** | Complete Disappointment - Awful Service and Dirty Tables** I rarely take the time to write negative reviews, but our recent experience here was so incredibly frustrating that I felt compelled to share. We came in hoping for a good meal, but from the moment we were seated until the moment we left, it was a disaster from start to finish. First and foremost, the level of cleanliness in the dining room was completely unacceptable. When we were sat, the table was a total mess. It was incredibly sticky to the touch, visibly damaged, and clearly hadn't been wiped down because it was still covered in crumbs and debris from the previous guests. It's basic restaurant standard to properly sanitize a table between seatings, but that clearly didn't happen here. The service only made a bad situation worse. Our server was completely checked out, highly inattentive, and acted like taking our order was a massive inconvenience. We spent most of our night trying to wave someone down just to get basic refills and updates. To add insult to injury, the complete lack of urgency throughout the entire meal was baffling. We watched other tables around us--who arrived well after we did--get greeted, served, and cleared while we sat staring at a dirty table waiting an eternity just for our drinks to arrive. When the food finally did come out, nobody community bothered to check if we needed anything else, leaving us without silverware or napkins to even clean up the mess that was already left on the table. When we finally asked to speak to management about the lack of service and the dirty condition of our table, the manager on duty was absolutely no help whatsoever. Instead of apologizing, taking responsibility, or trying to make things right, they were completely dismissive and acted like our complaints were a burden. It is incredibly frustrating to deal with leadership that simply does not care about customer satisfaction. What bothers me the most is the total lack of accountability from the entire team. A restaurant can have an off night, but when the server is dismissive and the management is actively hostile to constructive feedback, it shows a deep-rooted issue with how this establishment is run. If the people in charge don't care about basic hygiene or customer courtesy, it trickles down to everyone else, and it absolutely showed during our visit. This wasn't just a sub-par dining experience; it was a masterclass in how to alienate customers. Between the terrible service, the unhelpful management, and the dirty environment, it was an all-around horrible experience. We will definitely not be returning, and I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you want decent service and a clean place to eat. read more

We had a great experience this week at Bobby Q! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and quickly shown to our table. Along the way, we caught a glimpse of mini donuts being made, and let's just say they had our attention. More on those later\! Carrie was our server, and she was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout the meal. Things got off to a great start with the complimentary cornbread. It was warm, moist, and the perfect way to kick off a barbecue feast. I ordered the brisket sandwich with mac and cheese. The brisket had a wonderful smoky flavor and was cooked well. It was just a little drier than I personally prefer, but I'd happily order it again because the flavor was excellent. The mac and cheese was creamy, cheesy, and a great pairing. My husband started with the loaded potato soup, which he thoroughly enjoyed. For his entrée, he ordered the Tomatillo Brisket Mac & Cheese. Their homemade mac and cheese was topped with smoked brisket, tomatillo sauce, chives, and sour cream. It was creamy, comforting, and the tomatillo added a fresh, slightly tangy twist that kept the dish from feeling too heavy. II was an appetizer but more than enough to be eaten for the meal. Our daughter ordered the pulled chicken with potato salad. The chicken was tender, flavorful, and the potato salad was a delicious classic side that complemented it perfectly. Now, about those mini donuts...they were absolutely worth saving room for! Fresh, warm, and coated in cinnamon sugar, they were the perfect sweet ending to an already wonderful meal. Carrie brought each II us a small bag and they were also complimentary. Between the friendly service, delicious food, and those unforgettable donuts, Bobby Q delivered a barbecue experience we'll definitely be back for. read more

I had high expectations for Bobby Q's in Mesa, especially since I wanted to treat my parents, who were visiting from out of town, to a nice meal. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what I had hoped for and left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. One of the biggest issues was the reservation process, which seemed completely pointless. We made a 5:45 PM reservation, expecting to be seated promptly. Instead, we were left waiting until 6:40 PM--nearly an hour later. If reservations do not guarantee a table at the scheduled time, what is the point of making one? Walk-ins were being seated at a similar pace, making it clear that reservations are not prioritized. When we were finally seated, our party of five was placed at a table meant for four, and we were simply told to "pull up a chair." This lack of proper accommodation was frustrating, especially given that the restaurant had advance notice of our party size. It felt unprofessional and unprepared. The food, unfortunately, did not redeem the experience. The Caesar salad tasted as if it was made with straight mayonnaise, rather than a proper dressing. The rib tips were 50% fat, making them chewy, greasy, and nearly inedible. For the amount spent, I expected fresh, high-quality barbecue, not what felt like leftover trimmings and store-bought sides. I wanted this to be a special meal for my parents, but instead, it was a letdown. Tonight was simply not good at all and a complete waste. While the ambiance was nice, it does not make up for the poor service, lack of organization, and subpar food quality. I will not be coming back to chance it again. Hopefully, others have a better experience, but based on tonight, it was a big disappointment. read more

