Absolutely love it here!! Every single option I've tried on their menu has yet to disappoint, typically finishing every morsel of food that comes my way! I will say, though it is a chicken spot, the shrimp burger is my hands down favorite. If you haven't tried it yet, go there as soon as possible! The location is small, but cute little area in the front to eat if you want, the staff is extremely friendly, the only problem I have is limited parking, but not anywhere near a big enough deterrent from coming back. Absolutely recommend!

This review is purely on their boneless Heaven medium box. Going in, I expected one thing and came out with another. I expected the boneless chicken to be like any other Korean fried chicken joint. The chicken to be nicely breaded fried and smothered through in sauce. What I got was a box of fried chicken drizzled with sauce - not enough to coat all the pieces. It would've been better to have the sauce on the side and just dip it like I would a chicken nugget. The sauces were good but ultimately the current set up leaves some pieces with no sauce. My favorite sauces were the classic soy garlic and sos Korean spicy. Overall I'd probably recommend you selecting something else on the menu as this entree was a pass for me. Service on the other hand was great. The guy working was friendly and even offered more sauces to us but I suppose that normally would've cost extra.

Found this random hole in the wall joint while looking for some Korean fried chicken. Got like a box of 5 different boneless wings box. There must have been like 25-30 wings for $20. Great value. The sauces are amazing too. Particularly the citrus honey - it's their best flavor. Would def like to try it on their fried chicken itself. Their other sauces were great too. Box comes with a side and we got fries and just standard fries. There's a couple small tables in an enclosed outdoor section and some stools.

This is a small little gem I found through a Yelp NJ post on instagram. Everything in the post was true- & as the post said, do not leave without trying the fried chicken!! My co-worker and I were in the area and decided to take advantage and visit Bloom Chicken. The inside is small, with a covered porch-like dining area that is intimate, casual and cozy. When you go in there is really only room for the kitchen and ordering area. We ordered our food and the man who helped us asked if we were staying. We were, and it was a cold and rainy day so he helped us with setting up a heater near our table and was very attentive and polite, it really felt like making us feel welcome was his # 1 priority. My coworker ordered the beef bulgogi cup bap which had thin sliced bulgogi, kimchi fried rice, corn, pickled onions, & a fried egg to top it all off. She really enjoyed it, the rice had a kick and she's sensitive to spice but had no issues! I ordered the bulgogi burger and it was unlike anything I've ever had before! The mesh of flavors was amazing and the side of fries were perfectly seasoned, hot & crispy. It was a little messy but let's face it, messy food usually tastes best! We didn't want to visit Bloom Chicken and not get their chicken, so we split a small order of the boneless crispy wings in the soy garlic sauce. *chefs kiss* they were saucy, crispy and my word the portion was GENEROUS!

Ordered take out and OH EM GEE. I could've have gotten better wings! IMO, much better than Pek Pek chicken or Bon Chon! I placed my order online and my husband went to pick up and they made it FRESH while he was there. At first I was like, what's the point of ordering online if they're just gonna cook it when he's there? But trust me, well worth it! I would suggest calling them directly to place an order rather than ordering online to save you some $$! The wings had the right amount of crispiness and the chicken was SO juicy. I ordered them plain with the sauce on the side (lots of options) and a side of fries. I'm a crispy French fries kinda person so the crispiness of EVERYTHING was straight up my ally! They have other food options as well and I'll definitely be going back to try their shrimp burger...and all the other menu items as well! Highly recommend !

I've been to this place three times and each one the food has not been good, it has been outstanding! Here is why: A) They vent their boxes. You have to let the steam escape so the food doesn't get soggy. I unexpectedly had to wait 25 minutes to eat after I picked up my order and the fries were still crispy AF. Other businesses, are you listening? B) They don't skimp on the flavor or portions. I've only seen a shrimp burger a couple of times on other menus but never this thick and well-balanced. The coleslaw was so good, just a hint of heat but great wasabi essence. C) Service is always super friendly and enthusiastic when I pick up and there's a nice vibe in the shop. I've gotten their fried chicken, monster chicken sandwich and now the shrimp burger. Trying to make my way through the menu so their bowls will be next.

