Boneless chicken
Maday M.

Ordered the boneless chicken and they were extremely salty, we couldn't eat it. The French fries were crispy and very good. The pork dumplings were good but the BBQ sauce was very spicy, maybe try not putting the sauce on the dumplings and let the customer do the dipping.

I am surprised about the reviews here. I came here for the first time and it was clean and nice inside. The service was very good and they give a 5% discount when using cash. This is across one the first Bonchons that opened up in the US. I ordered the spicy Korean chicken sandwich and fries which was made fresh so there is a little wait and I ordered the Korean donuts. Everything was really good! The chicken was fried nicely and had good flavor plus a good amount of cold slaw and was not soggy. They use good quality white chicken and i like the bread they use... like a brioche bun. I ended up realizing this was the place i ordered online from once before too (wings) and i also really enjoyed them! Cripsy and flavorful.

This is place delicious! The chicken is fried to perfection. We got the lunch deal with 8pc soy garlic with rice and the 8pc Korean bbq with fries. The Korean flavor was okay. Probably wouldn't order that flavor again, but everything else was yummy.

Small Signature Fried Chicken Combo

After a particularly bad experience at a different Bonchon location at Harvard Square in Boston, visiting another Bonchon again wasn't very high on my bucket list. I've always known this location in Fort Lee was near me, but didn't bother to try it until I got a promo code from Seamless to use today. I ordered a small (12 piece) signature fried boneless wings, as I usually prefer boneless over bone-in wings. I really only eat bone-in wings if they are my only option. Imagine my disappointment after getting home and realizing that they gave me bone-in wings instead of what I had ordered. Since it would take me at least 25 minutes round-trip to walk there and back again, I decided not to go back to fix my order. I was originally going to write a review on the boneless wings, but this review will have to be about their bone-in wings instead. After the initial disappointment, I was disappointed again at the fact that there is very little meat on each wing. When you bite in, it is mostly just the fried batter. I did like that the wings were extremely crispy though, which is something that beats most takeout places. They have holes in the box so that the steam can escape, which keeps the chicken from getting soggy. However, after finishing this meal, I just felt like it was very greasy since all I was eating was basically the crisp. I also noticed when picking up my order that they have another sauce option called Sweet Crunch that was not on the menu on Seamless' website. I feel like every business owner should have the responsibility of ensuring their menus are always up-to-date so that the customer can order anything that is offered by the restaurant. I definitely would have picked that sauce over the one I got if I had known it was an option. Lastly, I personally think that the chicken is a little overpriced for what you get. With such little meat, the small size should not be worth $12. I probably would not pay for that again if I don't have a promo code to use. I feel like there are many other better Korean fried chicken places on the opposite side of Fort Lee that are not only more fairly priced, but have more meat on each wing. I'll give this location 3 stars as I feel it was just average but not terrible.

It's BonChon Chicken for chicken's sake! From what i know the birth-baby of KFC (Korean Fried Chicken). I've had a few pieces before but this day were took home boxes and I was ready to DIG IN! When I finally sank my teeth into these, it wasn't what I remembered. Something felt like it was missing... I remember recently I've been getting my KFC from another place around this area and it's hard to live up to that now. Maybe I will give BonChon another shot some other time..

Chicken was extra crispy, onion rings were good and rib eye tacos could have had more meat.

What an awesome and homey place. Ample seating, and clean bathroom in premises. We got seated…read moreimmediately. The place was easy to find (fyi, mostly street metered parking). We ordered a chicken curry katsu, a 8 piece boneless soy garlic chicken, and 4 piece drumstick spicy soy garlic. We even got served little pre-meal treats before the courses came out; flavorful. The rice cakes were so fresh and none super chewy; just the right amount of chew and softness. All of it was delicious. The crispiness was nice without drying the meat; nor was it oily. For under $50, very much worth it!

So much potential, such high hopes, but ultimately disappointing. It was the overcooked chicken…read morethat caused this and, as expected, dark meat was much less affected by this than white meat. And since I prefer white meat, the dry white meat parts were literally tough to swallow. The white radish was aged well, perhaps too well, so it didn't have the crisp crunch we've come to expect. There were several things these guys did well that give me hope for a possible next visit. First, the sauce for the sweet chilli chicken was on point, and theirs is the sauce-y kind which I like. One of the three sides, the rice cakes, was my favourite part of the whole meal. The rice cakes were tender and a perfect bite size, and the sauce was the right blend of sweet and spicy that doesn't hurt my stomach. The dining room is nice and open, and decor was surprisingly whimsical (pictured). The vinyl glove was a nice touch and saved me from using utensils to get meat off the bones. I'd consider going back. When I do, I expect a solid 5-star experience.

Ordered: Whole Chicken - Large 18pc (~$26): half soy garlic…read moreand half spicy; with sweet & sour radish Sweet Potato Fries (~$5) Haitai Bong Bong Grape Drink (complimentary; ~$2 regular price) Aya's take: There is nothing better than some Korean fried chicken after a long day of being out & about. I've been to a different Boom Boom Chicken location but this one was cleaner, brighter, and had more seating. We were greeted by Esther the owner who was very friendly. Since we were hungry, we opted for the Whole Chicken which is the large option totally about 18pc. They have 2 main flavors so we got both. The chicken was so unbelievably fresh, crispy, and had just the right amount of flavor on every single piece. The soy garlic was savory and well-seasoned while the spicy was super tolerable but definitely started to kick in after a few pieces. I love that they put fried tteokbokki (rice cakes)! Since they were fried, it reduced some of that gelatinous, chewy texture and actually made it even more enjoyable. The Sweet Potato Fries were a nice addition and the sweet & sour radish are an absolute must with Korean fried chicken. The Haitai Bong Bong Grape Drink was refreshing and fruity; you even get real grape pieces that "burst" in your mouth. If you're in the area, you have to check them out! It's reasonably priced and I left feeling full & satisfied!

A Korean fried chicken spot that was just okay for us. We ordered the 10-piece soy garlic wings…read more The wings had an average crisp and average seasoning--nothing particularly bad, but nothing that stood out either. Overall, it's a decent option if you're nearby and craving fried chicken
