I stopped by for lunch today. First, it has been so hot out and this place has excellent air conditioning! This is a big deal for me. I think it is a huge plus that a restaurant must be comfortable..I drink coffee after each meal and with this weather some places make my routine impossible. They offered a decent lunch deal of a burger and beer. I eill be back when not on my lunch hour. I had the tinga tacos, PERFECT! Wow, such an unfortunate experience. We have been regulars for 9 years since we moved into the neighborhood. We have experienced somewhere between 3-5 ownership groups and stayed loyal. The staff has typically recognized us and welcomed us in. But tonight was a mess. We ordered food, and no one had the courtesy to say to us, we have a large party outside, it might be an hour before you get your food. That would have put the ball in our court and legitimately made it our decision. The manager, owner/operator, a gentleman with a shaved head told me it was our fault for not being aware of the situation around us. This all while he busied himself doing shots behind the bar. With all due respect, he did comp our tab, (which was not our goal) and we asked a bartender to ring up $1 so we could tip the staff, which we did. I fear, based on our experience, and after 9 years of loyal patronage, this is likely not our neighborhood pub any longer. Bummer. read more

Our party of four recently visited Inga's on Leetsdale, a place we've enjoyed for many years. Unfortunately, this will likely be our last visit. We arrived early to secure a table. Although several tables were reserved, we were told a booth behind the bar was available. After seating ourselves, we waited more than 10 minutes before finally walking around the bar to let the staff know--for the second time--that we were waiting. It was several more minutes before our waitress finally came to take our order. She seemed rushed and didn't write anything down despite only two specific requests. Nothing we ordered was unusual. After another long wait, only two of our four meals arrived. Five to seven minutes later, the remaining two meals were delivered by a food runner. Unfortunately, both burgers were incorrect and overcooked, while the other two meals were so heavily salted they were barely enjoyable. We flagged down the food runner and asked to speak with our waitress. Several minutes later she returned, calling out from across the table, "How is everything?" We explained that it was not good. She asked what she could do, and my wife told her she wasn't going to eat her meal despite being very hungry. The waitress offered to bring the Muddy sauce that should have been on the burger, but by that point the missing sauce was the least of the problem. The burger itself didn't look edible, with its dry, overcooked patties and heavily seasoned fries. My wife finally asked that the meal simply be removed from the bill, which they did. That was the last we saw of our waitress; another gentleman later collected our payment. The biggest disappointment was the Muddy Burger, which has always been one of our favorites. Instead, we received what appeared to be a Country Muddy Burger that we never ordered--onion rings and barbecue sauce instead of the signature Muddy sauce which was supposed to be included. Gone were the thick, juicy, made-to-order burger patties. In their place were thin, dry, flavorless patties that tasted like pre-cooked frozen burgers. When we initially ordered, we requested our burgers medium rare, but were told only one cooking temperature was available. At the time we thought that was odd. After the food arrived, it became obvious why. These burgers were clearly not cooked to order and were dry and overcooked--the kind of thin frozen patties that could almost double as tire patches. The fries were equally disappointing. In the past, Inga's always served hot, fresh, unseasoned fries. This time they were lukewarm, heavily salted, and coated with seasoning--the exact type of fries we intentionally avoid. My wife never thought to ask how they were prepared because they had always been consistently excellent and purly simple fries. To top it off, perhaps because the restaurant appeared to be short-staffed and service was already lacking, the music was turned up far too loud. We could barely carry on a conversation throughout the meal, and the playlist sounded more like rehased tired and loud punk rock than the atmosphere we had come to expect from Inga's. We've enjoyed Inga's for many years, which makes this review especially disappointing to write. Sadly, based on this experience, the restaurant appears to have changed dramatically. The service, food quality, and atmosphere were all a significant step down from what made Inga's one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. We won't be returning. read more