As a lover of Korean fried chicken, any time I drive by a kfc place that I've never tried before, I add it to my to-do list. I finally had the chance to try Bloom Chicken and I can confidently say that I'll be visiting this place on a fairly regular basis. I got a large boneless chicken box, which comes with five varieties of boneless chicken, plus fries. It was plenty of food for four people, and the chicken was excellent. It was juicy, flavorful, and tender. I also tried the kale salad, which was good but not a must-get.

Bada Bing, Bada Bloom! A definite must try in my book. Everything was delicious and freshly made. The Shrimp Burgers are made with fresh shrimp that the chef chops up every morning. Thick, juicy and flavorful shrimp patty topped with wasabi coleslaw, lettuce and drizzled with garlic aioli. The Drumsticks are juicy, crispy and oh so tender. Every bite, scrumptious. The Bulgogi Burger oozing with korean style marinated thin slices of tender beef, cheese sauce, lettuce and drizzled horseradish aioli. The french fries were crispy and flavorful. A perfect companion that is included with the burgers. Portions were very generous. Customer service with top notch. Definitely coming back for more.

Stopped by this place more than a few times and haven't tried the fried chicken yet. Don't know why, but each time, I visited, I wasn't in the mood for fried chicken, but I was in the mood for a rice dish. I tried both the bulgogi with kimchi fried rice and the spicy chicken cup bap. Both were pretty good, although the bulgogi with kimchi fried rice was a bit better. I usually don't eat kimchi fried rice with bulgogi, I eat it with white rice, but the combination was pretty good. One of these days, I'll be back for the fried chicken.

Completely blown away by all the Korean inspired flavors in the chicken wings and boneless wings. Everything I ate was absolutely delicious. The wings are a must try. The boneless wing sampler box had 5 flavors ( soy garlic , sweet and spicy, Korean BBQ, SOS Spicy, and Citrus Honey) with a side of dumplings or side of your choice. I got the Large and it was way too much for 2 people. I also tried the Monster Spicy Chicken Sandwich which was also tender crispy fried chicken with spicy sauce, cheese sauce , lettuce , pickled onion , and Horseradish Aioli , truffle fries on the side were fresh and crispy also with white truffle oil , and Parmesan cheese. Coleslaw on side was fresh and crunchy. Must try the wings here. Friendly , fast service. Not much room to sit , maybe 6-7 seats. Seems like mostly takeout. Would also like to try their other location in Verona NJ.

Once I found out that Bloom in Verona, nj was opening a chicken wing spot I knew I had to go. The wings at the original location were so good and I was definitely missing them. We ended up ordering miso bbq wings and soy/garlic wings along with kimchi fried rice. We were between the miso bbq and the Korean bbq sauce and we highly preferred the miso bbq. The wings are perfect: crunchy, sauced well and juicy. The kimchi fried rice was a perfect accompaniment to the wings. Definitely want to try all the other wings next time I go. read more

Incredible spot a block from the hospital. Salads, soups, sandwiches, bowls, and wings. It has a small menu but there's plenty of options for anyone, including vegetarian items! The staff were so sweet and gave me a delicious cup of butternut squash soup while I waited for them to prep my food. They were also so excited to hear that I had been to Bloom in Verona, their sister restaurant! Bloom Chicken has a small seating area in the front, very cute. Will definitely be back if I'm in the area or at the hospital again! read more

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! I always come back for the shrimp burger and boneless chicken. The shrimp burger stays juicy and crispy, even after a 30-minute drive home. The soy sauce boneless chicken is a must-try--it's my kids' favorite, and we love mixing it with the crispy option and a side of SOS sauce. Perfect for movie nights with beer--you won't stop eating! If you don't like sauce-tossed chicken, get the crispy with sauce on the side. Also, their crispy spicy rice cake (not too spicy!) is a hidden gem. Definitely worth trying! read more

OMGGGG these are some of the best Korean Wings I have ever tasted What makes them good is the quality and taste of the chicken. They don't just get generic chicken wings. I brought the beef and kimchi rice along with different flavors of wings. I also got a extra side of beets. I am going back for the shrimp burger and dumplings. read more

Went to bloom chicken in Hackensack and got the wing lunch special which came with 5 wings and fries. also got the Korean dumplings, the dumplings were really good, but the chicken was the best Korean chicken i ever had!! also put sos hot sauce on them. service was exceptional! will definitely be going back!! read more

