Blue Pan Pizza - Congress Park: Not Recommended…read more Unfortunately, Blue Pan Pizza did not live up to the hype for us. We spent nearly $100, but the food was surprisingly bland and under-seasoned. We started with the meatballs, which tasted as though they might have been frozen. We also ordered the spinach and artichoke dip, but it was runny and lacked flavor. Even the chips couldn't save it, lol. My partner makes a much better version at home--and hers tastes like it was made with love. There really is a difference. For our main course, we ordered a Supreme Detroit-style pizza. Since I'm from New York, it reminded me more of a Sicilian-style pizza, which I usually enjoy. Unfortunately, the cheese was extremely dry against the bread, and even the ranch couldn't help. Also, why do people eat pizza with a fork and knife? Maybe I was raised like a savage in New York, but you're supposed to pick up a slice, fold it, and eat it. The restaurant was extremely crowded, and the overall experience felt more like a process of getting people in, serving them, and getting them out than creating an enjoyable dining experience. The food didn't seem to be prepared with much care or attention; it felt more like an assembly line. We also felt somewhat out of place in the restaurant. That alone wouldn't have been an issue, but combined with the food, crowd, and overall atmosphere, it simply didn't feel like our kind of place. For nearly $100, I expected significantly better food, flavor, and service. Honestly, I've enjoyed pizza from Papa Murphy's, Cicis, Pizza Hut, Papa John's, Sam's Club, Costco, Mondo's, and Marco's more. If you're looking for great pizza, I personally wouldn't recommend Blue Pan Pizza in Congress Park. And if you're going for the ambiance, I wouldn't recommend it for that either. Bottom line: Expensive, under-seasoned, overcrowded, and disappointing. Blue Pan Pizza may be popular, but it definitely wasn't for us. NO garlic power, NO pepper, NO oregano, NO onion powder, NO Italian seasoning, NO NOTHING!!!!!

When I returned home after that trip I was sad because I thought I'd never be back and I might never have Blue Pan again or get to see a show in Red Rocks again. Last week I was lucky enough to return to Denver to again see a show at Red Rocks but I swear I was more excited to go back to Blue Pan. It was literally my first stop when I got into town. I said it before in my review of the other Blue Pan across town but it's quite literally the best pizza I've ever had. My daughter was with me this trip and she's not a fan of thicker pizzas. She ended up eating two pieces herself. You need to go try this place it is just too good to pass up. Now I have to come up with another reason to visit Denver because I don't want this to be the last time I've had Blue Pan pizza.

Do you ever come into a place that is most likely awesome but it's just having a bad day?…read more I think that was my experience here, which is a bit of a drag since I'll probably never make it back (I live in California which is a bit of a trek) The bad - slow service, attitude from the waitress when we asked for an update on our food, wrong orders and a ton of flies buzzing around. The good - the pizza was really freaking good. Tried both the Parma Italiana and Diavola and both were outstanding (and I don't typically enjoy Detroit style thick pizza). The place has a cool ambiance, good music and plenty of beverage options. So yeah I'm gonna guess I just came here on the wrong day.

However, when I saw the reviews and photos of Marco's pizza, I HAD to try it! Reading back at old reviews, it seems like 2025 was a bad year with terrible customer service, poor quality food, and uncleanliness. It seems like changes have been made since then because our experience was great! We ordered the Carne and Margherita Bufala pizzas to share amongst our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 little boys). The pizzas are pretty big, but since the crust is thin, our family devoured everything with my husband and I feeling still a bit hungry after. I think I could seriously have eaten an entire pizza by myself. This is just to help you decide on how to order; if you're hungry, get a whole pizza for yourself. Both pizzas were really good. I did like the Margherita pizza more than the Carne. The Carne tasted a bit more salty comparatively. Since I love basil, I do wish both pizzas had more of it. Side note: if price is a deterrent, then get the regular Margherita pizza. Maybe it's just me, but I couldn't tell the difference between bufala mozzarella vs regular mozzarella. Perhaps if I ate them side by side to compare then I could. Furthermore, I saw somewhere that they have a Tuesday special where the Margherita pizzas are 50% off! The price of the pizzas are a tad bit high, but I think it's worth it since the restaurant uses fresh and high quality ingredients. This place is definitely worth a try. It may not be a place where you would eat regularly with your family, but it's great for a special occasion or date night. Overall, our family really enjoyed Marco's and appreciated that they were able to bring us a little bit of Italy. (: We accidentally left our plastic bottle of water at our table and when we left, one of the waiters ran out of the restaurant to give it back to us! Honestly, he could have thrown it away, but he didn't. I still couldn't believe that he got our attention to return it to us. I love the thought and integrity of the act. Thank you!

And let me tell you something: Marco's is better than the actual Naples pizza I ate. And it's not even close. Oh, and I now eat Gluten (sometimes pronounced Glutron) Free. When the pizza was delivered to our hotel in downtown Denver, I was skeptical. Was the crust truly Gluten (or Glutron) Free? I checked the order confirmation, and saw the handwritten note on the box claiming the pizza was Gluten / Glutron Free. Then I devoured with abandon. I cannot overstate how incredible the Glutron (or Gluten) Free pizza crust was. Even the Gluten Free model was superior to the actual Naples glutened pizza I ate those many years ago. However, the real test of a Gluten Free pizza is the aftermath. Here I am. 24 Hours later feeling great.

We decided to go classic and went with their Daisy (dinapoli tomato, mozzarella, basil, evoo). Pizza was made quickly and was expertly crafted and arrived steaming hot. The tomatoes used in the sauce was the most flavorful pizza sauce I have ever had, rich! The high quality of flavor continued with the mozzarella, basil, and olive oil too. Only real knock I could think of was the distribution of basil leading to some pieces not having any on it. Crispy and perfectly cooked pizza that was an outstanding meal! If you are looking for a high-quality pizza this is a spot worth going to! We would definitely return!

Actually, this spot is centrally located, on the edge of Uptown and Five Points, right between City Park and the Central Business District. There's also a nice parking lot. I ordered the Supreme with tomato sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, Italian sausage, red onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, and kalamata olives. I found it very average. I collected it promptly at the time specified, but the crust was very soggy and too droopy to pick up a slice. The toppings were OK, but nothing special. The amount of tomato sauce was a little light for my taste and it was very bland. The same with the cheese. I had heard good things about this place, but there is far superior pizza to be had in Denver these days. I was not impressed. The area is not well-lighted and it's kind of creepy at night. So is the building. The staff was friendly and they did bring me my takeout box promptly.

I have not had a bad meal here and have tried everything from meatballs to salads to pastas and pizzas. Textures were all great and freshness was there - it just depends on your personal preferences for flavors and toppings. My only minor critiques are that the garlic bread barely has a hint of garlic - it's really just a parmesan rustic toast. Overall still good but should be listed as a cheese bread maybe. I also think the drinks I've had there were just ok; nothing outstanding but also nothing bad. But food quality outranks drink quality any day for me when assessing a restaurant.

Our server was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions about portion sizes and what ingredients were in each item. We ordered the garlic bread and salad to share and I got the Cacio e Pepe full size. I didn't eat the salad but my friends really liked it! The garlic bread was AMAZING! Definitely the talk of the night! It's only three slices and it was a little pricy but seemed worth it. The full-size Cacio e Pepe was creamy and delicious! I didn't finish it all intentionally because I wanted to take the rest for lunch tomorrow. I would definitely suggest this one to anyone! At the bottom of the menu, it does say that a 20% service fee is added onto everyone's bill and that this is not a tip. I think it's important to point this out because some people might misinterpret it so definitely take that as you will.