Title: A Fantastic Dining Experience at Bobby Q in Mesa Recently, my wife, brother, sister-in-law, and I had the pleasure of dining at Bobby Q in Mesa, and it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. Despite our anticipation, the wait was pleasantly short, allowing us to dive into the culinary delights awaiting us. Upon being seated, we were greeted by attentive and friendly staff who made us feel right at home. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered helpful recommendations, enhancing our dining experience. Now, onto the main event - the food. Bobby Q certainly lived up to its reputation for mouthwatering dishes. From the tender, smoky barbecue meats to the flavorful sides, each bite was a delight to the senses. Whether it was the succulent brisket, the perfectly seasoned ribs, or the delectable sides like mac and cheese and cornbread, every dish surpassed our expectations. What truly set our dining experience apart, however, was the outstanding service. Despite the bustling atmosphere, the staff remained attentive and accommodating throughout our meal. Our drinks were promptly refilled, and any requests were handled with efficiency and a smile. Overall, our evening at Bobby Q was nothing short of fantastic. Let me start this review by saying that I NEVER take the time to write reviews. I even re-downloaded the Yelp app just to write this review. I live across the freeway from this place and ever since it went up, I can often smell it when I go outside. I love barbeque with a passion but hadn't tried this place until tonight. This is, hands down, the GREATEST barbeque I have literally ever tasted. I got the pulled pork sandwich with a side of fries for just under $13, and it even came with some cornbread. I placed the order to go, drove across the street after placing the order, and it was already ready to pick up! Now for the food. The fries? Literally the BEST fries I've ever had. These thin, season salted fries were absolutely incredible, and came in a respectably sized portion. There were 2 things of cornbread included that I wasn't expecting when I picked up the order, so that was a bonus- fluffy and warm. Now for the sandwich. This sandwich was decently sized, smothered in house barbeque sauce, and came with 2 extra, rather large sides of hot and mild sauce. My god.. this sauce was insanely good. The meat was very tender and not fatty at all, I added more of the hot barbeque sauce to it and literally couldn't stop eating it. I used to swear by Tom's BBQ on Country Club, but they have just been dethroned in my book. I will absolutely be ordering from Bobby Q's many more times in the future. Well done you guys, well done. read more

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the tantalizing aroma of smoked meats that immediately set the tone for a delightful meal. The food at Bobby Q Barbecue was nothing short of amazing. Each dish was prepared with care, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to quality. The meats were perfectly cooked, delivering that signature smoky flavor that any barbecue lover would appreciate. The brisket was tender and juicy, with just the right amount of char, while the ribs fell off the bone effortlessly, each bite bursting with flavor. The sides were equally impressive, served hot and fresh, complementing the main dishes beautifully. What truly elevated the experience was the exceptional service. This is our first time here. We didn't get the greatest first impression. The hostess said hello and asked how many. It was 3 adults and my 2 year old son. We were not offered a high chair during the whole we were there. He sat on my lap for part of the time a little inconvenient when trying to eat. Our server made good suggestions which was nice for our first time. However we saw a lot of staff walk back and forth and we sat along the ilse so you couldn't have missed us. Our food was delivered and we didn't have silverware or napkins. The cornbread had good flavor though. I told the server at the beginning of the meal it was my birthday celebration. So she offered a dessert for after the meal. We didn't get any refills until toward the end of the meal when I asked for it. There were so many plates on our table that were empty that I had to ask to be cleared. The meal itself wasnt bad, it had good flavor but the sides could've been bigger. After dinner my dessert was delivered which was nice, thank you. I got the chocolate cake but we had no silverware again. It had ice cream in the cake which melted. It was a nice touch but we didn't get to really enjoy it. Overall it couldve been better. read more

I recently visited Bobby Q BBQ restaurant and I must say it was an amazing experience! The food, atmosphere, and service were all outstanding. Let's start with the ribs. The meat was so tender and juicy that it fell right off the bone, and the BBQ sauce was the perfect balance of sweet and smoky. If you're a meat lover like me, you won't be disappointed. Now let's talk about the sides, Bobby Q BBQ has an impressive variety of sides that will leave you wanting more. I tried the mac and cheese, cornbread, and beer fries and all three were delicious. The mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy, the cornbread was perfectly moist and dense and the fries were crunchy and fresh. The atmosphere at Bobby Q BBQ is fun and inviting. The restaurant has a rustic vibe with a modern twist, and the staff is friendly and attentive. They even have live music on certain nights, which adds to the overall experience. Overall, Bobby Q BBQ is a must-visit restaurant for anyone who loves BBQ. The ribs are phenomenal, the sides are varied and tasty, and the atmosphere is fun and lively. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning soon! read more

Wow!!! This place is hands down the best BBQ restaurant I have been to and I have been to a lot! Went here with my husband and 2 sons and boy was the food and service amazing!!! My husband and I shared the Hog Heaven. We chose the beef ribs, St. Louis ribs, pulled chicken, and beef brisket for our meats and the roasted corn, shoestring fries and mac and cheese for our sides. It was ALL DELICIOUS! Everything was so perfectly smoked and tender. The sides were equally as great! My oldest son ordered the burger and he loved it. My youngest son ordered the jumbo shrimp and he love it as well. I would recommend making reservations (they take reservations of any party size) because this place gets busy. Made a reservation and was seated immediately. I recommend Bobby Q's to anyone who wants good bbq! This is now our go-to spot for BBQ when my hubby doesn't want to man the grill! Try it!!!! read more