Great Korean fried chicken! It's literally right next to Hackensack Meridien Hospital too, which makes it convenient if you work at the hospital (I do not). It's a small shop with a single counter and one person working behind the counter. I placed a take out order using their online system off of their website. The person behind the counter was quite shocked by my order because I had placed requests to take out all of the spicy sauces, etc from my meal. So he very kindly asked me for preferences while I stood there and he expertly catered a very tasty non-spicy meal for my family. (Quite honestly, I am partly writing this review to remember what to order next time). I ordered: - Chicken Mayo Cup Bap - Chicken rice bowl. Took out the wasabi aioli and replaced with soy garlic. Tasted amazing. - Three drumsticks with french fries - used miso barbeque sauce; miso cuts into the tanginess of the bbq and it actually worked pretty well. - Bulgogi taco - took out the wasabi coleslaw and gochujang aioli - think it probably needed something heh. We'll be back. We know what to order now. read more

This small place is easy to miss but I definitely recommend finding your way here. The shop is intimate and nicely laid out so you can quickly look at the menu and order your food. You can take it to go or eat in the front part that looks out to the street. The chicken was PHENOMENAL! I got the 3 piece drumsticks with the korean barbecue sauce and fries, and my boyfriend got the 10pc wings with the soy garlic sauce. I tried a bite of the wings and soy isn't my go to sauce but it was still really good. The drumsticks I got were huge! Definitely worth the price, which isn't even expensive either. The fries were also really good so it was a great pairing. We both weren't able to finish our meals even after having not eaten anything prior, which means the serving size is much better than we expected. The service is also very quick and the owner (I'm assuming) is really nice, he made sure to bring us our food to our table right outside and then asked how the food was. All in all, I would highly recommend a trip here. I think anything you can get from the menu would be 10/10. read more

Korean fried chicken is definitely the best. Go for the soy garlic flavor! There isn't much dine-in seating (I think it was just one or two tables) but it's worth checking out or doing takeout. They gave us a sample of their soups which were surprisingly really yummy and wholesome. Definitely would try again. read more

10/10. Ordered the 20 piece wings (half sweet and spicy, half soy garlic), pork dumplings, & truffle fries. Sit down area was too cold, so we were going to eat them at home but couldn't wait. The smell in the car was just divine. Started eating in the car, and couldn't stop, as you can tell by my fingers in the picture. Wings were crispy and juicy, not fatty at all. Dumplings were crispy in all the right spots. Truffle fries were amazingly crispy and flavorful. Amazing, friendly staff. They seem like they are genuinely appreciative of all their customers. This place isn't just my new favorite Korean Fried Chicken place, but my favorite chicken place in general. Can't wait to go back and see what else they have to offer. Bravo Bloom read more

I normally write reviews for the readers, but today, this review is directed to the owner. Your fried chicken is worth the trouble of finding parking. I had the 10pc bloom drumsticks half w/Soy Garlic and the other half in S.O.S. Korean Spicy. I would even go as far as saying any of the sauces are worth a parking ticket. I was also super impressed with the size of the drumsticks! I was full after just 4, and thankfully, otherwise I would have been tempted to eat my napkin just to relish the flavor. I'm also grateful I arrived with family, since they ordered additional items, like the bloom wings, truffle fries, pork dumplings, and wasabi coleslaw. I got to try almost everything and nothing disappointed...not one thing. Thank you for offering to provide me my order as it became available for the members of my family vs. waiting for all of it to finish, that was very considerate of you and unexpected. I saw how polite you were to everyone that entered to order and for pick-up. We waited a little less than 25 minutes for the order to be complete and considering the size of our order, that was impressively fast! I just want to add that I also noticed you sacrificed your kitchen space to provide extra room for your guest, hats off to you sir! The seating space at the entrance is ample, the decor is trendy, the food was amazing, your attitude was great and even the bathroom was clean. The best fried chicken in NJ!! We are huge fans of the OG Bloom restaurant in Verona so we were thrilled when we heard Chef Woo was opening up a chicken spot closer to us. Went on their grand opening today and it did not disappoint! The fact that you are able to get gourmet level food from a take out place is amazing. They've brought over many of the same dishes from the high end restaurant like the kale salad, corn soup, etc. which were all delicious as always. Then of course the chicken. The biggest surprise was that this Bloom Chicken outpost now has tons of different sauces/flavors for the chicken (whereas the original Bloom just had a couple of flavors). We got our chicken plain and the sauces on the side so we could try a bunch of them. We tried the soy garlic, miso bbq, korean bbq, and sweet & spicy. All were amazing!! Oh, also try to Cup Baps (rice bowls)!! The fried chicken rice bowl was my favorite. So happy this place opened in Bergen County!!! read more

