This place is so chaotic in a fun way! Drinks are decent and fun games to play!! Just busy enough

TL;DR: This one-star rating is entirely due to their bartender, Christian -- a belligerent, intoxicated bully who seemed to be looking for a fight with customers. Here's what happened: I came in last night with a group of friends and had a Monster Energy drink in my front pocket. It wasn't taken at the door, so I forgot about it until I noticed it while playing at the beer pong table. I cracked it open without thinking much of it. Christian came around bussing glasses and took the Monster from me. I assumed it was a mistake at first, but he told me I couldn't have it inside -- fair enough. I asked if I could take it outside or leave it somewhere. He said he'd hold it behind the bar for me to pick up when I left. That seemed reasonable, and I thanked him. When I came to grab it on my way out, he tossed it in the trash instead. When I asked why, he pulled it back out and slowly poured it into the trash, yelling that I wasn't supposed to have it in there and accusing me of sneaking it in. The whole thing felt like he was trying to provoke me into a confrontation. It was humiliating -- not just for me, but honestly for the bar too, especially in front of a crowd. There are so many better ways this situation could have been handled. It's unfortunate, because the rest of the staff were friendly and professional, and I genuinely like the arcade bar itself. To ownership: Please take note -- this employee needs support, training, or possibly a different role that doesn't involve direct customer interaction. read more

We stopped by during a bar crawl. First of all, let's address the service. Perfect. Flawless. Taylor took on our large group with no heads up before without blinking, regulars waited patiently while we ordered in our Golden Girls theme costumes, and games are just really, really fun. It felt like Dave and Busters with a cooler vibe without the kids. Reasonably priced and we will be back. Nothing negative to say, I still have money on my playing card so I HAVE to go back, and look forward to upgrading this review to a five. Definitely recommend and see you there. read more

Went to players tonight with a work group of 16 people looking forward to having a good time. The work group members of the c-level. CEO and CTO. From the very beginning, the bartender didn't seem like he had his act together. Hard to describe. But since we travel in a different city and state every week, we see a lot of different things. The skinny: cool cheap spot for unique drinks and arcade games. The space: arcade bar right on Broadway. Large tvs and a decent amount of games (arcade, beer pong, board games) but not a huge space. Can get pretty packed on the weekends. Friendly staff. Drinks/food: 5 dollar infused drinks! They have a variety of infused vodka that are pretty unique. Pickle, marshmallow, airhead, double bubble, war great - some things that I didn't think you could even infuse alcohol with. Tried a marshmallow with seltzer and tasted like a cream soda. Was great! There are gaming bars opening up all over the US and Players Pub is a super fun spot down on South Broadway. You can load up a game card or pay as you go. The games are fun, eclectic, and spread throughout the space. For the record, Donkey Kong is way harder than I remember. Their food options are mostly fried but they do have a cheeseburger wrap that was surprisingly way more delicious than it looked. Their fried pickles a were bomb too. Ski ball, Mario kart, Big Buck Hunter are just a few more of my gaming favorites that I was able to play. Their bar is stocked full of good booze and beer. I didn't partake because sober January is still a thing but my pals were boozing it up and keeping the bartenders busy. The bartenders were fun and kept us all entertained. Well played Players Pub. Games + booze = always a good time. BEST PART: Their infused vodka. They have a pretty lengthy list of flavors. I tried Warheads and Skittles and both were delicious (tasted just like the candy). WORST PART: Their game selection. I thought they could have squeezed in a couple more machines -- saw some empty wall space. They had only one fighting game (Tekken Tag) and one co-op game (Simpsons). Would be cool to see at least one more of each (perhaps Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter; TMNT or X-Men). They also had a Pandora's box compilation (older games like Tetris, Contra, and so on), Mario Kart, Skee-Ball, basketball, plus a couple other games. I drink tequila on the rocks and it's so hard to find a good sipping tequila in Denver that's affordable, and Players Pub has it! Tried this place out after they'd been open for a week and a half. They have a pickle infused vodka, which I think is fantastic! I love the atmosphere and jumping from game to game. They have a cool gaming card you can load money onto and then swipe to play games. We went back last night and saw that they serve food and it looked tasty. Can't wait to go back! read more

Stopped in here for drinks and fun for a friends bday. It was busy not not ridiculously crowded for a Saturday night. Drinks were very reasonably priced and the music was bumping. The bar staff was friendly and attentive. I never waited too long to get my libations. It was a mixed crowd but trended a bit younger. I'm basing that on the copious number of bushy beards, high wasted jeans and 80's style knitted sweaters. Even so, the crown was pretty chill and seemed focused on having a good time. They have air hockey which means they win everything. The guitar hero was calling my name, but I got pulled into deep existential bday conversation and missed my opportunities. The most unprofessional establishment I've ever been in. Upon exiting, I tried to walk back to where I was sitting (I didn't even exit the bar yet) at 1:50am to find my vape. The owner, and his 3 drunk security guards started yelling at my boyfriend and I, and put their hands on me in a uncalled for violent manner. They are lucky I did not call the police. You do not put your hands on someone no matter what. Plenty of witnesses outside of my friend group. Guy in cowboys jersey (who was apparently the owner) even tried to offer me shots for compensation. Ridiculous. They were obviously wasted. Sad because my friend group used to love this place. We will not be returning. I never "re-entered" I never left the bar. Send me the video footage if you see it as "non violent" and we can let the police decide. The hand shake was because I had to De-escalate the situation because I felt threatened with four men getting in my face for trying to walk into the bar. Your so-called security guards were all sipping on beers and had no business getting involved at all. I tried to get past you because you were being violent and in my face over nothing. Even a few patrons at the bar looked at us and said you guys were completely in the wrong. No matter what, you do not put your hands on somebody. End of story. I had not yet left the bar and simply turned around to try and find a left behind belonging. read more

I have been hanging out at players pub since around the time in opened thanks to PMH leagues but what keeps me coming back on other nights is the fun games and my girl Lo! She makes the experience super awesome and treats everyone with respect. On certain game days she turned on all of the TVs to the game my friends wanted to watch which was amazing!! We popped in here after dinner because we were excited to play some games and about this new place on the street! The service was great, with the bartenders friendly and frequently available. The space has cool wooden decorations and is super clean. However there weren't as many games as you'd think there would be for a place advertising itself as a game bar. The space was narrow, and the WiFi unfortunately kept breaking while we were there. You have to buy and load a game card to play, and the card depended on WiFi to play, so there are definitely some kinks to be worked out there. Maybe an old school quarter machine would have been better? Either way we had a fun drink and played some games here and it's fun to see a new place in the neighborhood. I'll be back to try the infused vodka drinks as I hear those are delish! read more

Players pub is great! We love spending football Sunday here. The one reason for the 3 star review is the blonde female bartender. She is such a downer and straight up rude. We contemplate going to the players pub when she is working. No one wants to interact with her and she doesn't want to interact with anyone. If she didn't work there - 5 stars! read more
