I haven't been to Campus Lounge in a hot minute! While waiting for an event, I stopped in at around 5PM on a weekday and it was a very relaxed environment with a half full bar and some business men in meetings. Happy hour runs from 3PM-6PM with a couple of beers in that selection for $3. Normal beers like Pacifico run around $7 a pint. There is a ton of seating here with like 3 areas (main, the one with the pool table, and a patio which seems more kid friendly). I'm not sure what it looks like during peak night time hours but it's a nice place to chill out after work with a drink or two. Every-time we drive by this spot I blurt out how it's on my list to try. We FINALLY had the pleasure of visiting last night & though different than I expected - surpassed my expectations. Inside gives cozy diner vibes. They have a bar, pool, arcade games, booths, etc. There are multiple rooms so there is a ton of space for groups. Our only critique was there were so many TVs - literally everywhere you look . The positive - they all were playing different sports games. I can imagine it's a great game day spot. We ordered a fried chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. 10/10. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and matched the kick back vibe. We were promptly seated and LOVED the retro theme!! The drinks were cold, the service was spot on....what more could you ask for?!?!!? Felt line a cool old midwestern town bar, with above average food. Love the vibe and the Cuban and tots, which we split (more than enough for 2 people) was AMAZING! Went here for some late night drinks after dinner. The vibe was cool and definitely nicer than your average sports bar. I ordered a Negroni and the bartender said she makes it with Hendricks so I said fine. Turns out using Hendricks doubled the price of three drink. It was a pretty good Negroni though and better than I would expect at a dive bar. However totally not worth the price of $20 if I can get one for less than that at a great cocktail bar. The whiskey and berries cocktail was also good but the blueberry syrup made it have a slight medicinal flavor. Really clean place and overall would go back. Service was also quick. read more

This is a pretty darn good neighborhood pub. Plenty of booths, games in the back to entertain. It was decorated nicely for Christmas and was warm and busy at 4pm on a Tuesday. Our server was lovely and the food was really good. I had the chicken sandwich and it was fried lightly . Really good sandwich. My husband enjoyed his burger And the rest of the family enjoyed their dishes. We got out of there full and the price was more than fair. They are a wonderful community restaurant and have donated back to our local schools. Great business to support. read more

I've driven and walked by Campus Lounge for serval years and tonight decided to give it a try. I consider it a little above a dive bar with decent food. Service is good and waiter was very attentive. We tried the fried chicken sandwich. The coating was light and crispy, and the mayo was the perfect amount with the iceberg lettuce. The Cubano was packed with slow cooked pulled pork that was tender. The sandwich needed more mustard to add the tangy flavor. It could have used more pickles to add some crunch. The bread had an odd taste, so I just ate everything on the inside. I would go back again when there's a game on TV. read more

Get the French dip. Campus Lounge is a classic sports bar. Fun, old fashioned vibe but clean and with friendly staff. One day my wife decided she wanted French dip so I pulled up Yelp and we stopped in. Was very happy with the hickory smoked brisket French dip. Strong smoke flavor and tender texture to the beef. The key component, though, is the soft bread that's not too soft (which can lead to bread collapse). Probably about as good as a French dip gets. read more

After driving past The Campus Lounge probably about a million times, I finally got the chance to try it after my nephew's game last weekend. While I love the fun retro vibe and fun atmosphere and of course that none of us left hungry, my hands down favorite thing about my Campus Lounge experience was their wonderful staff. My husband realized while we were having lunch the day we were supposed to go that we'd probably need a reservation to accommodate our party (I always feel like when dining out with a toddler you have a very small margin for error). He couldn't make it online so he called. The woman he talked to on the phone was really nice to begin with but when she had trouble making it she straightaway went for her manager who got it sorted out quickly. When we arrived, the woman who greeted us (and was also our waitress) got us to our table right away and took our order right away too- which was especially appreciated since some of our party was late and we needed to keep him hints moving because of our kid. Our waitress was super pleasant and efficient. We all felt like the food was pretty good for bar food but probably isn't the reason to go. That said, I'd definitely go back! read more