Very good place for crispy Fried chicken! Tried their wings, shrimp burger and cupbap ( it is like a burrito bowl ) It is crispy outside, juicy inside. Perfectly seasoned! Try their soy garlic flavor chicken, it is so yummy! Small but Nice covered outside dining area. Staffs were super kind. Would like to visit again soon. read more

I've been going to Bloom in Verona for years, my wife and I love it! When I heard that Chef Woo opened a wing joint in Hackensack I had to check it out!! He didn't disappoint, Best Wings in Jersey ... by far!! Every time I'm in the area for lunch I will be coming back for more. read more

Everything is amazing and the service is top notch! I ordered the boneless wings platter with a side of truffle French fries - the sauces were incredible but most importantly the chicken itself was spectacular. Most places use breast meat which is dry and flavorless but bloom uses chicken thighs which are incredibly flavorful. I worry when getting chicken thighs from restaurants bc sometimes there is a lot of unpleasant fat but these thighs are perfectly trimmed to nothing but heart meat. read more

This was my third time ordering from Bloom. On my third visit there was a mix up with my order and didnt realize it until I got home. I called them to let them know . I asked if they can put in the order since Im about 22 minutes out . The lady that answered put me on hold and I heard her talking to someone . That someone was the owner who immediately jumped on the phone and told me he will have it delivered . Well let me tell you . I got it hand delivered by the owner on his electric scooter . ( my face in shock) He was so sweet and apologetic. Needless, to say I will be back again. Oh and the chicken is absolutely delicious . Thanks again for the excellent customer service. read more

The chicken was so crunchy! I got the monster chicken sandwich with truffle fries and although the sandwich was a bit messy the flavors were so delicious! The sandwich was juicy and crisp. Ordered at the shop and ate there. It is a small restaurant that has 1 chef and outdoor seating. The wait for the food was okay. Not too long but also not quick. Also got the soy garlic boneless wings, they were a bit sweet for my taste but it was crunchy and juicy. Would definitely come here again and try their other food!! read more

So right down the block is Bon Chon my sons favorite and my favorite is also In Hackensack, Kinoybi. Bloom was very good but was I would say not as good unfortunately as Bon chon and the aforementioned Kinoybi the staff there was very friendly I probably would try them again because we went the first week they were opened and perhaps they have improved. read more

Chef Woo's Bloom Restaurant in Verona is one of my favorite restaurants so I was excited to check out Bloom Chicken in its opening week. I thought it was just going to be a take-out place but it has the cutest dining area -- clean and hip-looking (I love their logo) with good music playing. The menu offers a LOT of choices. Really good food, the butternut squash soup was as good as all the other reviews. The fries were nice and crispy. Loved the bulgogi burger. My one problem was the boneless wings. We asked for spicy sauce on the SIDE for the and it got mixed in. It was so overpowering, even my husband who loves spicy food thought it was not appealing. Kind of ruined the meal. If you advertise adding a side sauce, don't mix it in. read more

