I've been so excited to try this restaurant since it opened and my experience was very pleasant. The food is great and our service was excellent. Our servers name was Anissa and she was so helpful and sweet. She gave us great recommendations of what to eat and asked my boyfriend and I our personal food preferences. She was so patient when we were so indecisive because everything sounded so good. Even when my son spilled his drink all over the floor she was so nice and had it taken care of immediately. Great service and great food goes a long way with me so we will definitely be returning soon. read more

My boyfriend and I went in for the first time tonight after making reservation at 7.45pm. we arrived around 7.40pm and got in really quick after that. Gio was the server assigned to our table and he was very pleasant. we ordered q rolls it was great. I ordered three meat combo, ribs, brisket and sausages, with Mac and cheese. My plate was soooo good the best I've had in a long while. My boyfriend got 12 oz steak medium cook, at first it came out undercooked for his liking. so we sent it back. they are really busy so it's understandable to me, who is in restaurant business. Their staffs came to table and sincerely appologized. that was very nice of them. They showed that they really care and take pride in what they do.good food and outstanding services, I'll definitely go back!!! good job guys!!! read more

I I recently spent my 60th birthday at Bobby Q. I wish I could say it was a great experience. my wife and I went to Bobby W on Thursday, April 20 the service and food received at that time was awesome so much sothat we jdecided to change our venue at the last minute from another place to Bobby Q after doing this we arrived on time to our party the area for our friends was not set up as we had agreed. the service was terrible. after arriving the waitress congratulated me on my 60th birthday and it took over 20 minutes to get a drink. sorry but that's not good. as the night wore on we were told that our area was going to be moved. BQ had placed a family in the middle of our area. we waited for over 45 minutes to get our original area. when my wife spoke with manager Carman who became confrontational until my wife insisted to have our original set of tables. We had told a different manager on Thursday that we wanted to be away from the center so that we would not disturb other guests. One of our 27 guests overheard our waitress telling the bartender that she "hates our group and wished we would leave". Our food orders (a BBQ sandwich and one side) took well over a very long time. My roasted corn was cold. And the wait staff had several of the sides wrong when they served us. Later that night we were 86ed just before we were about to have our desert, my birthday cake. Needless to say we did not tip our servers...as we were leaving one of our guest was speaking with manager Carmine when one of our servers approached and said "you ass holes didn't tip me."The guest said "that's right" the server responded with "if I weren't on the clock I beat your ass". I know this sounds incredible but it's true sorry can't go there again EVER Btw we had 6 designated drivers and told this to manager. Still cut the whole group because someone might give me a drink read more

Just ate at Bobby Q's based on yelp reviews, and I think most of the reviews underrated it--it was fantastic! The pulled chicken sandwich was all white meat with just enough sauce. Would recommend offering it "Memphis" style with their pecan slaw. Served with 3 different BBQ sauces--all great. My wife had the salmon and loved it. This is our new " go to" BBQ restaurant. read more

Awesome draft beer selection. Food was on spot. Had the two meat combo split... way enough food for two. Loved the hostesses so friendly. Showed us around to the different kinds of seating. Love this place. read more

We completed our 5:00 reservation on 10/5. First off, the design of the restaurant is beautiful. Several types of seating, indoor and out, to fit each request. They nail every detail here, with a gorgeous and inviting bar, perfect lighting, and plenty of space to move around. The cocktails are properly dosed, and the bar has a respectable selection of spirits. Our dinner and service had several hiccups, especially with receiving the wrong food, and we hardly received any privacy from answering staff members who were genuinely requesting feedback. But here's the thing: even with mistakes, the service and food still beat out any other establishment that I've visited in the valley - and that's the truth. I'm confident that no other restaurant in the valley offers this level of customer service. I don't spend $150 on dinner for two very often, and when I do, I'd like to not have so many errors; but I know those errors are a symptom of adjustment, which is why we didn't make a fuss. I can't wait to come back when things are even more tuned. This is our favorite place!!! read more

The food was amazing. The service fantastic. The manager even walked around speaking with customers making it an even better experience. Don't miss this restaurant. read more

Food is fine, not the best bbq and a bit pricey

It started off as a first visit here at this restaurant. My boyfriend ordered an 8oz steak (medium well) and I had ordered baby back ribs. My boyfriend dug straight into his steak to find that his steak was way over cooked. It's one of those situations where yes he didn't get what he ordered but he was willing to keep it because he didn't want to make a scene. So we pushed that aside at first. But then when I looked at my ribs, I noticed a hair in it. I picked it up thinking it was mine but it clearly wasn't mine. Not only that but it had some sort of dust on it. We told our waitress and she got the manager. The manager was so understanding about everything. She took both of our plates back and got the back to cook us both new plates. She personally brought out both our plates to each of us and nicely let us know that our bill was completely covered. So although we had a bad experience at first.. the manager was so sweet and understanding about everything that it won't be our last time there. We will be going back to try it again. read more

