Writing this review after coming here for the second time to see if food quality and service is consistent. This will be our go-to Korean comfort food place now! The other one we go to has gone too popular and wait lines are over 1 hour. First time coming here, we were craving Korean soups and they have them here! I ordered the chicken soup which is very warm and comforting. The other soup we got is the assorted beef soup: clean and hearty. We ordered seafood pancake on the side which is crisp and so oniony. Second time we ordered rice dishes, stone bibimbop and bulgogi bibimbop. Both came out in the stone pot sizzling hot. Side we did the fried mandoo and sea food pancake again because it is so good. They haven't been too busy so looking forward to go to here whenever we crave comfort food :) read more

Small Korean owned soup shop in the same plaza as Soju Ya and a neighborhood bar. This separate building has been through a few turnovers from coffee shop to other businesses. Came here for a later dinner with my son. Despite the recent SoCal heatwave, we both wanted hot soup! No other patrons were present tonight, but we were still able to get dinner. I usually love a soup with tripe and that's what I got- very tender pieces in a clear tasty broth. My son got the mixed Sullung tang that had beef slices and tendon, served with thin clear noodles. We both got the spicy sea snail salad - served quite chilled with shredded cabbage onion and a sweet spicy dressing. That was very satisfying and refreshing as well. One of my favorite places for sul lung tang....if only I lived nearby I would be here at least weekly. This slow cooked broth is one of my favorites and I have tried many places in Orange County and Los Angeles County. You will discover a rich, milky broth that hits all the right notes. The mixed broth has tendons (collagen) and tender fatty beef combined.... If you like a little bit of both.... This place was GOOD and it's authentically Korean. I was across the street for a funeral viewing and decided to come here for lunch to toast a friend's departed father. I ordered the beef bibimbap in the hot stone pot and 1 bottle of Chamisul Fresh. The bibimbap was good and they used a good cut of beef for it. What blew me away was their Salgogi Sullung Tang that came with the entree. It was super rich, flavorful, and hearty. The bottle of soju was highly affordable at $10. Another close friend of mine was heading over to attend the latter part of the service, so she met up with me for lunch. She ordered the beef rib soup and she loved it. The broth was strained well, but had a lot of depth and flavor. The banchans were good, too. I would come back to this place if I'm in the area or if another celebration of life happens. The venue was clean, bright, quaint, and the waitress was SUPER nice. She managed the front of the house by herself on a Saturday morning/afternoon. If it's your first time remember that the soup is unseasoned and you add sea salt, located table side, based on your preference. I came in on a Saturday night and they were a bit busy as they seemed short staffed that night. The man I assumed was the owner said that his waiter had some sort of emergency and called out so he seemed pretty overwhelmed. With that, the service was still fast and he was able to refill my banchan multiple times and check in on me. I ordered the ox knee soup and even with the rush and staffing issue it came out quick enough. The soup was very rich and flavorful. The pieces of meat were not as big as I'm used to but it tasted great. There are probably better options in Buena Park or Garden Grove but considering this was closer to where I was coming from it was totally worth it read more

If you arrive before 11am it's only $13.99 which is a steal! Not only do you get soul warming soup but also rice, kimchi, radish kimchi, macaroni salad, fish cakes, and marinated jalapeños. Even at full price of $17.99 it's worth it. Soup had thin slices of tender beef and glass noodles. You can get rice noodles if you prefer. I've had sullungtang at several restaurants specializing in it and this broth has been my favorite. Service was inviting and checked with me a few times if I needed refills on anything. They have a large variety of soups plus several non soup items. I cannot wait to return to try more stuff. You can feel the love put into all the food! Here's what we ordered: Budae jjigae (Army Stew): It was a large serving, it can easily be a good serving for 3-4 people. Ramen Noodles and Rice Cakes, Sausage, tofu, and kimchi! The broth of the stew itself was delicious and has the perfect amount of spice! Probably one of my favorite budae jjigae's I've had! Bossam (Tender Boiled Pork Belly) : This was another large serving, I will say that I would probably want to eat this by myself for sure. Between layering the lettuce, bossam, or any of the other sides that come with was just a great combination of flavors. Sogogi Dolsot Bibimbap (Beef Hot Stone Bibimbap): Oh my goodness, the beef was perfect, but then just mixing it in with the veggies and rice to evenly crip it out is *chef's kiss*. You helped us get seated right away you gave us recommendations and taught us how to eat everything. Him alone is the reason I will come back. But the food!!!!! If you're feeling under the weather, this is the perfect pick-me-up that will hug you with every slurp! Boiled Sliced Pork ($41.75) Classic bossam that came with all the standard sauces and accompaniments. The pork slices were tender, though they were more thinly sliced than others I've had from other restaurants. The napa cabbage was prepared standard in saltwater brine. The wraps were delicious with everything together. The order also came with a small bowl of sullung-tang which had a milky broth and tasted nourishing and comforting. Pork Cutlet ($20.42) Huge piece of pork cutlet with cole slaw on the side. The cook on the pork cutlet seemed uneven and some pieces were a bit dry. I would probably skip this next time. Comfort food to the win! Not only I'm a hard advocate for sulungtang , I love trying different places that specialize with this dish. I used to go a lot to the OGs like Hanbat and Juntong. And I'd say for OC area this place really delivers. Their Jokbal is awesome too! It's enough for 2-3 people I'd say. I'm kinda sad how this place is very quiet and not too exposed, not sure if it's location or marketing problem. Their space is okay and parking is plenty! This is a clean and bright restaurant with excellent service and great food. My husband ordered the beef bulgogi and I ordered the mixed Sullung-tang. I love the sullung tang- it has a wonderful broth flavor and a good portion of mixed meat, tripe, & cartilage. I usually find other places to have salty sullung-tang but here...I really appreciate being able to control the salt content myself so I don't add salt and enjoy the broth as is. The beef bulgogi was also tasty without being overly marinated compared to other places. We also enjoyed the small assortment of side dishes. I would definitely come back since it's now become one of my favorite places to have Sullung-tang. Their Sullung Tang and Dogani Tang were awesome - we seasoned it with salt, lots of green onions, and dadaegi (spicy paste which you can request) and the bone broth was perfect. You can request their rice noodles or glass noodles for their soups and they each came with rice!