Ok, I just moved here from Queens and I was recommended to check out Bloom Chicken, and boy was that a right choice!! As a new resident of NJ, I wanted to order a variety of items on their menu and here are my thoughts. 1- The chicken wings - a must!! It is not dry or overcooked. Moist on the inside and crispy AF on the outside. And the sauce choices range from mild to spicy and everything in between. My fave was the sweet and smokey + the soy garlic. 2- Let's talk about their sides!!! I got the kale salad as I wanted to have some greens. The salad, with the crunchy garlic chips and crunchy mushroom chips and let's not forget the miso sesame dressing. The perfect fusion of flavors to the refreshing salad. The wasabi coleslaw......wow, this slaw IS AMAZING!!!! Next time, I will order another set just to keep in my fridge! Either way, my experience didn't live up to the hype. I visited on a late Saturday night. There's a parking lot behind the restaurant. The entrance can be tricky to find... It's located in the back on the left-hand side. The exterior and interior are both pretty dark, dull, and dingy. It's not the most inviting atmosphere at first. It has a divey, industrial, and rustic vibe to it, but hey... sometimes the best food comes from places that don't look like much. So I try not to judge. It wasn't too busy, and the service was attentive. The menu has your classic American comfort food - wings, pizza, burgers, sandwiches, etc. They switch it up with daily specials like skirt steak, chicken parm, and pasta. They have a full bar with cocktails, drafts, bottled beers, can ciders, and wines. You can even do a four-beer flight and make it a tasting experience! I ordered: *Dark & Stormy Cocktail [Goslings Dark Rum, Ginger Beer, Lime Juice] ($14) - Not the best one I've had, but it was solid. If you like ginger and rum, this is a must try. The dark rum has hints of caramel which works really well with the spicy ginger beer. I ordered both the wings and the boneless tenders to give this place the old college try, and while the tenders are impressive in size and heft (and I personally like them because I don't have to work around a bone), I found the wings to be far more tender and flavorful. I also found that the tenders were far quicker to lose their fried crunchification. I also tried both the soy garlic and sweet and spicy flavors, and both are incredible. If you put a gun to my head and made me choose one, I'd have to pick the soy garlic, but I love the way these sauces aren't lathered onto each piece. There's just enough brushed on so that you can appreciate both the flavor and the texture of the chicken. The fries here are the wedge type. Think KFC, but fresher and less salty. Also, don't sleep on the pickled veg. I know it sounds nuts to buy pickled veggies from a fried chicken place, but it's a staple for classic Korean fried chicken dinners to cleanse the greasy palate with something acidic. I love the medley of veg they use here, and I loved the pickling juice so much, I actually found myself sipping it between bites (don't judge me). There's a small parking lot on the side of the building that might accommodate three or four cars at most. And that might be by design, because three or four parties is probably the most that could dine in this tiny restaurant. But as many have already shared, the owners here are so sweet and friendly, it's a gift to spend any amount of time with them, even in this teacup-sized dining room. Those who choose to takeout or deliver will be pleased to know that Peck Peck Chicken knows how to to package freshly fried things correctly - that is, with intentionally aerated containers so that you won't lose all that beautiful crisp as the food makes its way home.

Bloom Chicken has truly become my go-to neighborhood gem for both small workshops and larger events, and I can't recommend them highly enough! My recent experience using them for Pantone's monthly staff luncheon (with 55 attendees) solidified my loyalty. This was my second time ordering, and--just like before--everything was top-notch. From the moment they arrived, the Bloom Chicken team impressed with their attention to detail. They expertly set up and clearly labeled each entree, making it easy for everyone to find their favorites. The variety was fantastic: we ordered full trays of crispy, soy garlic, and KBBQ wings; a fantastic range of boneless trays including soy, sweet spicy, KBBQ, and citrus honey flavors; and crowd-pleasing chicken mayo and spicy chicken rice bowls. The bulgogi and pork dumpling trays were a hit, and the kale salads--even among non-salad lovers--disappeared quickly. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Bloom Chicken is one of those places that delivers big flavor and does casual food really well. I swung by for dinner with a friend, and we tried a bunch of stuff--the Boneless Heaven pack (medium size) was excellent: juicy chicken, crispy coating, and loaded with flavor. The wings are great too, especially the soy-garlic and Korean BBQ sauces. We also got the Monster Spicy Chicken Sandwich, the crispy spicy rice cake, and some pork dumplings. The spice in the sandwich hit just right--not overwhelming, but definitely had a kick. The rice cake was crispy on the edges, tender inside. The dumplings were surprisingly good, especially with the dipping sauce. Service was friendly, and even though the place is pretty small, the staff made sure things flowed. The packaging for take-out/delivery is solid, the food stayed hot. Atmosphere is casual--good for a quick meal or takeout. One thing: seating is limited, so if you want to eat in, getting there earlier is a smart move. read more

I had the soy garlic boneless chicken lunch combo with truffle fries (or regular fries -- both are very flavorful). The chicken and fries were perfectly crunchy, not soggy. I also tried the rose creamy rice cakes, but personally, I didn't like them -- they had a weird, pungent taste. I'd definitely prefer the regular spicy rice cakes instead, which taste much better.