I usually don't write reviews but I created a yelp just to post this because what my family and I saw while at Bobby Q's was terrible. Last night my family and I were very excited to try Bobby Q's for the first time. We have heard great things about the food. Although while we were waiting to be seated I oversaw something that didn't sit well with me. A family of about 5 were in line in front of me and they were related to a young man serving at the restaurant. It was nice to see that they were happy and excited to see each other. But that all turned south when a lady manager told the guests that the young man wouldn't be able to wait on their table because it was out of his section. The young server and his family seemed very confused. I saw a couple other servers and the young man talking and sorting things out but the manager wouldn't budge on her decision which made the young servers family leave. It was very sad to see and it really bothered my family and I. So we also left and took our business elsewhere. Its so sad to see restaurants that treat their employees and families like that. My children have all worked at restaurants and we are always so welcomed when we go see them. I will not support companies like this. read more

I must say that while I love Booby Q's in Phoenix, the one in Mesa was just awful. Cold food. Bad service. Most everything that could go wrong did. For sure we will NOT be back. read more

Took my daughter and granddaughter for dinner (their first time) and we loved it. Appetizer, meal and dessert were great but what was even better was that the service was outstanding!! A special shout out to our server Jessica read more

Great first time experience for me, who by the way is not a huge BBQ lover. I'm in the industry and run a bar/restaurant so I'm the judgy person everyone hates because "I'm in the business" hahaha. Seriously though from the moment my husband and I got out of the car it was a superior experience. The building was clean even with all the greenery, which is rare in summer in AZ. We were welcomed with bright smiles from the staff and chose to sit at the bar. I'm so glad we did. Our bartender Drew was amazing! Made my first time experience joyess!! He was pleasant and knowledgeable and made us feel so welcome and like we were the only ones there when he was clearly busy. The restaurant smelled amazing, but i expected that. Honestly I didn't expect to walk in and experience fine dining like I did. The decor was homey and relaxing yet not over done. Whether you want to sit by a fire in a comfy leathered back chair or choose the traditional restaurant seating they have it! Food was excellent and prepared perfectly to my picky pallet. You know what amazed me more than anything is the staff. Every single person from host, to busser, to bartender, to owner had a pleasant smile on their face. That speaks more than anything to me. Bravo Bobby Q's. You are high class in my book and will always recommend your establishment. read more

There is a reason we chose Bobby Q for our wedding anniversary. The food is awesome and the service is consistently exceptional. We want to especially thank Demetri, we have been lucky enough to have him serve us and when we saw that he was taking care of us we knew we were in capable hands. Thank you guys keep up the great work. read more

Expected it to be amazing. It was decent. I had the pulled pork sandwich with fries. Just doesnt compare to a place like joes farmhouse. Thats a real bbq place read more

This was our first time eating at Bobby Q. We ordered the three meat plate: brisket / pork / sausage. All very good! Our sides were the pecan cold slaw which was ok...but not a gotta for our next visit. The second side was a loaded baked potato which was awesomely delicious! The manager came by our table and asked us how our meal was and saw that our granddaughter had taken her baked potato out of the skin and mashed it...and asked if she would like to try their mashed potatoes? She did...and they were beyond yummy! Our waiter was Gabriel...who was friendly, knowledgeable and gave us great service. Because of Gabriel and the delious food...we will be back! Oh... and the corn bread they bring out before each meal...sweet and moist! Butter not needed. read more

Our party of 8 were promptly seated for our 4 pm reservation. Wait staff was polite but service was slow at times. My husband and I ordered babyback ribs and catfish combination plate to share. We both agreed the food was gross. The ribs were fatty and the catfish was squishy...almost gelatinous texture. When the donuts arrived, the insides were uncooked to the point we thought they were filled with custard. Once we told wait staff, it took another 20 minutes for two sacks (instead of four) donuts to arrive. They were cooked but laden in oil. It's obvious the fryer heat was too low. We've eaten at Bobby Qs twice preciously and the food was much better. We were so disappointed at our meal last night. It is far too expensive to get such poorly prepared food. Never did the staff stop to ask how our food was. I would have liked to have told them about the fish. To top off the evening, my husband ended up with cramps and diarrhea for a few hours after the meal. Doubt we will ever eat here again! read more

Great happy hour prices, great staff, great food and amazing ambience! Highly recommend!

Best ribs in phoenix if not Arizona. Baby backs are fantastic! Service was excellent. Great beer selection. Just go!

Absolutely Phenomenal...food, atmosphere, hostesses, wait staff...top notch all the way around. Prompt to seat us and check back to make sure our needs were met. Management stopped by which was nice. Best burger! Ribs outstanding. See you again soon!!! read more

Our server Olivia was amazing and the food was so good! So glad we ended up going here!!

