They have a bunch of really yummy latte flavors so I had to get their help on which was absolute best, and they were so patient with my many questions LOL we decided on the raspberry truffle (raspberry + chocolate flavors) and it was SOOO good!! All the wonderful fruity flavors but without the artificial taste to it. I didn't get food but it smelled AMAZINGGG in there!! Whatever they were cooking, I should go back and buy 10 of. After lunch elsewhere at the same strip mall, a couple of friends and I came here for coffee/tea and to hang on a Friday afternoon. The place is at the end of the strip mall with a number of vacant spots along the way. I was not optimistic as we passed all the vacancies. However, when we approached the entrance and opened the door, I was impressed by the vibe. The inside is a bit dark, but it's an inviting, comfortable atmosphere. I said to myself, "I could hang here." We each ordered a beverage (some hot and some cold) from diligent folks behind the counter, and we received our drinks promptly. We opted to sit outside on their clean patio. It was a nice day and we enjoyed a nice afternoon, sipping decent, reasonably-priced beverages. I can't speak to the food or pastries. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but I prefer it over Starbucks. We stopped by for a coffee run while in the area and had nitro cold brews. My wife was a big fan of hers. I dissented and found mine a little thin/watery. The salted caramel is a nice touch, however. The space inside is well-list and service is fast. It is also very easy to park given its location. Prices are on par for what you would expect, but cheaper than you'd pay in DC. read more

Third time at this spot. As someone not from this area (my boyfriend is), I have come to appreciate Greenberry's for slightly different reasons than the reviews before me. And I absolutely needed to write a review (in fact this is the first review I have written since my long time hiatus). As stated in other reviews, I do agree that the cafe does have slightly overpriced food and drinks (but at this point the what place doesn't), however, they get the job done. I personally do not think this cafe goes out of its way to advertise itself as an artisanal/chic cafe with funky drinks--definitely more on the no frills side (and also all of the employees are quite young, likely college students who are trying to clock in and clock out...). My boyfriend always gets a large black coffee and I like to try different cold brews (currently love the Toffee & Cream one). Also...you are welcome to bring your own food if you don't like the selection they have, just don't be a weirdo and not order anything from here--it is a business after all. My boyfriend and I appreciate and enjoy cafes where we can grind and knock some work out. We do not necessarily need a quiet spot but a place with ample seating, a hard surface to prop our books/laptops, an outlet nearby, optimal temperature, and of course a clean restroom that is easily accessible. Greenberry's has exactly that. Greenberry's does offer wifi (by the hour upon request, and you have to make a few requests to get a new wifi ticket each time). The wifi is slow. You are certainly better off using a personal hotspot (I have AT&T and it works great!). So I had to write a review for this place simply because it is literally the only place we can rely on to get work done. We have visited almost all of the coffee shops and cafes in the McLean/Tysons area and there is never any seats or space! This place has outdoor seating for the folks who want to gossip away over a cup of coffee and indoor seating for the worker bees like ourselves. read more

