Dive bar that caters to Wisconsin Badgers. The bar tender originally recognized me as I walked in, "I'll be there shortly." I think OK great. I'll go to the restroom while he takes care of other patrons. I return and sit at the bar. The bartender is tied up with the regulars. I get passed over at least twice. I flag him down before he sits down again. A Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest is $9. There isn't a lot of selection if anything. My beer also tasted off. So this bar caters to a certain audience and not my scene. Cool spot for Badger fans. read more

Whatever this bar once was, it's heyday seems over. I avoided coming here for Packers games because of the reviews both online and verbally told to me -- it appears they've been known to have staff/bartender attitudinal/job performance problems. There are always people looking for jobs in Denver, seems strange why that can't be corrected by owner(s). I finally checked it out for a nighttime Packer game when no other NFL game was on and it was d-e-a-d. I only saw maybe 4-ish other Packers fans in there, it was weird. "Packer bar" definition it is no more. "Packer bar" doesn't mean they have a sign or poster up. To be a team bar, you need the people and the vibe. It's more of an all-in thing to be called a bar of said team. Staff should be excited! Happy to see the fans coming in! I can't say it was like that at all. Even other patrons at the bar asked me, "Why isn't anyone here?!" and since it was my first time, I don't know what's going on, but I can def give some other reco's for Packer games! There was no loud cheering, no celebration, no happiness, no getting there early to get a seat in this tiny place, it was so empty! I don't know if different days of the week get a bigger draw, or something. !hen the game started/was over, I wanna hear that stuff on the TV. Like if I stayed at home and didn't come out to pay for drinks at a bar, I'd get a better pre and post game experience. I really cannot fathom why any businesses catering to a team's fanbase don't have the game sound on before & after games so fan can hear just some of the important stuff a few mins before/after. This place could used for a handful of dollars and a trip to hardware store, too, for reals! There is one restroom for each gender and the front door doesn't close or lock. The bathroom stall door barely closes and also doesn't lock. Please, just go the the Ace or Depot and fix the dang bathroom door. I don't understand, we value privacy! They have shots listed as specials on the board but they don't have the ingredients to make it. That's just another store trip! At least change the specials writing on your sign, that would be pretty easy!? The service I experienced on the day I went was was fine. 1 of 2 was attentive. The other looked & acted a little out of it, sorry but they did! And that one left early. The other was very nice and accommodating, though not a Packers' fan, lol. There are several other Packers bar options in the Denver area that actually have fans inside to cheer along with and more hyped for the game. I generally like a solid hole in the wall, but this is a bit more dilapidated. I cannot come hang at this joint again for a game! read more

We went for my nieces birthday and there were about 15 of us. It was hot and the woman bartender was very rude to us and seemed like she hated her job but it did turn us all off and we wanted to leave. My cousin asked if she had blue moon and her response was look around. My first time there but if she's bar tending I won't be going back. She was very rude and lost busines. read more

Strolled in here on a night out at South Broadway. On a night without a significant Wisconsin sporting event still a nice scene, the kind of place where you can spend a significant amount of time and feel welcomed. Left $1 tip for each draft beer we bought (which any moron/jackass could serve within 25 seconds). Bartender offered a free drink because she messed up on something and then rescinded on the offer stating, "I can't add this on comp tab". Not a big deal. When we closed out she became emotionally reactive, verbally volatile, and attacted us for "not leaving 20% tip" by yelling across the bar, "10%, they only left a 10% tip!!" so everyone around could hear --which under basic 2nd grade math was not true. She subsequently came up to us and yelled in our face about the tip amount.We felt very uncomfortable and left our drinks half full. She showed behaviors that indicated that she was high off a "substance" that may have triggered the aggression. read more

Badgers is an awesome laid back bar that's great for a Friday night if your trying to avoid the rambunctious club crowds and grab a drink with friends. The door guy was super funny and personable the whole night. He was a great sport and participated in our stupid drunk jokes. Come here for a fun chill night! read more

Maybe I'm naive, but I didn't know open racism like this still existed in major cities. Jamie and "Tall" refused to serve me. I was a little frustrated watching everyone to my left and right be served repeatedly while I was skipped over and over, but I didn't at all think it was racial. But another patron at the bar, a friend of a regular, actually told me, "hey man it sucks but some people in this city are just racist." And after spending 30 minutes in that bar literally unable to get a drink while everyone else (all white) was served repeatedly, I don't know what else to attribute it to. Wow, this place used to be fun.... What happened? My friends and I were treated to a less than friendly experience by the apparently new manager tonight. Savannah is the new sheriff in town and quickly realized why all her deputies have quit their jobs.... It's unfortunate that this spot has been a favorite of so many of us... especially after Covid restrictions finally let us get out and have some fun, the atmosphere was less than inviting and felt stale similar to the drinks we were served. We felt ignored and less than welcome due to the way the place is being managed. Keep in mind I have never met the manager before but witnessed the way she spoke to one of her bartenders and felt compelled to write a review so the business doesn't completely get ran into the ground. When staff is leaving and it's not because of lack of hours but due to management, it should be a sign to fix the problem not the people. Cheers! read more

I went to this bar on the night of my 21st and as soon as I walked in and pulled out my ID, the bartender who was working (12 AM on June 27) immediately stated how she refused to serve me. I did not even say one word. She then went on to talk to me in a condescending and demeaning tone. She completely ruined my outlook on bars as this was the first bar I intended to go to on my 21st because I love the Wisconsin Badgers. Very horrible experience, especially since I was so excited for this pub! Very unfortunate. read more

