back the better staff since they were obviously the people who made the store what it used to be. read more

Service was amazing today. The staff today just seemed so in sync and cooperative with each other. Wait was not too bad. We came around 1:20 and got seated around 1:45 even after being told the wait would be longer. Also, the food came out really quick and it was amazing. The ambiance of todays meal was well rounded with the music and vibe of the staff and couldn't have been a better dining experience. We usually come at lunch on Fridays and Saturdays and the staff definitely seemed to be the better of the bunch on these days (based on the previous reviews I have seen) and it really shows. read more

I always come here whenever I'm craving hot pot. This place hits the spot! There is always a wait, especially on cold days like today, but they have the texting system that alerts you when your table is ready. I waited around 30 minutes for a party of 2 and we ordered our usual Lamb soup. For some, people get their own pot, but I find one too much food for me, so I usually share it with someone else. The service was great, I got my soup refilled on time, which I appreciate. Overall, great place and service! If you're okay with waiting for at least 30 minutes, give this place a try. read more

Worst boiling point location only because they never seat guests fast enough even with empty tables! I purposely come during off hours with 4 empty tables and still do not get seated right away. Also, there's always a bunch of tables not cleaned... for a long time. I love boiling point but this location needs to train their staff to quickly address this issue. I've been to other locations and don't really have this issue anywhere else. They are fortunate to have a big enough space for customers. Hopefully they can use that to their advantage and get customers in and out. read more