My husband and I were in last night for dinner and were blown away. First off the place has a great atmosphere and the remodeling done to the restaurant that was there before paid off. There a lot of good seating options, but we choose to sit at the bar. The bartender Drew really made the night for us. He was quick with unique drink suggestions that weren't on their cocktail menu (which had plenty of good options too), he was very friendly without ever being too much and checked back at the right times. His service is why we will hands down come back. Our food came out fast and everything was delicious. I don't normally go for chicken at a BBQ joint but the smoasted chicken was amazing. My husband had the brisket, which was so good we had to trade some food. The fresh doughnuts at the end of the meal were the perfect cherry on top. read more

I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews and pictures, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. I ordered a 1/2 pound of brisket and 1/2 pound of pulled pork. The pulled pork had a delightful smoky flavor and remained moist, without overpowering the palate. However, I was disappointed with the brisket. It lacked any smoke flavor and had no bark, resembling more of a pot roast than traditional barbecue. The meat easily fell apart, whereas I expected it to have a nice crust with visible spices. It felt like the restaurant only used the smoker for show, rather than producing genuine barbecue. The server was friendly, but failed to refill our drinks throughout the meal. Perhaps it was just an off day, but based on this experience, I don't see myself returning. I hold a higher standard for what constitutes true barbecue. read more

We recently visited Bobby-Q in Mesa to celebrate a special occasion for our youngest daughter. Having been there before and not totally blown away, we decided to give it another shot. Unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. Our server struggled with basic service, like keeping drinks refilled, and when the food finally arrived after quite a wait, our daughter's order was completely wrong. By the time they corrected it, the rest of us had already finished our meals. Though the staff and manager apologized and offered a free dessert, it wasn't about the money--it was about the experience we were hoping to have. After two disappointing visits, it's clear that there's a consistent issue with service and attention to detail. We won't be returning. read more

I'm a great granny and when my adorable 6 y/o GGD stayed a couple of days with me, I was determined we would not be eating at McDs. We pulled into Bobby Q and we were not disappointed. Our server was terrific. I mentioned I'd never been there before so when I waffled over potato salad and pecan cole slaw she graciously brought me a bit of both. A rather big bit, I must say, and both sides were delicious. Cutie Pie loved the toothpick fries and her ribs. We both had enough leftover to take home. If you are a plant person, you must go just for the plants; they are gorgeous. They've created their own microclimate and the scents will take you to a moss-covered forest in Marin County. It is truly lovely. read more

This is a horrible place and if you are from Globe, Miami or any where like this just know that all the small time workers from there were let go during this horrible crisis. Personally I don't want to support somewhere that I know for a fact how the owner is. If you are smart you will not go to any Bobby q location. You will not support a person that thanks the employees that started from the beginning that helped him like shit. And if you were a customer that went there those wonderful young men and women that were good to you and that you loved that are no longer there remember how good they were to you and that they went above and beyond to make you feel welcome and now they are gone. HORRIBLE!! read more

Still ranks among one of the best BBQ places that we've ever visited. First time to this Mesa location and loved that reservations can now be made on Yelp. 5/5 service on a busy Saturday night and even though we were seated about 1.5 hours before closing time, the food was still delicious and not bottom of the barrel, slim pickings you get at some BBQ places near closing time. Recommend: -Brisket rolls -3 meat combo so you can try a mix of meats. On this visit, we got the baby back ribs, sausage, and brisket. The ribs were the best that I've ever had! Fall off the bone, smoky, and delicious! -Refreshing tropical Q-lada to sip in between bites of appetizing bbq! read more

This place has only been open 9 months but everything runs like it has been here for years! Our server Dimitri was on target the whole time...friendly, attentive, and personable. We met the manager and she was also very friendly and personable. The food was delicious. I had the wedge salad and it was good (hard to ruin a wedge salad). My mom had baby backs (I admit i "borrowed" a bone and it was delicious). She had the potato salad and roasted corn with it. She said it was the best corn she had ever had and she is almost 80 years old! Hubby had pulled pork and gave it a glowing review. Overall great food and excellent service. Will definitely be returning. read more

Bobby Qs is the only place near me that I will eat BBQ. I have said it before that I'm not a BBQ person, but they have the best smoked ribs. Everything is smoked in house, so the smell is Divine when walking by. The spicy BBQ and Carolina BBQ are alternate choices to the original BBQ flavor. I recommend trying all, as they are all tasty. The Mac and cheese was once voted best in state, which I'm not sure if they have won any awards as of late, but I remember the original bobby Qs had better tasting Mac and cheese. Overall, I think it's one of the better and classier BBQ joints in Mesa. They have a great drink selection and appealing, dark bar area as well. read more
