Traditional Sulungtang place. They open at 7am which is a great place to come before starting your day. Food is good, along with side dishes, and pricing is fair.

Located in the hannam chain marketplace so there's plenty of parking. I got the seolleongtang and I have to say that this place checks all the boxes for seolleongtang for me. Glass noodles, beef, good kimchi. Great for a cold day so I will be back now that it's getting colder

After our adventure to SoFi in support of a USWNT win against Brazil, we were hungry. We didn't have a destination, so we considered all our options. Thanks to my future son in law, we found Jangmo Jip. When we walked in we noticed the place was empty. Definitely not a posh setting but clean and hospitable. We where greeted with a very big smile. I didn't get her name but I think she was the owner. We sat down and we tried to understand the menu as best we could. Ultimately I ordered based on the pictures. Damn I was not disappointed, soup was so flavorful. The pickled radish was crisp and the kimchi was great. This was a total immersive feel, we couldn't communicate fluently but one thing that for sure came across was warmth and hospitality. Definitely cant wait to bring wifey to this local find.

장모 집 is definitely a hidden gem to anyone who isn't korean, prolly cause the menu is all in korean lol. restaurant has cozy + homey vibes, especially cause of the comforting broth cooking in the kitchen. the ladies that work there so so kind and treat you like they're your own :) - sul lung tang (5/5): rich & creamy HOT broth. love throwing in hella green onions + some salt. such a simple dish but it's delicious & filling. pair a spoonful with some banchan (side dishes) and it'll be FIRE. only 3 banchans but that's all you need. they also serve a complimentary sweet rice drink that's refreshing after your meal! sweet treat after a savory meal hehe jangmo jip is the place to visit if you're looking for authentic korean comfort food (that's also affordable) or if your need a cure for a hangover lol.

I truly love finding hole in the wall places like this. My wife and I come when we're looking for some warm soup but we've tried almost everything on the menu and we are never disappointed! Seolleongtang (ox bone broth) is definitely the safe bet if you're craving some hot soup on a cold day.

Very well-rounded experience here! It was a cold and foggy morning and I happened to have the day off so I decided to venture out for breakfast. I really wanted some soup but the only appealing variety was Korean. Wasn't feeling optimistic til I went on yelp and saw there was a Korean restaurant open early! Parking is ample but there is construction going on so at first glance it may seem closed. The woman who was there this morning was very kind and helpful. I'm half Korean but don't speak it so it's very helpful (and appreciated!) when someone can speak good English like she did. I got the straight forward beef soup and there are two noodle selections (flour or sweet potato). The food came out so fast! The interior of the place is no frills but everything seemed very clean. The soup was still hot by the time I got home and I was happy to see I had my soup, noodles, rice, seasonings, green onion and two generous portions of kimchi (radish and cabbage). I am not sure if they serve banchan when you dine in but this was plenty. The soup was fantastic and quite soothing and the kimchi (like another yelper mentioned) is fire! I'm picky with kimchi because I hate tasting the shrimp or seafood flavor and neither of these had that going on. The soup was about $16 or so and I only ate half so $8 per home cooked meal isn't bad at all! I may have to dine in one of these days but great experience ordering out (and they take Apple Pay!) All in all great experience all around

I've been coming here with my parents for over 30 years, and it's still one of the best spots for Korean comfort food in OC. The broth, meat, and rice are always fresh--never once disappointed in terms of consistency, service, or cleanliness. Thank you for your hard work and dedication!

    Menu as of November 2025

This place has been around for at least 20 years. They serve authentic Korean bone broth soup which always hits the spot, the server ladies are always prompt and sweet, and great for takeouts as well.

Delicious even if you order the food for takeout. I do love me some offal or internal organ meats in the beef broth: seokeo sulrungtang is my go to dish. The lady serving me is always very efficient, quick and friendly . Remember to add your salt and green onions to taste. The milky broth is purposely bland but so very satisfying especially on a cold night. Banchan always delicious but there is a sign that says they cannot be taken home! I think that's if you are packing up leftovers because they always send it in small containers. Quiet and usual customers are family members eating together.

Got samgyetang to get more energy through the summer - the chicken was quite small, but the soup was delicous and chicken was tender. The soup is on clear side, so if you like thicker soup, this place isn't for you. But overall it was delicious!

