Came here during opening weekend and loved it! It's a beautiful, open, airy space with a big outdoor area, tall ceilings, plants everywhere, and just a great, chill vibe. We'll see how it goes, but so far the staff seems super upbeat and friendly, too. MUST-TRIES: From the cocktails, the Jalapeño Pineapple margarita and the Strawberry Habañero margarita (shown). Both are flavorful, boozy, and with just the perfect amount of kick! From the food menu: the cheese crisp is like a super-thin Mexican pizza, with crispy melted cheese on a big tortilla, topped with anything from short ribs to BBQ pork. YUM! I do wish they'd do this one a corn tortilla and not just wheat, because their handmade corn tortillas for the tacos are sooooo good! Our entire table was literally commenting just on those handmade tortillas, because you can tell how different they are when they're well-made. Definitely get the juicy, tender carnitas taco and the carne asada with that perfect amount of charred flavor. PRO TIP: ask for that side of arbol salsa! There's nothing that bothers me more than a Mexican restaurant without a spicy salsa, and this one has the perfect amount of flavor and kick. Came here to kick off a girls night with my family. Everyone was in agreement that it was a super cute spot with decent eats. However, the main star of the show was the cocktails! We went crazy over the delicious drinks. By far some of the best we've had recently. I got a strawberry and habanero margarita, my mom got the pineapple and jalapeño margarita, my grandma got a beer, cousin got a skinny marg, and other grandma got a cocktail with a Mamitas canned tequila soda in it. Each drink was incredibly tasty, but the highlights were definitely the spicy margs! We started with chips, salsa, queso and guac. The salsa and guac were on par, and most of our crew enjoyed the queso. However, to me the queso was a bit too creamy due to the fact that they add a huge dollop of sour cream that gets mixed in. We ordered a good variety of entrees. My grandma and I ordered the mahi tacos. Sister and other grandma got chicken bowls. And my mom and cousin got the short rib tacos. As a lover of fish tacos, these ones left a bit to be desired. They had all the elements but the mahi was just a tiny bit under seasoned and dry. I added some salsa and asked for limes and it added the needed flavor. The hit from the entree round was the short rib. Mom and cousin seemed to love it! We went on a Friday night at prime dinner time so it was packed and though there were ample servers (and ours was SO sweet), the service was a bit on the slow side. And we were cutting it close for our next reservation at a game spot nearby. Overall, I'd definitely give this place another try. I came here on opening day as I had been watching the construction and waiting for the restaurant to open. Ambiance: fantastic... We walked inside to request a table and the colors and decor were transportive. It being a nice day, we opted to sit outside and were not disappointed. You are surrounded by beautiful new buildings, a park and a sister restaurant, Culinary Dropout. As you can see from the pictures, the patio space is likely going to be packed next Spring/Summer. Service: also fantastic. It was a little busy while I was there, nonetheless the server was very polite, professional, and knowledgeable about the menu. Food: Could be better. The fajitas were fantastic, we opted for the chicken. The Mahi tacos came out smelling like day-old fish and tasted the same way. Guac as pretty standard, nothing special. I was told they make it every two hours. The chips and salsa were a highlight as was the frozen Paloma. Aside from the less than stellar fish everything was prepared well. Blanco was one of our favorite spots when we were in Tucson AZ, so when we found that they had one in Denver we knew we had to go. The restaurant is in a great area with a few options nearby and a parking structure just up the block, so getting there was no issue. The ambiance is great for a casual date night or something more formal if you want without feeling out of place. We chose to sit on the patio and it was a great time. Our server was wonderful and attentive as well. Being familiar with the menu we didn't have any questions. (Make sure to have the Elote street corn it is amazing) The food is delicious as well with generous portions you can count on being full. Cute place! I love all the greenery. We were able to park in the public garage and walk over. We waited about 20 minutes for our table on a Friday night. Not too bad. We ordered chips and salsa to start and a cheese crisp. It was just okay. The cheese crisp might've been better if we had ordered the one with all the toppings rather than just plain cheese. We went for restaurant week and the only reason I can't give this place a 5-star is because for a Mexican restaurant the food just wasn't spicy enough! Don't get me wrong. It was delicious and flavorful, but I love a spicy something. We had the guac and queso, the braised chicken burrito, and the Mexican chocolate tiramisu. The chips are perfectly crisp and the margarita was really good. I saw