I couldn't even finish the burger Spent $40 for burger fries and two high noons Food sucks so bad they squish the meat patty and don't shape it even

Really good atmosphere on the inside! They are a local wine bar/ burger joint in Denver. The menu is pretty simplistic, which I appreciate and they specialize in burgers. We started with the chips and guacamole, which was super good. The side of fries was just OK. Everyone at the table ordered burgers and two of the people ordered their specialty burger, which they've entered into awards. Our favorite thing was the W sauce because whatever is in their special sauce is incredible. I did a burger slider trio so that I could try a little bit of all the burgers, including the brie, the standard one and the one with bacon and jack cheese. All the burgers were OK because they were very dry. The service here was not great at all, they were not friendly, and even though the restaurant wasn't busy, it took our server a very long time to bring out a soda water, refill drinks, and she was very dismissive of our group.

I wouldn't think this is a burger place but that's about all they offer. They have some salads and sharables on their menu but really they offer variations of a "craft" burger. Nice ambiance when you walk in with large windows overlooking Colfax. They have an outdoor area that I guess would open up in the summer time. The bar is long and bright so lots of cocktails to choose from. Ordered a couple glasses of house wine with our meal ($8 during happy hour/$11 during peak times. Not bad for a house wine. The burgers tasted okay but didn't sit well with me afterwards. I had the li'l wig burger which is white cheddar burger, red onion, tomato, lettuce, pickle and their sauce. We also ordered the li'l big wig which is similar but includes smoked pulled pork belly bacon and fresh jalapeno for $3 more. Nice community location. This would be a nice local stopping place if you lived close by and in walking distance.

We were looking for a nearby nightcap and didn't want to go to our usual spot. Randomly found this place on Google Maps and it's truly a hidden gem. Very cozy and inviting interior with lots of sports on the TVs. Stacy was such a friendly bartender and seemed to know all the regulars that came by. Bonus points for having parking in the back off of Elm street. We need to go back to try the burgers. Very cool spot!

The building on Colfax & Elm in Park Hill that holds The W is a fixture in my memory as a soda fountain inside Weiss Drug Store from the 1960s. Now it holds a bar where the soda fountain was and serves wonderful burgers. The menu is interesting and had many choices that were tempting. We had to elicit help from our server, who seemed more than happy to oblige. Husband settled on the Li'l Big Wig burger, I had the W Salad. Both were yummy. Though I wished the salad had more of the veggies and candied pecans than the lettuce. Looking forward to a return visit -- one where we'll have to save room for the dessert, French Beignets Trio!

The W, or as others who have been in Denver fo a while, formerly The Elm. While I only stopped in for a drink, The W has an updated decor with an updated menu as well. The W puts on a good show with the cocktail of the month as well as the details that went into the decorations. Happy hours are short - 4:00-5:30 Tuesdays through Fridays. All day Mondays are Happy Hour as well. The W gives off more of a refined watering hole than its predecessor. The bartender was very attentive and extremely nice. I will go again to try some of their food - many items sounded very tempting. My heart will always belong to The Elm's grilled cheese - if you know, you know! Thanks for a fun experience.

The W Denver is one of a kind! The staff is so on it! The atmosphere is very inviting and nice to sit in. The food is great. Can tell that they care about detail here. The cocktails are the best thing about this place. My wife here is holding a living on a pear (her favorite drink along with the grand avenue). I highly recommend heading here for a classy date night. We are going to be the newest regulars.

    Baby Brie craft burger.

First time here and it will not be the last! What a lovely decorated place and high quality decor with ample space between tables! You can choose between traditional dining tables, communal bar tops, and the inviting bar. I asked for medium and didn't get medium well, medium rare, but MEDIUM! Delicious and juicy patty. The Baby Brie had numerous flavor profiles to keep your tastes buds on edge wanting for more. The thin slices of apple revealed a delayed yet contrasting taste to the rest of flavors. My wife had a delicious "The W" with a juicy burger patty on the side. Since I was the designated driver, she indulged in a refreshing blackberry jalapeño margarita.

We stopped in before a dinner reservation and sat at the bar. One of the owners asked if it was our first time, and we shared that it was indeed our first time. She told us that she liked to describe Room For Friends as not a bar to watch sports, not a bar to go dance, but a bar to go when you are tired and just want to hang out and drink with friends. Loved her humor and her style! I also appreciated it when she pulled out some readers for my friend when he was trying to read the menu with the flashlight on his phone. They have a nice selection of wine to choose from by the glass as well as flights. They also offer snacks and charcuterie, as well as beer, seltzer, and non-alcoholic drinks. I decided to try a 'build your own' flight to see which of their wines I would choose for a full glass. I shared my palate preferences, and all selections were excellent. Prices are reasonable and pours are generous. I also have to give a nod to the artwork on their logo. I am an artistic person myself and appreciate the creativity of the name of the business, the product they sell, and the overall concept being blended into one. Take a closer look at it! Definitely a place I will be revisiting!

