Came in on a freezing February night in Denver. Was looking for a place to warm up and we sure found it! Our bartender, Jacqui (not sure on the spelling sorry!) was the warm and welcoming host we so needed! She was so attentive and sweet. My friends and I used to come here weekly to grab a drink and watch the game, but we've had bad service from Jackie so many times that we are trying out new places in the neighborhood to switch to since she's always working the weekends lately. She seems distracted by people she knows and it takes forever to get a drink unless one of the other guys is working that day and covers for her. Jacque is incredibly bad at her job. we asked for tots, she gave us fries, we asked for tequila sprite, she gave us tequila soda (2 times). Have been here more than a few times and always a great vibe, cheap drinks and delicious food. But today the TV above the entry way didn't have the NFL game on in any sort of watchable version. The staff tried their best to make it right but in the end "it is what it is." But when the game switched to a different TV, it played perfectly, but then when it hit time for the PM games, there was no option to watch the game that went into OT. Overall, I understand technical difficulties happen, but it was a poor experience for a fan to experience. read more

Honestly my fault for thinking this place was dog friendly, the dog photo was misleading. Any who some pals of mine and I hit this place up on Saturday. It was pretty packed inside as college football was going on but the outside tables were open. On to the outside tables, these tables are not serviced by staff. We were informed we needed to go inside to order ourselves and get our drinks. That was kinda a bummer seeing as they told us dogs weren't allowed in there but also they didn't service it . Insert confused face here. Regardless we got our burgers and this awesome chicken sandwich, which didn't disappoint! My two minus stars are for the misleading dog friendly spot and the not serviced but we still make the rules here outside spot. So In all if you wanna eat some good chicken sand which or burgers and are in the area (without your dog) check it out ! Gratuity is still requested even if they aren't doing the full service for you on the outside patio. read more

Came in for a post work drink with a friend. It was her suggestion. We presented our IDs (we both look young but are over 21) and instantly something was off with the bartender when he viewed mine. He kept repeating my name as if it were fake. After I put it away, he asked to see it again, saying that my finger was blocking my photo and that he needed to verify it was actually me. I usually hold my ID by the side and did not know I was blocking the photo. I placed it flat on the bar so he could see it was indeed me in the photo. He realized that I was telling the truth and apologized, but it still left an awkward vibe on my experience. I understand verifying IDs, but felt like this could have possibly been handled better. read more

This is a fav local spot! Good beer selection, solid burger and tots, super friendly service every time I'm there, and yes... I def take over the jukebox! With the outside seating and closed in space, it's super easy to grab a table and hang out. read more

Stopped in for some quick appetizers and drinks before going out. Drinks were cheap, strong and good. For food we got the mozzarella coins, spot hash and the nachos. Spot hash was delicious and the mozzarella coins were great - and really unique, never seen that before. The nachos were soggy And came with guacamole on it even though we asked for it on the side and overall just not that great. read more

This review goes out to any/all the people that experienced the same bad service over and over hter that I did. I was sad because it was such a great neighborhood spot but the staff clearly did NOT give an "F". They "let everyone go"....the service has been amazing twice now...I think we are safe and this can now be a good place to go back to! The food is great...they bring you a menu when you sit down (unseats if before) and come back for refills, ask if you need anything...all with a smile. The last time I went this place was pretty empty (mid-week, during the day - so expected), but the guy at the bar didn't seem to really want to help too much. He wasn't rude, just not overly friendly. Ordered an item off of the daily special menu, was eventually charged full price (I guess since I didn't mention it was the special of the day?), and they brought it out to the patio with no utensils, napkins, ketchup, etc, so I had to go get them myself (somehow everyone was busy with 2 customers). However, the food was great, it's a great spot, and I like the feel of all the indoor and outdoor spaces. The BIGGEST downside for me is that it is a dog-themed bar, but no dogs allowed?? Even outside on the patio?? I would go so often if they allowed dogs, but since they don't I just walk a few more blocks to Broadway and get a cheap pitcher of beer with my dog someplace else :) read more

