Mandu and katsu were very good, and giant portions as well.

Across the street from a local cemetery this joint specializes in korean beef broth, served w brisket slices and glass noodles aka sullungtang. If it's your first time remember that the soup is unseasoned and you add sea salt, located table side, based on your preference. You can add chili paste and green onions, also located at the table, based on your liking. The broth was legit, loaded with collagen and beefy goodness, and served piping hot. Moreover I was pleasantly surprised about the quality of banchan (side dishes) as well as the dumplings and katsu, which were not only delicious, but very generous portions wise. 100% revisit worthy, 5 stars.

If I could give this restaurant 100 stars I would! Run, don't walk, and thank me later. This place is clean, bright, tables are spread out, they are so friendly and nice. The food is hot, fresh, beautifully presented, and tastes amazing. THE SOUPS. 1000 stars. Order them all. Not pictured is the seafood pancake (was too excited and ate it too fast and forgot the photo). Please support this wonderful restaurant. The food is so good!

I came in on a Saturday night and they were a bit busy as they seemed short staffed that night. The man I assumed was the owner said that his waiter had some sort of emergency and called out so he seemed pretty overwhelmed. With that, the service was still fast and he was able to refill my banchan multiple times and check in on me. I ordered the ox knee soup and even with the rush and staffing issue it came out quick enough. The soup was very rich and flavorful. The pieces of meat were not as big as I'm used to but it tasted great. There are probably better options in Buena Park or Garden Grove but considering this was closer to where I was coming from it was totally worth it

SO GOOD!! Hot stone bibimbap was one of the best I've ever had. Rice was already crispy at the table. Tons of mushrooms. Perfection! And came with a side of soup (didn't see that in the menu!!) Soup was solid. Exactly what you would expect for sullung tang! Dumplings had sweet beef packed in. Banchan was delicious! Friendly service. Toddler friendly. Will be back

Checked this place out w/ the hubby and it was surprisingly good! Very clean, seems newish b/c I think it was a lot of different other food places before this one. Service was relatively good. I love they give you a bowl of scallions to add to your soup. The broth is rich and rustic. The addition of knee cartilage is nice and special. The Mandu was really good. Very solid place for nourishing soup. Give it a try!

Taking advantage of the morning special. $4 off Salgogi Sullungtang!

I really loved the sullungtang here. It has such a rich flavor without being oily. It had so much flavor I barely added any salt but did add green onions which were fresh. If you arrive before 11am it's only $13.99 which is a steal! Not only do you get soul warming soup but also rice, kimchi, radish kimchi, macaroni salad, fish cakes, and marinated jalapeños. Even at full price of $17.99 it's worth it. Soup had thin slices of tender beef and glass noodles. You can get rice noodles if you prefer. I've had sullungtang at several restaurants specializing in it and this broth has been my favorite. Service was inviting and checked with me a few times if I needed refills on anything. They have a large variety of soups plus several non soup items. I cannot wait to return to try more stuff. This is the 3rd restaurant I have tried at this address so I'm really wishing them the best.

Plenty of parking. Spacious restaurant with nice staff. Steamed dumplings were a little doughy so will try the fried ones next time. The soups and boiled pork were delicious. Pork belly were cut perfect not too thin or thick. Pork katsu was good too! Would return if ever in the area again.

It's in a parking center that supplies a lot of parking. When you walk in, you're greeted with a warm greeting, and the environment feels warm and welcoming. There's a great variety of foods! You can feel the love put into all the food! Here's what we ordered: Budae jjigae (Army Stew): It was a large serving, it can easily be a good serving for 3-4 people. Ramen Noodles and Rice Cakes, Sausage, tofu, and kimchi! The broth of the stew itself was delicious and has the perfect amount of spice! Probably one of my favorite budae jjigae's I've had! Bossam (Tender Boiled Pork Belly) : This was another large serving, I will say that I would probably want to eat this by myself for sure. Between layering the lettuce, bossam, or any of the other sides that come with was just a great combination of flavors. Sogogi Dolsot Bibimbap (Beef Hot Stone Bibimbap): Oh my goodness, the beef was perfect, but then just mixing it in with the veggies and rice to evenly crip it out is *chef's kiss*. This is my favorite Bibimbap that I've had to date. The Banchan just tastes very fresh. I kept eating it on the side as well as eating our main dishes. Hands down, between the service, the environment, and the quality of food, I definitely recommend it!

