I came to Tony's BBQ in Artesia for one reason and one reason only. Their super tasty pork and chicken skewers! My mouth is watering as I'm typing LOL. Funny, I didn't even know Tony's BBQ was located in Artesia until I saw them in passing when I was in route to the Simply Eggless Bakery - Délicieux to pick up a Black Forest eggless cake. This restaurant has a colorful and fun decor. They have inside seating. No outside seating. Their menu has a variety of food / drink / dessert options. They offer individual items and combo plates. I have been to 3 other Tony's BBQ locations and they pretty much have similar selections. Now I can say I've been to #4. The lady who took my order was very welcoming and friendly. I got 3 pork sticks and 3 chicken sticks. They were huge and tasty! Both my daughters love them. I enjoyed them, too. Chicken was good, but we liked the pork better. I think the pork soaks in the marinated sauce better than the chicken does IMHO. I'll be getting more pork sticks next time for sure. They were about $3+ per stick which isn't too bad for the amount of meat given per stick. I highly recommend Tony's BBQ if you're craving for amazing Filipino flavored foods and more. If you're craving for something specific, it's best to call ahead. Judging from packed meals I saw in their back counter, that's what a lot of locals and regulars probably do. Though there's seating inside, all orders are packed in to-go foam boxes. I'm a bit environmentally conscious so I hope they change this for dine-in customers. Use simple plates, trays, and utensils that you can easily clean in a dishwasher. My favorite items I would order again are the lomi, beef ribs, and fried tuna collard greens. My least favorite was the pork bbq. It was chewy. They should use a more tender part of the meat The java rice that comes with all combos was tasty; however when I eat something saucy bbq, I prefer plain white rice to balance out the thick sweet flavors. The lady at the front was nice, friendly and had really great customer service. She was thoughtful and interacted kindly with customers. The food did a while but I could see that they were busy. Restaurant itself has a few tables and one communal seating area. It's kept clean and tidy. Perfect spot for a quick meal. They offer pork, chicken, or beef bbq sticks. Marinated chicken called inasal, this is sweet marinade that compliments well with their signature sauce and fried rice. The BBQ pork had a right balance of lean and fatty meat marinated with a sweet and savory sauce. It comes with a heaping portion of rice, atchara (pickled papaya), and a sauce. The sauce tasted like their version of Mang Tomas which always compliments grilled meats well. They also had an egg drop soup on the side which adds some soupy bites in between. Their taho was a classic with the usual silken tofu, sago, and arnibal (brown sugar syrup). It's a little steep for $8 a serving, but not a lot of places serve this so it's definitely worth getting. And the sauce that came with it was irresistible. The only knock is the chicken portion was a little on the small side. I think for $14.95, there should be 3 pieces instead of 2.
