The fresh fish and the market are amazing

Another great night at Bluewater Grill. I've been coming here for years... starting with the original location. Last minute decision to come tonight not realizing that it is Friday and Lent!! Place was packed. Waited for first available anything! Was able to get a high top in the bar area! So happy to have Ashley as our server! She was incredible!! Let us know about some great items and suggestions on our order. Didn't take photos tonight as we were focused on our food and drink. House wine, margarita. Clam chowder, scallop dinner and crab cake appetizer. The bread is always my favorite! Thank you Ashley and Jeff ( can't forget the big man) for getting us seated and enjoying yet another great night at Bluewater.

Today was a day work was special & I needed to just chill. Price point was up there but well worth the chill. The fish grilled nice tender and char amazing . Blended arugula salad and sauce was perfect sitting on a bed of lettuce. I can say one thing of the whole experience perfect that barramundi dish PERFECT. I also craving a Bloody Mary & it did not disappoint only desire more black Pepper but overall perfect. Fluffy Grandma recommends excellent service!!!

Came here on a Saturday night around 7:30 PM. It was busy, but there were still seats available. We were seated right away, which was a great start to the evening. The manager, Steve, was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel comfortable as soon as we walked in. The restaurant itself is very spacious and clean, with a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. The service was great throughout the night, and our food arrived quickly without feeling rushed. We ordered the fresh West Coast oysters, and they were absolutely amazing -- fresh, clean, and full of flavor. The clam chowder was also really good and well-seasoned. Both grilled fish entrées were cooked perfectly and tasted great. The sides were okay -- nothing particularly special. The green beans were overly cooked, so they were soft and not very well seasoned. The scalloped potatoes were okay, in my opinion. Andy, one of the staff members, was friendly, nice, and efficient. Overall, this was a great dining experience with excellent service and delicious food. I would definitely come back and recommend it to others looking for a nice seafood spot.

The seafood here is AMAZING! I have only eaten here twice but will definitely be coming back!! Very clean seafood specific ambiance, and the service was awesome, our waitress was very educated on their seafood menu, had great details to add about everything and made great recommendations!! Definitely coming back to try more dishes!!

Cheers Jeff M. Sorry we missed you

Always great food Fantastic Happy Hour A seafood restaurant built from a family passion mixture of culinary experts and active fishers. Many locations, equally fantastic. A newish location for Bluewater, now conveniently located off 51 and Bethany The best selection of seafood in Phoenix, Scottsdale... great unique sushi, fish market and huge bar. Happy Hour, 3-6... only place you can find Guinness on a Happy Hour menu, amongst all drafts. Great selection of oysters, also on Happy Hour. Huge menu of fish and meat & salads As you are seated, you are served a jug of water and fresh baked sourdough. One of the best features of their Happy Hour is that the servings are just the same as the regular priced dishes. Fish tacos, stuffed with actual cod, not just any white fish that's cheaply available. Premium and traditional sushi rolls. Equally sized on their Happy Hour menu. Quality and prices have held up through the 15 years I've been frequenting Bluewater. Never had a bad dish or bad experience

Even when I screw up the management of Blue Water Grill comes to my rescue. I erroneously booked a reservation for Saturday when I meant to book it for Friday. So I show up on Friday for my birthday dinner and they didn't have me listed. Of course they didn't. I messed up. But graciously and methodically they figured out a way to get me seated. The food didn't disappoint. Wonderful shrimp and fried cod. The asparagus was phenomenal-- nicely charred. My birthday dessert was yummy. Thank you guys. I love your restaurant but I like u as people even more.!!

Beer battered Fish

Decided to go here after reading through reviews. We live in Queen creek so its about 45-50 minutes away. Wow was I really disappointed. I wanted the fried clams...for the appetizer it was $25 and they just tasted like the breading. The best thing I had was a cup of clam chowder. Firecracker shrimp was just ok. My husband got the Bouillabaisse and I got a piece of beer batter fish, the lobster roll with ceasar salad. Both the Bouillabaisse and the Lobster roll lacked flavor. The lobster on the roll tasted like it was previously frozen and not fresh. We didn't even stay to try dessert.