This is a funky little place! It is very retro with fun and eclectic decor. I started with the old fashioned flight and it was delicious, didn't enjoy the seasonal flavor at the time but the regulars were delicious. The sweet potato fries were very good and crisp! We walked in late one night, happy to know there was a kitchen still open! We walked in and the bar tender immediately knew we wanted some food! Really good burger honestly tasted like a whopper, not mad about it. The decor was interesting, it kind of reminded me meow wolf in the sense of having little displayed windows of unique settings. I think there was a game room in the back? Not a 100% sure but there was a lot of hootin and hollering coming from the back! We were just hungry and exhausted so we didn't go back and see. Great dive bar in Wash Park! They have all you can eat wings for $18 on Sunday's and Mondays. Drink specials during Broncos games. Great bar food - the poutine was great with green Chile (shoestring fries are always a win). Their house ranch is amazing ($0.50 charge per ranch). We got the burger - the bacon wrapped jalapeño was a nice addition. Burger was cooked well and was juicy. Service was great! Good amount of tvs inside to watch sports and some good beer options. This place is in a weird spot between past and future. This is the 3rd version since the long standing local sports bar version that was open 40+ years, ans seems to be on a better track than the other versions but also at risk to lose what the original did best. The new version actually captures the warmth of the original version, adding lots of TVs to make it sports friendly again, in a much more approachable way than the previous attempts, while providing the newer touches it needed; but it is stuck in a Denver area in transition that has had a long-standing appeal and character that is sadly dissipating quickly. All the long-standing local food & bar spots around Wash park are closing super fast, yet there still seems to be a pocket that wants that quaint, cozy local neighborhood bar with reasonably priced drinks and solid food that is missing. This seems to want meet that...but it is also trying to appeal to a new fan base. They have interesting promotions that the previous versions were missing, somewhat tying back to the daily specials of the original, and the new set up has that "feel" but the scene here is a strange mix. They have a hostess -- NEVER something with the original -- though table seating is limited and doesn't seem as fancy as a place needing a hostess, where folks waiting for seats end up in the game room since there isn't a real waiting area. The game room area is awesome with nice wall seating, roomy with social game options, but while I was there the patrons that are there as diners seem offended that people are trying to enjoy pool and shuffle board in a more bar sort of environment; to that, it was more a bar setting before overall, and in the new setting it has a big bar, but in the NEW Denver, there was more a young family vibe here, with many kids running around unattended. Lots of people with babies. Small children all around, and running around a pool table where adults drinking & using pool sticks isn't a good idea. This was not a good mix and something that will hopefully get worked out in the coming months. People that were used to this place as more of a neighborhood bar in the original version are definitely not going to be drawn back to this. But...new folks in the area might be...but what is the mix in this area to be sustainable? ...is it a bar or a neighborhood family place? It's only been open a few weeks and seems that it might be focusing more as a family place...which isn't a bad thing, but since so many people are tied to what this was before, it risks eliminating a big portion of business, which interestingly, the previous versions have missed out on and proven to have needed. What is the right mix? Can't it be both? Yes, it can with establishing the tone right. **they need to be super realistic about the errors of the previous versions and places like Fagans/Rosedale/303devour.** The new decor and setting is really great. The food and specials...really great. Staff.. nice! AND they have parking again. M-F Happy Hour until 7 pm with some cool options. Again ...if local families aren't minding their kids treating it like it is Chuck E. Cheese, and the place isn't going to set a tone around this, they may kill some of the universal appeal of this place, which is unfortunate as it could impact the longevity of this location, which needs to maximize on universal appeal. People new to this place and old fans will need to give it a shot with an open mind...there is A LOT of possibility here. read more

I have been here a couple times now, both for Avalanche events. for tonight's experience, I reserved a booth because I am still recovering from a broken foot and wanted to have a better place to sit. The staff who scheduled my booth on the phone specifically told me that's what I would have. When I arrived, I gave my name and they could only seat me on a stool at a tiny sort of bar against the wall. They said that they reserved my booth for someone else. It's not like they gave it away. They just made a flat out mistake. That was disappointing. I will also stay most of the staff here are not friendly. You don't see many smiles around here. However, at least they did a pretty good job serving me and getting me what I needed. The food both times has definitely been good, although not the big portions. My only real critique for tonight's meal is that one of the french fries had a distinct zing of mold flavor. Only one fry, but still a little concerning. It's a bit dimly lit, and I could do with them turning the music down a little bit, and it's really not a large place. Not a lot of room to move around in. I also couldn't watch the game on one of the TVs because the feed kept cutting out. It was on two TVs, and was cutting out on both, but one more than the other. I'm sure there was an issue with the signal for that channel, but it would've been nice if they had tried to do something to fix it. Overall I give the place 3 of 5 for the food and service, but it's definitely a mixed bag. There are much better bars and taverns out there. read more

I lived so close and never been. Now I'm a little farther and I finally make it and I can't believe what I was missing. An old school bar that is very inviting and clean (important!). The staff is great and makes you feel more like you're in a small town than in a city. They have a good selection of drafts and I tried some of their wings, and they were very worthy for a subsequent trip during a sporting event of interest. read more