I never get a welcoming feel from this place. The young staff are very nice. I have never seen the owner smile in the half decade she has owned it. She has these policies like 1 hour max on internet and one time use passcodes for customers and the speed is slower than dialup. The amount of resources she has spent to make this happen technically must be extraordinary just to make sure people leave. The disposable plate the croissant was served on is available in the same design pattern at Costco. The deflated butter croissant I had definitely looks and tastes like the same stuff as Costco. As far as I know, they don't cook or bake or reheat anything here. This place is not a place where you feel like the owners are trying to make sure the customers have a good visit. I felt so unwelcome that I am driven to write a review about it. It's really a shame too because we all want that local business to support but this is not the place to do it. I think the salaried Starbucks manager down the street cares more about their customers. PS- Be aware of other reviews. Some are just wrong and too positive. We needed a spot to chill for a bit while our car was in the shop. This was right across the street so we decided to check it out. Their specialty drink menu has a great variety. We got an iced hazelnut truffle and hot chocolate turtle. Both were so good and the exact sweetness I prefer! We came on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy but they still had a good amount of tables available. Our drinks came out super quick and it was a great spot to spend time! In a shopping center so there is a parking lot. No bathroom. I asked for a hot tea medium but I'm a large cup so there is room in it. I do this to help it cool down. The cashier said "they charge by the cup" she rang me up for a large tea 3.30$. I said I just want the medium cup then-it was 3.30$ for the medium cup. So I said you don't charge for the cup clearly you charge for the tea bag. (I know this I worked at a coffee shop for a long time, and was an actual barista) she still didn't understand and kept saying it was more. Very annoying experience. Then I ordered a latte and I said can I have a honey latte. She says the honey is out on the counter. So I asked if I could hand it to her before she pours the milk in (so directly to the espresso) so it gets mixed in properly. She said there's no possible way. I said you can hand me the cup with espresso, I'll add it then hand it back for you to add the steamed milk, which she melted down that I would even ask this. I get just a plain latte, milk is completely burnt-terribly steamed and although I was standing right by the register she never called my name when my drinks were ready she didn't even look at me. If I could give this place a 0 I would. Literally go to Starbucks instead, I value local coffee shops I think they usually train their employees as baristas and it's always a good experience and man was I wrong this time. -5/0 stars for them. The food prices here are outrageous. Salads are $9.50, sandwiches, the same. A small sliver of banana bread is $4.50. This is a pleasant neighborhood spot, but nobody is ever eating there. Lower food prices might fix this problem. More people would eat, stay, talk and not go to other options if you consider fixing this. One of my go-to places for coffee. The caramel vanilla latte is my consistent order and it never disappoints. Greenberry's is a little pricey, they're a reliable coffee shop that makes great lattes. I wouldn't recommend it as a place to spend several hours to work or study, except maybe on weekday mornings, since they tend to get pretty busy. There's also outdoor patio space seating. The staff was pleasant but the coffee was lacking. You can barely taste the espresso in the latte - just a lot of milk. The location is accessible and easy to get to in McLean. There's also a cute outdoor connection. Bathrooms are also very well taken care of. I got the chai and it was more sweet than tea but overall decent. Wi-Fi is extremely slow, so I don't recommend using this location as a work from place or using your laptop at all. I do think it's genius that the passwords are only good for hour intervals. I'm sure that helps keep things moving. Would recommend this as more of a pick up location. read more

This place has so much potential, but food, drinks, and customer service falls flat almost every time I visit. It's a great location with a cute outdoor seating section that's covered in the winter. However the drinks are super expensive and generally not very good. I'd love to see Greenberry's get more excited about what they do, such as adding more special/seasonal drinks, expanding the food menu (they have an expansive food menu in Harrisonburg so I know they can do this!), and improving the customer service. I shouldn't feel like a burden for ordering a cold brew when the store is basically empty! McLean has a drought of coffee shops so Greenberry's gets away with being mediocre, but I'd love to see them step it up. You can do this Greenberrys!! read more

These folks know how to make great coffee. We've been here a few times and the drinks are always fantastic. Highlights are the macchiatto and drip coffee. The espresso flavor is bold and the spot of milk mellows the overall taste to a smooth drink. The drip coffee is just well made, every time. Personally, I prefer to let the staff pick between the available coffees and you can always taste the beans. No burnt coffee here! They do serve a limited food menu, but I don't go to a coffeehouse for food, so that doesn't influence my review! read more

I was waiting for my tires to get fixed at the next door Goodyear store where I wanted to relax for a few hours. I went here and ordered a Latte which was really great! The staff were very friendly. The place was bustling with customers and they have tables both inside and outside. I was able to get a lot of work done since the place was very comfortable. I really enjoy having a non-Starbucks option in the neighborhood. I especially like the large outdoor shaded patio in the summer. The coffee is excellent and as well as the customer service. One suggestion for busy times: it is always good to have a menu option in mind when approaching the cash register during busy times as many of us are on the way to work in the morning and doIt you want to hang out and exchange Barista talk with the staff suggest you do it during less busy times as I have always found the employees pleasant and engaging. When I walked to Greenberry I was immediately hit by the strong aroma of well roasted coffee beans and light flavor. I was taken back to a coffee shop in Northampton, MA and for a moment the folks seated drinking, reading, talking, and typing were all professors and students. I paused for a moment near the door and enjoyed the scent as well as the warmth. I walked up to the counter and admitted this was my first Greenberry visit and asked what they might recommend. The gentleman behind the counter asked me couple of preference questions and got to work. The end result was devine! It was early afternoon. I had already had two meeting and was here for my third with another to go after this one. While I like glustering such events into one day for efficiency reasons they can be a mental and energy strain. This latte more than did the trick. It was so smooth and delicious and yet gave me more than the energy I needed to have two more productive meetings. My mouth was happy and I was energized. Honestly, if the woman I was meeting had never arrived it would have been OK with me because I was just enjoying the experience.
