I went to Bluestone today for the first time and it was ok. Pricing wise -- the coffee is on par with the other coffee shops in the area but the muffin I got was more expensive than the other coffee shops nearby. Going into the shop, the decor is very cute and it is a tight space but the layout does well in making you feel comfortable. There is a kiosk to order to go which I used, it was very user friendly. I ordered a vanilla latte (I wish they had more flavors but they only had vanilla). The latte was decent, nothing great but it was ok. I also ordered a blueberry muffin which was disappointing. Great coffee! Yummy food. The portion is on the smaller side, but delicious! The service is a little slower, but it gave me more time to chat with my dining companion. The restaurant is quaint. What a wonderful morning. This was my and my husband's first time to The Boro area, and we went bc Bluestone had good gluten free options. I love having more than one item on the menu to choose from. My husband got the BLATE and it was so good. The cold brew float was insane. Think I'll be making those at home on work days now... I had the chili scramble and it was full of flavor. Not the best Americano, not the worse - just meh. I actually didn't even finish it. Inside has a very strange layout. It wasn't obvious where to order and it's too small for waiting for a to-go order. There are too many tables and no place to stand. Maybe the ambiance is better when the patio is open for outdoor seating? We went in the winter. We also got overcharged by the server taking our order (2 small coffees to go) so luckily I caught that. Not the best first impression. read more

Highly recommend this place for all day breakfast. I keep on coming back for the Avocado Smash and their protein smoothies!! I would recommend the Berry Brekkie Smoothie, it is so yummy. Overall (2.3/5) Service (4/5): The service was probably the best thing. We had a party of 7 and needed a table to accommodate for all of us. The employee who assisted us was really chill and was able to get us a table as soon as he could. He also suggested a few things they were known for, which was nice considering this was my first time at this cafe. Coffee (3/5): The coffee wasn't bad, but also wasn't the greatest. I got the Flat White (which was suggested to me) and they claimed that they basically invented the actual Flat White drink, which was a very bold statement to make. If you're making that claim to me, especially if it's suggested, I'm expecting to have THE best flat white ever. Sadly, the hype didn't follow through. Food (0/5): I would only come here for the coffee and stay away from their food. I ordered their breakfast burrito with spicy chicken added. The chicken tasted very bland, the avocado had a weird taste, and everything else just didn't mesh well together. I also got a huge stomach ache after, which I blame on the chicken and the suspicious avocado. The burrito also came with a side of waffle fries, which were still cold, had ZERO crunch, super soggy, and I'm 99% sure it was microwaved. They also literally gave me the tiniest portion of fries, maybe like 7-8 fries. This burrito also costed me close to $20. Stay away! read more

Terrible experience. I used to love coming here it seemed special and great food. The food and service have went completely downhill. I ordered vegetarian brekkie and they messed up my order twice. The second time I just ate it and explained this is still not right. They simple acknowledge it "yea, your right. We'll do something if you comeback." It's cold and rainy so decided to stop here for a hot chocolate, and it is literally the worst hot chocolate I've ever had. Not even remotely creamy or sweet. I've tried hot chocolate from a lot of local places (most recently from Maz Za Dar) bc I'm not a coffee drinker and this one is so disappointing. Waste of $5. Regular visitor! As the new building on the block, I would probably say that this coffee shop is a must to pop in to get your day started or even just to take a break from your busy day. They offer great hot/cold coffee options, cold pressed juices, and organic teas. They don't stop there though, they also offer an ALL DAY MENU with a variety of health conscious options for breakfast or lunch, and snacks (if you trying to indulge in something light). My personal favorite, the avocado smash w/ a chai latte. What brings me back here? #1. The customer service that you receive as soon as you arrive till the time that you decide to leave. It's impeccable to see each employee and the manager make every customer feel welcomed and seen. #2. Along with the service, the interior is absolutely beautiful with an open window concept. #3. Lastly, its the food! It's always so fresh and the presentation is always so nice. Making health conscious decisions, I don't believe you should have to starve. Bluestone Lane provide more than enough for you to indulge and not feel gross afterwards. I promise you, you won't regret it. read more

Nice looking place - effective touchscreen ordering system. Pros: the burrito I got was very tasty. Pretty big too - came with fries. Cons: disappointed with the Flat White. Too hot off the bat - it should come at a drinkable temperature - at least that's what I've experienced with other Flat Whites. Overall it just seemed watery to me - & just generic. The espresso barely comes through and the milk overpowers. Very disappointed with that - esp since I thought that would be too notch as it is the signature drink of Bluestone Lane. I'd probably return to try other food but be warned - the food is expensive. I'd much prefer to spend $10 and under on a breakfast burrito ... but the flavors on this one were good. Price point is too high but I guess that's what you get for going to a place in Tyson's/The Boro. Maybe I'll give the coffee another chance once the staff gets more experienced. Maybe they just need experienced barista staff? The staff around the store were very helpful - they were very proactive and communicative. Also good luck with the parking. All the spots around the shop are "paid" parking. If Bluestone does validation it should be free but still - it's annoying. Remember RTC going to paid parking? Did not go well. read more

The coffee is ok, hit and miss! I don't believe they understand the importance of the temperature of the coffee. The location is nice but apparently they have a "seating time limit", we got kicked out while in the middle of having our coffee. The explanation was that there is seating time limit of 45 minutes! I was disappointed in my very brief experience here, but it was enough for me to not want to return. My friend arrived on a Sunday around 11 AM. We were very excited to try it. We were immediately overwhelmed when we walked in. It's a super small space with just a few tables. No menu board or anywhere to try and direct yourself when you walk in. We stood there awkwardly as workers bustled around us just letting us stay clearly confused as to how this works. When a table opened up, I noticed they had QR codes on them and was probably how you ordered. I walked over to scan it and grab a seat, only for someone to (of course NOW) rush over to us to say the table was Reserved. I had tried to make a Reservation as well, but there was no where on their website to do so. So I'm unsure how that worked / realizing how very small the space is, I don't think reservations make much sense. After shoo-ing us away from the table, he still didn't even attempt to help us by clarifying how ordering worked or pointing out there were tables outside, too. After 5 minutes of sheer awkwardness standing in the middle of a busy shipping-container sized place, we left. Maybe their coffee and food is delicious and I wish I could have tried it, but I have no intent on spending my money on poor service and claustrophobia. read more

The girl with dark hair behind the counter was really helpful and is very accommodating with my special request as far as dietary restrictions. She truly went above and beyond. This review is purely based on a cappuccino order and our experience at the cafe. Don't event bother with the coffee there, unable to get basic cappuccino right, and the longest wait for a cup of joe. Just holding the cappuccino in hand felt wrong, was very heavy! Couldn't finish the 8oz of drink! Also the attendant was super hostile, in her attempt to guide us to the ordering kiosk for take out or dine in she just pinned us at the door and left us so confused. My husband wondered for a second if we had entered a coffee shop or the wrong place! Strangest coffee shop experience, I expect something much better at Boro. Won't bother going back. If I could rate this place a zero I would. Beware the table-side app to place your order is broken. The first red flag was my bank notifying me of an attempted fraudulent transaction on my card as I attempted to complete payment for my order. I approved of the order and unknowingly the app charged me 5 times with a 100% tip markup. This needs to be fixed as soon as possible. read more
