For Father's Day we went to lunch at First Watch. I have heard good things about it, but perhaps it was how busy it was for the holiday that I wasn't impressed with the food. I wanted eggs sunny side up, but, they said they can't crack eggs so I could get scrambled or poached eggs. I got the poached, however only one of the eggs had some runny yolk, the other was a solid yolk. The potatoes were half undercooked, but the ones that were cooked through were good. The toast was good, but also was not toasted enough. I guess they were trying to get more people in and out quickly so compromised the doneness and quality. The coffee was good. We had an appetizer of the million dollar bacon which was also good. I will probably try again on a day that isn't so chaotic busy for them since things will probably be better then read more

I've been to other First Watch locations and was glad to see they opened a location in Falls Church. It's in the former Whole Foods shopping center and there's plenty of parking so that's always a plus. The staff was very friendly and seemed well-organized even though they're a new location. We received our food quickly, our orders were correct, and they offered us coffee refills. The coffee is tasty, but they somewhat oddly only serve it with room temperature pre-packaged hazelnut or vanilla creamer. Not sure if they have fresh or packaged half and half since I was fine with vanilla, but I'll have to ask next time. I'd recommend they add half and half as an option and offer all the creamers chilled in addition to room temperature. The food was the usual First Watch fare served hot and fresh. The blueberry pancake (yes one since it's the size of the plate and don't get two unless you're truly starving) was as tasty as ever and the bacon and was cooked just right. I did notice this location is nosier than some other ones, maybe due to the high ceilings but it's not a dealbreaker. Prices are a little higher than some other breakfast places but it seems like everything has gone up lately. You can pay your bill on your phone instead of waiting for the cashier so that's a plus when they're busy. This place is a welcome addition to Falls Church and I'll be back again. read more

I've been to many first watch locations and this one put up a fight for the number one spot! Customer service was amazing and our waitress was so sweet and made us feel welcome , checked on us when needed and gave us time to order because we were chatty patties lol, the food was good and thank you to the chef for not over cooking the potatoes , they were chefs kiss, food was hott and very good and the place was so clean as if I cleaned it myself. Even the restrooms, I walked in and immediately felt comfortable handling my business. The self seating area at this location is the best I've seen so far . Keep up the great work ! This place seems to know how to do breakfast right. The surroundings are pleasant. And the wait staff is fine. But when I come, I usually like to order the Tri-fecta ... which comes with 2 eggs (any style), protein side (like bacon or sausage), and either a pancake or waffle. It's kind of hard to go wrong with this combination. I usually order the pork sausage links, but often mix up the carb. I've avoided First Watch for a while, due to their reliance on sugary, carby entrees. Lately I've had good experiences at other locations with altering the omelettes to get better macros. Today was not one of those times. Although I specifically requested "three fried eggs" in place of an omelette, and although they charged me for an extra egg, I received a regular omelette. Based on the impact to my blood sugar, I can say their "omelettes" are laden with pancake batter, or something else carby. Although our server was perfectly kind and accommodating, and offered to adjust the check, my party didn't have time to wait for the order to be remade. If you are watching macros, don't order the omelette. Ambiance was fine. read more

We like this location and the food. However I asked for hot tea and was told the Rituals tea was the only black tea they now offer. The tea bag sat in the hot water for 15 minutes and never steeped. We enjoyed an exceptional Avocado Toast for an appetizer, then I ordered the Healthy Turkey for a light lunch while my husband ordered The Works. We were both delighted by the side of strawberry jam, they offer a truly an excellent menu! Our server (and the bartender), Michelle treated us to complementary shots of the Kale Tonic, which we'll add to the next order. I was stoked to find out a First Watch opened relatively nearby (10-15 min drive). Went in the morning to get some brunch. I was happy to see lovely outdoor seating with headlamps available that'll soon open. Food is always good at First Watch, so this was no exception here. Service could've been better. I had to get up to ask for syrup and was waiting around the kitchen because no one would pay any attention while I waited. By the time we were checked up on, it was too late. I'm only taking a star off for that bc it definitely was not busy. Ambiance is par with any other rustic breakfast joints and has an open kitchen concept. This is a new location that is struggling a bit to get the kinks out towards a smooth operation. There was considerable confusion with getting seated so we opted to sit at the counter. Also, confusion there with people who sat after us getting served first. Then receiving cold food and not being served at the same time and missing menu items. After all of that, the staff was pleasant and apologetic. I may try it again sometimes if in the area and would hope that they get it right by then. read more