The vanilla beans were so fresh and visible the top was perfect and the base was so smooth and creamy. 10/10 My entree was the steak frites another perfect dish, the peppercorn sauce in the perfectly cooked medium rare steak , the house made garlic aioli on the side of the perfectly cooked and seasoned frites. 10/10 You will see me again and I can highly recommend! :)

And you'll be openly humiliated and insulted as an adult by even daring to bring your kid. My husband and I come here regularly for a date and we love the place. This afternoon we brought our 1 year old with us for the first time; she loves fries and this place has great pommes frites. We came at 4:30pm and it was probably 90% empty, and obviously not like romantic date night time. First, they tried to seat us alone in the back room, and when we asked to sit in the main dining room (where there were ~15 open tables), the hostess was demonstrably annoyed...despite the fact that every other party was seated in the main room. Worth noting, we come here often at the same time without our daughter, and have never once been seated in the back room alone. Our daughter was sitting quietly in her high chair "reading" the menu and playing with stickers, a few of which she dropped on the floor...because, you know, she's 1. A staff member repeatedly walked by giving us dirty looks and complaining to other staff members about the stickers within earshot. After hearing it multiple times, my husband said, "don't worry, we always pick up after our child." The staff member snapped back, "well they're clearly already going to stick to the floor". My husband replied "we are going to pick them up...kids drop things and things happen". She rolled her eyes, and walked away. We always clean up after our kid. We go out of our way to make sure she's only in appropriate places at appropriate times...like, I obviously wouldn't bring her to this restaurant at 7 PM on a weekend night where she might disrupt adults looking for a romantic night. But she was just sitting there quietly playing with stickers, not bothering anyone (except apparently this staff member). I'm shocked that a place with high chairs and a kids menu would not only be so unwelcoming before we even sat down, but would also insult us as adults by insinuating we would leave our kids trash on the ground in their restaurant. And to stand there and openly talk about us in front of other staff members?? Genuinely stunned, offended and frankly humiliated. FWIW, before we left, I picked up every single sticker in under 10 seconds, because I'm a decent member of society and I intentionally buy my kid stickers that are removable and won't stick to a restaurant's floor or tables. Bistro Vendome: if you find a sticker belonging to my kid, I will personally return and remove it, but I will otherwise never in a million years be back.

We were seating in the middle of the dining room, which was fine with us. The vibe is def cozy chic, which we found welcoming . SERVICE: I had booked reservations in advance, as Happy Hour here is a major hit. The friendly hostess seated us and our server followed shortly behind her. She was friendly, attentive, provided some good recommendations and was pleasant all around! SIPS: While our friend opted for a glass of wine, my husband stuck with water, while I looked at their mocktail menu. The options are limited, but available for a fun treat. I opted to try the "Little Kiss" which was a mixture of grapefruit, sparkling soda, and cranberry. The flavors were on point for the holiday season and tasted refreshing. I will admit, the glass it came in was a turn off. It was like a normal draft size class, which made me feel like I was about 9 years old. Bummer. Otherwise, there are plenty of options for drinkers alike - beer, wine, cocktails, you name it, they have it! SUSTENANCE: The food!! This spot is known for their rustic Italian and woodfired creations - and the menu is fire. I asked for some bread and oil to start - because that sounded divine. It came out quickly and was a nice intro to the meal. My friend opted for the Pasticcio - aka meatballs, three cheese tortellini, slow braised Bolognese, herby pomodoro, bechamel and parm brulee - which he found to be fantastic! It came with more bread, which was perfect for dipping. My friend got a kick out of the presentation as well - in a cast little iron cauldron! I chose the Seafood Pasta - a special of the night. I'll admit, I was a bit disappointed in my meal - as it was a mixture of squid, shrimp, scallops and other - in a red sauce. Not what I was expecting with seafood, but always down to try new things. The seafood flavor overpowered the dish - which made it hard to finish. I opted not to take it home. My husband noshed on the Brasato - Barolo wine slow braised angus short rip, creamy polenta and gremolata - which was DIVINE. The meat was SO tender, delicious and took on the rich wine flavor, perfect over potatoes! YUM! The pizza stood out to me as well, but considering Cattivella is classy, I opted for other. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and could see returning.

Everything was just ok... food, service, atmosphere. Nothing stood out. We ordered off of the happy…read morehour menu and it was nothing to write home about; all standard Americanized Italian food. We had to ask for one persons food as it was completely forgotten and didn't come out until everyone was finished. It gave us extra time to chat with our friends but not the meal experience we were hoping for!
