As pictured, the slices here are huge! The pizza of the month had sausage, some kind of veggie (spinach?), with I think also onion and white sauce -- I couldn't see a description. The sausage had fennel seeds in it that added a wonderful fragrance. The white sauce was really good as well. The garlic knots are warm, buttery, and filled with garlic and go really well with the tomato sauce that it comes with. When I first saw this, I thought that it was either a joke, or he was maybe the soda machine repairman who they inadvertently allowed into the kitchen. I tried not to lose my appetite. We stopped here for a quick bite before a concert down the street and were very pleased with the food! They have 2 floors, the first floor is a to-go station and the second floor is sit down with a waitress and full bar. The pizzas are pre-made, my freind has a dairy sensitivity and wanted light cheese but they unfortunately don't offer that because they are pre-made. There are no dairy free options but she still loved her pizza. The single slices are huge but we were very hungry so we got 2 slices each, we ate most of it all. They have so many unique pairings and the food was made quickly. Overall we enjoyed our food, it was delicious and a great spot! Limited seating area, but always busy in this cap hill/uptown neighborhood. They have a ton of options - lots are vegetarian friendly. Crust is the good crispy, thin crust and the ratios of sauce-cheese-toppings are great. As you can tell from the photos the slices are big, so at $4-$6 each it's a pretty solid deal. We got the buffalo chicken slice and grandma slice. I heart Sliceworks. Outside of New Jersey or New York it seems like by-the-slice places with this kind of variety are hard to come by and any restaurant that lets you choose a little bit of whatever you want is alright in my book. I tried a vodka slice and a tomato pesto slice. Both on the relatively classic side of the spectrum and both delivered on the promise of those simple, delicious flavors. The crust is the kind that's made for folding in half - a little crisp on the bottom but still flexible. Toppings are ample and not too greasy. At this particular location they have two floors with the bottom being counter service and the upper, full service. The bartender/waiter on staff that night was great and the upstairs offers large windows through which to watch the happenings down on the street. This is a great local Denver chain to visit but be warned if you're not from around here - some people would call this area "rough" and you will almost certainly see some unhoused people around these parts so if that disturbs you, look beyond Colfax. read more

Sliceworks is always a great late-night food spot. They're quick and in my experience they usually have a lot of options for different kinds of pizza. Usually pizza places have most of the same thing but they really mix it up here. The margs are also good here! This place alright, I had high expectations considering the place says New York Style Pizza written all over. I was expecting more or less another pizza restaurant I've been to in San Diego. They have the perfect sized slices unlike this place. The slices are very very large, a bit doughy since they are so big and crispy toward the crust of the slice. The only thing I did actually enjoy were the garlic knots. The employees are friendly and helpful. They recommend a pizza with grape jelly on top of it... yuck yuck but the salty sweet lovers apparently love it. I only have one answer. Slice Works.. My favorite Italian sandwich is either a chicken, meatball, or sausage parmesan, My wife was Sicilian. from little Italy in New York. I know what a good sandwich tastes and looks like. I asked all the right questions before I ordered the chicken parm, is it a fresh chicken breast. Freshly made, is it deep fried or cooked in the oven. Is it pretty tender to chew. It was definitely overcooked, crusty all around the edge kind of overcooked. I asked for a little extra sauce and he gave me a little plastic cup of PIZZA sauce unheated to put on I was not in the mood for an argument. And was very hungry. So I decided to eat half the sandwich. The chicken was as thin as a slice of pizza. Not good, the taste. Was so so and again tough to chew. $17 with a Dr Pepper. The thing that really upsets me is. I could not send a direct message to their website. It would not take it, and I left 2 voicemails with all my contact information and as of Saturday they have not returned my call. My fiancé and I stopped in after the Queens Ball. I have not been downtown at night in several years. We drove passed the Slice Works and just had to stop in. The staff was incredibly friendly. The food was fresh and incredible. There are a few dozen pizza choices as well as garlic knots and desserts. We actually received free garlic knots for checking in on Yelp. Nice little perk for sure. This would be a textbook five rating minus a situation I have come to despise and a primary reason I avoid downtown. The homeless are milling all around this place. While inside and eating our meal that we were enjoying, a homeless man came in and started harassing people for money. He stood right next to me and asked me to give him money or buy him food. The staff did nothing to alleviate my discomfort nor the situation. It was happening right in front of them and they just ignored it.