in another review they make their own hot sauce, I regret not asking. The chips and salsa were good, but the chips were a little too salty. My friend had the Asada fajitas with homemade flour tortillas, so good! I had two asada tacos with homemade corn tortillas, white rice with corn and black beans. The tacos are huge and the steak was juicy tasty and tender. The bartender was friendly, and putting in the effort, but we did not make things any easier for her on her second day of work. They had kicked the keg on my first beer choice, and my second choice could have been a bit colder. The house salsa was thick and bland, almost like a marinara. The chimichanga was just okay. The charts beans were kind of crunchy. I did like the street corn. My fajitas had a good amount of chicken, but it was a bit dry, and the veggies were chunky, which means they did not cook that well. I first came here for a Yelp elite event, and it was full of good vibes and nice drinks, and really attentive staff. Last night I checked out their happy hour. Tuesdays happy hour is all day. The happy hour isn't very lengthy. However, For the quality- the prices are on par. The appetizer nachos a great and we shared those. The salsa is ok a little on the pasty side. McKenna was our server and I remember her from the yelp event. She was extremely sweet and incredibly kind. Knowledgeable of the menu, and perky and prompt. We sat in the outside covered area. It was a little chilly, but they have heaters. There's also a huge inside area, wrap around bar, and those who love tequila - there's hundreds. This restaurant has potential for improvement for sure, but it's solid enough to be a semi regular happy hour spot. read more

I have been here several times but decided to come again for RW 2024. Unfortunately this year no margarita included but for a discounted 7$. Chips and salsa tasty as usual but the portions for the guacamole and queso have gone down significantly compared to last years RW. The short rib machaca burrito was delicious and portion was similar to the typical a la cart portion. Desserts were good but portions were scaled down. Overall still a good experience. Solid Mexican place that still gives you complimentary chips and salsa at the start! They have a pretty traditional Texmex menu and everything is solid and you get pretty healthy portions of everything. The staff is also super friendly and efficient. The only downside here is that the drinks are a bit pricey, but they are a bit larger than usual, so I do think you still get what you pay for. read more

Was not expecting the food to be as good as it was. The atmosphere is open with big windows giving an open air feeling. Service was great both times so far and they are very attentive. The soft drinks were only 2/3 gone and fresh ones were bought to the table. Chips and salsa were fresh hot and homemade. The kitchen is extremely slow and both times it's about 20 mins or more till food arrives. The steak in the burrito has great flavor from whatever they cook it in. Others had it in a salad. Those that had the other burritos (pork, short rib) said there was also really good. They had a full bar, although nobody was drinking, Except for a beer and they did have a basic decent selection. I always come here and sit at the bar for the best frozen Paloma & a delish salad. Sometimes I'll do the fresh chicken tortilla soup & get an order of amazzzinggg flan for dessert. Never have been disappointed out of 10+ times. Yesterday I came in with my brother. Ordered two Palomas with chips and queso. The Palomas had no salt or garnish; at $13 a piece you kind of want the details. After 20 minutes I had to ask the bartender about where the queso was- (usually you want an app BEFORE the meal)... He says "you ordered guac." Ok so, no, but also wow... rude? I politely explain that no we wanted the queso. Our entree then came out at the same time as the alleged guacamole. I let the server know we didn't order it and he handed it to us anyways. I try to give it immediately to the bartender who is again ignoring us. Our queso comes out now. We are not checked on throughout the entirety of our meal. We had to wave the secondary bartender for extra chips for water etc. Finally I put my credit card where the bill was. The bill had already been in the cup it was $58. ironically I actually never look at my receipt but for some reason I did. I ask the bartender to close this out. He hands me back a non itemized receipt that has not been charged and it is $12 more. Not only is that super illegal to run my card for a different amount that I didn't authorize but it's shady. So I asked about it and he says "yeah I had to add the queso", and I'm like right but you put the guacamole on there which was more expensive and you never took it off when I told you I didn't want it and we didn't order: it four times. He looks at me and says "you told me once". I told the manager on our way out and he was polite but offered no assistance or anything to remedy the terrible experience. I always try to get some thing resolved before I leave because I don't want to leave a bad review but even after multiple