    dried radish bibimbap

Amazing hole in the wall restaurant for great Korean food with super kind and attentive owners. There's ample seating inside and the side dishes were all soooo good and not ones you find as often anymore (like japchae!). Everything seems sharing portion sized and was so good. We ordered the dried radish bibimbap and the braised cod... sooo good.... I wish I could have it for the first time again. Will definitely be back again. And again. And again.

Please come here. Its some of the best korean food in OC. Theres a grandma who does all the cooking and everything she makes has changed my life. I truly didnt know certain korean dishes could taste this good. My whole life i thought i didnt like kalguksu, until I came here and tried her clam kalguksu. I would vouch for everything on their menu.

Kang Euni is an authentic, hole-in-a-wall kind of place. If you are in the mood for unique Korean comfort food, this place is worth checking out! Located in a small plaza in Buena Park, there's parking. Service: 7.5/10 This is a family-owned restaurant. When we arrived, only one person was working at the front. The service is a bit slow but understandable. Drinks/Food: 8/10 What really stood out to me was not the food but the unique banchan (side dishes). Most of the banchan here I have not seen at other Korean places, and they are good quality, too. We ordered the acorn noodles and the bulgogi combo , and they were good but did not impress me. I noticed that they have more unique, homey dishes that might be more worth trying. Price: 7/10 This place is a tiny bit on the pricier side for the portions.

    Korean thistle pancake. 10/10

Kang Euni is a true hidden gem. It's a tiny spot run by a Korean ajumma who cooks like your grandma would. The side dishes were all so thoughtful, well-seasoned, and not too salty--just pure comfort. We had the cold bean noodle soup, kalguksu, and the rare Korean thistle pancake, which was incredible. Left feeling full, happy, and cared for.

I came here for a late lunch because it was relatively close. This place is tucked away in the plaza shared with the Walmart neighborhood market. Lots of parking- no issues. This place is very traditional Korean mom and pop place. I've only seen older ajhummas and ahjusshis here lol. Food is good here, just wish they put more proteins for the price tag haha. I got the bulgogi bibimbap dolpan and it could easily serve two people. Or soup order was the galbitang with radish leaves which is very earthy if you like that. Plenty of seats, but will get noisy with the amount of old people drinking lol.

Visited this new gem today, and honestly loved everything about it. Side dishes were delicious, not salty, not rushed, very home made. The beefs fell off the bone nicely, with no chewiness. The acorn noodle was the star of the meal today. Reminded me of the noodles I would get in Korea from local mom and pop's restaurant. Place was clean, service was nice and simple. Y'all go check it out :)

So good side dishes are good. Everything is good

    Olivia Y.

Pricy than other korean restaurants but food was good overall. Side dishes were delicious. Mung bean pancakes were crispy on the outside and soft inside. Strong miso was very salty. I understand miso is salty but like this was really salty. Strong miso had small pieces of tofu but other than that no other protein. Spicy acorn noodles were good but also pretty salty.

    Braised Mackerel with Kimchi

One of the most authentic Korean restaurants I've been to in the U.S. To start, the side dishes were super delicious and things that aren't usually served in other places. They are very hearty and delicious. I was already impressed and excited about the food! We ordered braised mackerel with kimchi and it really hit the spot like my grandma made it. The flavor was deep and rich and everything you could ask for, salty, sweet, umami, spicy, tangy, deep. It's not too overpowering either. My coworker and I did not say a single word while eating. We got another round of rice because it was that good. Also, items on the menu are priced right and pretty comparable to other Korean spots. It was hard to choose what to get because everything seemed amazing. The items offered here include what you can expect at other Korean spots, like kalbi and bulgogi. But they also have other dishes that seem more traditional, like braised or grilled fish, strong soybean stew, dried radish bibimbap... It's a bit difficult to even translate (but I just know it's gonna be legit). We see a lot of older Korean moms, grandmas, and dads at this spot so you know it's good. The owner seemed really passionate about the food too, and he was happy to see we enjoyed the meal. I am coming back here to try everything else on the menu!

This place is super low key and you won't really know about it unless you live near here or by word of mouth, but to my surprise the food is very fresh, tasty and the side dishes were all very good. However it is a bit on the pricier side for what it's worth. One of their specialty is the #3 casserole/stew dish on the menu. It is soybean paste based with korean spinach and handpulled flour with added brisket. It was very good. I docked a star because I packed up leftovers and had asked if I can get a little but of their kimchi to take home with my leftovers ans he said no because they sell their side dishes so he can't pack me any unless I want to buy some. For the price of the food I just paid, I don't see why he couldn't have packed me a little bit. Oh well!