I thought it was like a sausage but turn out it was very very small tinny Minch of something which I wasn't sure what it was. Very Disappointing matter. I wish I had a chunky one. Family friendly place with spiked drinks! We were seated by one person that started pouring coffee in cups almost before we were seated, but then confirmed that we actually wanted coffee. I said yes... Perhaps it was complimentary house coffee? We ordered, but service was lackluster to inexcusable: greeting and taking orders from others that were seated after us, my sister greeted the hostess that turned out to be our actual waitress, but simply was met with 'for how many?' She attempted to collect my sister's plate and clearly she was not finished, gave us our check that no one asked for. We weren't there very long as we had to get moving, but it was distasteful. Perhaps she was ready to end her shift? I was trying to extend grace in the situation, but it makes for this unfortunate review. The menu had great variety, the food was ok and fit the bill. I would give it negative star if I could!!!!!! One star is a complement already. Worst. Experience. Ever. They told us 20-30 minutes. We waited over an hour with no update while empty tables just sat there. When we finally asked, the waiter mumbled some garbage about the kitchen being backed up -- but didn't bother telling anyone. Let me start by saying how much I like First Watch. The food is consistently good, and we were genuinely excited when this location opened near our home. However, our last two visits have reinforced the feeling that something at this location is a bit off. To illustrate, I'll focus on our visit today. We arrived shortly after 1 PM and were promptly seated. We requested outdoor seating because, like other First Watch locations I've visited, the interior can be quite loud. Unfortunately, our hostess didn't have rolled silverware at her station and was therefore unable to provide it when seating us, as is usually the case. Our server, Kevin R., seemed somewhat disengaged and didn't notice the missing silverware either. When our food arrived, my wife's avocado toast came without the usual lemon slice, and my skillet was missing the side of jam. I'm not sure whether this was a front- or back-of-house oversight. We asked the food runner for silverware and watched our meals grow cold while waiting. To his credit, the food runner eventually brought both the silverware and the missing items, and he did a good job making up for what the waiter missed. When our waiter finally returned to check on us, I mentioned my disappointment about the situation. He had no real response--just a distant stare toward the parking lot. In my opinion, this points to a management issue on the front-of-house side. The hostess should be properly equipped, the waitstaff should be attentive and engaged, and a manager should be visible and responsive when problems arise. At other restaurants--Sweetwater Tavern, for example--a manager would typically stop by to acknowledge and apologize for such an issue. For context, I was raised in the restaurant business, and my father was a chef. I understand how tight margins can be, and I'm not writing this in search of free food or coupons. I'm sharing this feedback solely in hopes that management takes it constructively and makes the adjustments needed to ensure this location succeeds. We truly want it to thrive and become the kind of reliable neighborhood spot First Watch is known for. read more

Coffee was excellent. Service was wonderful. Our food left a lot to be desired. I ordered the chickichanga, which is supposed to come with Vera Cruz sauce (a tomato-based sauce with garlic, chilis, capers, and olives). What came on it was a lemony cream sauce, which was a flavor clash with spicy chicken and chorizo. My partner ordered eggs Benedict and the hollandaise was short on flavor. I'm concern about this location. Everything went wrong today. After we waited nearly 40 minutes the waiter took our order. We waited for nearly 35 minutes before it came out. Then the food was cold and he brought the wrong pancake. We spoke to Reno one of the manager but he did not empathize with us or appeared to care. Regular Customer of First Watch, Fall Church, VA. HOWEVER, last THREE times I have ordered delivary they have shorted my order. First two, I let slide. Today, I called about my missing food only to get the run around frpm the Manager of Duty. "Nothing I can do" was his responce. I asked to for the name and number of the Area Manager, but was told that informaiton cannot be given out. Three times in a row shorting my order from the same resturant is either 1) gross imcompetence or 2) a systemtic plan to defraud and rip off their customers.