It's in a small, almost empty-ish plaza, but it's a little mom-and-pop gem. Ambiance (5/5): Walk right in and you'll see that it's on the small side, but a cute and simple restaurant with family vibes. Depending on the time of day, it can feel somewhat empty while at other times somewhat busy. Service (3/5): It's nothing too special, but the workers are always friendly. It's somewhat self serve. You order at the front and then you wait for them to call your order. Then you pick up your tray of food, eat, and place the trays towards the front when done. Food (5/5): Everything we have eaten here over the years is so yummy. Their hot stone bibimbap is chock-full of ingredients with just the right amount of sesame oil and flavor; we often have to pack some of it to go. Their army stew (budaejigae) is my absolute favorite, and I've compared it to a lot of other Korean stew places, some way pricier and this one still takes the cake. It has a wonderful roasted flavor from all the meats they put in and I love going for the ramen first. I always take extra to go since it's small but filling. The best part? Let's not forget that they have self serve all-you-can-eat banchan (side dishes) and they do not skimp on variety. There's your usuals like the napa kimchi, radish kimchi and fish cakes, but they also have mac salad, potato salad, japchae and other goodies which works well for your picky toddlers. Overall, this is a wonderful little restaurant that deserves a visit over and over when you're just craving some comfort korean food at decent prices.

The food is made to order and very tasty. We ordered all their "must try" and it was really good. The side dishes were definitely home made. I highly recommend the seafood pork bone soup noodle because it was super tasty, but be aware that mild is still kind of spicy. The lady in the front was strict but reasonable, just like any real place should be. Customers were mostly family they knew the place and chatted with the boss. The atmosphere is very simple with tables that you can sit anywhere.

This spot is perfect if you're coming with a group or just trying to have a full mukbang feast. We ordered the chicken katsu, sweet and spicy fried chicken wings, army ramen soup, and their famous tteokbokki. The portions here are massive so come hungry. The chicken katsu came with two giant crispy cutlets coated in panko. I liked switching between the curry and katsu sauce because both added different flavors. The curry was savory while the katsu sauce had more sweetness. The fried chicken wings were juicy and meaty with a tangy sweet-spicy sauce that had a nice kick without being overpowering. The army ramen soup was super comforting and packed with ingredients. It had a subtle seafood flavor that made the broth even better. My favorite was probably the tteokbokki. It had a good level of spice and the sauce was addicting. Definitely recommend adding ramen because it soaks up all the flavor perfectly. Overall, a solid Korean pub spot with large portions, flavorful food, and a fun atmosphere for sharing dishes with friends.

My mom also tried this place and recommended it, so I felt confident this would be a spot I would be coming often. We ordered the naengmyeon combo with spicy marinated pork and a side of soybean paste stew. The lady was nice when she seated us, but seemed a little bothered when we only ordered the above items, because she coldly asked "if that was all" and we said yes. She walked away then yells back asking if we wanted rice because rice wasn't included, and we said no. Despite the rough start with the vibe of the lady who took our order I was still hopeful the food itself would make up for it. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best. I've never had naengmyeon that had so much chili flakes, and as someone who doesn't mind them, it was weird. The soybean paste soup was bland. And the side dishes were just okay. After the meal, I got really thirsty and my face was puffy so they are using msg. If it was a good meal, I wouldn't have minded the msg, but for food that was mediocre at best was not worth it. Although I won't be back, I did see people ordering for take out nonstop, so there must be some other dish that is giving them customers.

It's not the most obvious spot from the outside, but the moment I walked in, I knew I'd found something good. Came here specifically for their famous soondae, they have a $15.99 All Day Special. The special comes with a choice of soondae soup (or ox bone soup w/brisket and glass noodle), rice, and several banchan--easily enough for a full meal. I went with the mix version, which had two kinds of soondae plus generous slices of meat and innards. (They also have a soondae-only option.) The broth had clearly been simmered for a while--rich, deep, and warming all the way down. The soondae is handmade and incredibly clean-tasting--zero off-putting flavors. Also ordered the spicy braised short rib. Portion was solid. The beef ribs were huge and cooked until tender enough to fall off the bone. Spicy, savory, and the kind of thing you want to keep picking at. Lots of veggies too--pumpkin, carrot, potato, rice cake, mushroom--all soaked up that braising liquid and perfect over rice. Biggest surprise of the meal? The chive pancake. SO crispy! The edges were browned and crunchy, and that first bite--crunch--released this big hit of chive aroma. Honestly had me at the first bite. Every dish here feels thoughtful and comforting. It's the kind of spot you already want to go back to before you've even left. If you're into authentic Korean food or just happen to be near Cerritos Mall or Disney, definitely worth a stop. I'm already planning my next order.

The first thing I noticed was how big the menu is -- lots of variety, which I liked. I ended up ordering the keto kimbap, sesame leaf kimbap, and tuna kimbap. The price per roll wasn't exactly cheap, but each one was packed with ingredients, so it felt worth it. The portions were generous too -- I ordered thinking it would be enough for two people, but honestly it could've fed three. The flavors were very clean and well-balanced overall. They also gave me some fish cake soup on the side when I asked, which was a nice touch. The only downside was the wait. It felt like it took about 20 minutes, probably because they were backed up with orders. That said, it seemed like a small, family-run place with just a couple people working, so it wasn't a huge deal. Overall, a really solid experience.
