Had Dinner last night and it was really good. We had the steamed shellfish and shrimp cocktail. I was a little disappointed by the shrimp cocktail.. The steamed shellfish was really good . For entrees we had the Ipswich fried clams and they did not disappoint. I am a New England girl who grew up near the ocean and buying seafood from the docks. Beautiful restaurant! Service was great even though it was lunch and our server was very busy. We enjoyed the delicious sourdough bread served to the table. We both had tuna salad but I didn't get the tuna melt and enjoyed mine very much The coleslaw was very good as well. My husband had the tuna melt but didn't care for it. Definitely would consider coming back for the Halibut or the Swordfish. read more

We've dined here before a couple times so I'm surprised that I haven't already done a review. Today I want to talk about their Lobster Roll Kit. I decided that for my birthday this year, I really wanted something special and since lobster is one of my favorite things (and probably one of the things I miss most now that I don't live in New England.). I did a little research and liked the price at Bluewater, so I gave them a quick call to see if I needed to pre-order. I was told it is a good idea to call ahead just so they can start getting it ready, and because there are a couple questions thet will ask - such as if you want the rolls toasted ahead of time or not. I ordered the "for 4" kit even though there are only 2 of us because it will not go to waste! But a kit for 2 would have been plenty for one meal. (Now we've got enough to have it again tomorrow and we're not mad about that). The kit included: 4 individual baggies with the dressed lobster meat (and they didn't scrimp), 4 rolls, a big tub of clam chowder, 4 bags of oyster crackers, a big tub of cole slaw, 4 grilled lemons and 4 pickle spears. Everything was absolutely delicious! The cole slaw is simple but crispy and fresh. The chowder (chowdah to those of us from Boston) was probably one of the tastiest I've ever had. The rolls were soft and I just spread some butter on and griddled them on a cast iron pan - came out perfect! And the lobster! Absolutely delicious - fresh, flavorful, good amount of mayo, and nice size pieces - perfect! Highly recommend! read more

My wife and I been eating here for a few years, Lately we have seen a noticeable decline in quality, and smaller portions. Water was brought to us in tiny glasses, with no ice and no lemons. After requesting larger glasses with ice, we were provided with them, but we should not have had to ask. We were planning to order iced tea, but when we saw how small the water glasses were, we assumed the iced tea glasses would also be very small, and it is often difficult to get refills. Although the food is good, the portions are very small. It would have been better if they had maintained their quality and just raised their prices more instead. read more

They're back..... this update is only for those former New Englanders (or those who fell in love with fried clams while visiting). Blue water Grill serves real, whole bellied fried clams (not those strip things that taste like chewy elastic bands!) They are lightly battered, served with a tasty fresh coleslaw and a mound of French fries. While I have to say there are a lot of things on the menu that I like, getting my monthly clam "fix" is something I look forward to and any excuse to go there will do. Service is always fast and friendly, the restaurant is always immaculate and the prices are reasonable. The more I think about those clams, the more I think I need to "forget" to thaw something out to make for dinner tonight read more

Made the hour long trip to the Grill and ordered the Fried Clams,and I must say they were the best I've had in a long time.(I would say as good as any I had up on the North Shore of Massachusetts the place where Fried Clams were invented.) So, hubby and I wanted seafood, so I hopped on Yelp and searched for Seafood. I remember when this place was at its old location, and I was not impressed. Seeing that it moved, I decided to give it a try. I'm so happy we did. The inside was clean and modern, which was very refreshing. We were greeted and seated quickly, and we arrived at about 5:15 p.m. We were greeted by our waitress who reminded us of your mother (in a very good way) she was engaging and friendly. We ordered our drinks and appetizers. She made some recommendations for dinner, and surprisingly, I was going to choose one of them. The appetizer was fried calamari, they were excellent, and the Sweet chili sauce was odd. We ordered our salads, and got to love a good wedge salad!! YUM Dinner, I ordered the Sandabs, and hubby ordered the Salmon. The Sandabs were EXCELLENT the only issue was the Scalloped potatoes they were not good, and the potatoes themselves were tender, but the cheese they used was WAY too pungent and was not good. This was the only issue for dinner. We will be back, just hope they fix the scalloped potatoes. read more

Happy hour on a Saturday was fantastic! What we had: Yellowtail Nigiri (I could eat 20 more right now) Spice Yellowtail roll (yum) Blue Water roll (would probably skip next time) Raw oysters (actually so very delicious) Fries (not amazing but 7.5/10) We had their happy hour vodka martinis, with New Amsterdam, and they were good but Kettle is better of course. Another delicious celebration at Bluewater Grill. If you are an oyster on a half shell lover, their Blu Point oysters are always fresh and juicy. Even though they are usually smaller, their seasonal oysters from the west coast are special! Taste the sea. As for Tabasco to eat with lemon juice, cocktail sauce and horseradish. I am not a fan of their Thai vinaigrette. Their mussels are the freshest and with the broth and chorizo, wow! Eat it with their hot sourdough bread. One of my favorite places to have mussels! They had plenty of options on the menu for everything seafood it seemed. Our server was very attentive but gave us time to decide and enjoy. The cedar plank salmon was cooked perfectly and the only thing wrong with the crab cakes was that they made me want more. I'd come back to try more of the menu if I was craving seafood for sure. Great atmosphere and service throughout, not overly busy on a weekend lunch/happy hour! Started with the captains Mai Tai which was refreshing on a 111 degree day, my partner had the American mule and really enjoyed it. Complimentary sour dough bread was fantastic! (Frozen butter balls, let them thaw then they could be useful) clam chowder was 100 percent the best I have ever had! Nice chunks of clams and potatoes and seasoned very nicely! Blue water roll was excellent, fish tacos were two huge tacos I just had a bite (not my favorite but I'm not a huge fish taco person) so I only had a bite. Firecracker shrimp was good but with a firecracker in a name I thought of some heat or spice, not so much but still tasty. Everyone at the table enjoyed it and our server was fantastic! I found my new favorite seafood restaurant. We we're looking to expand our seafood and fish experiences. Chose Bluewater Grill because of the vast options on their menu. Date night with hubby started with our 5:45 reservation. Easy online booking through Yelp. Arrived a few minutes early and we were seated immediately. If I could have the same server everywhere I eat, it would be Miles. He was absolutely amazing. He had amazing recommendations. Vast knowledge of everything I asked about. And was spot on with suggestions. He took the time to hear what we liked and didn't like. I had the Cajun grilled Australian Barramundi. Divine. I loved the mango topping with crab and arugula. I'm so happy I chose to try this place out! I came here on a Monday night and sat at the bar. There were several other people at the bar as well and they all seemed to be regulars and that's usually a good sign IMO. The bartenders were awesome! Very quick and friendly. I asked the bartender Miles which dish he would recommend and he directed me to the snapper with artichokes and risotto and it was a great suggestion! The fish was perfectly cooked, light and flaky. The artichokes had a really lightly crispy crust on them and the risotto had a great creamy texture. The only thing I would change is to cut back on the salt in the risotto a little but other than that, it was a perfect dish. They had the windows open so there was a bit of a fresh breeze coming in.