It's in a small, almost empty-ish plaza, but it's a little mom-and-pop gem. Ambiance (5/5): Walk right in and you'll see that it's on the small side, but a cute and simple restaurant with family vibes. Depending on the time of day, it can feel somewhat empty while at other times somewhat busy. Service (3/5): It's nothing too special, but the workers are always friendly. It's somewhat self serve. You order at the front and then you wait for them to call your order. Then you pick up your tray of food, eat, and place the trays towards the front when done. Food (5/5): Everything we have eaten here over the years is so yummy. Their hot stone bibimbap is chock-full of ingredients with just the right amount of sesame oil and flavor; we often have to pack some of it to go. Their army stew (budaejigae) is my absolute favorite, and I've compared it to a lot of other Korean stew places, some way pricier and this one still takes the cake. It has a wonderful roasted flavor from all the meats they put in and I love going for the ramen first. I always take extra to go since it's small but filling. The best part? Let's not forget that they have self serve all-you-can-eat banchan (side dishes) and they do not skimp on variety. There's your usuals like the napa kimchi, radish kimchi and fish cakes, but they also have mac salad, potato salad, japchae and other goodies which works well for your picky toddlers. Overall, this is a wonderful little restaurant that deserves a visit over and over when you're just craving some comfort korean food at decent prices.

I highly recommend the seafood pork bone soup noodle because it was super tasty, but be aware that mild is still kind of spicy. The lady in the front was strict but reasonable, just like any real place should be. Customers were mostly family they knew the place and chatted with the boss. The atmosphere is very simple with tables that you can sit anywhere.

We ordered the following: Bulgolgi Fries Garlic Steak Noodle Egg Cheese corn Ranking in best to so-so, I'd have to say is the steamed egg. Yes, I was surprised too. I thought the Bulgolgi fries would be number one. Sadly it's not. If you mess up steamed egg, ima gonna say no to the rest of your menu. I would order two next time and just stick to that. The cheese corn was okay, but compared to PaDak and other local Korean spot I say skip this. The cheese tasted weird to me and I did t like that it was also a kraft American cheese. As a cheese lover, I only expect that square cheese to be on a burger or cheese melt. The Bulgolgi Fries could serve 3 people. But it was drenched with sauce, and spicy sauce. Not enough Bulgolgi to pay $20. The cut of fries were this nd tasted like sweet potato. It just didn't fit my taste buds. The Garlic noodle okay. That's Al I have to say about that. I'm glad I finally tried this place, but I don't know if I would come back for anything on their menu. I would rather go next door or across the street.

We ordered the naengmyeon combo with spicy marinated pork and a side of soybean paste stew. The lady was nice when she seated us, but seemed a little bothered when we only ordered the above items, because she coldly asked "if that was all" and we said yes. She walked away then yells back asking if we wanted rice because rice wasn't included, and we said no. Despite the rough start with the vibe of the lady who took our order I was still hopeful the food itself would make up for it. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best. I've never had naengmyeon that had so much chili flakes, and as someone who doesn't mind them, it was weird. The soybean paste soup was bland. And the side dishes were just okay. After the meal, I got really thirsty and my face was puffy so they are using msg. If it was a good meal, I wouldn't have minded the msg, but for food that was mediocre at best was not worth it. Although I won't be back, I did see people ordering for take out nonstop, so there must be some other dish that is giving them customers.

Would recommend to others and would return to try other menu items.

If you are from Korea, you will definitely feel at home and experience authentic Korean 'bunsik' here. I would give 10 stars if I could. Don katsu, Tuna, spicy ssam are our goto menu!

The first thing I noticed was how big the menu is -- lots of variety, which I liked. I ended up ordering the keto kimbap, sesame leaf kimbap, and tuna kimbap. The price per roll wasn't exactly cheap, but each one was packed with ingredients, so it felt worth it. The portions were generous too -- I ordered thinking it would be enough for two people, but honestly it could've fed three. The flavors were very clean and well-balanced overall. They also gave me some fish cake soup on the side when I asked, which was a nice touch. The only downside was the wait. It felt like it took about 20 minutes, probably because they were backed up with orders. That said, it seemed like a small, family-run place with just a couple people working, so it wasn't a huge deal. Overall, a really solid experience.