opportunities no one fixed it. I would love a call back and something provided because you cannot run peoples cards for higher amounts than the bill is and you should also not sit there and argue with them when they're trying to have a nice evening with no issue at their favorite spot. Anyone that wants to pour queso on top of nachos as the final ingredient is a pal of mine. The presentation of the nachos was already impressive, but then the server said, "but wait; there's more" and lathered the queso all over the plate. The frozen paloma was also a real treat. We arrived at Blanco Cocina + Cantina and were seated on the outdoor patio. We loved that we got to enjoy the beautiful summer day while brunching. Logan was our server - he was attentive, friendly and made sure we had everything we needed during our meal. I started off our meal with a Frozen Paloma per Logan's recommendation. The Frozen Paloma is made with grapefruit, combier pamplemousse, and blanco tequila. The Frozen Paloma was great for a hot day - nice and cold with grapefruit tartness. The combier pamplemousse had plenty of pink grapefruit zing without being overly sweet. The blanco tequila mixed with the grapefruit made for a super refreshing cocktail with slight citrus bitterness. For starters we had the Grilled Mexican Street corn and Warm Queso - both must orders when dining at Blanco. The Grilled Mexican Street corn is made with mayo, cilantro, lime, and cotija cheese. I am a sucker for street corn and Blanco's Mexican Street Corn is some of the best. The corn was coated in a drool worthy mayo sauce and sprinkled with a beautiful blend of spices. The spices left nice lingering heat on the tongue. The sauce added a creamy element to the corn while the tangy lime brought a burst of acidity with every bite. The Warm Queso is served with a dollop of guacamole, sour cream, & pico de gallo in it. The queso was hot & velvety - so good. The guacamole, sour cream and pico added texture differentiation & brightness to the queso. For our mains we had the Ancho Spice French Toast & the Chilaquiles Verdes. The Ancho Spice French Toast is made with cinnamon sugar brioche, & buttered blackberry syrup. The pieces of brioche toast were thick & sweet. The cinnamon brought a touch of spice to the French toast that woke up the taste buds. The blackberry syrup was slightly tangy, sticky sweet and fabulous warm on the French toast. The Chilaquiles Verdes are made with sunny side up eggs, black beans, roasted corn, & oaxaca cheese. Ross added carne asada per Logan's recommendation. The Chilaquiles Verdes were lightly fried corn tortilla chips simmered in a flavorful salsa verde that was bright and tangy. Really cool place with really good food. A lot of these fancy (and overpriced) Mexican places are really hit or miss, and for Blanco it's a HIT! There was just something special about their salsa that was great. Their guacamole was good, and I loved the Machaca Chimichonga! Very nicely decorated modern Mexican restaurant located by its sister restaurant culinary dropout. Parking in this area is always stressful. I got a carnita taco during happy hour for $6. It was aiight! I'd prob need 4-5 to be full for a meal. Also got a virgin strawberry mango margarita which was tasty (omg won't get the salt rim next time, waaay too salty!) but I was upset bc it cost me $7 when my friends alcoholic margarita cost $6 bc it was on the happy hour menu. Atmosphere is bright and lively with a large bar at one of side of the restaurant. Our server was awesome and gave us great recommendations. We shared one of the cheese crisps with the short rib machaca and it was super tasty! We weren't sure what to expect, but all it was was almost like an open-faced quesadilla. Because the short rib machaca was so yummy, I went with the short rib machaca chimichanga enchilada style with green chili. It was tasty, seasoned well and came with rice and beans. Blanco Cocona + Cantina is a stunning restaurant with some delicious food. I met some coworkers around 4 and it was easy to get into (but you can always use open table for rezzies if needed)! We sampled their salsa that comes out fresh when you sit down as well as happy hour guacamole and queso. Both were fresh and filling because their salty chips were addicting. I also ordered their chimichanga and it was HUGE! Super cheesy outside and juicy and meaty filling. It came with a side of beans of your choice and rice. All very good! My only real knock is how slow everything was... even when we arrived at 4 and it wasn't busy. We also couldn't really tell who our waiter was for the longest time because we had 3 different people talk to us throughout the night. We were seated in the bar area so perhaps all 3 bartenders just share the tables there but we really couldn't tell. They are $6 each (so $12 for 2 on happy hour), but if you get the actual meal with 2 tacos, rice, and beans it's $13. Therefore, if they made the tacos $4, it would actually be a legit happy hour. The food was decent though, although pricy. This isn't your typical cheap hole in the wall Mexican place. Have to take into account location too. read more