We celebrated our daughter's birthday at Bluewater Grill. Brian, our server, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Great focus on customer service. We were happy to be seated at a round table making conversation easy. Noise level was low. We were able to take advantage of happy hour which was on a Saturday from 12 to 5. We ordered the following: Captain's Mai tai, Cucumber Mojito, El Cubano (rum, coke, and lime) and a Coconut Margarita. We enjoyed the freshness of the mojito. The toasted coconut was a nice addition to the margarita. My husband said the Mai tai was just ok but my son loved it. We would not order the El Cubano again. You could tell that all the entrees were made with fresh ingredients. We skipped appetizers, however, the sourdough bread with butter was served straight from the ovens. We ordered the: Rainbow Trout Amandine ($28.50) - the lemon buerre blanc was served on the side, nice portion of trout, flavor was good. We would have liked a few more capers. Scalloped potatoes were excellent. Green beans were plain. Cedar Plank Salmon served on a cedar plank ($34) with a maple dijon glaze. We enjoyed the flavor of the glaze, not too sweet, however, we felt the portion of salmon could have been larger for the price. We subbed fries for the asparagus. San Francisco Cioppino with clams, mussels, calamari, shrimp, scallops and fish ($40) was the star of the dinner. We paid the upcharge of $2.00 to include linguini with the dish. Plenty of seafood and served with a bib! Beautiful presentation. Large portions. We were too full to order dessert, however, the server brought out two servings of ice cream with lit candles to celebrate our birthdays. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this restaurant to our friends.

I love attentive waitstaff! And the waitstaff is attentive! It is like being catered to and a wonderful dinning experience. Thank you for making me feel important. I order oysters! My word! My word! My word! When I tell you the freshness of the oysters I am still shaking my head in agreement! The oysters taste clean and briny, not fishy, with sweetness. The texture made my mouth dance. It was excellent in my mouth. I would go back and I can't wait to go back! Let me hurry up and go back!

The food is excellent and the service is even better. Our server David S, our service was very helpful and attentive. Everyone that came to our table was friendly and kind. Highly recommended!

I had dinner with a couple of girlfriends at this Bluewater Grill location... It reminded me a lot of it's predecessor, Fish Market, but hadn't been there in many years, and I was more impressed than I expected with the food quality and ambiance. Service was mostly great although we had to wait a bit to place our order and we didn't get proactive water refills. I enjoyed everything I ate including the Caesar Salad, some of my friend's sushi, and the Miso Cod entree. Bluewater Grill has this location and seven others throughout California. I get the feeling it's consistent and has plenty to offer at all of them. I would definitely return for a quality experience and consistent food if in the area... but not sure I'd go out of my way either.

The experience and service is always TOP NOTCH here! We've never had a meal we didn't like but our favorites are the San Francisco Cioppino and the Senorita sushi roll with a bowl of New England Clam Chowder. Sushi rolls are always fresh and amazing. Chowder isn't gritty and has plenty of clams. Cioppino is FULL of amazing seafood that is never overcooked. They had the sliding doors open last night so we could dine "Al fresco" in the bar area. Nice crowd at 7:30 but no matter how busy it is, the service never lacks.

Octopus

I can't say this food was bad, because it wasn't. It was EXACTLY what I wanted. However, it was sort of bland and the salmon is almost TOO cooked. I'm a well done salmon kind of girl, but when you do salmon well done on a grill (with skin), it tastes BURNT more than anything else. There is a fine line between crispy skin and burnt skin when grilled, and since I'm a skin eater, burnt skin kind of throws me out of whether or not the salmon as a whole is good. I tried my best to taste past the burnt skin and for the most part, the salmon was good-- but I think they'd be better off pan frying the salmon if they want to leave the skin on. The octopus I ordered was fine but also kind of boring. It was just a boiled tentacle. Nothing special to it. Alas, I do think I'd be back if I were in the area, I'd probably just order different things or modify this order differently.