We like going here because of its central location to where we live and not having to hassle with parking. It's a great watering hole for all seasons. During the summer, we enjoy the spacious patio. During the winter, we slide into a cozy booth. The service is always friendly. The food is always good for shared appetizers in our little group. Laura greeted us with a great big smile. We selected or seats and she brought us the Menu. We selected Poutine and the Asian Chicken Wings. When you walk into Inga's you are taken back in time as the decor shows its age and it is still warm and awesome. Many Flat Screen TVs to catch the current sporting events both College and Pro. When Laura brought us our order it was warm gorgeous and delicious. Having lived close to Montreal I can tell you what Poutine should taste like, well Inga's nails it, lots of gravy and cheese curds. Went here for St Patrick's Day with some friends. My friends had the corned beef and cabbage (rave reviews, smelled awesome). I am a vegetarian so they went out of their way to get me a dish of cabbage, potatoes and carrots (wonderful). The service was excellent, my waiter Neal was tremendous, was able to enjoy a fun "holiday" and enjoy the festivities. We sat on the patio, it was perfect! read more

I have started to become a regular here. I always have fun, if I am here with work friends or just stopping by for a drink it is always enjoyable. The staff is attentive and always pleasant. Sometimes it is really hopping in here....karaoke or a decent band, mostly classic rock but bands in which you can sing along. What I like best is the food, I am always super happy, the Bavarian Plate was my go to but lately I have changed to the Popeye pizza so I can have lunch next day. I drive UBER part-time late at night and I have even ordered my pizza or food close to the closing time. Some places will give you a dirty look, it is so nice to go to a place where I can get some food so late and it is delicious. Trust me there are not too many late night kitchens in Denver any longer, Inga's is the go to if you are hungry after 10 PM (I have even ordered close to 2AM). read more

The feel of Inga's is one that's too tough to match. I've been there on a Bumble night that turned out to be Trivia Night, very thankful for the trivia. I've sat at the bar to people where I had to explain them the affects of drugs, been there with co workers where I was the last to pick up the tab and ended up getting all the apps. We all know that feeling, And we learn from it. I've also sat next to a man twice...I'll call him a friend at this point, that was a former pro boxer, who told me a story of himself getting stabbed leaving a boxing match in Japan with a suitcase full of cash. We came here late on a Thursday night after flying into town before a tour of DU the following day. Easy to find and easy parking in the lot. There were a lot of people on the patio and the bar was super busy pouring pitchers of beer so table service was slow. The burger was good, the fish and chips were basically inedible because the fish was soaked in grease on the inside?!? just gross and not even sure how it could be crispy outside and so heavy with oil inside. We were still hungry so thought we would try dessert and wished I had saved the money since the chocolate cake was dry and seemed old. After passing by Inge's hundreds of times, we finally decided to stop in. We'd heard good things -- just seemed to always be on our way to another place. So glad we took the time, on a Saturday, to finally venture in. It just so happens that Saturdays has a $15 margarita with 3 tacos special all day long. Great timing! While Spouse chose that, I chose the most amazing Reuben sandwich. It is superb. It's moist and flavorful and very large. Turned out Spouse was quite happy to have some of it that I couldn't finish. Their fries are pretty decent too. Margarita was very tasty, as were the tacos (or so he said). Inga's has a very special neighborhood vibe to it. There was a group of about eight that were having a grand time -- and taking the rest of us with them. The waitstaff and bartender were all part of that wonderful vibe. Food was good! Had the Breckenridge Fish and Chips and fish was thin, but very tasty in flavor! Came with a large side of fries, coleslaw, and tartar. Basic tartar, but good! Fries were delicious, didn't try the coleslaw (not a fan of it typically). Boyfriend had the Green Chili Burger and really enjoyed it. It had good flavor from the bites I took. Service was slow, had to get up to ask for silverware after our food was dropped off. We also waited over 15 mins to pay after dropping off a box for our leftovers, but seemed like there wasn't many employees and the place was really busy for a Wednesday before 5pm. I used to like coming here. It's always open late night and the food is decent. The last time I sat at the bar was my last and will never step foot on the premises again. I sat at the bar by myself and was being harassed by the guy sitting next to me. The young male bartender was aware of this harassment happening and said they were closing the bar. I still had half my drink and was waiting for the guy next to me to leave so I wouldn't have to deal with him in the parking lot. The young male bartender came over to me, picked up my drink, forcefully moved it closer to me and told me loudly to chug my drink and it's time to get the f*** out of there. That behavior is so unbelievably rude and shows they don't actually care about keeping their patrons safe. Sad to say that I will never return ever again. read more

