A seriously popular place for a reason! We came here for our first time craving some good pizza & had to wait about 45 minutes to get seated, so be aware of the popularity. This place is known as one of the best places to get Detroit style pizza. However, they NY pizza style options and I usually prefer NY style, and I just wasn't in the mood for thicker dough. We got a NY style pepperoni & sausage with extra cheese & sauce. I really liked the pizza- in my opinion it's the best I've had so far in Colorado. It was greasy but I like it like that, my wife also liked it at a 4 star level. Once we got seated it to another 20 minutes or more to get the pizza. The waitress was super nice. She recommended we try the Detroit style next time, and said it's extra special- I just may. The ambiance is nice, a little hipsterish. First off, food is consistently great. We've been in a handful of times and have also ordered delivery. Bar staff is always extremely personable, knowledgeable, and attentive. Patrick took great care of us today. The man who did our last delivery went above and beyond as well. We were in for lunch today just before noon. Management arrived and immediately started b*tching at staff right in front of us. She interrupted our conversation various times, not once acknowledging us as customers and seemed to be on quite a power trip. If I'm sitting at the bar having $100+ lunch and chatting with an employee, have a little respect and learn some floor presence. Idk I like blue pan but last few times we've gotten it delivered it has not been good. We got it delivered tonight, it took an hour and a half and arrived cold. Last time they forgot the dressing to our salad. Going down in quality. They said next time they would take care of us, so I guess that meant getting cold pizza. Let me say that I am not a fan of pizza but wow, I crave blue pan on a daily basis. Not only can you mix and match, you can customize so I add the whipped ricotta to the little rose and it is truly the best pizza ever. If you're craving thicker, doughy pizza goodness, Blue Pan's Detroit style pizza's are the best in Denver. I've had several of their Detroit style specialty pizzas and while controversial - because it has pineapple on it - the "Sweetie Pie" remains my favorite. I've never dined in, only done take out and the quality of the pizzas is still top tier, even after surviving a 20 minute car ride home. Unlike many of the other reviewers, we were not happy with our order (and the prices were too high for what we got). The staff was very nice. We normally love Detroit style pizza but the two full-sized we ordered were very different than any Detroit pizza I have eaten. The crust was very fluffy and the edge of the pizza tasted like burnt cheese - neither of which we liked. The flavors were not distinct enough, e.g. the Gold Hill was cloying sweet and needs vegetables to provide a sharp contrast against all of that sugar-taste. I have been dying to come to this place since I moved here since it was so highly recommended by everyone I met, and it did not disappoint! Be warned there will be a wait if you are coming at regular dinner hours and there seems to be a lot of takeout at the same time. We got bar seats right away for 2 people, otherwise, there is generally a 45-minute wait. The staff was so good! Absolutely loved their recommendations and even talked to us about other restaurants they loved, which I am always down for a good recommendation from other foodies. Great beer selections and suuuper refreshing handmade craft cocktails I haven't seen anywhere else that aren't too sweet. Definitely try the Cucumber Honey Hound, yuuuum! There are options for certain pizzas here, so if Detroit isn't your style, there are pies that come in the classic NY style as well. Stopped by with a friend on a Sunday afternoon for some post-shopping pizza. The restaurant was half empty and seated us right away. I ended up getting their signature Brooklyn Bridge pizza. It was delicious but it's the kind of meal you might need a nap after. The dough is so fluffy, crispy and oily. The sauce is slightly tangy and sweet. Were visiting from California and decided to stop here for lunch before leaving town. And I mean it when I say this is some of the most delicious pizza Ive had! I was in New York earlier this year and this far exceeds what I had there! The minute we sat down at the bar we were greeted and waters were set out for us. We've had a few experiences at this location. Parking has been easy despite not having a parking lot that I know of. Wait times are what they are. I would shoot for an off time or call ahead and carry out aka dashboard pizza. The restaurant is not that big and the drafts are a plenty. I'm sure the beer is good, but I'm talking about the cold coming in every time someone opens and closes the door. We kept our coats on during one particular visit. Not really my favorite way to eat. The arancini was high on my "to try" list and it was not exciting. No meat inside and the portion was definitely small plate-esque. But the Chicago Cracker Thin Crust is wonderful here!!! It's done just right. Flavor is great. Portion is perfect for the price point. Toppings are high quality. This location did have some accuracy issues (maybe write down the order and you won't have to redo it multiple times). But they eventually got the details right and we ended up with leftovers from the wrong pizzas (although on try number three, we both backed away from the table, didn't touch it and suggested maybe the staff was hungry). One of my biggest qualms with pizzerias is when they go so easy on the toppings that you get maybe one or two bites that actually contain the toppings you ordered... let me tell you, Blue Pan does no such thing...if your Blue Pan pizza is supposed to come with roasted peppers and feta, you are getting those flavors in [almost] each and every bite! I had never had Detroit-style pizza, and the ability to order two different halves for no additional cost is an indecisive orderer's dream. I went with a small Detroit style, one half 3-1-3 and one half San Marzano Pesto chicken. Both halves were packed with flavor... I truly couldn't decide which I liked better. The buttery, cheesy, and crispy crust corners instantly turned me into a Detroit-style pizza lover. Blue Pan's pizzas are on the pricier end, but with the amount of toppings they throw on there, one small pizza can fairly easily feed two people. I also ordered a side arugula salad, which was tasty, but frankly, pretty overpriced for a side salad and I will probably just throw a salad together myself next time. Amazing Detroit style pizza, the crust is the star of the show. I had the Margarita pizza, with a great balance of cheese, sauce, and basil. I'm getting hungry again just thinking about it! You know a place is good not only when it's busy but also when you have trouble making up your mind, are glad with what you ordered, and see so many other things on the menu for next time. Came with two little ones so we were nervous about the seating situation but since we came right around the time they opened we got the best little spot with plenty of room for us to have diaper bag, stroller, and high chair without feeling over crowded. Detroit style pizza? Detroit style pizza! It is officially our favorite pizza. So when I say this is like a pan pizza from Pizza Hut don't get me wrong. It is superior! The pizza is made to order and comes in small and large. Many of their specialty pizzas only have one size. Small with four pieces or I believe large was six. Small pieces are big enough for a big appetite! I would say I was starving and I could only eat two pieces. My husband was the same. So a small pizza for two hungry people who aren't going to try to push their limit would be perfect. The ambiance is nice. It's on a walkable street with lots of traffic to take in The windows are open. And the staff is super friendly! They have drinks. It can be very loud. So it may not be the place for a romantic meal. Or an intimate conversation with a friend. I would definitely come here again! I did not know Detroit style pizza existed. This place does it well with very high quality ingredients.
