Tomato basil soup - A ceramic bowl filled with tomato basil soup is positioned on a white plate, with a packet of saltines crackers placed next to it. The table surface is wooden, and the soup appears smooth with visible herbs. The setting suggests a casual dining environment, possibly at a restaurant or cafe.

Silver diner always seems to be a hit or miss for me. I think I've cracked the formula for myself though. Whenever I go now I always get the tomato basil soup and so far I've been happy. This time I also got the bruschetta, I didn't care for the cheese it came with but the rest was delicious. I will note that it's usually loud and difficult to get ahold of somebody when you need them.

Outside - The photo depicts the exterior of Silver Diner, a restaurant with a distinctive retro-style facade. The signage includes a circular logo at the top and a prominent black sign with white text stating 'WE BUY FRESH & LOCAL - YOU EAT WELL.' A large window display features an image of a hand holding a plate of food, emphasizing fresh and local ingredients. The building is surrounded by trees and a sidewalk, with a person walking nearby.

The best part of this visit was the service. Samir did an awesome job taking care of my table. I was seated quickly and had high hopes. The diner has a cool retro interior and was well staffed. I ordered and quickly had my shake, I got the S'mores flavored one and it was tasty. I got the Smash Burger and it was very disappointing. First off, it's not a smash burger. If it was, they need to do a better job of training the kitchen how to smash it. It was just a small burger. The bun was way too dense, and the fries were limp and undercooked. I left about half my meal on the plate. Great service, cool venue, subpar food.

Southwest Turkey - A meal featuring a sandwich with sliced turkey, lettuce, tomato, and cheese on toasted baguette bread. The sandwich has small flags with logos inserted into each half. It is served with a side of French fries in a metal cup lined with paper and a bowl of coleslaw containing shredded vegetables and corn. The setting appears to be a casual dining restaurant with glasses of water and other dishes visible in the background.

Came here for dinner one night and it was pretty quiet. There were a lot of open tables. Our waiter was probably below average we had to ask for a lot of things, including silverware, water, the check, etc.. I thought the food was also very average and I thought I could make a better sandwich at home. Not sure I would want to come back again.

Blueberry pistachio pancake - A white plate holds a stack of blueberry pistachio pancakes topped with powdered sugar. The pancakes are golden brown with visible blueberries and pistachios. A small white bowl contains whipped cream, and a small pitcher holds syrup. A person’s hand and part of their arm are visible in the background, with the person wearing a multicolored shirt.

It was my first time at Silver Diner, recommended by a friend. The place was pretty packed during brunch and quite noisy with people chatting and a baby crying. After we were seated, no one came by with water or menus for the first 10 minutes, which was a bit frustrating. The food, however, was not what I expected from a typical diner--it was surprisingly healthy, local, and fresh. I especially enjoyed the fruit; the strawberries were sweet, better than what you usually find at grocery stores.

A breakfast meal features two fried eggs with slightly crispy edges, several strips of cooked bacon, and roasted potato pieces on a white plate. A small cup of strawberries is placed on a separate dish nearby. The meal is served on a dark, speckled countertop.

I would just like to start with this is 100% my bad. I hail from New Jersey... The land of diners... So I went into this diner just ordering my usual not thinking much of it. That was until I got the bill and saw that two eggs bacon and breakfast potatoes with a side of fruit cost $19 lol. And that wasn't including tip yet. In Jersey that would've been an $8 breakfast, maybe $10. I'm not knocking the establishment, I'm more so knocking my naïvety not realizing where I was and that things are just not priced normally in the area haha. So that's not saying I'll never come back. The atmosphere was great, the staff was even better, and the food was delicious! I'll just be more prepared with my wallet next time. So word to the wise if you're coming from out of town... Remember where you are lol. Do as I say not as I do lol. Gotta love DC. Thank you, Silver Diner for the delicious breakfast!

The American Favorite with Chicken Sausage - A breakfast meal on a white plate includes scrambled eggs with yellow and white portions, two sausage patties, and three slices of toasted multigrain bread. A small packet of butter is placed on the plate. In the background, there is a bowl of sliced strawberries, a glass of iced tea, and a napkin. The setting appears to be a casual dining environment, likely at Silver Diner in McLean, VA.

Great ingredients, great vibe, and great staff. Location was very convenient to my hotel. Love the vintage feel. Customer service was outstanding. Don't miss out on this gem.

The service was okay. The food was fair. There wasn't anything overwhelming or delicious about it.

Club Sandwich - The image shows a black plastic meal tray with a club sandwich, French fries in a paper cup, and a side salad. The sandwich is cut into halves, with visible lettuce, tomato, and deli meats, served on toasted bread. The French fries are golden and placed in a white paper cup. The side salad includes chopped lettuce, tomato, and other greens, with toothpick skewers. The tray is lined with branded paper, and the setting appears to be a casual dining or takeout environment.

We did an office order today. Take a look at this photo and see what I got. A club sandwiched with old dirty lettuce and old bread. I will never order anything else from here. They take your money and give you crap.

You can genuinely taste the freshness in the food, and the menu has a lot of variety, which makes it easy to come back and try something new. If you ever catch their fried okra on the menu, GET IT. I cannot recommend it enough. It's that good. I also usually start with their spinach and artichoke dip, which never misses. I've been wanting to try the fried green tomatoes next, so I'll definitely be back for that. They used to have a vegetarian burger that I loved, but since they took it off the menu, I've been trying their other options like the beet/apple-style burger. My go-to move now is swapping the standard bread and getting it on a potato bun instead, it's chef's kiss!! The sauce they use ties everything together perfectly and the fries? I love them every single time . For drinks, I usually go with the hibiscus soda or their soda or the day. It's refreshing and a nice change from the usual options. For dessert, their apple pie is a 10/10. I've had it multiple times and it never disappoints. The key lime pie is more of an 8/10 for me, but still solid. My husband swears by their chocolate cake. The ambiance is another reason I keep coming back. It's alm, cozy, and perfect for a date night or a relaxed dinner. Service can be a little hit or miss. Most visits have been smooth, but the last time we went, things were a bit slower. Our waiter was delayed, and our fries came out a little cold. That said, when it's not busy, service is usually quick and attentive. All in all, I'd give Founding Farmers a solid 4 out of 5. Great food, great vibe, just slight inconsistency with service at times. Definitely still a spot I'll keep in rotation.

We ordered: - the honeydew mocktail (this was so good, I haven't had a mocktail that I enjoyed so much in a long time now) - the assortment of dips (delicious and paired so well with the bread) - a side of toum (this is an essential for me at any restaurant) - the ottoman rice (my family's favorite) - brussel sprouts - cauliflower (our server's favorite) - Adana kepab - the small lamb shoulder dish (really good) - branzino (sooo good and cooked perfectly) - pistachio soufflé (like a chocolate lava cake but with pistachio inside--soooo fab) We absolutely loved everything that we ordered and the bread that they served the food with. The service was so attentive. The vibes were really nice and not overly fancy.