The food, atmosphere and staff make this a real winner, not to mention the donuts that they make fresh for you as you leave. You can tell the staff is very happy to be there, extremely friendly, outgoing and helpful. The hostesses, servers and the Manager all make you feel like you are part of their family. The hostess that seated us was Brianna (I think that was her name) our waiter was Joe and the Manager dropped by to ask us how everything was and had a nice chat with him as well. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Can't wait to go back, couldn't decide what to get because there were so many great choices, so we have to go try something different next time. The only disappointment was getting home and realizing we wanted more donuts (they literally melt in your mouth). read more

had a great experience this evening! caleb was our server and was very attentive and great personality. we will definitely be back soon

Exceptional BBQ! I always wanted to make it to their original location but never did so I was thrilled when one opened just north of me in Mesa. First off, the rustic atmosphere is perfect. When you walk in, the first thing you see is where they make their complimentary post-meal donuts(save room as this is something to look forward to!). There's a stunning bar and multiple dining rooms including a patio and lounge area. You almost get the feeling that moonshine is being distilled on-site with the charming yet rustic vibe...I really enjoy the unique setting here. One of the best things about a great BBQ joint is of course the smell, Bobby-Q's does not disappoint. There is literally every type of BBQ option you could possibly want as the menu is limitless without any sacrifice to the quality of each item. Portions are massive and I always opt for the 2 or 3 meat combo. Brisket and Ribs are the barometer of great BBQ and are absolute highlights here. Highly recommended. read more

Amazing restaurant. I use them for catering also. They are just the best in the valley. If you haven't tried their Q-rolls, you are really missing something special! read more

This is by FAR the best bbq in the whole state of Arizona. I had the pulled pork sandwich with mac and cheese and it was to DIE FOR. The mac and cheese is a 5 cheese creamy cheesy bowl of gold! The pulled pork is also delicious! It is smoked for 18 hours and you can literally taste the smoke. The atmosphere of the restraunt is great as well. It is like a rustic bar. There is 2 outside heated patios as well. There is also a "social area" where you can sit and wait for your table, and have appetizers. Make sure that if you get an appetizer you get a q roll. They are hard tortillas that wrap up some delicious brisket. It is also served with mild chipotle ranch and the best bbq sauce ever! At the end you will be given a bag of than Qs. They are delicious cinnamon sugar donuts that are freshly baked in the lobby. If you have the option of choosing your waitress make sure you ask for Niki. She was the best waitress ever! She had a great personality. Best BBQ in arizona! Highly recommend. read more

We went early on a Friday night with friends to enjoy dinner. We started in the bar, waiting for our friends. The bar is so cozy and great happy hour pricing. It wasn't long before our friends arrived and we were promptly seated. Everyone had something different. My husband and I chose the BBQ ribs to share. The ribs fell off the bone. We ordered the pecan coleslaw and a loaded baked potato. Delicious. What a lovely night. Great service, great food and ambience. BBQ's was highly recommended to us and we highly recommend it to everyone we can. read more

The venue is tastefully decorated. Our waiter, Mark, was attentive without being overbearing. All the staff were friendly and personable. The manager even came over to make sure everything was to our liking. The food, as always, was amazing. The BBQ is incredible, and the mac and cheese - mouth watering. Very enjoyable, will be back! read more

Expensive if you are not on the Happy Hour specials that are ONLY on the South Patio. Friendly, nice atmosphere...

We were looking for somewhere new to try and, originally, I pegged this as just another BBQ joint. I was proven wrong pretty much immediately. Our waiter, Garrett, was probably the best part of the experience. Customer service was awesome, he had an awesome personality and gave us an overview and some suggestions since it was our first time. Overall just made it a fun experience. Now the food... you start with complimentary cornbread and butter and it is delicious. My wife ordered the burger and fries and raved about it for days. I ordered the Ribs and Brisket with Mac and Cheese and Potato Salad. All of it exceeded my expectations. The meat was tender and fell right off the bone and it was the type of meat that didn't need bbq sauce to taste great. Not to discount the sauce that they make there and was also very tasty. All of the sides were good, the portions were great, the Mac and cheese was possibly my favorite. And the icing on top of the whole experience... mini donuts! Can it get more epic than that!? You get free mini donuts when leaving and they taste amazing! Highly recommend this place to anyone! Awesome people, awesome food, and awesome mini donuts! read more

I am torn between 3 and 4 stars. This was my very first visit to this highly recommended establishment. My family raved positives when I said I wanted to treat everyone to dinner while I visited from out of town. If I was rating the food I would give 4.5 stars because the end of meal donuts were clearly not fresh but everything else was phenomenal. However, the service would get 2 stars. She was friendly when she was around but everything took far too long from the perspective of someone who bartended and served all through college. Drinks were empty too often and bar drinks took longer than the appetizers. We were not even offered another round. The cornbread was forgot more than once and I actually had to get up from the table to ask for plates when it finally arrived. It also took at least 15 minutes for the 1 check after it was requested. I felt like we received below average service because we were a party of 8 and therefore the check had an autogratuity on it. That should not affect service and in reality the waitress did not get any additional tip from someone who has been in the industry and regularly tips above 20% on the post tax ammount for appropriate service and care. All in all I am willing to try it again in hopes that this was a fluke because the food was so good. read more