3.5 Stars The cider is gone :( , they don't even have any available off the tap. The 'badger honey' beer is Shock Top Wheat, but the place still has great drink specials and a Yelp check in deal. Would be nice if there was a cider option, in a can or bottle! There is plenty of PBR (on tap and in a can), Hamms, Old Style, etc. Are these beers really more popular than Strongbow or Woodchuck? How about giving Glider a try? Or any other local tasty brews? The service is still rockin, and there was a weird fun crowd on a Saturday night. They played the music a little too loud to talk, but it was still fun for a few drinks and I am sure we will return. read more

The good -the staff, and the juke box. Juke boxes are hard to find in this day in agein bars, and that is why we usually come here. They also have an adult and non adult video games unit on the bar, the Penthouse Girls- what does not match in the picture- is fun to play in teams,while you drink and hang. There is a whole PC section of games without boobs, that is cheaper to play, but the seedy one is more interesting. The bad-It seems like every time we are here, or least every other, I am trying to keep some townies from getting in a fight with my peeps. Usually this is a result of trying to play pool. Tip- If we keep to the front of the bar, it is chill experience, with great bartenders, and the jukebox. The father we get into the bowls of Badgers- the darker the experience becomes. Really there are some douche bags that gravitate to that pool table. you may want to play elsewhere. read more

the doorman (Bam, I think was his name?) was very polite and was very on top of checking EVERY ID (we watched him). haha also the bartenders were kicking ass (Morgan and another guy) and it was packed in here due to a memorial, and that was great to see the comradere at this local bar for the sad loss of a local. read more

Great dive. Chill. Cheap beer and fairly friendly crowd. Dating a Packers fan and seem to stumble upon lots of Packers bars in Denver. We had a Jamieson Ginger and Beers at the bar top. Nothing much here to excite me. Smelled like a college bar (e.g. how long has that beer been on the floor any way?). Heard bathrooms were not great either. The word special can be used in many different ways, but Badgers Lounge has really capitalized on the meaning and taken it to the extreme. If the bar industry had an Olympics, BL would take home the bronze, silver, and gold in extreme specializing. Every day ending in y features a clever offer on alcohol, in fact, I'm sure if there was an 8th day of the week, they would actually pay you to drink. The specials are utterly ridiculous (great on the wallet, horrible for the liver) and you wonder how a bar can make money giving away the farm, but then you remember you're drinking for an amount that you could probably wrestle up from the bottom of your purse, and you stop wondering. The crowd is a little funky but who doesn't love being taken to funky town? read more

Badger's Pub is way, way, way cleaner than I thought it would be. I kind of expected my shoes to stick to the ground and to not really want to sit on any surface inside the bar based on the place's history and outside appearance. Happily that wasn't the case for me. There's nothing too crazy special about Badger's except the drink specials (more on that in a minute). It's basically an open area with TVs, a jukebox, some high top tables, and a pool table in the back. An easy spot for hanging out with friends and a super casual environment. What they do excel at is helping you drink for cheap, or even free. Everyday has a different special from "Honey Badger Night" (Saturdays) where ladies drink free from 9 pm - midnight to things everyone can enjoy such as buy a Jager or Washington Apple shot for $3 and get a free PBR (Fridays). That's a good deal no matter which way you cut it and especially on the weekends. read more

There's a special place in my heart for dive bars and this one is no exception. This is a no frills place that makes you feel comfortable upon arrival. The experience ranges from a chill night with the salt of the earth locals, to a crazy fun night that leaves you wondering how Badger's did it again. I've been meaning to get on over to Badger's for ages, and on a whim to visit Broadway, Lisa H and I finally made it! Badger's claims to be a Wisconsin bar, and from the decor of all WI sports teams and the previous reviews, this is indeed accurate. However, being from WI, it didn't *feel* like an authentic WI bar. I was missing (as in lacking, not longing for!) the country music or bad classic rock (the juke box can always remedy that situation). I was missing the ubiquitous and necessary mounted animal (deer and/or muskies are acceptable) on the walls. Oh, and I can't forget the lack of a fish fry and cheese curds. But those details are just technicalities from a Wisconsinite. Badger's has some excellent potential: awesome bar staff, cheap drinks, interesting and fun clientele, and location. I certainly had a blast here playing pool, dancing with the one guy who was swinging his hips as he walked in, and downing an Irish car bomb. Keep up the good work Badger's! The Old Brown Barrel, where did you go? I guess out with old in with new! The same guys from Pub on Penn and Pub on Pearl came in here and put a new coat of paint on the walls, added couple new TV's and a brought in new juke box and now we have badgers. Not bad in my opinion, nothing special, but nothing that would be offensive to the regulars. The drinks were cheap, the clientele was friendly and the service was spectacular. I liked the Brown Barrel, but I'm definitely not averse to having some new blood in the place. When I went to Badger's they just opened the previous week and hadn't actually had their official grand opening yet. This didn't hurt me at all since my friends and I got a couple free rounds of shots and a couple free drinks. This obviously always puts a smile on my face! I will definitely be coming back and strongly urge anyone else to head on over. Good times will be had!!! read more

I used to go to this bar pretty regularly. It was our start the night bar. With family visiting, we wanted to show them this place. We went there tonight with my brother-in-law who is visiting from another state. He is 24 and has a valid vertical id. They denied it! The manager said they don't accept those ids. A valid id?! When I mentioned we come perry regularly, he said "I've never seen you before." And he was extremely rude. We left, and I will never return. You don't treat customers like that. I will also find a new bar for our friends to meet from now on. read more

If you're looking for a dive bar on south Broadway this is it. It's a Wisconsin themed place so if you attempt to go there during a Packer game the place gets crazy. There's no food served so you're actually allowed to bring your own in and during football games they have a food truck set up on the street. If you're looking for an unapologetically dirty, dark establishment, this is your place. If you really want to be a hipster and pretend like that's what you want - head to the punch bowl. read more
