Mora Pizza is hands down the best vegan Italian food in the city. The food is consistently delicious and always hits the spot! While the wait can sometimes be long, the pizza is absolutely worth it! We drive 45 mins just for this pizza because it's simply the best. My suggestion - try the barbecue chicken and you won't be disappointed! Mora pizza is a regular on our list now. We first started going here when they just opened and we're here probably weekly now. As someone who isn't vegan (and really does love meat!) this place is absolutely wonderful. You honestly wouldn't even realize his foods are 100% vegan unless you knew. The chicken parm pizza and the Philly cheesesteak sub are probably my favorites but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The weekly specials are always unique and "outside of the box" and I'm always so excited to try them. I can't wait for Mora to open up their own independent restaurant, which sounds like it'll be soon! Right now, it's located in a tiny Greek restaurant next to a Hookah bar, so the location isn't ideal but we'll take whatever we can get for this pizza. Jonathan (the owner) is absolutely fantastic and is always making time to greet us and engage in conversation even with the 484749+ pending orders he has. Our only complaint is the wait time, but we expect this now. When they tell us an hour, we give them an hour and a half. Order early and be patient! He's a one (someone's two) man show! You will think your walking into the pita grill but that's Moras pizza, and yes they are working on a sign remember it's a work in progress so don't judge until you eat the food! the inside is small and has a few tables pet friendly which is a plus for me! The wait time was around 20-25 minutes our order was two slices of pizza one pepperoni, and one chicken and waffle with a Philly cheese to share and one drink on the side total came out to around $30 they really take time to perfect the food and definitely added love to the plate it's hard getting quality vegan pizza in Denver. I'm so glad I didn't listen to the bad reviews on here because generally speaking vegan pizza CAN be weird and it can feel like a risk ordering a whole pie that you havent gotten to try first. Well let me assure you - this pizza is bomb! The place we were going to order from unexpectedly closed permanently and we had people coming over for our ENGAGEMENT PARTY (I'm vegan, my partner is not, but a bunch of our guests are vegan) so we were scrambling. We found Mora Pizza and ordered three 18" pizzas (cheese, veggie, and meatball) and garlic knots. Not only was is good, this is the BEST VEGAN PIZZA we've ever had. VEGANS REJOICE!!! There is a pizzaria with all the works, for US!!! OK, so I'm a Jersey boy. When I was still there I would travel into NY just for the food, especially pizza! The crust, ugh.... that NY dough. Then I became a Vegan & it seemed all hope was lost. About 9 years ago I moved to Portland OR, supposedly 'the best place to be a hungry vegan'. And you know what, it wasn't bad. They had everything you could ask for veganized, & everything seemed alright, until I realized I hadn't found a pizzaria worth writing home about. Then I did... Rudy's pizzaria. ugh. They have some of the best topping pizza I've ever had. But it always lacked something... the dough. For over a decade I have searched for this "perfect Vegan pizza". Then I moved to Denver. The altitude is still bothering me. The weather is taking some getting used to. Can't ride a bike because everything is uphill & I am not in any shape to attempt to do so. What I'm saying is, things are just OK, for now. THEN I FOUND OUT ABOUT MORA. They popped up on my HappyCow app & decided to try it. I ordered from Mora (a fantastic human being, no BS) an order of 'cheesy meatballs', a 'chicken' parm Stromboli & he threw me a slice while waiting for my food to finish up. GOOD. GOD. I think I've finally found it. GREAT TOPPINGS, DELICIOUS SAUCE, and wait, here's the real kicker... THAT CRUST. It tastes like he flies in dough in from NY! My first bite reminded me of being a teenager eating in NYC. I highly recommend it to both Vegans & non-Vegans alike. Go visit Mora, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!! It's a tiny spot and you would never think they offer vegan pizza from the outside window/signage but if you know, you know. The owner is super friendly and you can tell he aims to be the best at what he does. And I really think his pizza reflects all his hard work. I've been a vegan since 2011 and his pizza is hands down the best I've ever had. I unfortunately live in So Cal but every time I visit Denver, which is often bc I have family here, I will want to eat here. The gentleman in the kitchen informed us that we were, indeed, in the right place (despite the lack of signage or correct menu on display). But you peep the menu online and order at the food window. It's located in an old Gyros Shop with no signage that it's Mora's Pizza so I walked by it about 3 times before finally going in to ask if it was the right spot. I have been really disappointed with the vegan pizza selection out here so I was really hopeful about this place and I was not disappointed. (As a born and bread New Yorker I mean business about my pizza.) I ordered the Buffalo chicken slice, a regular cheese slice and the cheesy meatballs appetizer. The buff chix slice was a must try! It was so good I made my carnivore boyfriend try it and he liked it so much he said he would share a pie of it with me next time!! The cheesy meatballs were soooo good. A meal I didn't even realize I was missing in my life. It really accentuates how amazing there red sauce is and how everything is made to perfection. Between the vegan meat and the vegan cheese nothing was "fake" tasting at all which I really appreciated. The cheese slice was just ok in all honestly. But I threw some of my meatballs on it and it was a game changer! Guess I have to order the meatball parm slice next time. I will be returning ASAP to try even more! Pro Tip: Make sure you call ahead to order and give them some time. My simple order took 30 minutes, and I'm sure a full pie would take even longer to make. I am a long time vegan and the last thing I want is to write a bad review for a vegan restaurant, however the food was terrible. I got a whole pie of the white pizza to go. The cheese had the strangest wet and gloopy texture, the only flavor was oregano, and it was piled high. I had to scrape most of it off to eat it. I thought the dough was the redeeming factor until I got to the crust which was completely raw and inedible. Unfortunately I will not be ordering from here again and cannot recommend it to anyone. read more