Writing review from the same place we wrote the last one. Would love to to try this place for real. Regulars seemed very fun. I haven't been to Inga's since it changed from Prickly Pete's. It is still a good neighborhood bar with a great patio. The inside has changed to reflect more of an aprés ski vibe. Service was super friendly and met all our requests when we asked for condiments. Some of our ketchup containers were a bit sticky. I had a vodka soda at $5 - average price for a single. I went with their gyro and fries. I was a bit disappointed with the amount of gyro meat I got. It was about 4 small slices on top of a large amount of tomatoes, onions, and cucumber. A few small feta pieces were scattered on it with not enough sauce so I am glad I asked for ranch with my fries. I had to open up the pita and mix the ingredients around to get a better bite of each ingredient. Inga's Alpine Tavern emerged from the good old standby of Prickly Pete's. Inga's has been up and running for a while, but a mention in Westword and a coupon told me it was time. The place definitely fits the Alpine Tavern theme with its decor and menu selections. You can get anything here from German Schnitzel to Poutine to a Gyro or Cheesesteak. The menu is extensive. I went for the Philly Cheesesteak after the waitress's suggestion. It was good. Good bread, good meat to cheese ratio and ample veggies. Portion was huge. I also opted for the waffle fries-which were prepared extra crispy- just how I like it. Inga's still retains its bar charm for happy hour get togethers. Service was great and we were checked in on several times. It was a fun place that I would go to again. read more

Inga's Alpine Tavern is aptly named. When you walk in, you definitely get those cozy mountain basement vibes. The ambiance is fitting for a neighborhood, locals-only watering hole. I want to like this place more than I do. I've been here a few times since the kitchen is open fairly late (by Denver standards) and it's a nice place to chill and watch a game. But $6 Coors Banquets and $8 canned beers? This isn't a high end cocktail bar, this is more of a dive. Too steep for the quality of what you're getting. In terms of food, y'all should know by now I'm a wing lover. I even have a chicken wing tattooed on me. KIDDING, but maybe I should...$15 for an order of wings is pretty standard with inflation, so that I don't necessarily care about. But these wings are tiny with a lowercase t. There's not much meat on them, and the flavors leave you wanting more. They do load up on the carrots and celery...but that shouldn't be the most exciting part about a chicken wing adventure. Maybe their wings aren't all that and I should expand my horizons to other menu items. They do have great pictures on their website, but I've never personally seen food that resembles it in person. Like I said, a super cozy neighborhood spot. I've just been let down with the food options a few times. But the food was mediocre at best and the bathrooms were just nasty, they looked like they haven't been cleaned in a very long time. First the good, the dolma is good. The pretzel appetizer is w the cheese and mustard is as expected. Love the Fry's Fries. Street (chicken) tacos are always fresh and a house favorite. Now the bad, the cheesesteak was a complete letdown, especially for $16. They put it on a mini-roll (5.5"), and it's meh taste wise. The frustration is they advertise a full sized sandwich but deliver a mini one. Sell the mini for $7-$8 alone and it is more reasonable. The other frustrating thing is all of the sides are fried, minus adding a (+$5) side salad. Even veggies sticks would be a good side to offer. We sometimes order a full salad to find veggies on the menu, Caesar & Spring salad are both tasty. read more

Love trying new to me places. And this place didn't disappoint. Went with a friend to get a bite to eat and play trivia. Atmosphere and venue were a lot of fun. Waitstaff was very attentive, prompt, efficient and fun as well. Spent more time there than expected. Will definitely be back. Oh, food was good too. I had the mushroom swiss burger with barbacoa fries (substituted for $3 more). Burger wad good and plentiful. Friend had green chili burger with queso fries.