Their beef soup selection was decent & my husband said the sullung tang was decent. I ordered the stir fried squid and the marinade was too sweet & heavy. They had the squid chopped into small pieces, making me wonder if they gathered up left over squid & threw it into make this dish. Clean atmosphere & friendly server but I am not sure if I'd go out of my way to go here again. They have "morning speak prices" of $13.99 for the beef soups so my husband may go back with his friends.

We had dinner here the other night. You will find plenty of parking. The ambiance inside the restaurant is warm and inviting. You get a good assortment of bachan. The crispy kimchi is my favorite here. We started with beef hot stone bibimbap. Loved the portion size and the flavors. There is so much delicious beef and love the crispy rice on the bottom. Next week got an order of tender boiled pork belly. This is a massive order of pork belly! And I love all the ingredients you get to make pork belly wraps! Cool and refreshing and you can make it spicy as well! A definite must-have! We ended with a Korean Army Stew. This is another massive portion! While the ingredients of a Korean Army Stew are pretty much the same at any Korean restaurant, the broth here is what sets it apart from everyone else. It is rich and spicy. It is almost like a thick beef bone ramen broth. So good! Amazing good and service will make this your spot for Korean comfort Food!

    Shirley L.

If you're craving Korean comfort food, this is the spot. We started with the banchan, little flavorful sides that get your taste buds excited. The young radish bibimbap was light and refreshing, with a clean, bright flavor that was so satisfying. The bulgogi was savory and full of flavor, a solid addition to the table. The seafood pancake was crispy on the outside, packed with seafood flavor, and the dipping sauce took it to the next level. And the sullungtang was pure comfort in a bowl, with a rich, milky broth, tender meat, and silky glass noodles that made every bite cozy and warming. The service was nice and attentive, making the whole experience even better. This is exactly the kind of meal that makes you want to come back again and again.

Hand cut Noodle Soup with Chicken
    Emi H.

Happy to have checked this place out after trying to go to another restaurant that was under renovation. This is a mom and pop restaurant that serves Korean comfort food. We saw quite a few Koreans dine here so it was a good sign. The restaurant felt spacious and was clean and modern. There's one lady who took care of everyone and she was very attentive. Here's what we got: Hand-cut Noodle Soup with Chicken ($18.56) Hands down, this was the best chicken noodle soup I've ever had! The soup looked light, but it tasted so rich in flavor and nourishing for the soul. There were plenty of noodles and chicken pieces throughout. If you're feeling under the weather, this is the perfect pick-me-up that will hug you with every slurp! Boiled Sliced Pork ($41.75) Classic bossam that came with all the standard sauces and accompaniments. The pork slices were tender, though they were more thinly sliced than others I've had from other restaurants. The napa cabbage was prepared standard in saltwater brine. The wraps were delicious with everything together. The order also came with a small bowl of sullung-tang which had a milky broth and tasted nourishing and comforting. Pork Cutlet ($20.42) Huge piece of pork cutlet with cole slaw on the side. The cook on the pork cutlet seemed uneven and some pieces were a bit dry. I would probably skip this next time. Overall, this place definitely know their soups and I would 100% go back for any of them. They didn't have a huge variety of banchans, but the ones they had were prepared well, especially their pickled radish and kimchi. There's a decent sized lot so parking should not be a problem.

Looking for real Korean food that even your parents won't call a waste of money? Check this place out -- everything's made with real ingredients, flavors are light, perfect for the whole family. Weekday breakfast just $13.99, with 4 soup choices and plenty of banchan -- super filling and worth it! We tried the dumpling, short rib, and beef cartilage soups -- mild yet flavorful. Seafood pancake? Big, crispy, packed with ingredients. Beef bulgogi? Perfect for rice-loving elders. Simple decor, cozy vibe -- a true hidden gem IG: socalhkfoodies