There were six of us, and we were quoted a 45-minute wait, which seemed reasonable at first. However, their system for managing waits is honestly pretty frustrating. There are no reservations, no text notifications, and no call when your table is ready. You're basically left hovering and guessing. We did make it back in time for our table, but a simple "hey, your table's ready" system would go a long way in making guests feel valued. We were seated around 8 PM after waiting and taken to a large corner booth in the back. Unfortunately, there were still two people from the previous party lingering at the table even after they had paid and the rest of their group had already left. I understand finishing drinks, but it felt inconsiderate given how busy the restaurant was and how long people were waiting. After being seated, it took about 15 minutes before anyone came to our table, and even then, not everyone in our group was acknowledged right away. Things didn't improve much from there. It took over 30 minutes just to place our food order. From what we could tell, there was only one server handling the entire restaurant. I can definitely empathize with how difficult that must be, but at the same time, when we first arrived, she appeared to be standing near the entrance rather than actively managing tables, which added to the confusion. When the food finally came out, it was very staggered instead of arriving together. I ordered the Taos tenderloin with green beans and fries. The sides were actually great--probably the highlight of the meal--but the steak itself was disappointing. I ordered it medium, but it came out with an overly charred, almost burnt crust that completely overpowered the flavor. The whole dish really needed basic seasoning like salt and pepper to bring it together. The atmosphere also didn't do much to help the experience. It's extremely dark inside--so much so that it's hard to see your food--and the space feels cramped. The layout is also pretty strange and honestly a bit off-putting. There's what appears to be a kitchen area right behind the bar, and then a full kitchen in the back--but what really stood out was the lack of separation near the restroom area. There's no proper door between the kitchen and the bathroom space, and from a small step down off the dining area, you can basically see straight into the kitchen if you wanted to. It just didn't feel very private or well thought out. Another thing that stood out was the portion sizes. While some people might see that as a positive, they were honestly too large--especially for those of us traveling who couldn't take leftovers with us. Slightly smaller portions might not only reduce waste but also help the kitchen keep up with demand and improve overall service speed. Overall, this ended up being more of a one-time experience than a place we'd return to. Between the disorganized wait system, slow and inconsistent service, and underwhelming food, it just didn't live up to the expectations we had going in.

Christy (apologies if I'm misspelling her name) was so friendly and genuinely welcoming. Loved the overall decor. Beautiful photography on the walls, and the fact that the space is woman-owned is a big plus in my book. There's also a charming little patio out back. Plenty of parking right outside, which is always appreciated. They have the most amazing Parmesan Fries I've tried in quite some time, and I think the steak frites will make a decent meal. There are also quite a few sandwiches, and I had The Bee's Knees (chicken, citrus honey, maple butter). A bit stickier and sweeter than I anticipated, and probably something one should relegate to brunch, but I appreciate the chicken cutlet itself. I don't think anything on this menu is really out of this world, but you'll find something that works. The cocktails are not very enticing. I had a Pear Cucumber Martini and I thought I was simply served a double of cucumber vodka. Overall, I don't hate it, but there's not much of a return factor either.

The soothing decor and soft lighting created a cozy atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a delightful meal, especially on an unseasonably hot day. We began our culinary journey with the Larb Mushroom appetizer, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The dish featured succulent oyster mushrooms tossed with roasted rice powder, fresh mint, shallots, cilantro, and a vibrant chili-lime dressing. Each bite was a refreshing explosion of flavors, combining the earthy richness of the mushrooms with the zesty brightness of the dressing. It was light, refreshing, and a perfect precursor to the meal ahead. For her main dish, my wife chose the Pad Z U, an outstanding selection that showcased sautéed broad noodles, crispy fried tofu, and Chinese broccoli, all enveloped in a delectable sweet soy sauce. The noodles were soft and chewy, creating a delightful texture that harmonized beautifully with the vegetable medley and tofu. The heat in the dish was skillfully balanced, providing just enough kick without overwhelming the palate. My wife couldn't stop raving about it! I opted for the Kua Kling, and it truly was a star of the evening. This spicy stir-fried minced chicken was enriched with fragrant curry paste, lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaves, resulting in an aromatic dish that was accompanied by tender long string beans and the unique Sadtor beans. The flavor profile was complex and enticing, with each ingredient complementing the others in a delightful dance of spice and freshness. It was a dish that not only warmed my belly but also left me craving more. What elevated our experience even further was the attentiveness of our server. With a genuine smile and a welcoming demeanor, they offered excellent recommendations and ensured that we were well taken care of throughout our meal.