I wiled away a lovely Sunday afternoon here with some friends a bit ago so here are my tips for enjoying The Spot. 1. Sit on the patio, but don't sit on the walled sides. They're hotter. I think it's because the other sides get a cross breeze. 2. If you've been drinking the night before order a spicy Bloody Mary. It'll clear your head right up. And it has a nice spiciness to it. 3. Bring someone with you that is a regular. You'll be amazed at how much faster your service is. 4. Get a burger. Whether it's veggie or beef, the burgers here are quite tasty. 5. This is a perfect neighborhood joint that breeds happiness. It's laid back bar that makes every guest feel at home. With a quaint patio that oversees the charming streets of West Wash Park, it's a perfect spot for enjoying an afternoon beer. We were greeted so warmly and immediately helped by the gregarious manager. The menu that exceeds the average inventory of 'bar food', i.e. breaded chicken strips and nachos, attributes to this spot's popularity, as well. The pulled pork is superb! Especially on the Hawaiian Burger! If you are one for some major kick, the Afterburn isn't just spicy, it hurts. Unless your willing to take it like a man and then cry like a baby on the way home, I'd advise sticking to their other delicious items. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap with tater tots and it was yummy but my sister ordered the crispy chicken wrap and the cook made it "wrong" so he had to "re make" it but when it came out, yet again a hair in her wrap.. we also ordered a quesadilla and the server forgot to put it in so it took an extra 30 minutes to come out.. we were here for 2 hours. Waste of money. Terrible service. MID food. And THEN top it all off they tried to get over on us on the bill and make us pay for everything that had hair/ was suppose to be comped. read more

I love this little place! It's small with a long bar that runs the length of the building. I've been told they have great burgers but I haven't tried them myself. They have a handful of booths and high-top tables as well as a decent sized patio that can be open air when it's warm out otherwise has tarp walls for when it's colder. What stands out to me is the service. Troy was the bartender both times I was there. He was friendly, speedy, and knowledgable. I went once, liked him, then went back a few days later and he remember both my date and my drink orders! Well done, sir! Also, I ordered a Stout on Nitro and he made a clover in the foam (see pic). Absolutely awful. I am a server and so I can tell you when someone's busy and someone's just being rude. The server didn't want to serve us, they treated us like we weren't good enough to be there when we walked through the door, we were just coming back from pride, and we're wearing clothing to match, and they didn't care for our presence. I definitely felt discriminated against. I would never come back here again and I hope they learn to love people instead of judge them from the moment they are them. We were at 6top which is at least over a $100 tab, $20 tip at least, which the server could probably gained more off of considering how it miserably slow it was. read more

This is a great place to come and visit. The $5 classic burger is a great deal. It is always cooked to perfection. With Swiss or provolone that burger always hits the spot. Like I said this is always a great spot for anyone. However, the reason for my 2-star review comes down to the service. Sarah, our waitress, was simply horrendous. I've been here multiple times, got a few friends of mine to enjoy the spot. But Sarah has not been at all helpful. I'm not expecting ha d and foot service, but I do expect some level or courtesy by the wait staff. Asking how the food was, following thru getting items asked for. I asked for ketchup and was either ignored or forgotten as I had to ask other customers to use the ketchup on their table. What I like about this bar: -Nestled into a neighborhood -Great beer selection -Covered patio -The awesome touchy server/bartender What I dislike about this bar: -Unpredictable service. Sometimes the servers are right on top of everything and other times you have to physically search them out before you get a drink. None of this seems to be related to how busy the place is. -The "gurgles" I get after every time I eat here. They usually lead to even less pleasant events. -The fact that there is always a large table full of people that are absolutely obliterated (or just naturally loud and annoying). This aspect wouldn't be as bad if the Spot wasn't a very small bar, so their drunken braying is heard both inside and out. I will go to this bar if friend's suggest it, but if it's up to me, I try and avoid this place because it's just not that great and it's a pain in the rear to get to it from where I live. read more
